For the most part the streets in the town are paved with stone, trees like the streets giving the town a more natural feeling. Building inside the walls of the town and close together, store are stacked on top of each other for room and restaurants seem to pop up every three or four buildings down from the last restaurant. Several streets run in and out of the town allowing for easy travel, while buildings inside the gated area are small and stacked those who chose to live outside the town are allowed to have bigger homes with more than one floor if they so choose.

The day before was interesting to say the least, Alessandra had the chance to see a picture of younger Rin in all his adorableness along with having the chance to meet his dad. Though there were a few times the man had lost his clothes and the blonde saw more than she wanted it was still an enjoyable day. Even when Rosa showed up to deliver the news of her and Rin's advancement in rank along with their new titles of Observants, given to them by the Fiore government. Although she wasn't sure about being given the S rank or having such a high position such as an Observant, she was estatic about her best friend becoming the Ace of their guild and him also being given the position of Observant. Upon hearing the news the blonde had almost tackled him where he stood in celebration. The book mage knew her dearest friend was strong and smart, she had hoped that the guild would recognize this and he would get higher in the guild. Now, he was second in command and even recognized by the Fiore government. Her best friend! Praise and joy were the main things coming out of her mouth along with the compliments of amazing and awesome. Alessandra was more focused on the big achievements that Rin had gotten rather than her own. She was probably one of the worst offenders when it came to trying to boost Rin's confidence, ego, and pride. As their celebration of the rank ups and new positions began to settle the two were planning on heading out once more. It had gotten late and they still had a long journey up to Oak Town far to the north near the boarder. Although Alessandra was excited to see her parents again it was a bit sad waving bye to Rosa, Ko, Kaya, and Diasuki. She had fun spending the day with them and Rin, despite all the teasing and stripping that happened. Once they had gotten down the road a bit Alessandra had told Rin that she thought his dad was funny and that she wouldn't mind visiting again with him if the occasion ever arose.
Now their travel took a good chuck of the night and a little of the morning to get to Oak Town. In this time Alessandra has summoned her registry book in order to log her two new books into her library. This was the system she used in order to summon her books, allowing her hands to be free and her not to be weighted down. The registry book was old and dusty, it had an ink pad and stamp with the initials AAP on it. The ink was similar to what their guild marks were however the initials would vanish into the cover of the book after being stamped. With her new books marked she was able to send all three back to her library, freeing her arms from having to carry them all around. As the night travel dragged on Alessandra found it harder and harder to stay awake, even while holding a conversation with her best friend it was just getting to hard. Before she knew it the blonde had passed out, at first her body leaned more heavily on Rin but over the night she curled more against his side. There was no escape for him now. One of the book mage's arms curled around his arm closest to her. Her arm slipping between his side and arm, coming up and resting her hand on his shoulder almost if not totally pinning his arm to her chest. Her opposite arm curled over that same arm of his that was trapped. The fingers of that hand gently brushing the middle of his palm. All the while her head rested on the top of his shoulder, the bridge of her nose snug against his neck. Alessandra was unaware of her position, sound asleep and using her bestfriend as a body pillow. She would stay like this, peacefully snoozing until the ride they had taken came to a stop. The sudden push and the pull of force caused Alessandra to stir. She let go of Rin's arm and lifted her head, "Hmm! That was comfortable~" stretching her arms and back. "I passed out didn't I?" She looked at her best friend while one hand rubbed the sleep sand from her eyes. Clearly oblivious to her position against him the whole time she was asleep. "I'm sorry. I tried to stay awake as long as I could. Hope I wasn't to much of a pain while asleep." She laughed slightly as she smiled, the yawned. Covering her mouth as she did so. "We've arrived at Oak Town." The driver stated to the two, disregarding if he had interrupted their conversation or not. "Oh thank you!" The blonde spoke cheerfully as she tried to hop out of their ride, but her legs hadn't fully awakened yet and she faceplanted on the ground.

