Weird s**t happened in Destiny City. Like subways becoming monsters, or strange costumed kidnappings, or people being found dead in alleys with no discernible medical reasoning behind their demise. He knew this because his mother happened to be one of the medical examiners for the City and because he liked to stay informed. Music might have been his life, but he was an inquisitive creature by nature, so putting his nose where it wasn't necessarily needed was de rigueur. Felix was out jogging in grey sweats and a dark blue athletic shirt in the wee hours of the morning when he spotted a very pretty cat, one that looked as though it had no right to be outside. Obviously it was a pampered house pet, so what was it doing out? He slowed, then stopped near the silver spotted feline and started speaking slow and easy, trying to not spook it. "Hey there kitty, what's going on? Did your people lock you out accidentally? C'mere pretty baby, I just wanna see if you have a collar, get you home." In bushes shrouded with shadows and laced with dew, something stirred and then went still before it gained Felix' attention. "What a lovely marking on your forehead, is that a star? How cool." The silver tabby's head cocked to the side as she watched the human. He seemed relatively normal for someone out at this time. Although the sky had started to lighten it wasn't close enough to dawn for the sun to have started its climb into the sky. Was this a routine for him to be out this early? Or was it just burning off excess energy as her senshi often did when she'd been thinking too much into the late night hours? Her tail ticked behind her as she watched him with large, teal eyes, brows lofting in an almost human expression as he inched closer. There was something else about him; something nagging and pulling at the edge of her senses to the point that it made her whiskers twitch. But wait... Was it him? Or was it whatever was lurking not far from them? The hair on her back bristled, coat fluffing as she lifted herself onto all fours. The feline trotted closer to the young man, letting out a soft mrrp followed by a meow as she butted her head against his shin. It was one way to keep his attention, at least.

She really was a pretty little thing, with gorgeous, jewel-like eyes. Felix thought it was a little odd that she seemed to be emoting in an almost human manner with her expressions, but chalked it up to the lighting and also human propensity to anthropomorphize animals when interacting with them. "That's it beautiful, come here. God but you're pretty aren't you? And so soft. There's no way you're an outdoor cat." Felix crouched when she headbutted his shin and made cute kitty sounds in greeting. "Hi kitty, I'm Felix. What's your name, hmm?" Since she seemed welcoming, he reached out gently to run calloused fingers over her head and back, trying to see a collar - unfortunately it didn't really look like she had any identification. A really neat necklace-collar thing that looked like bird wings, but no ID tags anywhere on it. "Oh no, that's not good. Maybe you have a microchip? You're too sweet to be left out here..." There was a vet downtown, he could take her there... if she let him. Cats weren't usually really keen on being handled by people they didn't know. Whatever had made the bushes move seemed to have either gone or gone still, leaving feline and human to their morning.

She humored the young man for a moment, arching her back towards his touch as she brushed up against his hand only to pause and let him carefully examine her necklace. When she felt that he'd done enough touching she brought a paw up to stop him, pressing back against his hand only to lightly bat at him in a more typically 'feline' manner afterwards. The odd feeling persisted, however, nagging and needling while leaving her feeling entirely ill at ease. Whatever was lurking nearby might have gone still but she could still feel it and when it layered with whatever else it was she was feeling... Oh. Wait. She knew! She knew what the secondary sensation was. Old, but familiar, nudging like a reminder of something she had long forgotten. "Eta. My name is Eta, Felix, and it is my pleasure to meet you... Especially as I believe we might be in for an interesting morning." As if the sudden conversation coming from the silver tabby wasn't strange enough, the petite feline stepped back away from him just far enough to turn a somersault in the air to magically produce what appeared to be a pen, simple and sleep with a symbol standing out clearly. "I believe this is yours, Felix. If you'll just pick it up, please...."

