- Initially, she had an unrefined version of Parasitic Energy Manipulation, relying on a device to disable the excess energy. After time and practice, however, she’s learned to effectively store energy without frequent mishaps, understanding how to stop her own absorption.
Parasitic Energy Manipulation – the user has the power to harness an energy that not only inflicts damage but simultaneously absorbs other forms of energy such as fire or electricity to make itself more destructive. Her power works best when it utilizes non-esoteric energy, such as thermal, chemical, potential, kinetic, and electrical. Her body serves as a conduit for these energies.
Her body can absorb it, converting the energy into her own unique energy attacks or to enhance her physical condition, thus achieving physical attributes ranging approximately thrice to decuple superior compared to the average female. Using this, she can improve her vitality to that of a human at their peak health, and—to a degree—can accelerate the healing process exclusively to herself.
When expelling her gathered energy, it can manifest as an unusual esoteric “pink energy” that exhibits combined qualities of the energies she can absorb, often using it for energy beams or a protective energy membrane around herself to heighten her own defenses. It is limited to her energy reserves, which disappear over time, approximately 48 hours for her energy to be depleted. Her absorption works via contact, touching objects which contain the energy she needs (either by direct touch or utilizing energy constructs), or by allowing herself to be struck by the energy itself.

- Aside from her own humanity, her power may easily surge out of her control if she absorbs too much. Due to the parasitic nature of her powers, she must actively resist absorbing too much energy or alternatively release it often due to its ability to grow to an overwhelming degree and exceed her energy reserves. When it reaches an excess, she may experience prolonged seizures, at which point her energy violently surges out of her until it eventually stabilizes. It’s an unreliable way to defeat her, however.
It is best to incapacitate her (preferably when she hasn’t absorbed enough energy), and to prevent her from gathering any significant amounts of energy. If she’s bound fully, for example, she may gain some energy, but her incapacitated state prevents her from gathering enough to free herself, thus allowing her energy to drain more than it increases.

- Elena is outwardly very jovial and sarcastic, but it’s easy to tell for those who pay enough attention that she’s got some underlying emotions that she won’t share, nor does she confide in anyone to understand other than Michael. When asked, she’s dismissive and is quick to change the subject. It’s not uncommon for her to find stress when she reflects on her time with Catalyst.

- As a death in the family awakened her powers, a young Elena would find herself with a peculiar a gift, emitting a strange and hungry energy. Despite her loss, she realized she was superhuman. There was a small comfort in her powers (one of the few following her sister's death), but absconding with them to the point of losing control resulted in a catastrophic explosion that destroyed her school. Traumatized once again, she desperately sought to control them to no avail. It caught the attention of a group known as Catalyst, who provided her with a suit and maintained it themselves to contain her power in exchange for her service. Little did she know that her excess energy would be used for their weapons. She confided in only one individual, a fellow agent named Michael Mora, whom loathed Catalyst and exposed her to the vile truth of Catalyst's activities. Disgusted, the two orchestrated their escape and destroyed the facility as well as any trace they knew of the organization. Together, they sought to start a new life, but Michael was still torn by his guilt, and assumed a vigilante role. Elena seemingly abandoned the fight, but would suit up once again when Catalyst resurfaced.