He stared out of the window of their ride. The scenery flitting by as it whipped past. Dawn had broken over the horizon less than hour before. Bathing the rolling hills and small valleys in its radiant light. Its rays glistening off the dew on the grass. But he didn’t pay much attention to the sights outside. His eyes may be pointed outward but his attention was far from the northern hills. The excitement of yesterday raw and fresh in his mind. Rin still couldn’t believe it. He was certain the Guild Master had made a mistake to make him Ace of Sabertooth. Then to be deemed Observer of Devils by the Fiore government? It was an honor, truly. Yet he feared they too had made a mistake. Was he really strong enough to hold those titles? What if they’d misplaced their faith by placing it in him? S-rank had been something he could handle. It gave him responsibility, true, though it didn’t make him responsible for the entire guild when the master was away. The teenager wasn’t sure if he was ready. He felt that he had so much progress left to make before that point. Surely, the master and the Fiore government weren’t wrong though? All these thoughts and more swirled around, jumbling themselves in his head. Everyone had been so thrilled for him. While he was happy to be recognized, he couldn’t help but feel the sense of doubt creep up. It had been Alessandra’s exuberant hugging that’d brought him from his uncertainties. Her beaming smile and words of encouragement pushed his insecurities away. Alessandra. She’d been honored as well. She deserved it far more than any of them. His expression had grown bright and enthusiastic when Rosa delivered that bit of news. Rin recalled wrapping her in a massive hug. Congratulating her loudest of them all. He was beyond thrilled for his best friend whom gave herself far too little credit. She would do great things. Far greater things than him, in his honest opinion.
After hours of celebration, and a bit too much embarrassment for Rin’s liking, the duo said their goodbyes to their friends. Rin blushed when Ale confided she wouldn’t mind visiting his home again. He wasn’t sure if he could handle another round of his dad stripping and pointing out baby pictures to the blonde. Then again, if it made her happy, he’d do it a thousand times over. Their ride took them all night and into part of the morning. The Devil Slayer managed to sleep for a few hours, but his mind kept him awake most of the night. That and… His ocean blue orbs traveled down to the mop of blonde hair tucked serenely against his shoulder. His cheeks colored again. Ale fell asleep while they’d been talking about her next ruin run. While an interesting topic, the excitement of the day finally caught up with her. Her body leaned heavily next to him. His stiffened in response. Here was his best friend, a girl who saw the best in him, whom he trusted implicitly…someone so comfortable with him that she drifted to sleep and curled into him. Rin’s heart fluttered. He dare not move for fear of disturbing her. Enjoying every second of the contact. Ignoring the aching numbness in his body from his unmoved position. If it was her, he could stay like this forever. And they might have if the ride hadn’t lurched to a stop. Looks like we’re here, the blue-haired teenager sighed. “Heh, yeah,” he laughed, stretching lazily. “Don’t worry about it though. You didn’t miss anything.” Rin smiled toothily at his friend. “Are you kidding? You were as quiet as a mouse!” The driver interrupted them at that point, stepping out to retrieve what little stuff they brought. As he did, Rin started to thank him when a thud broke him off. “Ale!” He jumped out and knelt beside her. “Hey, you okay?” Rin asked while offering a hand to help her up. His brows furrowed in concern.
The face of Alessandra had turned quiet red as she picked her face up from the solid ground, hearing Rin’s voice next to her only flustered her more. “Y-Yeah. My legs just weren’t awake enough for that jump.” Her hand took his as she stood to her feet, a splotch of dirt adorned her right cheek as her face turned to look directly at her dear friend. “You know I’m a bit of a klutz.” She spoke with a smile mean to reassure the Ace that she was okay. Though her statement of ‘a bit of a klutz’ was way off. Alessandra was a total klutz, walking into things, tripping over chairs, almost falling into endless amounts of traps. Granit most of the time she was reading a book while those things happened but there were days she would walk into a wall even without a book. Those days though Rosa and Noctis took advantage of to tease the girl and fluster her. “Thanks for the help up Rin!” Her hand gently slid out of his, though she remained calm on the outside her heart felt as if it was just going to pound out of her chest while the rest of her fluttered away with the butterflies inside. She would have liked to keep her hand there a bit longer, if it wouldn’t turn the situation award. “If you’re all set I would like to get going now.” The driver interrupted once again with a huff, “Young couples… geesh.” The male quietly muttered to himself in exasperation. “Y-yes! Sorry Sir!” the blonde replied, not hearing he muttered words of the male. She grabbed her little belt with a pouch attached to it. She had taken it off before their ride had begun moving so the buckle wouldn’t catch on her dress and rip it or dig into her if she accidently fell asleep. The little thing didn’t hold a ton; just some money, bobby pins, and her house keys but she didn’t want to lose it because of where it came from. It was a gift from her aunt and it was irreplaceable. It didn’t hold any real value at any type of store but to the blonde it was almost as valuable as her books. “I’m all set now.” She would speak cheerfully as she waited for her best friend to get his stuff. Luckily for the blonde she was able to send her two new books to her library thanks to her magical little stamp that she had. Once Rin was ready the blonde would begin to walk into the town, following the road. In the background behind the town covered hill where the large mountains, covered in trees. They weren’t high enough to be covered in snow or have a defined tree line. Along the road leading around and past the town was the river which kid splashed around it. Some even swinging off a rope and jumping into the water. The air fresh with the strong scent of pine caught in the breeze, though another warm summer day the valley Oak Town sat it was cooler. The town looked something out of an old fairy tale book with how the buildings covered the hill. At the top sat the castle once used by Phantom Lord it now serves as the home of Lamia Scale. Although it was peaceful and the people friendly the numerous turrets and battlements dotted along the town was a reminder to the people that the town was once a battle front and a reminder of how close the people were to the boarder.
