The tv tonight features a bubbly tealblood announcer, prancing and strutting around on a large, brightly lit stage. Hanging behind her are sparkling sequined curtains, and a large, luxurious banner. "Hey sweet things! It's me, Razzle Dazzle, the darling announcer from your favourite late morning chat shows! Are you all having a lovely night? I hope you're as excited as I am to introduce Superstar Authority!"
Clapping her hands together with a bubbly wink, she points directly at the camera with her free hand. "Are you a sparkling star? How about a flickering flame? Do you want to charm Alternia with your talents? Grasp it's heart with your meaningful existence? Get lifted up onto a pedestal of adoration? Then this is the competition for you! Superstar Authority is a talent-seeking event where we find and crown the next generation of Alternia's stars! Come on down to your local tv station to fill out an application. We've got branches in NHC, Four Fronds, Chittentown and of course, at our headquarters in Civisect City!"
Twirling, she prances to the side, the camera panning to follow her. "We've been working together with her majesty, the empress to create some fabulous prizes for the trolls who truly capture the hearts of our audience. You might win the opportunity to become the face of one of our glorious cities, or perhaps ... our planet itself! Oooh!"
Spinning back the way she came, the troll bounces to a stop between three cardboard cut-outs of Regina Marian, Aandes LeMode and Odette Cygnet. "Of course we'll have a wonderful cast of trolls to judge your competition. Helping us bring this contest to the entirety of the planet is the one and only Royal Empress of Alternia! Giving us a beautiful business savvy and critical eye will be the renowned talent-seeker Aandes LeMode! And last but not least, to give us a view of stardom from our current belle of the media circuit, Odette Cygnet! They all look forwards to meeting each contestant and getting to know you all."
Does your troll think they have what it takes to become the darling of an entire planet? If they do, then they should join Superstar Authority. This mini-meta will take place over 4 weeks, and feature an opportunity to kickstart any in-character dreams of fame and fortune through wide media exposure.
Characters can participate as competitors, sponsors, or civilians. Civilians are people not competing, merely cheering the competitors on. Sponsors can sign up if they either run a business, or are a purpleblood. This gives them the chance to hitch their wagon to a rising star, and benefit from any fame and fortune that their sponsored superstar receives. Competitors are, of course, trolls who are competing in the actual event.
Competitors, civilians and sponsors will all be eligible for end-game prizes and ep. You may only register ONE troll as a competitor and ONE DIFFERENT troll as a sponsor. Competitors will be given close media scrutiny and if they have had past .... differences with the law, or are not a registered citizen of the Alternian Royal Government, they will not be able to slip through with a disguise. This meta is not open to quest trolls.

