Nanyehi drew in a deep breath. The smell of freshly bloomed flowers filled her nostrils. Their scents taking up every available inch of space, winding further into her senses. Yes, the flowers of this forest were alive and well. “These flowers are doing nicely.” The tiny Usdia smiled as she spoke. Her dark green eyes lowering to the ground where her bonded skittered along the forest floor. “I must say, I am impressed with this forest. It appeared dark at first but the flowers and animals seem to thrive with it.” “Maybe they’ve adjusted to it?” Mousse, the small mouse friend of Nanyehi, offered up by way of explanation. While they traveled all over the lands, they had yet to come across a forest such as the one they currently found themselves in. It was fairly large, with a wide variety of fauna and flora to be found. Nanyehi mentioned that the forest called to her before they entered. Now Mousse could see why.

“Perhaps.” The mare bobbed her head noncommittally. A thoughtful expression lit upon her face as her eyes slowly roved. “Whatever the case, it is thriving. Which makes me happy.” One of the saddest things Nanyehi could ever witness would be the destruction of a forest. Whether by natural disaster, or more mortal intrusions, her heart cried out whenever a forest died, saddened by the lost souls of those animals and plants within. However, this forest was far from death or destruction. It carried a vibrancy about it that struck the Usdia as unique and lively. I wonder… She pondered over the good fortune of the forest. Could there be a caretaker here which protects you? The idea was not entirely unjustified. Many of the flourishing plants she’d come across possessed protectors of varying degrees. Some were less effective than others, but it did open the realm of possibilities. “Hmmm…”