Alessandra would wave to a few elderly people who sat on chairs near the road, they waving back with large smiles. It had been a long time since she actually set foot in her hometown and it was rare for her to talk about it except around Christmas when the town was decorated in lights and snow. “I should probably warn you about my parents. They’re….. hmmm…. Well a bit eccentric. They’re nice people but…. Just be prepared to have your personal space invaded.” Alessandra laughed slightly, she was getting nervous bringing Rin with her now. She knew how her parents were and on top of that her mom disliked just about any guy the blonde hung out with. Though that was all Damien’s fault. Alessandra hoped that because of the letters she had written to her parents beforehand that they would at least be okay with Rin. She just had to keep her fingers crossed. “Lets see here….. I feel like I’m forgetting to mention something else… something important.” She spoke quietly but thoughtfully as the two walked, her index finger on her chin while a puzzled look rested on her face. There was something, her gut was just saying so but she couldn’t place it. As they got farther down the road, in front of them came bounding a black and brown roughly three foot tall ball of fur; sprinting at full speed and heading right to them. A loud bark erupted from the mass as it came closer, running as fast as it can. “Bobo! No!” Alessandra yelled at the mass before scrambling behind Rin as the mass went to pounce. From there the two ran in a circle around Rin, Alessandra avoiding behind pounced on while the dog barked and chased her. “Bobo! Sit!” With that the mass of fur sat but only for a second before looking at Rin and pouncing. The dog was close to about 200 pounds and to fat for someone to fully wrap their arms around. The dog slobbered and tried to lick Rin with all his might. The fat pink tong covered in drool flung slobber everywhere. “I am so sorry.” Alessandra spoke with an exasperated sigh, “Rin, this is Bobo. My dog that currently lives with my parents. This is what I was trying to remember. He likes to tackle people…. Well girls. He typically doesn’t like guys.” The S rank watched as her dog tried to but his head against Rin’s in order to rub his slobbery furry face all over the Ice mage. “I’m glad he likes you. A lot actually.” Alessandra laughed as she grabbed onto the dog’s collar giving a slight tug so the mass of fur would sit and stop slobbering all over her friend.

Rin’s concerned faded into a soft smile once he knew Alessandra was all right. “You know,” he began with a soft chuckle, “It’s my job to leap before looking.” The Devil Slayer teased her as he helped her to her feet. “Don’t you start that or else I’ll steal your thing of pressing random buttons or pulling random levers.” His last statement, of course, referred to the blonde’s habit of messing with anything that remotely looked like a button or lever inside of the ancient ruins she explored. Rin had been privy to a few such instances, though Rosa had witnessed it far more often. Sometimes he worried that she would get herself into trouble she couldn’t use magic to get out of or whoever was with her, if anyone, would be able to save her from. On the same token, he trusted Ale to take care of herself and use her better judgement. His smile broadening, the blue-haired teenager gave her a bright smile and nod, “Any time.” Her hand drew from his. The sudden absence of her touch sent a pang of longing through his heart. It was a feeling he didn’t have much time to linger on, however. The gruff voice of the driver broke across his thoughts. Rin’s face instantly flushed a deep crimson at the man’s murmured statement. Ocean blue orbs looked to his best friend. The girl seemed to not have overheard him. Okay, gotta calm down before she notices, he’d practically felt his cheeks glowing. Turning away from her, the boy used the distraction of gathering his stuff to keep his face hidden from her until his normal color had returned. “Got everything?” He asked over his shoulder before fully turning to face her. Alessandra hadn’t packed a lot of things. Neither had he. The trip to her parents’ house was meant to be short, a visit while they worked their way back to Sabertooth. “Lead the way,” Rin made a sweeping gesture towards the town. Adjusting the strap of his sword cradled across his back, the Ace swung his pack over his shoulder and fell into step beside Ale.
