Quote: Sinope thought the concept of mirror-walking was cool, but also very risky and thus didn’t attempt it often. The thing about mirrors was that most of the ones he was aware of were indoors somewhere and the ones that were easily-accessible usually meant they were open to the public, like in bathrooms. Unfortunately, there was no easy way to check and see if someone was in a bathroom before you stepped through its mirror to enter it. Sometimes one could make out shapes very briefly before stepping out, but only barely, and not in detail.
Because the bathrooms in the park were pretty open and Sinope thought he had the best chance of slipping out before anyone noticed there, the teenage senshi decided to chance it. If anyone was going to be in the guy’s bathroom, he imagined they would have their backs turned to him while going about their business or maybe even in a stall if nature’s call so required it. What he didn’t suspect was that someone would be so directly in front of the small mirror so as to block his perception. As such, he couldn’t tell anyone was moving because he had no frame of reference and the instant Sinope appeared on the other side, he collided directly with the figure washing their hands.
“What the - s**t!” Quote: He knew he was being reckless, but he was determined to do something more than just stand around, or fight with no purpose. He didn’t exactly regret getting as close to the youma as he had, but he was pretty miserable after getting clawed rather viciously across his shoulder and arm.
The appearance of the Dark Mirror Senshi startled him, especially as he was collided into as soon as the other teen slipped through the reflective surface, and Oberon let out a yelp from surprise and pain as he was knocked to the floor of the bathroom, his clothes still pretty torn and bloody where he hadn’t managed to patch himself up.
It was just a temporary fix, of course. He fully planned on cleaning up once he got home, but he didn’t want to just bleed everywhere in the meantime.
And if he got blood all over the floor of his house, he was sure his brother would have a long, unnecessary discussion with him about his recklessness.
"Ow," was all he hissed, not bothering to push himself up just yet, but instead waited to see if the other teen would get up and scurry off. He did at least make sure it wasn’t anyone he’d already met, but this kid looked unfamiliar. Which was good, because Oberon really wasn’t in the mood for a fight.
At least he hoped this guy wasn’t going to try and fight him. xGuine ((Just starting this so I can keep track of the rp as a thread instead of just through docs!))

Though the situation had been an unpleasant surprise for them both, Sinope's first thought was that as long as he was on top of the other person, he was at an advantage in the case they turned out to be hostile. His second thought was that it could have been worse because at least he had only walked into someone washing their hands and he hadn't caught anyone with their pants down. But while he had figured the chances of someone using the park bathroom at that time of night were relatively low, he hadn't thought to consider that another powered being might have thought to make use of it. Their energy signature was reading loud and clear as a White Mirror Senshi, and a super one at that, but there was something else he quickly took note of.
"Whoooa, blood. That's a lot of blood." Someone had been hurt. The question was if the person under him been the one hurt or the one who had done the hurting. "Damn. Is it yours?"
Wait, was this a guy's or girl's bathroom? Eyes widening, he rapidly scanned body he'd landed on as he pushed himself off and got to his feet. It was a guy, though Sinope wasn't sure that made the fact that he'd been lying on top of him any less awkward. He hoped the kid wasn't quick to take offense.
Like Oberon, Sinope was not eager to engage in battles. He was next to worthless when it came down to physical fighting and even his magic was pathetic compared to others'. Combined with the knowledge that he was a basic sensei while this teen was a super, he knew stood practically no chance against him.
After a quick energy signature scan of the area, he didn't sense any others, which meant that this sailor scout must have been alone. Perhaps whomever or whatever had caused his injury (or had been attacked by him) had fled or was no more. At least he wouldn't be ambushed by any pals of this guy who might have been waiting outside. "Heh...must suck to be a White Moon Senshi with those white outfits. Do the stains come out when you power down and back up?" He stepped around the stranger to grab a paper towel from a dispenser and leaned over a sink to dampen it with water.

”It’s not that much blood,” Oberon mumbled miserably, a bit dazed as he pushed himself up to sit on the floor while the other jumped up and went to the sink. “I’ve had worse,” he admitted, glad that his previous wounds had more or less healed from when he’d recently had to visit the hospital. He had a substantial scar on his side now, but it was better than being killed.
“White is easier to bleach,” he pointed out, frowning in confusion at the Dark Mirror Senshi as he went to the sink to turn on the faucet, but Oberon groaned and was tempted to lie back down, even if it was the filthy bathroom floor.
At least as dead weight he wouldn’t have to worry about this other kid lifting him up and throwing him into a mirror. Hopefully.
“Aren’t you going to run away? Or try to kill or corrupt me? Isn’t that what you guys do?” Oberon asked, lifting his hand to rub at his face, feeling weak and gross and still bleeding from his shoulder and arm. “Look, I’ll pretend like I didn’t see you. Then you won’t get in trouble, right?”
Thankfully, in his experience over the years, and aside from a few exceptions, the Dark Mirror Court was no longer as violent as it used to be. At least not like back right after the fall of the Blood Moon Court.

