He will proportionally increase in physical strength and durability to whatever he absorbs. He cannot absorb liquids or gases, and has no interest in trying.

What is their personality like?
Shakir is always confident in himself and his powers, despite the odds. He can be a bit cocky and reckless, but he has good intentions, and is loyal to a fault. He also has a tendency to crack jokes, either to soothe the nerves or simply because he can. His sense of morality keeps him where he is, and he feels very strongly about preserving life; he refuses to take a life, and believes there is always another way.
What is their backstory?
Shakir grew up in New Jersey, and realized his powers when he was twelve; his hand began to change while he was touching a pole, realizing it turned into stainless steel. He kept his powers a secret, leading a normal life up until 2007, when he heard of others like him, and the organization that sought to make peace between humans and deviants, whom he sought out in order to meet others like himself and learn about his own powers. It helped him embrace his status as a deviant, and come to terms with his own capabilities.
After the fighting broke out, he remained with his original friends, and fights against those who would seek to enslave humanity.