The town was as picturesque as he remembered it to be. Despite passing by it regularly for various jobs, he rarely got to visit Oak Town, but he had been there a time or two. The fact that his best friend was from here made it seem all the more pleasant to him. It suited Ale in a way. He refused to acknowledge that Damien also hailed from here. That’d spoil the idyllic imagery. Rin noticed the general peaceful and friendly feeling of the town. Ale waved to those they passed with them waving and smiling in kind. A true small-town notion of everyone knowing everyone else. They’d only be walking a few minutes when the blonde mentioned her parents. His lips parted in a broad toothy grin. “You mean like my old man did with you?” He chuckled, cheeks flushing ever so slightly. He still wasn’t fully over that embarrassment. “All’s fair in love and wa—” Rin blinked owlishly. His mind came to a screeching halt. Had he really just said that?! Clearing his throat, he scrambled for something else, anything else to say. “Err…uh…what I meant was that it’s only fair…after I forgot to warn you about how my dad is. I don’t know if anyone is as bad as he is, especially when you think about his, uh, quirk. Heh heh.” He cleared his throat again in a nervous manner and looked away. The Devil Slayer internally facepalmed at himself. Way to go idiot. A shout of surprise from his friend drew his gaze back to her before it drifted to the focus of her attention. Lumbering down the road, at a fast clip, came a massive pile of black and brown fur. “Whoa,” Rin’s mouth dropped open at the size of the dog. He hadn’t seen one that big in a long time. The animal bounded towards them. Its intention to tackle its master obvious. Alessandra did her best to waylay those plans, running around him in a circle with the dog chasing after her. Rin’s head swiveled with them. A bemused smirk on his lips.
Ale managed to calm the furball down eventually, but just briefly. Less than a second after he obeyed her command to sit, the large animal targeted Rin and pounced. “Hey there boy!” He laughed heartily, struggling to remain upright. Wrapping his arms as far around the beast as he could, Rin scratched and rubbed Bobo’s back then buried his face into his fur, all while the dog licked at him with his drooling pink tongue. “You’re a loving one aren’t ya? Who’s a big lug of a boy? Is it you? Huh?!” The teenager asked cheerily. No fear in his voice or disgust at the drool present in the least. It was one of the lesser known things about the Devil Slayer. He had a sort of animal magnetism. Most animals were comfortable with him from the very start, with a few exceptions of course. Dogs and cats were the most notable of these. There wasn’t a single one he’d encountered that he didn’t like or that didn’t like him. As far as Bobo went, from the way Ale spoke, he couldn’t be sure it was this magnetism or if there something else which made the dog more at ease around him. “Hah, it’s okay,” Rin assured her once she’d pulled the massive fluff from him. “He’s a good boy. Right, Bobo?” He reached out to rub the top of the dog’s head, unbothered by the drool dripping down his face and hair for the time being. He would need to wash off before meeting Ale’s parents, however. There was no way he’d greet them looking like a wild man. Bobo’s doing or not.