"It's more blood than I'm comfortable seeing," Sinope countered. "I don't know about you, but I like to avoid pain and injury and the people and places involved with those things when I can help it. That means keeping things like blood inside my body where I can't see it." He returned to his peer with the damp paper towel and held it out to him. "Here." Normally he wouldn't have bothered doing something so thoughtful, but he didn't want the blood ending up staining his fuku, too.
"Maybe it's easier to bleach, but don't you have to take it off to bleach it?" the Dark Mirror Senshi mused. "I don't know about the White Moon outfits, but last I checked, we can't strip too much without powering down. And I'd hate to try to bleach the thing while I was still wearing it. It'd stink to high heaven."
Crossing his arms at the question regarding if he was going to run away, the redhead cast the brunet a seriously affronted look and answered, "Sheesh, what kind of bedtime stories has your royalty been reading you? Just how many Dark Mirror Senshi have you met?" He unfolded his arms and put one at his waist, running the other through his hair as he murmured, "At least you know our court, though. That's more than a lot of the others know."
He exhaled a heavy sigh. "Look, dude. I'm not sure how your court works, but we don't get in trouble for not doing s**t. I lie around on ice cream trucks while collecting energy from hyperactive children chasing it, but it's not like I have some boss who'll come after me if I'm not doing some duty. Not like they can check who's collecting energy and who's not. At least I don't think so." Sinope shrugged. "Bottom line is we all sorta do our own thing and no one really cares. 'S why I like this faction so much."
Brows furrowing, he asked, "But why killing or corrupting? I don't know of any Dark Mirrors who have ever done either of those things. Do you? At least not against anyone's will. But then again, I'm a newer one, so maybe they have and I just have yet to learn of it."

"You’re either full of it, or you haven’t been doing this for very long," Oberon observed warily, mumbling under his breath. It wasn’t as though he went out looking to get hurt, but for him there was more to being Oberon than just running away. If he was given these powers, he was going to use them to his advantage. He lived in a magical world; how could he just sit idly by and not want to explore all of it?
Oberon glanced up as the damp towel was handed to him, watching the other young man somewhat incredulously as he started going on about royals and courts and –
He was too exhausted to listen, so he took the towel with a quiet murmur of thanks and dabbed at his wounds, hissing a little as it stung.
"Leto has been known to hunt and kill knights," he pointed out. "Or at least she did years ago. I don’t know what she’s been doing these days, but I know to keep away from her just in case she goes after senshi too. But you’re right, I haven’t personally met many of your kind," he admitted, his voice not revealing any emotion he might feel on the subject. Mostly because he didn’t feel any emotion on the subject. Instead, it was all spoken as fact and theory.
"I don’t have any royals I listen to," he continued, pulling at the ribbon attached to the back of his shorts to tug it free, using it to try and one handed wrap the fabric around his arm where it was cut and doing a poor job of it.
"They’re all just normal people, you know. People with lives, school, jobs, families. There are some who intentionally try to boss people around because of that whole… hierarchy of power mentality, but there are others who have been forced onto a pedestal that they never asked for."
It was difficult not to blurt out that his sister-in-law was one of those royals, but he knew that would probably be bad. Ganymede already did what she could to keep her family safe and didn’t need Oberon going around revealing things he shouldn’t.
"I hope things stay that way for you. Things weren’t as simple when the Dark Mirrors seemed to be in cahoots with the Negaverse," he said, struggling some more with the ribbon until he had it loosely wrapped around his arm and gave up. "Things were worse back then."

