The arena is brightly lit. In the center of it is a square platform, and next to the platform seats, in two rings, all around the space. It seems like a rather small platform for the finals, compared to massive space of the duel arena, but there seems to be a reason.

"ALL VISITORS AND CONTESTANTS, WELCOME TO THE SENSATIONAL TRADING CARD GAME FINALS."

Immediately, about five spotlights, all orange, light up the center stage. One of them has a bat silhouette on it. "May we invite our fantastic finals duelists for a treat of their lives. Settle in now, everyone settle in!"

There's a lot artificially generated cheering and whoops, and when the last of the arrivals have seated-

- The platform below folds open, to reveal that they are actually standing ON THE TOP OF A MOTHERF*CKING BLIMP. It's a little more bat-shaped and edgy, covered in spiders, but it does its trick as thousands of batling minipets take to the sky and rise it up, up, very slowly into the air.

"Hang onto your clothing and hats because the ride is just getting started so all spectators cheer for your favourite duelist and may the best win!"

It's a little chilly and the bat blimp is still rising, but at least the view is impeccable.

"Wow, this place is so spooktacular!" As she continually scanned her surroundings with no shortage of repetitiveness to her sweeping gaze, her amazement was as clear as the sight of the moon in the sky on a cloudless, moonlit night. And, you bat-ter believe she was in awe of this location. "Woah, this is all so spooktacular!" Yup, Alpinely will probably never tire of declaring how spooktacular she finds much of what she encounters.

Deacon had come to check out the finals of the stupid card game he'd been trying to avoid getting sucked into for as long as it had begun to come into popularity. Sure, he had cards. Granted he used most of them as bookmarks or drink coasters, but it still meant he owned them. If they were ever valuable, they certainly weren't anymore.

The bakeneko didn't even have a dedicated interest in the event. He was just bored, wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and probably laugh at the losers just because he could.

He hadn't planned on being there long, and in fact since he had learned that Yuki had somehow made it this far haste was actually important. The ghost being distracted meant that Deacon had more time to try and get into his dorm without permission to look for anything he might want to take off his hands.

Of course, just as his fate typically went, plans did not go in his favor. As soon as the platform revealed itself as a flying arena of some sort, Deacon was less bothered by how ridiculous it all was, and just pissed off that he couldn't jump off. Unless he wanted to suffer dissipation or at least broken bones in result, which was never appealing...

"Well, ******** it all." Deacon growled to himself, loud as it was. He dropped into a seat and crossed his arms in annoyance, actively glaring down at the finalists like they were to blame for his misfortune. Which, really, they kind of were.

Uru had brought Brenna along for the finals of the TCG Tournament. Who would have thought that the scarling card game would be such a huge - and expensive, event? Even he was a little baffled by the stadium's enormity as they walked in the entrance. Such a huge space in the middle of the stadium - probably where the duelists will take their place. Hopefully, there is some sort of screen that they can watch off of because they are gonna be so jacking far that he wouldn't be able to see the plays. And, given the size of the venue, any sort of commentator will just be calling out each player's hands to one another... Which would be unfair.

If it weren't for his entry level deck, he might have been able to make decent plays. He could commend himself for getting a stage 3 - especially his own card - out in three turns a win. However, that should be the norm. He lacked the artifacts to accompany the deck's viability, but with only one artifact per booster ... and only having six of them, didn't guarantee that he had the artifacts to make his deck work. Even more, didn't mean he'd be lucky enough to even draw them. And with that unfortunate miss too... To be honest, he was still getting into the swings of the game and, if he was being true to himself, he spent much of the game slowplaying because he was over thinking his moves.

When the stadium begin to lift, his arm reactively reached over to take hold of his younger sister. For... protection. For the ever living jack was it's idea to take this thing into the air!?

Then, the following thought also occurred to Alpinely: it would have been spooktacular if she had succeeded in convincing Danirate (and whether Alpinely knew or not that the other vampire student would refer to Alpinely's usual ways of supposedly rather simply convincing him as tenacious but somehow subtle torture was quite besides the point) to be here as well so as to be a part of the spectating creeple of this tournament's finals. This line of thinking had her preoccupied with her thoughts for some moments. She did note to herself now though that how Danirate has been interacting with her lately was a bit different from what she has become accustomed to since initially beginning to get to know him. She went on to wonder why this is what she was making an observation of with regards to recent interactions with him. Could he be keeping to himself about a new project of some kind? Well, if that was the case, she wanted to ask him about the possibility at the next opportunity to do so. And thus, Alpinely resolved to investigate what Danirate could be up to when she saw him next before turning her attention back to the current events. Well, she did add at this point before really derailing her thoughts on these matters that he did teach her (with her great insistence that she may or may not be remembering right now) how to play this TCG, so she could not firmly grasp in her mind why he had endeavored and succeeded to put his foot down and end up really not attending this chance to be audience to players who have reached tournament finals of a game he taught her with what appeared to her to be readily comprehending and spooktacularly imparting ease.

