A place for Rayne to hide out whenever he is sent out from the castle. Shadira and Dimitri have no idea this place exists.

"Up ahead....hurry!"A boy and a girl were running through the woods. Something was after them and they could do nothing to stop whatever it was. Their guns were useless and none of their magic was working. The boy spotted a cabin ahead. It would be a place of refuge for them. They were ahead but who knows when it would catch up. They didn't want to take the chance. Since he was the faster one, he reached the cabin and the door opened easily. He turned and held out his hand."Ritsy! Hurry."He was panting as the female grabbed it and he pulled her in and shut the door tightly. It was silent in the cabin, aside from their panting. He held onto the female tightly as she was shaking among her pants. He walked to the back side of the cabin, holding onto the female, and sunk to the floor. Her voice came at a small whisper to him. She listened to her."I hope...I hope."Her shaking wasn't stopping. He decided to stroke her head like their mother did when they were scared. She calmed down almost instantly."I'll protect you, Ritsu. I promise nothing will happen to my dear sister."He held her until both of their pants became soft and slow as both fell into a slumber.

Running....that's all she could focus on. Soon a cabin came into their sight. The boy just ahead was running towards it. Soon he called out to her to hurry and held out his hand. Without thinking, she jumped to grab it and he pulled her inside, holding her, tightly. She was shaking, panting. She only hoped that whatever it was wouldn't find them. The male pulled her to the back end of the cabin where he sunk to the ground, her legs gladly giving in. Her eyes were shut tight, scared to open them. She could hear his heart beat, it was racing, as was hers."Riky....are....we....safe?"Her words came out as a mere whisper. It surprised even her that it was all she could muster out. They had been running for miles, if not 20. She didn't know how much longer she could have held up. She was shaking up until she felt a hand stroking her head, and she calmed down. When he spoke to her, the vibrations in his chest continued to calm her nerves. She soon fell asleep to him rubbing her head.

Rayne stood in front of the cabin and released a sigh of relief. Shadira had sent him out on a mission to get rid of problem. He didn't like the idea of hurting anyone, but couldn't resist her magic. 'At least she can't find me out here. I was so happy when I found this place. And I don't want to go back to the castle just yet.' He pulled his cloak down over his face and walked inside, taking notice to the two people. 'Where did they come from? I'd hate to wake them up, but I can't take the risk of them being enemies.'"Who are you? And what are you doing here?"

Riku woke up to the sound of another male voice. He didn't look too happy but Riku understood why. This was probably his home and they sort of barged in on it. His sister, amazingly, still was asleep, for the moment."Forgive us. We were being chased. When this place came into view, we didn't think but to use it as a hiding spot. My sister and I were chased from our home by some....evil that seemed to continue to follow us."His grip on his sister tightened which made her wake up."Please, don't throw us back out to that evil. I'm scared it may drag us back to watch the horrors that have befallen our home."He loosened his grip when he heard the faint sounds of his sister in his arms.

Ritsu was awoken by her brother tightening his hold on her. She heard the mutterings of that first pull into consciousness from her slumber and realized her brother was talking to someone else."Riku...hurting me..."Her brother's hold was very strong and compared to her small frame, was easily crushed by him. His grip loosened upon hearing her voice.

Rayne relaxed a little and sighed. 'I couldn't send them away. What kind of person would I be if I did? No one should have to go through that kind of suffering.' He pulled his cloak off and laid it on a nearby chair before turning back to the newcomers. "Alright. Who are you? Tell me about this evil." Rayne didn't really like the idea of them being in his cabin, but he wasn't about to turn down people in need. After all, he knew what it was like to feel fear and he could sense that the male was telling the truth.

Ritsu looked over to the boy."My name is Ritsu. This is my brother Riku."Her eyes went down to her hands as she stood up and brushed herself off. Her eyes stayed lowered."The evil....it was filled with pain...darkness...suffering. Our magic was rendered useless. Our guns had no effect on it. All we could do is run. Riku did all he could to protect me, but I....I was terrified at one point, I stopped running. He had to pull me just to get me running again. I was starting to loose stamina. That's when we found your cabin."Ritsu finally looked up to him. Her eyes reflecting the horror that they saw and felt.

Riku sat on the floor as his sister stood, pulling one knee up to prop an arm on. At some point, he covered his face with the supported hand."I couldn't let that thing consume my sister. Or me for that matter, but we were at our end. Our legs crying out in pain to stop."His hand dropped and his hair covered his eyes."Ritsu and I....we can't go back. Not since Niflheim invaded our home. And being influential people that we are, we either fall to them or run for our lives. And we did just that."Riku stood up behind his sister and laid a hand on her shoulder.

Rayne listened to everything they had to say, looking down a little. "I'm Rayne. Stay here as long as you need, but I wouldn't come here too often. I don't want the location of this cabin getting out. And I know fear all too well. Like you, I ran away from something and somehow found this place. It's been my hideout ever since." Sighing, he looked up and turned to the stairs. "If you're still tired, there's a bed upstairs. It's definitely more comfortable than the floor."

