BEAST BATTLE FAQ

Do you add the stat bonus to the roll or to the base stat when taming?
When taming, you add your stat boost to your base stat, so it lowers the required roll (not adding it to the roll itself). So if your attack is 24, you add the +4 to make it 28, and then calculate your roll using that.
Do more beasts in one battle mean more reqs?
Each 250 required words counts as one beast battle. Also note that extra words per beast does not mean extra reqs.
Can I make threads like this where I roll for more than one set of battles within a thread?
Yes, you can still set up threads like this, but only if they are very easy to read on staff's end and the set of rolls are still only up to three beasts per attempt. You will not be able to delete threads though, so only roll for what you can complete!
Can beasts be fought outside of their normal areas?
No. The beast battling system only works within the area the beast is located. So a Jauhar beast cannot appear in Sauti as an example.

How does beast taming with two people work?
I've added a little bit of info into the beast taming post about this, but one or both members can attempt to tame the beast they fought, but they have to roll individually. They will not get a bonus for taming with a friend, and the rolls for an individual must meet the goal to be suitable. (you can't use one roll from one person and one from another).
How do req points distribute with two people?
If both characters fight and write their word count, they'll get a req point (per animal). Taming counts as part of the battle, so there is no extra req for trying to tame an animal. Actually getting the familiar is the reward for that, and you will receive exp even if you don't manage to tame. Only the person who rolls the winning roll will receive the familiar (but they can gift the familiar to whomever they want).
Can beast battles be used as RP req points when done with others?
No, unfortunately beast battles cannot be swapped for RP req points. The only swap that can be made is for a regular battle per the regular swap rules.

TAMING
To use the taming net do you need three battles or three taming attempts?
Three unsuccessful taming attempts with the same animal.
If a character tames an animal and gives it away, does it take up the other character's slot also?
No. The character that tames the animal is the one that uses up a slot. The slots are just how many you can tame, anyone can own as many familiars as they like.
