If he can't be heard then he can't persuade them. He can't make them do something that they would never do in a million years. For an example have a loving mom get rid of a child. The maternal instinct would override him. If he was sick and lost his voice his powers would not work. Recordings have no power to them.

while a decent person he tends to be prideful. He proud he has gotten as far as he has. He snarky and sarcastic and can come off as an a*****e. He nice to fans as he kinda needs him. If given choices he will go with the one that benefits him.
What is their backstory?
Jasper doesn't know much about the parent that took the time to make him. He had been taken by child protective services when he was 4 years old old. He was in the system for a while where he found he liked music and eventually was adopted by a well off couple looking to adopt a unfortunate but talented kid. Finding 8yr old Jasper and his singing ability he was chosen. Little did they know his power had started coming in though it wasn't strong. It had help in his selection. They helped hone this skill albeit skipping a few life lessons that would have helped him become a nicer person. He got his big break in his late teens. He had been bugging an agent at a record label but had been ignored. Fed up he demanded he at least get heard. His power had fully kicked in at this age and the guy convinced and they set a time for him to perform for the agent. The audition worked and he began his road to fame gaining quite the fan base.
