Timeline of The Four Horsemen

1962: Leon Sault, Jude Morton, David Keller, and Sylvia Parks first encounter each other in a bank briefly before it is burglarized. They all separately pursue the thieves and meet again when they converge to stop them. The four part on good terms.

1962: The four meet again a month later, inspired by recent developments in society (such as various heroes rising) and decide to form a team together to fight crime.

1962: Three months pass of successful crime fighting but the team has no unity. They fight together but for themselves. The issue comes to a head and they all agree to begin working together as a singular force rather than four individual heroes trying to get famous.

1962: The four take on the team name The Four Horsemen. They choose monikers and begin developing a hideout underneath an old warehouse. Officially the hideout is called Purgatory. A space where the Horsemen could relax, train, and investigate.

1963: Leon Sault is paralyzed in a fight with a villain known as Morbus. The team realizes that they have gone too public and should refocus on fighting the fights that heroes like Mr. Invincible would never see. They also begin to establish the successor system. Leon Sault's role as Azrael is reduced to a consultant role. He runs tests and offers leads but leaves field work behind. The Four Horsemen, become three.

1963: Leon is hospitalized after complications with his spinal cord emerge as a result of whatever Morbus did to him. His family become bitter towards the rest of the team and resentful. Leon is forced to officially leave the team as a result of his condition. His body continues to deteriorate slowly.

1963: Morbus is captured and incarcerated. The remaining three Horsemen begin looking for Leon's successor. they begin to develop a collection of souvenirs from their various enemies.

1966: The collection has grown to include Bloodstone, Brightside, Amendial, The Hornet, and Mr. Nemesis (A weak telepath imitating Miss Nemesis).

1966: Morbus escapes from prison and the Horsemen are unable to find him during the fallout.

1966: Purgatory is attacked by several dozen mindless citizens with black veins spread throughout their bodies. The Horsemen manage to beat them and get them to the same hospital Leon is being treated at. The Horsemen are forced to form a new base. The Stable is built.

1966: Leon Sault's infection manifests in full. His body disappears. The doctors claim that he passed away in his sleep.

1971: An infected Leon Sault begins attacking the members of the Horsemen in their homes. He attacks David Keller first and David, unprepared, is killed in the fight. Jude and Sylvia prepare themselves for an attack but it doesn't come.

1971: Jude and Sylvia try to keep the team functioning but it is hard. The Horsemen fall into a dark period where they attempt to hunt down Leon Sault. They bring in Richard Shaw as the new Azrael but David's replacement is unwilling to take the mantle after hearing what happened to her mentor.

1971: Leon Sault begins attacking the families of the Horsemen. No one is killed but many family members are hospitalized.

1975: Richard Shaw catches Leon trying to kill Sylvia while she sleeps and he captures Leon. They try to figure out what happened to him and draw connections to the horde that attacked Purgatory but Leon's body begins to deteriorate into a black slime before they can figure it out.

1977: The Horsemen track down Morbus and figure out that he is behind the infections. They fight, Richard is wounded and infected but Morbus is once again arrested. This time the Horsemen ensure that he is held in a maximum security prison. He does not escape again. The Horsemen fear for Richard health and develop a cure for Morbus's disease using his blood. Richard is cured.

1980: The Horsemen return to the status quo doing the work that the world needs them to do without any overarching issues for a long time.

1984: Jude and Sylvia recruit new successors and begin to train them. Richard begins looking for his own.