Any troll can do meta-themed rps from the day this thread is posted, until the 19th. As long as they reach minimum wordcount, they can be used at the end for prizes. Sponsors rping with their sponsees in an official capacity can be even more beneficial!
Week 1: Introductions Monday, May 22 - Sunday, May 28
The first day of the competition will be broadcast from NHC on global prime-time television.
All competitors will have one OOC week to IC introduce themselves via a short monologue, and if they want, pre-recorded talent video (done via solo post).
Week 2: Meet and Greets Monday, May 29 - Sunday, June 4
Each competitor will, during the next few days, host a meet and greet in their home city, to meet with prospective fans one-on-one.
All competitors can set up bloodfest-esque booths, using a provided template, and stock it with (1) a signed poster advertising themselves, (2) any sponsor item they've gained from pc or npc sponsors, (3) any personalized items from past bloodfests (bobblehead, body pillow, etc) (4) talent-based items that they can justifiably* have.
These booths can be visited for the next two weeks (week 2 and week 3) by civilians who can pick one item to bring home from the booth via a solo post.
*If your troll has, in a past rp, performed songs/dance/etc they can have a recording of it. If your troll has, in a past rp, created various works of art, they can have copies to distribute. Etc, etc. These must have been from rps started before this event. If you want to know if something can be used, ask on discord or below!
Competitors are not required to rp with each troll who visits their booth, but can improve their chances to win by replying to any requests given by civilians (to have a photo taken, a special signature on the poster, etc). Sponsors can also help at the meet and greets by taking a similar role where possible (thanking people for visiting, handing them their item, fielding difficut fans, etc).
Week 3: TV Interview Monday, June 5 - Sunday, June 11
Each competitor will, during the same time as the meet and greets, get a one on one interview broadcast live on global prime-time television to help the citizens of Alternia learn more about them.
All competitors can complete a solo rp in which they select 7 questions from a pre-written pool and reply to them, doing their best to sell themselves to the viewers.
Civilians & sponsors can then post replies of them watching the show, or for sponsors, watching from backstage. Civilians can phone in to ask their own questions, that the competitor can choose to respond to in the studio.
Week 4: Performance Monday, June 12 - Sunday, June 18
The last day of the competition is time for the hopeful stars to strut their stuff! Filmed before a live audience in Four Frond's Imperious Coliseum and broadcast live across the nation, all competitors will put on their final performance.
All competitors will have one week OOC to ICly put on a show. Each will be required to lip-synch over a pre-written song (can take an earth song and Alternia-fy it, or write your own!), and then do a performance of their own choice after, from driving a dirt-bike around on the stage, to fifteen minutes of silent mime.
Civilians & sponsors can post either watching from home or in the stadium themselves. Civilians can then participate in an anonymous vote for their favourite superstar! Civilians can only vote for superstars that they have either visited the meet and greet booth of, watched their tv interview, or rped with them directly in the past.
All the above activities that have been mentioned for each role, from meta rp to the individual activities, are what we will be using to reward activity prizes at the end.
There will be five ways to win a title in the competition,one per city and one grand winner.

If you have a competitor and want to prepare for the final week (19-25)!
Tonight you aren't at the studio in NHC - instead you were shipped out to Four Fronds along with the rest of the contestants. The Imperious Coliseum has been given a full-face makeover, much like yourself. Instead of a dirt fighting arena, the center has now been transformed into an enormous stage, covered in high powered lights. Enormous screens cover three of the four sides, allowing trolls watching from all angles to see a front view of whoever's on the stage at the moment, and the only way to get up onto the massive structure is via a stage elevator built into the floor.
For your performance, you were given the opportunity to write down what you want to happen when you're on stage. What lights you want, if you want a backdrop, any smoke or special effects, backup dancers, etc were all prepared for you in advance by the Superstar Authority crew. Now, primped and fluffed, smelling like perfumes and the controlled chaos of backstage, you stand on the elevator, waiting to be raised up and onto the stage. In your mind's eye, you can see your goals.
Start with a bang! Make an exciting entrance, show off your outfit! The announcer will give your name, so you don't need to let people know who you are. First you must perform and lip synch along with a song of your choice. It doesn't have to be written by you, and your vocals can be processed all you want - the focus is the performance and your stage presence rather than the lyrics and your actual vocal talent.
Finish your performance standing on top of the elevator (marked with an x made of tape on the floor) and you will be lowered back down for a quick costume change, if you want, and time for you to gather any props necessary. Then, you will be raised back up for the second half of your performance, the talent part.
Here you have free reign to show off however you want. You can dance, sing (again), juggle, mime, read poetry, or whatever you want. Remember though, this is a performance for the ages, and you need to leave people with something they will remember.
As always, you should work in your catchphrase, display your charm points, shout out to your home city, and give full credit to your sponsors with their names and catchphrases. Work these in to your performance wherever you'd like, from background decorations to putting them in your lyrics. There will be no time for a last speech at the end, so wherever you can put any of that stuff, jam it in there.
Finish your second half on the x again, say goodbye to the audience one last time, and you'll be lowered back down for some sweet respite! As you finish reviewing this, there's a shudder and the elevated floor begins to rise, carrying you up into the bright stage lights and screams of the audience ...

This should be all written as a solo, with no prompts. It's all up to you! Groups will follow the same guidelines as before, just attempt to write it out as 50/50 as possible. Remember to follow the underlined guides as close as possible, as they reinforce the key points that will be considered for how well you do. Must be 200 words or more, again, unrealistically small goal.
