- Size Manipulation – his powers allow him to shift between his current size of 5’ 10” to a colossal size of approximately 58’ 4”, ten times his current height. In doing so, his physical condition is entirely enhanced, whilst retaining his body proportions, miraculously defying Galileo’s square-cube law. His body adapts to withstand his proportions, making him stronger. In his maximum size, he can lift approximately 427 tons. At that maximum height, he’s nigh invulnerable, but not to the degree of those who exhibit this power more naturally.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- He has no defenses against mental abilities, and can be defeated by sufficient physical force. Otherwise, there are complications with shifting his size; small spaces make it difficult to transform, and can even harm him, seeing as he requires certain proportions to access certain levels of strength. Also, his maximum size makes everything appear fragile and small. He is also not used to his strength, and may cause unintended destruction. In his normal size, however, he’s quite ordinary.
➳ How do they act?
- Jay is a confident, prideful—sometimes cocky—individual who enjoys his fame. He’s a known flirt, and an obvious thrill-seeker who likes to put himself in daring situations. He doesn’t necessarily like to help people just to help, since he prefers some incentive, but he does like being a superhero.
➳ What's their backstory?
- His powers did not make his life any easier, especially during the early periods when he couldn’t control them. Jay knew there were plenty of other supers, but he wasn’t expecting to find powers of his own, especially when those powers manifested during one of his nightmares, where he woke up larger than usual and nearly giving his mother a heart attack when she walked in to find her son unable to even fit through the door. He had to call in sick from school for a week while he desperately learned how to use his powers. It took a while, and he spent most of it trapped in his room (with a lot of broken furniture), but he eventually figured it out, or at least how to get back to normal, before resuming life with his own secret. His secret became a point of confidence for him, however, instead of deterring him.
He deliberately bailed on his secret, however, to become a super celebrity. His agent helped him settle on “Colossal”, even getting his own comic series and television series. As of now, he’s more of an actor than an actual superhero, but he still gets the green, so he’s just fine with that.
