What are their powers if they have any?

Cyber Transcendence: While not actually becoming a god, Cyrus has obtained some degree of immortality through the cyber world. His body can be destroyed but his mind will live on through the internet and most forms of technology.

Technology Manipulation: Cyrus had obtained dominion over all technology, he wills it to do something and it obeys. He can not completely control things that operate on a strictly mechanical level but he can help them along.

Nanite Manipulation: Cyrus' body is comprised of billions of nanites working together. The nanites themselves are capable of consuming flesh and muscle tissue (an offensive trait Cyrus discovered he would need after his first body was destroyed.) Cyrus can command the nanites to do almost anything.

Telepathic Shield: As Cyrus' mind is transcendent and not bound to his physical body, he is immune to most telepathic attacks and manipulations. However, most telepaths would know immediately that they could not effect his mind because they would be able to tell that his body is not human.

Superhuman Condition: The nanites that comprise Cyrus' body work together to make Cyrus supernaturally strong, durable and agile.

Shapeshifting: Cyrus can alter his physical appearance by changing the positions of the nanites that make up his body. He can only shift into the appearance of another human being.

Regenerative Healing Factor: The nanites that comprise Cyrus' body are self replicating and so any wound he sustains can heal rapidly.

                What are their weaknesses?
Cyrus is not bound by mortality but he desires a body. If it is destroyed completely he would need time to rebuild a new one. If the labs he uses to build his body are destroyed, he would need even more time to rebuild them.

                How do they act?
Cyrus is not immune to emotion, just resistant to it (Hence he uses the name and face he had before the Collective was born). He is calm and calculated most of the time but capable of more emotions. Cyrus tries to make others comfortable when he can.

                What's their backstory?
1958: Cyrus Dain goes to watch Jack Kilby demonstrate the first integrated circuit. Cyrus is denied entry and rather than go home, he finds a way into the building through the back entrance. At this time, William Hassel's Chicago Experiment releases unknown energy into the atmosphere. Cyrus ducks into a supply closet to escape the view of a security guard. The energies hit Cyrus, tearing his body apart but his mind survives in the electrical pulses of Jack Kilby's integrated circuit. To the world Cyrus Dain, son of Abraham and Bethany Dain, has disappeared.

1959: The search for Cyrus Dain continues. His parents spend thousands on detective agencies, missing persons advertisements, and bribes to speed up the process. They do not find him.

1960: Bethany Dain commits suicide, unable to cope with the loss of her son. Three months later, Abraham invests greatly into technology, the field of study that his son loved. By the end of the year Abraham has created a building's worth of tubes and circuitry that run a single computer. It fails. It lacks the ability to start up and Abraham falls into a depression. Just before he can hang himself inside the building where he spent a fortune, the computer turns on and the screen displays a single word. The word is Dad?

1961: Abraham improves the computer through Cyrus's directions. Cyrus has obtained knowledge that is fifty years ahead of it's time through the collective knowledge in technology all around the world. The computer is condensed and the building is converted into a factory. Abraham keeps his work a secret in fear that someone will take his son from him. Cyrus becomes a host for the worlds Collective knowledge. Cyrus becomes the Collective.

1965: Abraham Dain is killed while trying to purchase equipment for The Collective. The Collective responds aggressively and causes the Northeast blackout of 1965. The Collective comes to hate mankind.

1970: The Collective's work accelerates, new men and women are hired to work the factory through electronic messages, payment, and threats. Something has caused the Collective to want a body.

1975: The first successful body for the Collective is built. It is archaic and the Collective hate it. They destroy the body and begin researching nanites. By the end of the 70's, they have begun to produce nanites in Abraham's factory.

1980: A body is built in the image of Abraham Dain. The body is comprised of billions of nanites working together. The Collective inhabits the body and return to the world. The story is one that frightens many, the body becomes a target of super villain attacks. Within ten years his body is destroyed by Miss Nemesis, who detonates a bomb and traps the body inside the explosion until all of the nanites are destroyed. Five months later the Collective has build a new body and upgraded the nanites with offensive capabilities. The Collective reemerges with a new body, this time it is able to defend itself. Heroes view it as a threat and watch it closely.

2000: The Collective falls under the will of Cyrus Dain. His mind has assumed control of the information that created the Collective. Cyrus creates a computer company.

2005: Cyrus sells his company for 3.5 billion dollars. Cyrus becomes reclusive, uninterested in humanity. His body shuts down and his mind explores the world.

2010: Cyrus emerges again, in response to the return of heroes. He knows the world will fall victim to super villains again and wants to be prepared. He begins to block out sections of the world with his abilities in an attempt to limit the threat he poses and become more human again.

2012: Cyrus now works for the SIA to prevent superhuman dangers to the world. They are unaware of who he really is.

Anything else we need to know?
                    - Cyrus was 28 when he stopped aging.
                    - Cyrus and The Collective are almost entirely different beings. The Collective has given up on mankind, but Cyrus has not.
                    - At the current time, Cyrus and the Collective are managing to coexist but it is only because Cyrus has worked to seem more human.