"Probably both," Sinope answered in response to the other teen's comment that was 'either full of it or hadn't been doing this very long'. "But I don't see what either of those has to do with anything. I don't think I'd want to live any less the longer I do this. At least, I sure hope not."
He held up a palm. "Alright, stop right there. Who the hell's Leto?" As Oberon continued to speak, however, things clicked into place. "Oh. A Dark Mirror Senshi you know, I'm guessing? Sounds pretty notorious. But if I haven't heard of her and I've been around for a few months, I doubt she's still going around offing people. At least not publically."
The lack of emotion in his peer's voice was starting to kind of annoy him. What was he, a robot? Sinope knew he acted like a know-it-all at school, but at least he had some passion backing the knowledge he shared. This guy didn't even sounded like he cared. About anything.
Sick of watching the other boy struggle with his ribbon, the redhead muttered a quick, "give me that," before snatching it to bind the cut on Oberon's arm. Then he rolled his eyes as he was lectured about normal people.
"Well no duh they're normal people. I don't listen to any royals either; I was just using the term as a joke. You think I seriously believed your royals read you bedtime stories?" Snorting, he tightened the ribbon with a jerk. "You're talking like you know at least one personally, though. Now I'm kinda curious."
Finished with the binding, he checked his work and stood back. "I haven't heard of that," he admitted. "The one royal in the Dark Mirror Court that I know of seemed pretty against the Negaverse from what I could tell. Me, though - I personally don't care. Negaverse, White Moon - they're all the same to me."

Oberon’s eyebrows raised, not quite surprised but more of an “are you kidding me” expression.
“Leto? Princess Leto? There’s a Prince Remarque that my brother says is a good guy. Do you know anything about your history? Do they not teach you that stuff when you first join? How Sailor Ares took her group of mirror walkers to the Zodiac’s Surrounding to attack it while other senshi and knights were working on caring for a bunch of civilians that got stuck there?”
Good grief. No wonder why these people were the way they were.
“Hey!” he chirped as the other senshi snatched the ribbon from him so he could bind the cut himself and then frowned. “Thanks,” he said once the other was done, flexing his arm to make sure it wasn’t too tight.
“Yeah, I know a couple of them. Or I’ve seen them. Look out for Castor. Big dark navy colored wings. He’s been known to kill people too. There’s Polaris. She has darker skin and white hair. She tries to be diplomatic but is a bit preachy. Chronos is the princess of the zodiacs and probably would be most likely to hate you guys for destroying her place. She’s got green hair and pink butterfly wings, but it also seems kinda timid. She usually has guards with her, though. Ganymede is a huge b***h if you get on her bad side. Kind of a loud mouth. Wears a white gown with a red bow. There are others, but I don’t know much about them.”
Oberon shook his head when Sinope said he didn’t care about the Negaverse or the White Moon, and that they were the same. “Don’t eat starseeds,” he suggested as a helpful hint. “The Negaverse has been known to steal starseeds of other senshi and knights, and force others to eat them. It’ll turn you into a youma. Or maybe not, because you’ve got chaos magic, too.”

At the question of whether he knew anything about history, Sinope made a face. This was a particularly cutting insult to him because, as a civilian, he adored learning history. It was his favorite subject and he often spent his free time in libraries comparing the accuracy of various historical events between numerous textbooks of many different authors and editions. He had always found it fascinating how the same event could be told an assortment of ways from alternate perspectives.
However, it was true that while he was well-versed in world history of times long past, he hadn't bothered attempting to look too much into the history of the powered beings' wars. He hadn't known where to begin. It wasn't as if he could just check out books on the subject and he wasn't too keen on approaching people to ask. How many first-hand sources would he have had to gather in order to get a somewhat accurate, unbiased idea of what had happened? It seemed like more trouble than it was worth for being a senshi.
"There's no such thing as 'good guys' and 'bad guys'," he grumbled sourly, crossing his arms and looking away. "And no, 'they' didn't, because there wasn't any 'they'. There was just Remarque and the senshi who brought me to him, who was probably as clueless as I was. I think Remarque maybe mentioned something about an Ares, but only that she used to be queen and that she disappeared, so I took that to mean we didn't need to worry about her anymore. Never heard anything about Zodiacs or Surroundings or whatever else you're going on about."
But now he kind of wanted to know. What did this kid know about his own court that he didn't? It rankled his pride that the super senshi who looked to be around his age (and only a few inches taller than him) was not only so much better-informed, but also so ready to rub that fact in his face. At least the other teen thanked him for his assistance, however, which appeased him ever so slightly.
"Fantastic. I'll be sure to do that," Sinope answered after being informed about certain royals, his extra enthusiasm translating to sarcasm. At least he thought royals were whom the other male was listing off; presumably White Moon Senshi Royals. He wasn't in the mood to ask for clarification.
Though he was genuinely grateful for the info, he was too sore from his wounded pride to express it and too annoyed with the other teen for tossing out facts like they were things every senshi was supposed to know upon being Awakened. Yes, he said he'd been curious, but it wasn't as if he'd specifically asked about anything, yet. He wondered how forthcoming the guy would continue to be if Sinope changed that. "So that's all fine and dandy, but since I don't expect or intend to meet any of those people in my life, why don't you spout something a little more relevant, huh? Like your name, for instance."
A triumphant finger jabbed the air just in front of the other young man's nose. "HA!" the redhead cried. "Something you don't know about our court, either! Who do you think you are, telling me what to do when you're not even a Dark Mirror Senshi? Especially if you're not sure about those things yourself!" Crossing his arms again, he proclaimed, "I'll eat starseeds if I damn well please, so you can mind your own business, Sir Bleeds-a-lot. If I want to learn this stuff, I can go out there and find out for myself." Fuming, he headed for the restroom door. "I'll find out more than you'll ever know about our court because guess what? Unlike you, I'm a freaking Dark Mirror Senshi."