Alessandra couldn't help but laugh "Your dad was fine! Even if he did lost his clothes a few times. I honestly didn't mind." She couldn't help but smile up at her dear friend. Sincerity in her voice as she spoke to Rin about his parent, the older Fullbuster was so nice to her. She felt welcomed the moment she met him, similar to how she felt when she first met Rin. Just as all around good heart and pleasant personality. Alessandra's face flushed scarlet as she turned her head away, in sync with Rin's action of turning away. "Y-yeah.. well you know... I still remember when I first hugged you out of excitement. My parents are a bit the same way if not worse. Though..." a snicker could be heard in her next words as she teased her friend, "You're not as awkward to hug now as before." She couldn't help but tease him, that first few times she hugged him seemed almost like he didn't know how to hug. Though now she was pretty sure she just caught him off guard, it was still fun to tease him about it though. In addition to the teasing, it was a way to save them from the awkwardness of the words he had so casually said before. The butterflies still remained, tickling Alessandra's heart but she did her best to hide it. Repeating to herself that he didn't mean to phrase it like that and that the word love didn't have any actual meaning. Though her heart still hoped and fluttered. She seriously needed to talk to Rosa about this.. actually she needed to talk to Rosa in general. She wasn't at Balsam when the blonde came to small turns with her feelings towards her best friend. It was probably time for some girl time.
As the two continued to walk and talk the arrival of Alessandra's fluff of a dog had derailed previous conversations. To the book mage's delight her loveable guard dog had already taken a liking to Rin and Rin clearly showed affection towards Bobo. She grinned happily as Bobo allowed Rin to pet him and talk to him. "Well that's one less person I have to worry about. Last male that was close to me while Bobo was around had teeth marks sunk into his rear end. To no surprise though, he hates Damien. When he was a pup he chased Damien everywhere trying to bite him." The blonde sighed "Guess Bobo was just smarter than me for a while." Alessandra let go of Bobo's collar to give his scratches behind the ears. Only to get totally tackled right after. "Wah!" The S rank cried before getting muffed under the massive dog. Bobo whimpered and talked back to Alessandra as she spoke muffled words "Mumum mumu mumphmum mumum" The blonde was completely coved by the dog who was taller than she was from hind legs to the top of his head. The only this that even showed a person under the furball was the white ends of the dress Alessandra was wearing. The blonde struggled to push the big baby off of her before getting up. "I missed you too Bobo but do you really have to pin me down like that?" She questioned the giant dog who replied back with a loud woof followed by other odd noises. "Yes yes, I know. You just want snuggles." the blonde would talk to Bobo as if he could understand what she was saying, and every time she talked to him he would reply back. "You're a good boy Bobo." the blonde would say as she stroked the dogs face before kissing the furball on the top of the head. If only she could bring him with her home, but she knew that couldn't happen. "Lets keep going, not much further!" The book mage would smile up to her dearest friend before stepping forward to walk once more. Bobo walking along side them.

“Would you believe that was actually tame for him?” Rin scoffed, unwilling to let his dad off the hook so easily. “He’s a menace with that stripping habit of his. I don’t know how many times the soldiers have ticketed him for it. I’m just glad that we didn’t pick it up…or not that bad anyway.” There was no denying that the family habit of stripping had rubbed off at least a small bit on him. Rin tended to lose his shirt when overly excited. He counted his blessings Kaya didn’t strip in the slightest. “But, uh,” he cleared his throat. He’d been rambling again, turning the conversation awkward. “Yeah. I guess you could say I’ve gotten better at hugging. Now that I’ve gotten used to it. When you’ve got just a dad and a rival like Frieda, hugs are sorta weird. Kaya just likes to tackle.” His mouth quirked up in a grin. “Whatcha want to bet your parents aren’t nearly half as bad?” It was a challenge. One he wasn’t quite sure he’d win, but couldn’t resist issuing nonetheless. The way Ale talked about her parents gave him the impression they were over the top. Rin was curious to see just how much truth lay in such imagery. Besides, it allowed him to focus on something else other than his prior slip of the tongue. His heart still palpated from letting some of his feelings slip out. All he could do was hope she disregarded it and acknowledged the bet instead.
They continued to walk down the street, completely absorbed in their own world. Until Alessandra’s large fluff of a dog bounded towards them, breaking up their discussion. Rin laughed as Bobo slobbered and licked him. His generally messy blue hair now messier than before. “Bobo here? Mean?” Ocean blue orbs glinted. “You’re not mean, are ya boy?” He scratched and rubbed either side of the dog’s face. “You’re a smart boy,” he nodded. Bobo knew Damien was no good before anyone else seemed to catch on. That made him the smartest animal in the world, in Rin’s opinion. “I don’t blame him one bit for wanting to get hold of Damien. The guy’s nothing but trouble whenever we come across him. Hey,” the teenager looked thoughtful, “Maybe Bobo can travel with us and we can sic him on Damien if we cross paths again?!” The mental picture conjured as he spoke was too funny. He could just imagine Bobo angrily chasing the darker-haired man. Damien kicking up his heels as the dog nipped and snapped at his heels. And if he even tried to punch the dog, Rin would set him in the coldest block of ice he could muster. Of course, any response Ale might have had to his suggestion would be completely muffled and indecipherable. Bobo decided it was high time he got his snuggles in with his master.
