- Pheromone Manipulation: Alex can manipulate his own Pheromones to a variety of degrees. Alex can manipulate them to induce attraction to a nearby subject. This is usually how Alex gets free drinks. Alex can even exude amounts of pheromones strong enough to induce sleep, change emotions, and even draw people's attention. On top of being able to use his pheromones to make himself less noticeable to difficult to track, Alex can use pheromones to slightly alter the physical capabilities of anyone nearby.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- Stronger Smells: Putrid, horrible, or even just very strong smells greatly dampen Alex's powers.
Fear: Alex's powers shut themselves down should Alex be influenced by the feeling of dread and fear. His powers remain off until after his body calms down to a normal level.
Addictive: Alex's powers have an addictive effect to those who have been influenced by his Pheromones for too long. This causes a number of problems for Alex in various ways.
➳ How do they act?
- Alex is a generally Kind individual, he could be described as 'Reluctantly Nice'. He's not mean, but he feels that he shouldn't have to constantly show it. Alex feels that as long as he's not being a blantent Jerk, that it is good enough. Others don't share this view though. Alex is not a "dishonest" person, but he tends to share more "underdeveloped" thoughts. This leads to multiple miscommunications and other mishaps against Alex's will.
Alex often blends into the corner of a room, not usually interacting with others. This doesn't mean that he doesn't pay attention, however. Alex may not look like he's paying attention, but he does and is good at multitasking like that. When thrown into a crowd of people, Alex will usually keep Quiet. Any time he needs to be the center of attention, Alex will handle it gracefully before attempting to slide out of the spotlight and back into the shadows so to speak.
➳ What's their backstory?
- Alex was born to a seemingly loving couple with their own set of powers they had gained from interaction with the Chicago Experiment. His Mother had a form of elasticity while his father had an advanced form of super strength. Alex's own powers wouldn't manifest until he reached the age of five or so.
Alex's Parents had tried to be superheros int hier own rights, but it was far from successful. His father was reckless while his mother was overly cautious. This lead to multiple lawsuits that resulted in his family moving multiple times. after the third move, Alex's father became an alcoholic while his mother began to battle with what could best be described as schizophrenia. Due to their crippling bills and lawsuits, they both turned to a life of petty crime in order to make do.
It wouldn't be long before Alex's parents would get into massive fights within their home. This usually happened when Alex's father was drunk beyond belief and his mother was not quite herself. It wouldn't be long before Alex was caught within the fighting. This resulted in multiple broken bones, fractures, and bruises that his parents would blame on "Kids being Kids". Unfortunately it was these beatings that triggered his powers.
Alex wasn't sure exactly when his powers first started working, but he knew he became aware of their effects after some time. His parents slowly became more and more irritable the longer they left the house. It slowly got to the point where his parents stopped leaving the house all together. This left them to argue near constantly only to go out on to the porch for several seconds before turning back around.
By the time Alex knew what his powers were and what they could do, it was too late. Alex spent the day at one of his classmates house, working on a project. When he returned home, he had found that the inside was in shambles. His parents needed their fix and Alex wasn't around. This resulted in one of the worst beatings Alex could remember. It triggered his powers and knocked out his parents before knocking out half the street. Alex was gone before the Paramedics showed up.
After leaving his home, Alex took Refuge among the homeless in the abandoned subway stations of New York City. He figured that he would be harder to find if he didn’t leave much of a paper trail. If he had gotten an apartment or, gods forbid, visited child services, then his parents would be able to find him with no trouble. Heck, Child Services might have actually returned Alex to his parents, where the child never would have seen the light of day again.
Alex used what money he had to get a charade in place. Since he would still be socializing with others, he needed to be clean, so he had gotten himself a gym membership. There was a great deal on a life time membership for several dollars a month, so Alex jumped on it. There was some insane termination fee of a couple thousand dollars, but Alex didn’t worry about that. He dressed himself in heavy clothing to hide his bodily features that stood out.