Anyway, her head was now back in the spooktacular here and now. And, Alpinely was quick to regain her energetic state after making the full shift in gears in her mind's gadgetry proceedings.

This way and that way her head turned in looking at her surroundings, seeing again as well as new additions she noted of the various sights around her. A growl registered in her mind and her gaze followed the cue to locate the growl's source. And then, she waved a flailingly bright greeting with both hands.

And in continuing this more detailed present watch of the spectators' area, Alpinely saw Uru and he was with someone beside him next. And she waved that same wave in greeting to them both, too.

Yes, she was seemingly made of crazy energy.

The wonders never cease do they? While the card game was a nice distraction and cover for Matt and Kyle to mingle with the Halloween populace in their golems, who would have thought that Matt would ace his games in the round 1 and 2 qualifiers as well as the semi-finals to land himself a spot in the finals?

Peering down at the centre stage from atop the blimp that was being supported by the thousands of battling minipets, Kyle could hardly contain his own excitement as he tried to locate Matt and his assigned opponent. "Gooooo Maaattttt!" He cheered the moment the spotlight was focused on them both.

This was so exciting. Regardless of how this turned out, this day was definitely one that he wouldn't be forgetting any time soon even after they returned to Deus. It might be mean on his part but he couldn't help feeling amused whenever he thought back on Matt's initial reaction upon finding himself in a female golem by accident. Talk about a body switching incident with someone of the opposite gender minus the awkwardness during the aftermath of it.

Poor Matt wasn't amused of course. On the contrary, he couldn't wait to head back to Deus and get out of the golem as soon as possible though that would have to wait till the finals of the card tournament was over and done with.

===============

And just like that, the finals of the card tournament was over and the names of the winners were announced one after another as soon as the scores were tallied. Kyle could hardly believe his ears when he thought that he heard Matt's name, the fact only truly sinking in when his name was flashed across the screen.

Oh. My. God. He actually made it! He really went on to win the competition!

Kyle was ecstatic, jumping excitedly up and down as he cheered at the top of his voice. This was indeed the best day ever!

Seeing all the hype, Bartholomew Blackhorn was a tad bit upset that he hadn't participated in the trading card game himself. The whole thing appeared to be rather extravagant. Unfortunately, though, he had been rather busy with some family business and between staying on top of his homework, keeping a social life, and just dealing with life, Bart had not had the time for my by way of extracurriculars. It was rather nice, though, that even from school he was able to keep his finger on the pulse of the family business and even help out from time to time.

Bart settled into his seat and looked around, a bit sad to see that no one he knew well was spectating also. He was rather certain though, that most of his friends were participating in the event itself. Still, he settled down and waited for the tournament to begin. His eyebrow rose as the announcement told them all to hang on to their clothes. Weary that one of his beloved suits might get ruined, Bart did as he was told. As soon as the wind kicked up, Bart was glad that his tie was clipped down. It would have been rather embarrassing if it would have flown up and smacked him in the face.

As soon as the platform was open though, all the wind was very obviously understandable. They were on top of a blimp! Bart was rather impressed! If it was this high class of an event, he should have most definitely participated! He regretted his decision, but there was no way to go back and fix it. So, he simply settled for watching the others duel.

Unlike most others, he did not tell or shout. At most he occasionally gave a few 'whoop's. Bart was still definitely going to enjoy himself, but more so by strategically analyzing the duels rather than cheering for them like most others. It was definitely an interesting event! He considered socializing a bit since he didn't know most of the creeple there. The thought was brief though, and he decided it was best to just watch, everyone else was seemingly rather rowdy anyway.

Sy had a seat too far away from the front row seats. although the blimp was massive and a big deal, he could not help but slump lower into his chair as he watched the finals on the projectors. The players, he could not even figure out who is who from where he was sitting. He only wished it could have been him being there in the last few rounds. too bad that he was still new at the TCG game. His deck of cards was a bit crap to begin with and it was only just a little too late to have a good idea how the game should be played and what cards to bring in a deck when he was out of the running. He really wanted to win, if not, be in the top three. He figured he could use the spending money to buy himself some new clothes. Not patched up ones that looked like hand me downs all worn down… The hunter just sat there watching the remaining players battle their way to victory. Right now, all Sy could do was observe how others play and take note on some good strategies that was at work. Since he was never the one to open up to people that quickly, he just gave a nod whenever he met eyes with other players that had also lost their chance at winning sit in the arena. There was a lot of cheering but he really did not know anyone or know who to cheer for. But from the sounds of it, he didn't have to do much but wave an arm in the air once in a while since the others were already cheering and supporting their favourite players.

Silently by himself, he sat there and hoped that they will bring this TCG tournament back again in the future.