Rin guffawed at the sight before him. The massive dog practically engulfed the blonde, leaving only a small strip of her dress showing. “Bobo, you may,” he tried to speak through his laughter. “You might wanna…let her up…” Whether at his request or Ale’s, the large canine did just that. “Does he—” Rin struggled to stifle his amusement. “Does he…always do that? It’s cute…how fond he is of you.”Not that I can blame him, the Devil Slayer added silently. Stretching out his arm, he petted the top of Bobo’s head. “Alright, just lead the way and I’ll be right beside you.” Rin beamed at her. He took a few seconds to pick up their gear before falling back into step beside his best friend. With Bobo walking alongside them, Rin felt content and at ease, ready to meet the Poes.
A brown haired male was roaming the streets, a calm expression on his face. He had been off work for quite a while after his last sucessful mission, it was about time for him to actually make a little bit of money to afford more food supplies since his own was running low after taking over that Bar. As his green eyes moved around the streets of Oak Town, he wondered just where he might be able to pick up his next job. Pushing a hand through his hair he shook his head, and spoke softly to no one in particular. " Maybe one of the guilds in the other towns has a job or two to take up, sometimes I can sneak my way into completing them if I meet with the person who posted the Quest....Unless Oak Towns Quest Board has been updated for the Mercaneries. But I doubt it. "
Letting out a sigh, he pulled his hood over his head and began to walk once again. Heading into the direction of the local Quest Board, he knew it was placed in the middle of town so that tiny jobs could be seen by everyone who went by. Sometimes it was simple quests like helping someone find a Lost Dog or Cat, more avergae quests like going out and taking down a bunch of monsters that had been hassleing some farmers or merchants on their way to town. Or the much more satisfying but harder quests related to Bandits or Dark Mages, it was rare to find some of those though since they usually aimed to send those straight to the Guilds. But since a guild wasn't located here, it was a tiny bit harder to send messangers with them so they occasionally would place it on there first, probably in the hopes that one of those Guild Member would see it.

All that cake from earlier that he ate was totally worth the stomach pain that he had felt for a short time. Apparently it wasn't a good idea to get up and move immediately after eating so many sweet. But, he had been drawn into a panic, as more and more people had began to enter the cake shop he was resting in. In his rush, he had no time to think about the consequences of his actions, and instead started to portal as far away from there as he could. Did he regret the pain at the time? Yes, but also no. But now, he was just sad that he had no more cake to much down on... and also he was only just now realizing that he had absolutely no idea where he was. "A-Ah... th-this is a... problem..." the male muttered quietly to himself, pulling hood further over his face to keep hidden from the eyes of those that would glance in his direction. Despite what his "roommates" had told him about how he looked, he was still incredibly self-conscious about his appearance. Especially the bandages that covered most of the left side of his face. "J-Just keep calm... take a few deep breaths... you'll... you'll be fine, Ly... you'll be fine..." he whispered quietly to himself as he continued to walk forward.
With how heavily he was breathing, and the way he was dressed and appeared, one would easily come to the conclusion that he might be some sort of stalker or pervert, searching for their next victim. But the cruel reality was that he was just an amalgamated ball of depression and anxiety, who was hopelessly lost right now. Usually he only went to places he had been with Alessandra or Rosa before, but since they were both busy, he had decided to go out for himself. He had been to Magnolia with them before, so he was just fine there (especially since he just followed the smell of cake). But this place, he was still unsure of. Sure, he could just ask one of the passerby where he was, but all that'd likely happen is he'd stutter a lot, start crying, and then be escorted to a guard or the like. And he really didn't want to trouble Alessandra or Rosa as he had the last few times this sort of thing happened. Being caught up in his thoughts, he hadn't realized the other man that he was walking towards; not until he ran into him, that is. "Ah! I-I'm sorry! P-Please don't... don't hurt me..." the male exclaimed, quickly backing up in terror.
