Happens directly following Enharmonic Interval Suttungr cradled his Mauvian friend against his chest, enjoying the softness against the spaces of bare flesh his uniform allowed. Eta's presence was comforting to the new senshi who's brain was over-full of new information about the magical life that had opened to him. That was why he didn't notice the shadowy creature zipping off into the early time, and it was too far away for either Suttungr or Eta to hear or see the shadow reporting to a curly haired lieutenant. What they would notice - quite handily - was when said lieutenant quickly but carefully made his way closer and then stepped out to block their path. Teleportation was something he coveted - it would have made his life so much easier. Much less cardio. "What's...it feels gross.--" Is this the Negaverse? Suttungr was a bit stunned when someone in dark, militant clothing appeared before them like some sort of black magic. Keyite smiled at the Mauvian and her attendant, pushing his glasses up with a shark-like smile. "Well, isn't this a lovely surprise. I thought I felt a surge of power." While the officer spoke, the senshi clutched at Eta just a bit more tightly - the aura coming off the guy was nauseating and he wasn't confident that they were going to be alright through this probably attack. "Oh, how rude of me. I'm lieutenant Keyite and with your miscalculation, you both are now my prey."

What it all boiled down to was that Eta should have been paying attention. She had been aware of something lurking nearby, which was why she had been met with the urge to awaken the young man as Sailor Suttungr and in her excitement at his excitement and eagerness to learn she had ceased tracking it. In the comfort of his arms she could have easily started dozing and when she should have picked up on the nearing presence of Chaos it all but slipped her senses until Suttungr's comment. The air had taken on a distinctly unpleasant prickle, her fur raising on her back as she resisted the feral urge to hiss. Unless he was incredibly uneducated, the Negaverse agent would know that she was a Mauvian based solely by the star on her forehead. "Don't let him frighten you, Suttungr. He's a Lieutenant, which means no matter how long he's been playing this game he has no more power than you do. You have the advantage here in that you have something he does not... And you also have me." Senshi possessed magic; their gift from the cosmos, powered by the celestial body they drew their name from. With 'violence' as a sphere she could only hope that his magic would be offensive and if not? Well, she knew a trick or two....

It prickled along his spine, the Chaos aura; calling rise to something inside that wanted to tear it apart, to break it and make it leave...but to Suttungr, both things were scary in that 'oh s**t I have a week to learn an entire show' sort of way. But just as he would have hunkered down and pushed to learn a show, he held his ground with the Lieutenant. Keyite laughed, a bright but oddly malevolent sound - like it had been twisted by Metallia's touch - and took a step toward them. "I wouldn't believe everything your Mauvian tells you, baby senshi. They're just as fallible as any." "How about we make this easy, give me the cat, and you can go free." He knew Mauvians were worth far, far more than any senshi, and while he would have liked to net both magical beings, one would be enough. Suttungr responded to the sneering voice by shifting Eta to one arm and clenching his right fist at his side. "Not a ********' chance. You want one of us, you get us by force or not at all." To Eta, still safe for now cradled against his chest, "So...how do I kick his a**?"

Eta's laughter sounded just as easily as the Lieutenant's did, the sound light and airy at the very idea that it would be so easy to take her as just passing her from hand to hand. Her amusement ceased only as she felt Suttungr's grip on her shift, causing her to wriggle and back out of his grasp in order to drop down to the pavement beside him. "You fight him with everything you have," she stated simply, eyes bright as she watched him. "Listen to Suttungr. Just as it whispered its name to you, it will tell you how to use your magic against this misguided child. Whatever weapon he has is most likely useless, but that doesn't mean he won't know how to fight back. I'll help in any way I can."

With both hands free and Eta still safely at his side, it was easier to focus on the low thrum of magic that came with his transformation. "Oh, in that case...don't mind if I do!" Suttungr went right for the lieutenant, fists swinging. He'd get his magic going when it wanted to happen, he could feel it. Keyite dodged the first few blows in a manner that suggested he might possibly be part serpent though he appeared wholly human, but the first time either connected, it was Suttungr with the blond's stomach. The impact of fist against solid meat was a heady thing and it called to the magic. Keyite jumped back with a wheeze but didn't stay down long. Going on the offensive, the lieutenant picked up a stick and came in swinging, clocking the senshi upside the head in a manner that was sure to leave him with a headache. Suttungr hadn't been paying nearly as much attention as he should have, too busy trying to feel out his magic, so he took the blow hard and stumbled to his knees. "I told you, you're my prey. If I must take you by force, then so be it." The bespectacled man grabbed the front of Suttungr's costume and hoisted him as if to throw - or perhaps take his star seed - but was angry and gloating enough to leave himself open to interference. Determined to not let Suttungr's first fight be his last, Eta pondered her options for joining in on the fight carefully. She watched as her newest charge interacted with the Lieutenant, paying special mind to his lack of focus in order to give him feedback on that later. The mauvian wouldn't blame him for it, of course-- couldn't, really, when she had told him to direct his attention elsewhere. "Alright, that's enough," she muttered, more to herself than to either of the two young men. She closed her eyes, focusing all of her own power internally, drawing what magic she had access to up to the star on her forehead. Once it was charged and before the Lieutenant could do any lasting damage to Suttungr she let her forehead laser rip, aiming it as best she could. "Leave him be!"