Oberon’s brows furrowed at the suggestion that he’d indicated there were such a thing as good guys and bad guys, as though there was a moral code that neatly separated people from right and wrong, and it took him a moment to realize it must have been what he’d said about Remarque.
“Oh, no. Of course there is no such thing as good and bad guys, I meant… he’s a nice guy, or whatever. He’s friendly and I don’t know. My stupid brother thinks he’s trustworthy or something,” he explained, lifting his hands into the air as though indicating that he didn’t know how else to explain it.
Wow, this guy did not take well to not knowing these things, to which Oberon’s eyes widened a bit in surprise. He supposed it was natural to want to know things. He’d been told many times that he was a bit of a know-it-all, and that did nothing for him in the realm of making friends.
It was Oberon’s turn to make a sour expression when Sinope jabbed his finger at Oberon’s nose, and Oberon lifted his hand to push the other’s away.
“You do know that eating starseeds ends the existence of people, right?” he frowned, calling after the senshi as he headed towards the door. “Starseeds need to be reborn to continue the reincarnation cycle, but sure, go ahead and kill off people you could have known in your past lives, that’s fine!”
Ridiculous. These people had no idea what they were doing. This was why he preferred dealing with youma rather than people. Kitomyx We can either continue or wrap! Whatever you'd like! <3

"Oh." Upon the clarification regarding being a 'good' guy, a great deal of Sinope's angry gusto left him to be replaced with pleasant surprise. He halted and turned to regard the other teen. "...I see." This guy didn't buy into the dualities of good and bad? That was...well, honestly, refreshing.
There was some sort of spiteful satisfaction the Senshi of Slyness gained from seeing the other sailor scout's expression go sour. Sinope smirked triumphantly as his hand was pushed away.
"Blah, blah, blah; you're not making any sense," he jeered, leaning a shoulder against one of the restroom walls. "And people call me a know-it-all. Sheesh. Like you have any proof of reincarnation and past lives."
Something else the other young man said rankled Sinope enough to push off his support and walk right back up to the super senshi, albiet with a more serious and somewhat calmer demeanor than he had originally begun to depart with.
"Listen, you. I'm just as curious as the next knowledge-seeker, but you're not making much sense to me. You're spouting off all these random bits of information, but you still haven't so much as given me your name, which is the one thing I did ask for. Now as someone you were originally expecting to kill or corrupt you, I can understand your wanting to withhold that from me. But then why are you giving me all these other facts and expecting me to believe you?"
Running a hand through his disheveled hair, his eared hood dropped. "You strike me as the sort of person who understands the power that knowledge bestows. But if that's the case, I don't get why you're arming someone you expected to harm you with weapons you know are dangerous. You don't owe me that knowledge, but if you keep this up, I'm going to owe you, and I really hate being indebted to anyone."
He raised a thick brow. "Unless, of course...all the things you've just told me were lies to throw me off."Guine ((Haha...I think Sinope may have decided he has more to say to Oberon after all, for which I apologize. sweatdrop ))

