Sinope was frozen in his seat at the very back of the theater. He clutched at his ears, but the surrounding sound was hardly muffled and he knew he needed to keep his ears open. He had gotten himself into this mess and he was determined to get through it.

About ten minutes earlier, he'd come across a movie theater and recalled a tip one of his fellow Dark Mirror Senshi had mentioned to him a little while ago. He'd heard that movie theaters were ideal for gathering energy because people were stationary, it was dark, and people were so fixated on the movie that no one paid much attention to the flitting, shadowy shapes of mirrorwraiths.

This had seemed a good idea in theory, but when it had come to picking a movie to sit in on, he'd chosen the wrong theater. Only after the trailers had ended had he come to this realization, but his mirrorwraith had already been set loose among the audience. The wraith was so well-hidden in the black of the room that not even its senshi could locate it. Not without potentially disturbing the other moviegoers and possibly alerting them that something was amiss. It was then that Sinope realized with dread that he would have to wait the movie out.

He despised horror movies. He was too much of a coward and he knew it, but try as he might to think of a way out, he couldn't. He was constantly plagued by the fear that if he left the theater for even a moment, someone would find his wraith before he did and wide-spread panic would ensue. Thus he had to keep his ears open for screams or shouts that weren't related to the movie, but keeping his ears open at all was nerve-wracking enough when the film's music and atmosphere was chilling him to the bone.

As if that wasn't bad enough, he kept seeing shadows out the corner of his eye while he tried to calm himself in his seat. Sure, they could have just been his mirrorwraith...but what if they weren't? What if it was some sinister spirit from the movie he was watching that he was just mistaking for his wraith?

Petrified in his chair from fear, Sinope grit his teeth and braced himself for an unpleasant next couple of hours. He just hoped he didn't die of a heart attack before then.

((Went off of Cassian's trait of 'fearless' for this. Hope it's an okay start. Please let me know if there's anything you'd like me to change~))

Horror movies in the west were...a thing. Cassian, while he was already in for a great show, found something twisted in his gut - and not in the good way when one was sitting in a dark, scary, theater with an only OK quality scary moving rolling. It was the kind felt when Cassian's inner senshi had a feeling that something needed punching.

He found himself looking away from the screen more than once, peering through the darkness, much to the annoyance of the young woman seated next to him. She didn't say anything, but Cassian could tell it was annoying. There was something in here, but it didn't feel like a Youma to him. It was a very unusual feeling and he couldn't place it. He squirmed and adjusted in his seat.

Did he investigate and potentially ruin the movie for everybody if it was nothing? How did he want to go about that? He was easily the most fidgety person in that theater and it was really killing his buzz. Okay, do I leave, change, then come back and hope I don't have to use my power? Oh boy. Still, it was driving him crazy, and Cassian quickly found himself doing just that, exiting to the empty walkway at the back of the that particular screen where people usually entered. What felt like 5 minutes really look several seconds as the white uniform was donned, and he made his way back out into the dark.

Here bad-feeling, bad-feeling, bad feeling....he was here to find out who and what you were!

Works for me! :3 Cassian LOVES horror movies! Also sorry for the wait!

Aw, s**t.

Just when Sinope began to believe that maybe he could distract himself from the movie's terrifying plot by losing himself in his thoughts, his senshi senses began to tingle. It was so sudden that he started in his chair, bolting upright and glancing about.

It was something he felt before saw, though, and the order energy signature that drew his attention was actually a welcome distraction. Maybe it wasn't such a good thing if the other powered being had noticed his mirror wraith, but at least it was better than an unsuspecting civilian noticing.

If he could locate the Order-aligned person, perhaps he would be able to locate his wraith along with them, return it to his shard, and take his leave without any trouble before the other could complain.

Emboldened by this plan, Sinope got to his feet and eased himself down the isles toward where he thought he sensed the signature. He slumped forward as he moved through the room, hoping to avoid blocking anyone's view.

If it was a White Moon Senshi, chances were they were wearing white and they'd be easier to spot than he would in his black top. There - was that the guy? When Sinope saw the other sailor scout, he hesitated, his mouth slightly ajar, unsure of how to proceed. Was he going to be attacked? Didn't seem like his mirrorwraith was visible nearby, either, so it wasn't like he could easily explain why he was slinking around. He was like a deer in headlights.

Until a scream from the movie startled him out of his skin.

It was probably difficult to miss the white uniform and the ENORMOUS bow if you weren't looking at the screen. Cassian had ducked down to a crawl - almost hands and knees - as he scanned into the darkness, seeking out whatever it was that was giving him the uncertain feeling. Usually, he could peg this. He'd know this. But whatever this was, it was different.

