➳ What are their powers if they have any?
- Solar Energy Manipulation – her body is a conduit for solar energy. She can absorb it unconsciously or forcefully do so, and then release it in the form of bright energy blasts. Other uses include an energy barrier serving as a protective second skin, a degree of thermokinesis, immunity to heat and fire, an energy bubble for additional protection, eye beams, and simulating flight. Her body emits an aura of solar energy, which can manifest in glowing eyes or if she’s truly powered, unpredictable flares of solar energy. Essentially, they are the same as her father and brother’s powers.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- Her body has a certain capacity for solar energy that she has to be careful not to exceed. While she can sustain a nearly limitless amount of energy within herself, too much can easily fall out of her control. Likewise, too little has the potential to kill her, as she depends on it more than food and drink.
➳ How do they act?
- The recurring factor in her personality is her sense of inferiority, one she hates but feels she can’t overcome. All her life, she was told that her place would always be her brother’s shadow. What sets her apart from her brother is an underlying sense of morality. She realizes her actions are wrong, but reluctantly obeys her father in the hopes that he may come to realize her potential for more. This has made her ill-tempered, insecure, and too loyal to the wrong people.
➳ What's their backstory?
- From the moment she was born, she was to be a tool in her father’s schemes. Her younger brother’s birth only sealed her fate. The two would grow up with an absent mother and abusive father, their father being the original Darkstar. They’d both shown signs of inherited powers, and they were taught to use them all throughout their life, pretending to be normal so they could later take up a secret identity. Jenny would become the second Darkstar, while her brother would become a new hero called Morningstar. The idea would be that she’d intentionally lose multiple times, playing the part of her brother’s nemesis so that other heroes would come to trust and respect him, while she would become something the world would scorn. As they grew up, her own abilities often surpassed her brother, but she always had to make herself appear weaker so that he would enjoy the luxuries of everyone’s admiration, the fall-girl to his relentless climbing. All this time, she’d hoped to gain her father’s approval, despite the fact that cruelty and dishonesty seemed to come easier to her brother than herself.
➳ Anything else we need to know?
- Morningstar (Justin Kerr) is her brother.