Felix was thoroughly enjoying petting the pretty feline though he continued to worry about finding her human and getting her back where she was meant to be. When she batted his hand away he put both up and laughed a little, "Okay, I get you -- that's enough." But if she were starting to get annoyed with the attention, how in the world would he get her back home. And then she did the most miraculous thing, she opened her little mouth and spoke. It stunned him enough that his first thought was that she had a really pretty voice and a pretty name. "N-nice to...meet...you....wait, you're a cat and you're talking?" Then she flipped in the air and made a magical stick appear. A stick that she said was his. As if in a daze, he picked up the bright stick and spun it through his fingers like a baton; it was weighted well and actually felt right in his hand somehow. "You're a talking cat...and this stick is mine? Uh...this is weird. Am I dreaming? Hallucinating?"

"I wish I could lie to you and tell you that you were dreaming, hallucinating either. I certainly haven't done you any favors, but I assure you that the pen is yours. I'm never wrong about things like this." Her voice took on an almost sad tone as she watched him retrieve his pen. Eta was proud of each and every senshi that she had ever awakened, of that she was certain even if she could not clearly remember them all, but she wasn't cruel. She didn't wish the war on those who weren't expecting it. "There's something nearby. I can sense it... And you'll be able to as well once you use that pen. Just hold it in your hand, as you are now, and focus. Listen to it, just as you are listening to me-- you are a sailor soldier and it is incredibly important at this moment that you listen for your name."

For some reason, Eta's gentle tone with it's undercurrents of sadness really affected Felix, "So...this is real." He looked at the brightly coloured stick in his hand, the smooth shaft of it, the rounded head with it's symbol that felt strangely satisfying under his fingers. Being told there was something near by was alarming - were they going to be alright? Did it have something to do with his new stick and magical talking cat? "O..kay. I'll try." Because really, what else could he do? This was so weird but with how ******** Destiny City tended to be, it wasn't completely out of the realm of possibility. "Is this...part of the costumed terrorist stuff? It is, isn't it..." I can't be part of that! But...if I am...then I can help stop the deaths maybe? s**t, I guess I'll just do what she's telling me. Felix closed his eyes and tightened his hold on the stick; it felt stupid at first, but then there was a soft quiet warmth welling up from inside. A feeling like a voice but not quite, thrumming through his veins until he felt it on his lips. "Suttungr." There was something else too, he could feel it - there was something he could do with the stick. "This...baton. I feel like...it does something. Like it's part of me." "How do I use it, Eta?"

"Hold your pen up before you and repeat after me, no matter how foolish it sounds. I won't have you paying the words no mind because you're a young man, understood? Pen up? Good." As she spoke to him she straightened herself out, holding petite feline shoulders high as she sat back. "Suttungr Power, Make Up!" Eta spoke the words as clearly as she could, expecting him to do just as he'd been told. He had already done so well and she was so very proud of him already, something she hoped he would also be able to hear in her voice.

Once more Eta gave him instruction, a steadying force to guide him - and maybe it was silly for him to be so trusting with a magical talking cat, but she had let him pet her. She'd given him a gift that felt like a missing part of him was back...Felix was going to continue doing as she said. With that in mind, he rose to his feet and looked at the stick -- pen -- before lifting it above his head as Eta instructed. She seemed quite pleased with him, which was nice; Felix licked his lips before repeating the phrase the Mauvian spoke. "Suttungr Power, Make Up!" As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Felix was enveloped in a red magic that swirled about until the entirety of his fuku had materialized and he was standing before Eta as Sailor Suttungr. "Holy s**t-- that was magic." The newly minted senshi turned this way and that, looking at his costume, the heavy material of his fuku, the harder material of his bracers. Suttungr apparently had kitten heels, but oddly enough he found balance was easy. "Is this a...fist?" How strange! The brunet touched the gold of his brooch and looked wonderingly at Eta. "What am I?"

"Wonderful! You, darling, are absolutely wonderful." The slender silver feline practically pranced around him before pausing by his side to gently place a paw upon his boot. She had not been here for the awakening of Sailor Corvus and she had missed each and every one of her own senshi's pivotal moments of progression between upgrades. She had somehow forgotten just how perfect it was to find a senshi and to be there with them for this life shaping moment. " You are Sailor Suttungr, Sailor Soldier -- senshi-- of Violence and it will be my pleasure to answer any questions that you might have. It is very important that we make sure that you learn as much as you can; for your safety as well as the safety of those around you."