Afterwards, Alex got himself a P.O. Box at a post office on the far side of the City. He would need to mail things eventually, mostly false letters written by his “Parents”. A PO Box made it so schools, officials, and whoever could mail things to Alex’s “parents”. He had claimed that they were very low tech and didn’t believe in Cell Phones, computers, or anything. This was backed up with the reasoning “They do not trust Big Brother” and "Mom bit the Mailman once".
Despite looking clean and presentable, Alex had his own Hovel among the Homeless. He had used his powers to leave a lingering pheromone that kept a makeshift tent free for him. It was salvaged from a sporting goods dumpster, but it was better than nothing. The only thing that kept other homeless from knocking it down or stealing his spot was a guy named Ben.
No one knew what Ben’s real name was; He would just say that his name was Ben and that it was all people needed. He was some veteran of some war and ended up in the Homeless community for some undisclosed reason. Many thought it was because he had anger issues and super Strength, because everyone avoided Ben when he was mad. This didn’t Deter Alex though, he quickly became a good friend of Ben's.
Ben was the first person to Show Alex any form of Kindness after arriving in the city. Ben Helped Alex find a spot to make his temporary home near his own spot. Alex, in turn, would always bring Ben back some food from a random diner or cafe any time he would leave his spot. They would then play a few rounds of chess before letting Alex move on. It was a daily routine that Alex thoroughly enjoyed.
When Ben passed away, No one seemed to notice. Well, no one noticed because they all avoided that particular area from then on. Ben's Passing resulted in Alex's Powers leaving a pheromone that made everyone feel what he felt at that moment. When the paramedics removed Ben's body, they almost dropped it while trying to get as far away as they could.
At the time, Ben was Alex’s only friend and Alex was struck with a nice assortment of emotions that he didn’t want to understand or deal with when he passed away. So Alex began to wander deeper and deeper into the City. He was curious about many things, things that came naturally as one grew older. Alex would use his Powers in order to seduce and trick those he found attractive. It wouldn't be long before he used this ability in order to get into some bars and Clubs.
Since Alex did not own a fake ID, he would Frequent Back Alley bars and Shady clubs almost on a daily basis and use his powers to persuade men to buy him a drink. By the Age of 18, Alex was using alcohol to fill the every growing void that was supposed to filled with caring friends and family. He was always careful to know his limit, however, because he never wanted his powers to slide out of his control.
Even after graduating School, Alex remained off the grid and among the Homeless. He didn’t have as many social obligations as before, but he never wanted anyone to be able to track him down and take him back to the life he once had. By now, most of his initial funds were spent. He had gotten into the habit of using his powers in order to pickpocket and convince strangers with the promise of paying it back. It was a city and Alex was certain that no one would remember him long
Alex had his first major encounter with others who had strange abilities one sunny afternoon when a monster broke through the streets and into the Subway systems. Alex had encountered the creature while he had been attempting to return to his home after a long, long night of drinking. This was also Alex's first combat experience with his powers, as the creature attacked him once it saw him.
Being Fairly Smart, Alex knew too well that he was intoxicated but also knew how to partially compensate for that. When the Monster swung to attack Alex, the area filled with Alex's scent. Since Alex was intoxicated, all he did was pass the intoxication feeling to the monster attacking. This caused the monster to miss Alex and lose his balance by over swinging. Once the monster was on the ground, it flopped like a fish trying to get back up.
This was when he found his calling as a Hero.

- Should Alex's powers be activated while in a state of fear, it would result in his fear spreading through the streets as his pheromones fill several city blocks.
If an Addiction to Alex's Pheromones is strong enough, the withdrawal process will also remove all memories of Alex once completed. This means meaningful relationships are next to useless for Alex
Alex wears a Unique "Smart Watch" designed by his alcoholic bar Friends. It is modified to suck up a small portion of his pheromones to use a later date. It can only hold one Pheromone at a time and is never as strong when released. It also acts like a normal smart Watch and can sync with his cell phone.
