Aedre sat alone in the cafeteria, sipping quietly at the latte snuggly tucked between his clawed, fluffy hands. It was a good day, quiet and serene. There wasn't much else that the boy could ask for. Except, perhaps, a little company.

Aedre's only friends were so much older than him -- not exactly people you could confidently bring back to the folks -- nor ones you could hang out with at school on your lunch break. Luckily, Aedre wasn't truly lonely, but he did wish for someone his own age he could relate to.

For now, he had his hot cup of joy to entertain him, sketches of building designs scattered on the table before him. This was his routine. He'd find a table near the window, and on particularly sunny days, the imp would start sketching. Some of the buildings he designed were fantastical and complete fantasy. Others were sleek and tall, ones you'd find in big cities. And others were old-fashioned, straight out of history books.

There was a plethora of cottages, sky scrappers, cathedrals, and more all scattered over the table. The imp had spent most of his free time drawing them, and now, with the lunch break coming to a close, his latte was finally the perfect temperature to drink and enjoy at a snail's pace.

Another day full of studying; also known as a perfect day according to the Baphomet teen boy, Quentin. As he reached the cafeteria, he looked around for a place to sit. He never really felt comfortable in crowded places so the middle or front of the cafeteria was a no go. However there was no other outskirt tables left over.... well there was one with only one person at it.

Quentin sucked in a deep breath and slowly let it go. If there was anything his few friends were teaching him, it was to be a little more social. So he slowly made his way to the table, seeing the other and biting his lip. He could do this... he COULD DO THIS! "May I-I please sit with you?" He asked sofly, trying to smile though it looked for nervous than anything.

---

Aedre had been softly humming to himself, but slowly stopped and glanced up with curious orange eyes as he heard the voice of someone who sounded rather nervous pipe up. Blinking his large, feminine eyes, the boy gave a rather friendly smile as he spotted that Baphomet it seemed to come from.

"Oh, of course. Please, make yourself comfortable. Let me just move my papers to give you some room."

Aedre set his latte down, somewhere he didn't have to risk knocking it over with his large, fluffy arms, collecting his sketches and drawings as quickly as he could without wrecking them, then slid them in to a plastic sheet to keep them safe.

"Is that enough room?" he asked, trying to be as considerate as possible.

---

Quentin was hyperventilating in the inside... that is until the other smiled to him and was more than friendly. "O-Oh? Thanks. That's more than enough room." A small smile crossed his lips as he took a seat and sat his science books onto the table. He opened one of his books to the chapter review and pulled out a baggie filled with various veggies. He couldn't help but look up to the other that had kindly shared their table. In all honesty, the imp was pretty cute.

Quentin's face flushed as he looked down at his book and tossed a tomato into his mouth... quietly eating it. He briefly looked up to the other, extending the little baggy. "Would... you like some?" He asked, wondering if the other was hungry.

---

Aedre had been happy for the quiet company. The boy who had joined him at his table had a nice, pleasant, quiet energy, despite the nervous vibes he got from the boy. He went about his business, not wanting to force a conversation to happen, and so Aedre pulled out a binder from his bag, pulling apart the three-rings with his hands instead of using the tabs on the ends to open it, sliding the plastic sheet with all his sketches in to the binder.

Just as he pushed the metal rings back together and neatly tucked the binder away in to his bag once more. With a content, pleased expression, the imp grabbed his latte in his hands again, about to lift it to take a sip just as a small, plastic bag was offered to him.

Aedre blinked lucidly, but soon a smile blossomed on his lips. "Thank you! How kind." Aedre gratefully accepted, reaching his hand in to the bag to grab out a piece of celery to munch on with a subtle crunch.

"Mmn! I love fresh veg."

----

Quentin calmed a bit more as the other boy seemed to be just as calm and quiet as him... thank the nine. He was really glad the other accepted his offer and with a smile he sat the bag between them. "Oh, I'm glad! I... actually grew these in my little garden." He explained, smiling at the little baby carrot he plucked out of the baggy. "I love carrots and tomatoes best... even if tomatoes aren't the easiest to grow." He mused, looking up to Aedre. "O-Oh... My name is Quentin.. by the way." He looked to the other binder, curiously looking over the page that had been exposed. "Oh?... you design houses? or is.. that a project?" he asked curiously.

---

"Aedre." the imp replied in kind as the boy introduced himself. "I've heard that about tomatoes ... why do you think they're so difficult? Do they just need a more sturdy, stable foundation than some other vegetables? I've always been curious about landscaping, but had never considered growing or raising a garden. It's an interesting perspective." Aedre leaned in a little, plucking a carrot out from the bag, pleasantly surprised by how sweet it was. Carrots when naturally grown were such interesting, odd shapes and had some rather fascinating colours, "Did you know carrots were originally blue? Or was it purple. One of those colours ... I don't remember why they're orange now. That's why you get white carrots, purple carrots, yellow carrots ... all sorts when you grow them on your own. What colour frequents your garden the most?" Aedre was actually curious.

Though, his curiosity faltered a little as his interest was drawn away from the hand grown food between them, and returned to his binder of idle works.

"Ah!" He began excitedly. "Sort of. Not really? I mean, one day I hope they'll be both! You could say buildings might be my passion."

---

Quentin was quite pleased the other seemed interested in one of his favorite hobbies... not many others were. "Aedre? Nice to meet you." He replied politely before listening to the other talk about gardening. "For the tomatoes, they need a lot of light and moist air. So you really have to find the perfect spot for them in order to have them flourish." He chimed in, enjoying conversing with the other. "I could teach you how to garden, if you'd like." He offered before being sucked back into the conversation, smiling brightly as his little fluff of a tail vibrated excitedly. "Oh, Purple probably as carrots are usually orange, red, yellow, white and purple. Though the white ones seem to love my garden most." He mused, thinking of his luscious garden.

He smiled more, "I hope I can see some of these buildings you've drawn." He mentioned, reaching over to look at one of the pages... looking to Aedre before for permission.

---

Aedre's mouth twisted a little bit. He had never had anybody ask after his sketches before. A small flutter of nervousness spread through his chest as he looked down at his binder of drawings. Should he? It's not like the Baphomet would run off with his work, anyways. What was the big deal?

Flipping open the binder once more, Aedre turned it around so it was the right way up for his new friend. "Alright, here you go ... you'll have to tell me what you think, though. I have it organized by building type ... there's some fantasy ones and some more realistic, if either of those interest you."

--

Quentin smiled, happy the other was willing to share their ideas with him. "Wow, you have fantasy ones too?" He said in awe as he looked through the binder. "These are amazing." He mused, looking at the design. He smiled softly, looking up to Aedre, "You should make my house when we are older." He laughed softly.

"You are really good at architecture!" He said again, amazed as he moved on to the fantasy one. He looked over every detail of his favorite of the others sketches, letting out a soft happy sigh. He closed the binder, looking up to Aedre. "Thank you for sharing that with me... I never realized how much imagination it took to architect buildings. You're amazing.... I certainly couldn't do that half as well as you!" He complemented.