Her praise washed over him sweetly; if nothing else, Felix Smith was a big momma's boy and Eta felt like a magical mother, kind of. She was there for his 'birth' as Suttungr and she was guiding him like a mother would. "Thanks, Eta. This is incredible, I'll admit, I'm kinda not sure if this is real or what but..." But he was trying to believe and the power that he felt flowing through him with his transformation - paired with a magical talking cat - made it seem even realer. "Senshi of Violence...." He clenched his fist and then crouched down closer to Eta's level again. "So...I'm guessing there are a lot more 'senshi'...are there a lot more talking cats?" There was obviously a lot more for him to learn and Felix was eager to learn, to get started. "Is there like, a course I can take or a book or something? How does all of this work? I'm guessing there's a 'bad guy' that I'm supposed to fight?"

"There are many in Destiny City, just as there are many dangers. There are far more senshi than there are talking cats-- Mauvians, that's what we are, or Guardian Cats if we aren't bringing our former homes into the equation." Her tale started as one might imagine the opening introduction to the main story of a popular game and it was clear she took her role as narrator and guide very seriously. She very much wanted to make certain that he had all of the information that he needed in order to be safe and succeed, especially after the stories that she had heard of the early Guardians from Corvus. "Sailor Corvus is my... Well, I suppose if I were to put it in simple terms I would say that she is my person. If she were here she would say that there are no courses, but there is practice." She could hear the senshi's voice in her head as she spoke the words and that made her smile. "There are no books, but at one point someone did put together what they've called a 'Senshi Primer'. You can access that through your ph--- stars. I'm forgetting things already." The dainty feline stepped back away from the fledgling senshi, this time forgoing another flip through the air in favor of turning a quick circle on the ground. When she paused again it was to nudge an archaic looking cell phone towards the senshi. "This is yours now. It is a communication device that will let you call for help when needed. There is an upgrade available to the device, but I'm afraid I didn't bring the necessary parts with me. It looks more like the sort of phone I'm certain you're used to." Not to be distracted again she paused to look up to him, tail flicking behind her. "Our enemy is the Negaverse. They are agents of Chaos and while they are not all inherently bad they have been corrupted and are more susceptible to terrible things. It is our job to stop them, and their leaders, from taking over our home."

Suttungr listened carefully as Eta spun her important tale; there was a lot of really fascinating information being offered to him and some of it might need to be told to him again at a later date, but most of it would sink in as intended. "I'd like to meet her. Maybe she could help me learn to be a good senshi." He watched again with wonder as a rather archaic style cellphone materialized and was given to him. Being told there would be an upgrade to something a bit more familiar to his cell usage was nice, but he wasn't going to push or complain - he was given these things, it would be rude to not accept them graciously. He wasn't certain what to do with the phone, but being distracted listening to Eta meant that he accidentally dismissed the phone to subspace. Suttungr might have been worried, but he felt that he could bring it back at will, which he did before banishing it again. "The Negaverse, huh? Trying to take over our home...as in, the Earth? Or just Destiny City?" He reached out again to touch the Mauvian's tail and then shook his head, "Actually, I think I'm full up for the moment. You've given me a lot to process and I think anything more is just gonna go in one ear and out the other." Being honest was always the best route, right?

"She can be a bit rough around the edges, but she is a good woman and she cares deeply. Her contact information is in your phone, along with the login for accessing the primer that I mentioned." Eta butted her head lightly against Suttungr's shin before rubbing her cheek against his calf in an attempt to be reassuring in regards to the situation she had just placed the young man in. She knew that it was a lot of information, and that she was asking a lot in getting him to accept all of this, but he had done well and she was very pleased. "I can spend some time with you, if you would like? It is an awful lot of information all at once, but we will do everything that we can in order to help you to adjust. I will do whatever I can to answer as many of your questions as I can whenever you're ready to ask them again. That's what I am here for."

He was glad for the silvery guardian cat rubbing against him, it was comforting and grounding at a time when things were scaling wildly to the fantastic. "Can you? That'd be great. I live on the DCU campus in a tiny studio apartment..." Did he need to make space for Eta in his home? "I mean, if you meant now...or did you mean later? Sorry, I'm kind of overwhelmed." He laughed nervously, "Do you want me to carry you?"