Suttungr heard Eta's voice, then a flash of light that broke over the lieutenant - or seemed to, anyway. Can all of them do that, or just Eta...? He had no idea that the Mauvian Guardians had power like that - a beam of light? magic? both? that came from the stars on their foreheads - but that really wasn't too surprising, considering just a few minutes ago he'd just been your average, every-day American college 'kid'. He felt himself slipping from the lieutenant's grip, heard a pained grunt, and gave one himself as he fell to his knees, then hands. His gloves surprisingly helped keep his palms from being skinned badly. Keyite had let go of the Mauvian's charge and tried to move out of the way of the oncoming beam, but he'd not be quick enough and the Mauvian's star magic hit him hard in the side and stomach, where he'd already been hit. It took his breath away, but worse still, the angle he'd been struck sent him spinning away and down onto the path where they'd been fighting, face first. There was a sickening crunch as the plastic of his spectacle frames cracked, but the officer was extremely pleased to find that when he lifted his head they stayed put. This would go very badly if they broke, I need to end this. Dammit, why didn't I carry my bow tonight?Saved by a cat. Magical powers. Transforming pens. Today is so weird. The senshi rose to his feet, swaying a bit as he was still somewhat disoriented, but as his senses cleared, he felt it. Like the low rumble of a tympani or the roar of a collegiate football crowd, magic coursed through his veins and helped steady him. Keyite rose up, summoned his weapon, and sent the antique key flying in Eta's direction. If he couldn't have them, he was going to make damned sure they were as damaged as he was. That was the absolute worst thing he could have done apparently, because the eye-sore of a senshi made a horrible snarling noise and turned so they were square on before launching himself forward. The lieutenant backed away under the onslaught of blows, even going so far as to pick the stick from earlier back up so he could use it to block, parry, and inflict his own blows. Physically, the senshi had range on him, both in height and in reach, so Keyite was unable to get in close as he'd need to. The stick did help, and twice he had the satisfaction of watching the eye-sore react as though hurt. Granted, Suttungr had more blows land, but whatever physical boost the Negaverse provided their officers proved enough that the blond didn't falter or fall. Unfortunately for Keyite, that just served to piss off Suttungr more and more, until he was ready to throttle the officer to death, if only he could get his hands on him! Wait...I can't, but...maybe... It was there, on the tip of his tongue. The words that would send the Negaverse packing. "I said--" Suttungr drew one fist back as a brilliant ruby light seemed to surround it, "<********. OFF! Suttungr's Searing Slam! And then he threw a punch that not only could reach Keyite properly, but that looked as though it burst into flames against his stomach and chest after sending him skidding backwards. "Is...he on fire?" Suttungr looked at his fist with surprise, then back at the flailing and very undignified lieutenant. Who was not on fire, sadly, though his costume now had a large chunk missing to show off his reddened and bruising torso, but who was badly injured from being hit in the same spot multiple times with magic. "I'll remember you- both of you! You're dead, you hear that? Worse than dead, I'll give you to Metallia as toys!" Keyite snarled and held his stomach and bolted, whistling sharply into his communicator to call his 'borrowed' youma for the evening so it could take him back to the Rift. Suttungr just stood there, incredulous. Looking down at Eta, he wiped a bit of blood from his temple where the stick's rough edge had damaged his skin. "Did that...really just happen?"

"Stars and stones. Sounded like a regular villain out of a novel intended for young adults. I'll remember you-- both of you!" The slender feline rolled her eyes, the expression far too human for her features. Her tone was mockingly sarcastic, but also entirely weary. Using her magic took more out of her than she liked to admit. Too out of practice and without all of her proper equipment.... Her ears flicked as Suttungr spoke, head cocking in his direction. "I apologize, Suttungr. I should have picked up on his presence... Before he attacked-- you sensed him, didn't you? They will be able to sense you too, so while you might heal faster if you stay powered up it might be safer for you if you power down." Eta took a deep breath, grounding herself before finally looking up at the senshi directly. "Are you alright, Suttungr? He didn't hurt you too badly, did he?"

He couldn't help snickering a little at Eta's estimation of their opponent; she was right, the guy had sounded like some YA novel villain. Was that because he was also young-ish? Or because he was stupid? Or both? I don't care, as long as he's gone. Eta sounded exhausted, and Suttungr knelt next to her with concern. "I felt something? But I didn't know what it was." He took her advice and returned to the guise of a mild-mannered band geek in sports wear. "Honestly, I'm fine. I've had worse scrapes being on the flag line. Are you okay? You sound tired, Eta." Tired or not, Felix would scoop up the little tabby and hold her in the cradle of his arms again - not just for her, but also for him. "Do you want to go rest at my place? I was gonna work out today but after that I think it's a Netflix kinda day." Did he get to keep Eta? No, she belongs with Corvus. Maybe she'll stick around for a little bit though...

"Using my magic is... Taxing, to say the least." Eta closed her eyes, butting her head lightly against his chest. "One day, when you aren't fighting against an officer you will have to see what your magic's limit is so you aren't caught unaware." She wanted to continue talking to him, prattling on and letting him know everything that he would need to know and more, but the early morning hour along with the energy that had been spent were both starting to wear her down. "Rest sounds wonderful." As did a cup of tea, and maybe some soothing music. Netflix might not be bad either, honestly, depending on what his taste in television was. "As long as you don't mind company, I'm yours for the day, Felix."

"It was pretty impressive. Can't say I'm surprised." She might have been his magical talking feline godmother or something, but she was also a feline and so snuggling into his arms seemed to be exactly the ticket. "Sometime, yeah absolutely. Whenever you say, Eta." He pressed his face against her soft fur for a moment, then straightened. "Okay, to my place it is. We can put on some Sherlock or a cooking show...or whatever you like. I'll let you pick." Obviously he was pleased by her coming with him, but even so he carried the exhausted feline with a smoothness learned on the marching field. Felix's apartment was a tiny one, with a single room, kitchenette, and laundry/bathroom. But it was clean and he had a full sized bed they could settle on and watch Netflix, once he'd gotten them both something to drink and maybe eat.