I can't doubt that our bodies are still tired from all the running."She smiled at Rayne."If you know fear then we aren't much different. Our lives were constantly hunted. And now since Lucis was taken over, we live in even more fear. I sense that this place is not Lucis nor our home."She walked to the bottom of the stairs."Could explain why our magic isn't working. We don't have the crystal to give us our magic."

"There is no place by that name around here." Rayne said. "This is just one of many worlds. Not to mention that there are other ways to use magic. You just have to find it. And I happen to know that there is a weapon shop around here. You could go there to get your weapons modified to work here as well." He smiled, believing that he actually made a couple of friends. It was a little strange, but he could grow to like it. Then again, someone like him couldn't have friends. It was too dangerous for anyone to be around him and Shadira would use them against him. "Why don't you just stay here until you have everything figured out? This world even has a special academy."

Ritsu turned around and nodded."Our gun still work here as they don't run on the crystal's magic but upon our own energy. So that is a good thing. But we will have to look at this shop and see if maybe there is something we can use to harness our magic again."She listened to him speak about an academy, but she ended up giggling."I doubt we could apply to be students, but maybe they are hiring for staff...."Ritsu placed a hand on his arm."How about you? Are you a student there?"

Riku watched his sister and to see her smile again, it brought a tear to his eye. Recently, even before they were chased, his sister had always had a feeling something was going to happen in Lucis and stopped smiling. He didn't have a sister complex, but her smile meant the world to him. He listened to her and Rayne and nodded."Yes. Our guns still answered to our call or some point we must have changed dimensions after calling our guns."He went silent again listening, thinking. He silently spoke his sister's gun name so Rayne wouldn't hear it and it appeared in his hands. So the guns still answered to their masters. But their magic was still completely useless as they could not conjure anything up."Ritsy. Why don't you stay here and I will go search for a place. Rayne....protect my sister. Please."Riku said suddenly..

"It's a good shop from what I hear." Rayne said. "It's ran by one person and she makes everything in there. She can even do repairs if you ever need any." When he was asked if he was a student, he turned away and looked down. "No. I'm no student." He kept his gaze on the floor, thinking about everything that he had been through over the past six years. There were so many people that he had hurt, killed even. It wasn't like it was his fault at all. He was too afraid of Shadira and Dimitri to fight back. Not to mention the curse upon his choker. Rayne was completely zoned out until he heard Riku speak up. "I will protect her for as long as I can. Once we part ways, please forget you ever met me."

Ritsu watched as Riku left and she was surprised by Rayne's words."How can you say something like that? Rayne, I don't think I can ever forget your kindness that you have shown to me and my brother."Ritsu stood up on one step to roughly be the same height as him. She faced him and placed her hands on his shoulders."Rayne, if it wasn't for you telling us we aren't in Lucis anymore, we both would have been still cowering in fear. And you are giving us permission to stay in this cabin while we look for a place to stay. I don't think I can ever forget what you have shown us today."Ritsu smiled at Rayne."Whatever you may fear cannot be defeated by the kindness that you have shown. My brother and I were complete strangers, yet you didn't throw us out when you had full right to do so."

Rayne wasn't sure what to say at all. He wasn't used to anyone being so kind to him. It was strange, but it felt nice. "It's better if you stay away from me. Everyone that gets around me is in danger. If they were to find out about you two, it would be awful. I can't take that risk." Rayne never wanted to hurt anyone at all. And the last thing he wanted to do was hurt his friends. How many had to die because of that witch? Shadira may have been the one in control, but they were killed by his hands. "I've hurt so many people already. I don't want to hurt you two as well. If you're away from me, then they will leave you alone. You have no idea what I've been through or done."

Ritsu didn't understand but she understood that he was being forced to do things against his will from the sounds of things. There had to be a way to save him."I...If that is what you want....but you don't have to live in fear.....if someone is hurting you or forcing you to do something, then you should seek out help."Ritsu's smiled had faded. She then pulled him into her embrace and stood there hugging him."And don't be afraid of hurting others....and I don't mean in the physical sense. That fear is one that you can't help but fear. But I am talking about in the emotional sense. You never know when you might meet someone that has had a similar experience or can listen to you. And NEVER tell someone to forget you after parting ways. Just tell them you can't see them often."Ritsu let go of Rayne and then looked up the stairs."In any sense, I am going to go get some rest. I am still quite drained."

Rayne wasn't sure what to do or say at that point. He listened to every single word Ritsu said and was surprised when she hugged him. Rayne couldn't even think of a time when someone did that. Looking down, he gripped his arm and turned away from her. 'You don't even know me Ritsu and yet you are still so kind. That goes for your brother as well. I'm not sure what I should do now.'"Thank you for your kind words Ritsu. No one has ever said that to me. Perhaps I've let fear get the best of me." At that moment, one of the gems changed from red to blue. "I will be down here if you need anything."