Then again, Destiny City is different, isn't it? he thought to himself in frustration, hands opening and closing as flecks of light sparked on his palms. He needed to keep the sunlight in. In a place this dark, using it would draw attention to himself and he'd seen how disastrously his type could be slandered in the media.

Cassian's eyes turned to the screen at the scream, mostly checking to make sure that it was the screen and not someone in the audience, before he made a point to look back into the audience. It was dark, and nobody seemed to be looking towards him at that moment. Were they even in here? Maybe they were in the room with the camera. That seemed a little silly too, but...

He tried to not growl under his breath, but he was a little out of his element - alone and unknowing. Hard to plan on the go like this.

Managing to collect himself after his little fright, Sinope noted with relief that the other young man hadn't seemed to have spotted him. Instead, he'd turned to the movie screen at the noise from the film. Thank goodness for distractions. Unlike Sinope, perhaps this guy had actually come to watch the movie, or at least been more interested in it than himself.

The flecks of light immediately caught the Dark Mirror Senshi's attention and he decided that with the show of magic, that confirmed that the stranger was, indeed, another sailor scout like himself. What did that mean, though? He still didn't know if the other would attack him once he registered his presence. At least for now he seemed to have the element of surprise on his side and the other senshi didn't seem any stronger than himself.

Should he try to sneak up on him? No, no, no...tempting as that was, Sinope had to remind himself that he was still at a disadvantage regarding his own magic. Sneaking up on a stranger would likely trigger a hostile response. He couldn't afford to just do things that would likely get him into trouble if he didn't have the confidence to deal with the consequences. Besides, he hadn't forgotten there was a horror film going on and he was adamant about leaving as soon as he possibly could.

Wait - there it was! His mirrorwraith! Perhaps drawn by the light from the White Moon Senshi's palms, Sinope noticed the small, fragmented-looking figure hovering right behind the other teen. Taking a deep breath, the redhead slipped back through the rows so he could weave his way around toward the wraith. He needed to get behind the Order being as well, but if he was careful enough, maybe the guy wouldn't notice.

Tip-toeing, crawling, and picking his way around bits of fallen popcorn, the Senshi of Slyness managed to creep upon his mirrorwraith at last. Fortunately, it hadn't moved from the other boy's side. Taking out his mirror shard, he drew steadily closer until, at last, he was able to return the wraith to Mirrorspace.

Before he even had time to breathe a sigh of relief, however, a sudden onslaught of terrifying noises and a rush of gory action accompanied by more shrieking from the silver screen disrupted Sinope's composure. He yelped and stood, his fight-or-flight instincts set off by his high tension and withering nerves. Almost immediately he realized his mistake and crouched back down, but he couldn't take back the noise he'd made, especially so close to his peer's ear.

"Heh...hi," he whispered with a crooked grin. "...Cool movie, huh?" He might have tried to make a run for it, but with the theater entrance clear across the room and the other senshi between him and the door, he wasn't liking his chances.

It was impossible to miss the yelp that was practically right behind him. Fortunately, it took more than that to make Minchir jump out of his skin - though it did prompt him to turn around with the most serious frown he was capable of. It fortunately allowed him the time to look at the other senshi before just swinging to catch him in the face with a right hook. Or a left one. In fact, despite a very careful step-to-step move to turn himself around, his fists were only up in preparation for a strike that he seemed fortunately hesitant to throw.

"Yeah. Just sends a weird not-terrified feeling up my spine..."

Minchir's eyes remained transfixed on the stranger's uniform, as if perplexed by it as he looked between it...then Sinope's forehead....then back down.....then up again. His brows furrowed together the longer he took it in before he finally asked the million dollar question:

"What the hell faction are you?"

It may have been in Sinope's favor that Minchir hadn't been given the ledger on the Dark Mirror Court and it was simply because he didn't look or feel like a corrupt that had kept Minchir from simply aiming to break the boy's nose.

"What the hell faction are you?"

Despite his body going rigid in preparation of getting hit, the question from the other young man gave Sinope the courage to meekly peek at the stranger by eyes that had been previously squeezed shut. He...hadn't hit him yet? Was it his confusion preventing him?

Thank goodness for the ambiguity that Sinope's court afforded him. If this guy didn't know what 'side' he was on, he couldn't tell if he was friend or foe, and if he couldn't label him as either, chances were he wouldn't attack.

But what to do? He opened his mouth and was about to claim he was just some kid dressing up for the heck of it, but then he recalled that his energy signature would give him away. The mirror wraith hadn't been spotted, so that'd been good because the White Moon Senshi wouldn't have known what he'd been up to and Sinope sincerely doubted anyone of an Order faction would have approved.

