Now here was an opportunity to collect intel. Dan prepared an axe swing to function as an introduction as he approached a vampire he spotted that seemingly had yet to become aware of his presence.

Someone was targeting him and his suspicions were quickly proven correct. He turned just in time to see his attacker before the initial blow sent at him made impact. Danirate took on damage from the sudden assault focused on him, but he in return answered with damage dealing offensive strikes of his own as well.
No words were exchanged. No words were needed really. In actuality, however, there was a shared understanding of mirrored hostility despite the absence of words. Both parties felt no inclination to provide any spoken questions or statements. Both had one focus, each having minds set on survival.

What is your objective, what mission are you on? Danirate kept anything that crossed his mind, whether thoughts or questions, from leaving his head. He did not speak, regardless of any non-combat trains of thought that mixed with his attention on this battle. He recognized the similar drive he had with his opponent to stick to business and win. His expression was of serious concentration as he endeavored to match and exceed any damage that was dealt to him. He moved to make contact with blunter edges of the weapon being swung at him to counter and halt attempts at cutting damage to his being. So, though he has already sustained a notable amount of bruises, he thus far has managed to avoid deep cut wounds and he intended to keep this up and even aim to step up his battle progress.