Oberon merely raised his eyebrows when Sinope claimed that he didn’t have proof, watching as the other senshi leaned up against the wall. Back on his own feel, Oberon hobbled over to the sink to wash his hands, trying to get what he could of the blood off.
“I’m a scientist. If I don’t have proof then I usually don’t talk about it,” he said with a shrug. “Whether you believe me or not is on you. And you haven’t given me your name either,” he pointed out, turning back to look the senshi over. “I didn’t give you my name because you looked like you were ready to head out the door.” But since the other seemed to want to chat more, Oberon let out an exasperated breath.
“My name is Oberon, senshi of adventure. And I suggested that you might try to kill or corrupt me. Not that you would succeed. I was just hoping to save you the time by warning you it’s not worth your effort.”
This guy… he talked a lot. More than Oberon talked sometimes. But the thing that drew Oberon’s attention was the fact that this guy seemed to take the information he was given as a good thing and not really telling Oberon to stop. Just that it was probably not a good idea.
“I don’t think we’re enemies, that’s why I’m telling you these things. And I want to protect starseeds from being destroyed. My friends and I rescued a bunch from the Negaverse just a couple years ago when we infiltrated their negaspace, or whatever they call it. You don’t have you believe me if you don’t want to, but why don’t you ask your prince Remarque whether or not I’m telling the truth.”

Sinope waved a hand. "I didn't give you my name because you didn't ask. But fair enough." He smirked at the name he was given, recognizing it as that of the fairy king from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Knight's Dream. He wondered if the guy knew Sailor Puck.
"Yeah? Why is it not worth my effort?" he asked, curious as to the White Moon Senshi's answer.
He nodded until the term 'friends' came up and then made a face. "Okay, so what did you do after you rescued them? It's not exactly easy to find out if their owners still live or who to return them to if they do, right?"

There was a long, hard moment in which Oberon waited. His jaw tensed and the line of his mouth tightened as he waited for the other to introduce himself, but when it seemed as though he wasn’t going to without a request, Oberon let out an exasperated breath.
“And you are…??” he forced, lifting a hand palm up as though to encourage the other to speak.
“It wouldn’t be worth the effort because you wouldn’t succeed,” Oberon said simply with a shrug. He wasn’t going to be killed so easily, and corrupted? Not a chance.
“The starseeds were returned to the Cauldron. It’s where all starseeds are kept until they’re reborn. If someone’s starseed is removed for too long, the person will die, but their soul can be reborn if the starseed is intact, at least from my understanding. Yes, I know it’s a pain to just believe something you can’t touch or see, but I’ve been to the moon, I’ve met Sailor Cosmos who takes care of the Cauldron and the starseeds, and I saw them disappear once we gave them to her.”

Sinope put a hand over his heart and uttered a dramatic gasp upon being inquired about his name. "I thought you'd never ask!" He clasped the raised palm in a hearty handshake, knowing full well that it probably hadn't been extended for that purpose, and answered with a big grin, "Sailor Sinope, Senshi of Slyness. Delighted to meet you, Oberon, sir. You wouldn't happen to secretly be royalty, would you?"
His grin dropped when he was given his answer in regards to the worthiness of his effort. "Uh...huh." Scratching his head, he affected a perplexed manner as he said, "Are you referring to my abilities? Man, for a second there, I thought you were actually smart. Don't you know better than to underestimate your opponent?" His brow was raised above the other again and his smirk had returned. "Particularly when you know almost nothing about them. I could have been the Senshi of Corruption for all you knew, and corrupting and killing could have come as easily to me as snapping my fingers." He performed the aforementioned gesture for emphasis.
Blinking at the explaination of starseeds, Sinope took a moment. Then he asked, "So basically the people those starseeds were stolen from are still doomed, but it's okay because their souls will live on." He rolled his eyes. "Whole lot of good that will do the loved ones they left behind..." he muttered. "Cauldron or no Cauldron, I'm failing to see why it's worth the trouble if one's life is lost. It's not like a reborn soul will recognize anyone or anything from their past, will they?"

”I’m not underestimating you at all. I’m just warning you that it wouldn’t do good to underestimate me,” Oberon said as he managed to pull his hand free of the other’s grasp, although it really wasn’t hurting anything to share a handshake.
The comment about him being royalty had him snorting in amusement, as well as the followed comment about Sinope having the potential to be senshi of corruption.
“That would be something, wouldn’t it? And who ever said I was smart?” Oberon wondered. It depended on the definition of smart, of course. Booksmart, sure. He could study and get good grades, but he was still working on other things. He was no genius, at least for what he wanted to be.
“You don’t know if a reborn soul will recognize someone. But people do sometimes remember things about their past lives, and realize the connections they had with others. Do you not believe in the concept of soulmates? Having a bond with someone that transcends time itself?”
