Thema huffed as she looked in the mirror, tugging hard on her on her long locks. Her hair was always getting caught in things. Whether it was hair elastics, in doors, or in headphones, it felt like Thema’s thick hair was always getting stuck and yanking in something. She had been contemplating cutting it for a while, but had never developed the steel to do so. She likes how her long hair looked, just not the way it tangled and knotted.
Another heavy sigh as Thema flopped down on to the closed toilet seat with a thunk. Was there a way to solve her dilemma?

Sagi gently knocked on the door of the bathroom. Thema had been inside for what felt like an hour now. It wasn’t that had to pee or anything. There were several bathrooms in their large house, but Sagi was the anxious type that liked to know when and where his family was as he didn’t like being left alone for too long. He knew that Thema had shuffled off to the bathroom in a bit of a mood, but since such a long time had passed the boy wanted to make sure that his sister was alright.
“Thema?” He called gently from the other side of the door. “Are you alright?”

Thema jumped slightly, the knock on the door startling her and making her stand to her feet. She turned towards the door, four eyes wide and spluttered, “W-what do you want?”
Her tone had come off a bit harsher than she would have liked. But there were a million different bathrooms. Why did whomever it was need the one she was occupying?
Then she heard Sagi’s concerned voice. And she knew.
“oh … “ she mumbled quietly, stepping towards the door. She twisted the handle and peered through the small crack of the opened door. “I’m fine.” She lied.

Sagi was not convinced. The minute Thema’s four eyes met his two he knew something was up.
“You can tell me, Thema.” Sagi offered gently. “You know I’ll keep it between us. Is someone bothering you at school … ?” How could he help his sister if she wouldn’t talk?
“Please, let me in … we can close the door and we can sit and talk.” It seemed like a nice request, didn’t it? Sagi prayed to the Nine that Thema would see that he was just concerned and would let him in to talk, curling fingers around the door. “Please. Thema … ?”

Thema’s eyes leered subtly at her sibling. He cared. She couldn’t be angry at him for it. In truth, her family were some of the only friends she had. Sagi’s kindness almost felt … contagious. He was such a pure soul, and he tried to make sure everyone was taken care of, even though he was small just like Thema and Paru …
“Alright.” She conceded, opening the door fully. “I’ll tell you. Just don’t tell anyone. I know you won’t, but I’m gonna say it again just incase for extra measure – don’t tell anyone.” Thema stepped aside so Sagi could pass through the door.

Sagi nodded his head before ducking inside. “Cross my heart.” A small smile formed on his lips as he padded his way in to the bathroom, his eyes glancing around the clean bathroom. It didn’t look like anything was out of place, save for perhaps the scissors lying on the counter. Sagi’s eyebrows raised at the sight of them. What was Thema trying to do?
“Thema … ?” Sagi turned, ears flicking gently at the sound of the door closing and locking. “What’s going on?” Sagi picked up the scissors off the counter, glancing over the double blades. Hmmn …

Thema took in a deep breath as soon as the door was shut. She turned to her sibling slowly, four eyes focused on the scissors as they turned around. “Heh … “ Thema shifted to lean against the counter. “I’m … I was thinking about changing my hair up a bit … but … I’m stuck on how to do it … “ Thema admitted, pulling her pony tail free as her tresses fell around her face, framing her cheeks messily. “You like hair … what do you suggest?” Thema ran her fingers through the knotted masses of her hair.

Aah! So that was why?
A rather blissful expression spread across Sagi’s face as he set the scissors down and gently took his sister’s hands. “Oh, Thema! Is that all?” Sagi couldn’t keep himself from grinning. “You confided in the right person! I cut my own hair all the time!” Sagi let go of Thema’s hands and gave his hair a small flick! His decided to grow out his short feather hair and had started to cut his own bangs in. His passion for styling hair was slowly growing. “What were you looking for style wise?” Sagi reached up to start touching Thema’s hair.

Thema shivered slightly at her sibling’s touch. It was weird having someone else touch her. “Well, I want to keep my long hair … but in a way that makes it more … well, less unruly? It’s always tugging at my scalp.” Thema gripped at her own hair again as Sagi’s hands fell away. “Does that make sense?” Thema wasn’t sure it did, but hoped she had explained herself well enough. “Do you think you can do anything with it? Or seen any styles online that you think would work for me? I’m pretty open to dieas … “

Sagi excitedly clapped his hands together. He knew exactly what to do for Thema’s hair. She had always been a rather edgy girl, and Sagi knew her hairstyle needed to reflect it. “I’m thinking that shaved sides and then pinning the rest back on a daily basis will solve your problem!” Sagi puffed up happily. Yes, it was a brilliant plan. If he executed it properly, Thema might even keep the hairstyle for a long time.
“Leave it to me! I promise once I’m done with your hair that you’ll feel like a warrior goddess!” Sagi beamed to himself.