The redhead stared at Minchir's fists and he swallowed hard, putting up both his palms defensively. "Um...the faction that doesn't want trouble...?" he answered with a sheepish grin.

And then, hoping to make the most of the other sailor scout's puzzlement while he still had the chance, he turned into the nearest row of seats and bolted toward the exit. If he could just get outdoors into the night, perhaps he could lose the other teen!

Sinope had Minchir going for a moment with his answer, the young man slowly lowering his fists as he continued to stare in confusion at the darkly dressed young man. If he didn't want trouble, then that was fine. It was simply something that didn't go uninvestigated when it was an unknown. Never knew when there was someone trying to siphon off energy - or worse - in this strange place and time.

But then he turned to bolt.

"HEY."

A few of the moviegoers turned to shush him, but Minchir ignored them, despite the screams from the screen, to chase after the darkly dressed boy. Unfortunately, not being a marathon runner, Minchir would not exactly be closing up that gap of the head start very easily. But all he had to do was get close enough to throw up his field. He wasn't sure what he was going to do if or when he got his hands on this stranger.

All of Sinope's prior pent-up desire to escape the theater as fast as his legs could possibly carry him was finally unleashed. This time it wasn't just fueled by fear of the movie, however; this time it included the added rush of adrenaline from fleeing a potential enemy.

He might not normally have been so quick to run, but he had been so on-edge even prior to noticing Minchir that his nerves hadn't been able to take it anymore.
Sinope had just wanted out of that theater and away from that film as soon as possible. The threat of trouble looming in the form of a sailor scout who could make his palms spark with light just sealed the deal.

Once he was finally outdoors, Sinope leaned his hands on his knees as he panted for air. He glanced back over his shoulder, hardly daring to believe he'd gotten away scot-free.

He really wasn't used to being the one doing the chasing, but Minchir found himself getting more and more riled up the farther this jerk made him chase, frowning into himself as the darkly dressed figure escaped outside. Out into the night, perhaps? Outside of a theater seemed like a better place to be than inside of it, especially when the only people who lingered outside the back of a theater (really the easiest place to run to when you were trying to get out without having people stop you).

However, his stamina wasn't exactly something to be proud of, so as Minchir trailed out the door after him, he took sunk hands-to-knees as well to pant, only he held one hand up. "Just....give me... a minute...." he panted. He was just so used to having someone else who was built like a bulldozer to take care of the 'chase people down' part. He was just supposed to make them regret their lives and stumble a bit.

Two pathetic teenage menshi just sitting behind a theater, winded because running was hard. This was what Destiny City was built on.

Still breathing hard, the slightly younger teen's eyes widened to see Minchir not only panting behind him, but with one palm up. He almost wanted to laugh, but that would have cost him the precious air he'd just managed to force back into his burning lungs.

What was up with this guy? A sudden urge seized Sinope and he had to know. Though he couldn't properly speak just yet, there was something he was capable of doing at that moment. Maybe if he was lucky, it would be distracting enough to the other sailor scout to let him get away again; this time far enough that the other wouldn't give chase. If not, well...at least he'd probably get to learn more about the swarthy, sky blue-eyed fellow.

"Sly Secret Steal," he whispered between breaths. Meeting his peer's gaze, a broad grin spreading across his face.

demon_pachabel
Sly Secret Steal:
Sinope locks eyes with his target on the battlefield and casts them a knowing grin.

Causes the target to be seized by the unshakable feeling that Sinope knows something about them they really don't want him to know (whether or not he actually knows it)

The player of the target can interpret as they see fit what their character thinks Sinope knows. Sinope does not necessarily know whatever it is, but his attack causes his target to think he does, which serves as an unnerving distraction during battle.

He'd barely gotten air back into his lungs, looking up just to catch the other boy's eyes as he whispered his attack - or perhaps his intent. The look on Sinope's face seemed to line up in step with the feeling that suddenly crept into his chest - namely, the names of 4 people back home that he knew would end up dead if that information was leaked out.

"Don't you even dare," he growled, a previously held back feeling of anger welling up in his chest as the innocent faced boy scowled darkly. Not that anything about him could possibly seem dark, between bright eyes and a bright uniform - and the light that began to fleck off of his palms. There were a grand total of two ways to keep his secrets where they needed to be - and frankly, breaking both of Sinope's legs seemed like an option to start with.

But first, he needed to make sure he didn't run.