"Now that we have carried everything on our shoulders... let's take it all back."

The Independent Mage couldnt help but close his eyes and stop walking for a few moments, he put a hand on the side of his cheek and tried to figure out just what he could do for the time being. He didn't exactly have a quest to do anything specific at the moment, after handling that group of Bandits and getting his Reward well....the only things he could think of was to go and see if the Guilds needed any help, but the brown haired male hated going into them with how most of them seemed to be...overly talkative and caused more problems than most would really expect. He pushed a hand under his hood and adjusted it, as if fixing it to make it look less like he was trying to just look like someone who was brooding and more like someone who was planning a big heist or assasination of sorts. His green eyes glowed beneath it for a moment before he pulled the hood right down over his eyes as well.
However, it quickly became apparent that his decision to stop moving did cause a bit of a run in with someone...rather strange. Like himself, the person who crashed into him was wearing a hood, but unlike him...the boy wasnt wearing armor while the independent mage was wearing what was best described as Armored Explorers Gear one would have used in Dungeons and Dragons or something of that like. He didnt even budge from being walked into, but when the reaction to this was someone backing up acting as if they had just ran into a monster he couldn't help but wonder if this person was nervous, previously running from something, or perhaps the fact they just bumped into someone in general had spooked them so much. He scratched the side of his face, before bowing his head slightly to the person and responding to him calmly.
"No, theres no need to apologize. I wasn't actually paying attention to my surronding otherwise I probably would have moved out of your way. I have no intentions of hurting you for simply walking into me. I will say you should be more careful, there is some types out there who would. Which you seem to know already from your...reaction to it. " With a raise of his hand he approached and patted the person on the shoulder before saying," Actually, its a good thing you bumped into me...You see, I'm kind of...bored right now, and need something to do. I dont have any quests on hand, and I really don't wish to walk into a guild...so want to be my first friend in this town? Or, chat to become friends?"

He was only speaking his final rites in his head. Apologizing to his parents, his sister, his uncle, and all of his friends. He truly thought that this was going to be the end for him. As such, he was rather taken aback when the man in front of him suddenly bowed his head slightly. Was this some sort of ritual for this stranger he had accidentally run into? Was this something he always did before he was about to murder someone? As the man started to speak, Lysande drowned out most of what he was saying, his heartbeat hammering within his eardrums, the markings under the bandages on his body glowing and pulsating wildly. Though thankfully that all was out of view, and not able to be seen by the stranger before him. When Lysande finally felt the hand on his shoulder, that was when he accepted the end of it all. He looked towards the ground, and awaited a blade to be stabbed into his chest, or his head lopped off his shoulders. So, of course, his surprise and confusion suddenly went flying off the charts. "... E-Eh? Eh!?" were the only sounds he could stammer out.
The male backed up a bit, putting a hand to his head and leaning against the nearest inanimate object, suddenly feeling dizzy and sick. He could've swore his soul had just left his body... or maybe it was the aftereffects of all that cake he ate? In either case, he managed to regain his composure after a few short moments, able to stand up (albeit a bit shaky in the knees) somewhat straighter than he had been, to be able to face towards the man before him once more. "F-Friends? G-Guilds? Th... this town? I don't... even know where... I am..." the male muttered, at a total loss for words right now. One second he was ready to embrace his death, and now the man he thought to be his assassin was now asking to be friends? Not that he was exactly complaining, but the sudden flip in his cognition suddenly caused him great confusion. "F-Friends... friends? Y-Yeah... being friends sounds... nice. My name is... Lysande Bländande Lychnus av Stjärnor..." he stated, giving a slight nod to the one before him. Rosa and Ale told him to make friends, right? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad...
The brown haired male blinked a few times, his eyes showing under the hood, if the other hooded male was looking at him he would have seen this bizarre look of confusion on his face since he didnt really know what was running through this persons head. He reached up and removed his own hood, revealing the pretty normal looking face other than the glowing eyes as they seemed to scan this figure a bit without him really meaning to do so. He raised a eyebrow at him, before taking a deep breath as the male finally calmed down after resting his body against the wall. He continued to apologize, bowing his head again slightly. "Sorry for scarring you a bit it seems, it happens often..."
He then rose his head, and smiled at the hooded male kindly, before holding a hand out to him in a effort to shake his hand, as he spoke," Well...Theses are the Streets of Oak Town, I dont really know my way around this place but...this happens to be where you are right now, and its nice to meet you Lysande....Can I call you Ly for short? It'll be a bit hard for me to say that fully, my name is Ethan Cross. But feel free to refer to me however you wish. So, tell me about yourself new friend?" He pulled his hood back up to match his new comrade, he hoped they could actually become friends after all
Scaring him? WHat the other man didn't realize was that he nearly gave Lysande a heart attack! Although the hooded man would never admit such a thing, especially to his new friend. "D-Don't worry about it... it's fine... it's fine now." he replied, doing his best to give a smile. Was it always this hard to smile? Apparently he would have to practice doing such things more often. He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment before looking away, hoping to find something to distract him from this awkward meeting. Maybe a sign that would reveal where he was? Or maybe even another sweets shop to buy more candy and cake at. Then again, he didn't really need to eat more cake at the moment, as he was still working off the whole thing he ate earlier.
His eyes turned back to face his new friend, noticing he had held out a hand. Was this... the fabled handshake of friendship!? Oh, he didn't know how to shake hands yet! He wasn't prepared for this! In a slow motion type of manner, he slowly reached for the other man's hand with his bandaged one, grabbing his fingers and simply moving his arm up and down. "Is... is this how a handshake works?" he asked, obviously confused at such an act. When he finally received the name of the town he was in, his heart seemed to pick up once again. This was where Ale's parents lived! He almost started crying again, but due to happiness this time, but managed to stop himself before the waterworks began. "E-Eh? Yeah! That's fine. Ly is a nickname I'm rather used to." the male replied, giving a slight nod. When Ethan asked him to talk a bit more about himself, Lysande's face and mind went blank. "Uh... I'm part of Lamia Scale... I don't really know what else to say..." he replied, pulling his hood a bit further over his face in embarrassment.
Both of these two people seemed to have issues dealing with people, one of them was quiet and shy and the other was talkative yet awkward with how he spoke and acted. Skipping over introductions and trying to befriend someone after awkwardly and rudely bumping into someone wasnt something a normal person would even attempt, although he bet that if it had been one of the Dark Guild he had...interacted with recently theyd have already been in the middle of a brawl. He continued to give a kind smile, despite noticing the embaressment and...seemingly forced smile his new acquaintance was taking on. " Thats good at least...fine is good...right?" He questioned almost as if he was musing that question towards himself and not expecting a response, he then continued to speak to Ly. As he reached out to shake his hand as well.
When the boy reached over and their hands met he smiled even wider, and his eyes glowed a bit as he noticed the bandages on the males hands. His own bandaged arms probably would have stood out as well but thankfully he was wearing long sleeves that hid that little feature of his own, he squeezed the hand a bit tightly before letting go and responded," Yeah, more or less. You can move your hand up and down as well if that actually harms your arm at some point... And thats a relief." He let out a small sigh, putting a hand over his chest. Glad that he wouldnt be accidentally offending him by shortening his name. "Thats fine, I dont really know what else to say either...Lamia Scale huh? Thats the guild with the Snake Lady design...right? Uhhh..." He then reached back behind his hood and scratched the back of his head, already running out of conversation," Uhhh.... Hm...Anything on your mind you wanna talk about? Like...before we bumped into each other?"
Lysande nodded at the man's question about Lamia Scale. The guild with the serpent lady design; a fabled "lamia" of Greek mythology. The lower body of a snake, and the upper body of a woman. He wasn't entirely sure what else to say, even with Ethan asking if there was anything else on his mind that he wanted to talk about. Now that he started thinking about it, he did have many things he on his mind, but he wasn't entirely sure what order to addressed them in. One thing was where the heck Rosa and Ale were. He hadn't seen either of them in quite a while, and was slowly growing more worried by the second. Maybe that was why he seemed to be a lot more jumpy than he normally was. "W-Well... there is... o-one... thing..." the male muttered, rubbing his arm. "Have you seen anyone that goes by the nickname Ale... or a girl named Rosa?" he asked, going on to give descriptions of the two girls he was looking for. If Ethan was a traveling Mage, then there was a chance that he may have come across one of the two. Slim as a chance it may have been, it was better than not asking at all.