He closed his eyes. "Light of Day." It was a harsh whisper, and it probably wasn't exactly threatening, at least not until the bright light bloomed from between his palms and expanded out around the two of them. While Minchir wasn't exactly going to be tracking anybody by his hearing alone, he was at least going to not have his eyes burn out.

Kitomyx

The Light of Day

Minchir can create an area of bright sunlight, roughly 7 feet in diameter around a target. All who enter it will be treated to the blinding field of white. It lasts for 25 seconds. A lingering 'white spot' vision effect can linger for up to another 30 seconds for flavor-text purposes. Can use twice per battle.

Despite all the danger that his magic put him in and how useless it seemed to be otherwise, Sailor Sinope never failed to be fascinated with how his targets reacted to it. Though whatever he learned about his opponents' secrets were only what they themselves ended up revealing, Sly Secret Steal granted him a different sort of knowledge - how said person behaved when under pressure.

It gave him some valuable insight into just what kind of person they really were. Anyone putting on airs could act friendly or polite under normal circumstances. But the stress, fear, and anger brought on by threats revealed a whole other facet of an individual; an honest, real side to them that they might not have otherwise exposed.

Of course, that side was often frantic and desperate, which made people dangerous. The more their secret meant to them, the more hostile they tended to be in wanting to guard it. If they thought Sinope knew already, sometimes that meant they would be willing to go so far in destroying him in order to keep him from revealing said secret. But that was another aspect that was revealed about the magic's victim - were they the sort ready and able to kill? Or was it possible for them to trust him not to reveal or otherwise act upon their secret?

Sinope didn't usually like to stick around long enough to find out, but this seemed to be one of those situations where he would have no choice. He still had no idea what the other sailor soldier could do other than the hint of the light that had emanated from his hands. The redhead made the mistake of watching those hands out of curiosity just as Minchir performed his own magic. The absurdly bright radiance that expanded from his palms caused Sinope to cry out sharply and fall back on his butt. What was it? Was it an explosion? Was it going to blow him up?

Evidently not, but it wasn't about to do him any good, either. The sunlight, blindingly bright against the sharp contrast of night's pitch, caused him to squint and blink as he attempted to assess what had happened. The brilliance was all around, appearing to trap and the White Moon Senshi together. Sinope collected himself, took a shaky breath, and pushed himself up to his feet.

"...Well?" he forced out, thinking of the last time he'd been in such a situation. "What now?" If he let out his mirror wraith, there was the chance it could have also provided a mild distraction for his captor, but that didn't mean his new prison would have subsided.

If it was just sunlight and not heat, Sinope speculated that he might have been able to shut his eyes before attempting to pass through, but he could try that as a last resort. If it really did do more than blind people, he could have very well been disintegrated on the spot and he loved life too much to act so rashly.

For now, it was the brunet's move.

He'd timed it out. Counting quietly, under his breath, Minchir kept his eyes closed in the field of sunlight as he listened for the darkly dressed senshi who as far as he was concerned, knew enough information to put several people in danger. What about their parents? What would happen if information about his people back in Greece got to the wrong ears?

And why would this guy even care?

It didn't matter. "Depends on if I think I can trust you or not," he said quietly, his footing far too confident for someone completely in the dark. He had, after all, been used to these bright fields for as long as he'd been using them. "After all, you should be able to tell how many people they'd hurt if they knew that information, and well....I can't just have that floating around. But for all I know, my family is easy fodder to throw under the bus."

He continued to count down, he either needed to resolve this before the field went down, or be ready to throw it up again.

People...could be hurt?

So this wasn't one of those petty secrets like that girl who'd been concerned that he knew she slept with her stuffed animals by her side. Or even like that one guy who had been so ashamed of his own magic that he'd assumed Sinope had been taunting him about it. This involved lives.

"Wait, wait, wait, hold up - who said I'm going to tell anyone anything?" the Senshi of Slyness asked. He noticed the other teen had said 'they' as if there was someone specific he thought Sinope might tell. He could have always asked, but that would have risked revealing the nature of his own magic - that it was a trick - and then where would he be? Defenseless and at the other senshi's mercy.

At the very least, he hadn't been physically attacked yet, and if there was a chance this guy thought he could trust Sinope, a total stranger with a Chaos signature...well, then maybe there was hope. Especially if the brunet believed he could appeal to his opponent with the lives of others. If he'd thought him evil or untrustworthy, why would he bother mentioning that lives hung in the balance at all? Sinope didn't know much about the Negaverse, but he doubted they would have cared if they had been the ones presented with such information.

He tried a different tactic, closing his eyes against the light surrounding him. It was beginning to give him a headache. "Are you saying you'd actually trust me if I told you you could? Even though you don't know what faction I'm from?"
