Yesterday, they all received phone calls from their superiors about taking on the vigilante searches. It had been on hiatus ever since the original team was rendered defective by the recent scandal. Who would’ve guessed that they were being sabotaged the whole time, and by someone he once respected, too? It had everyone on edge since the incident involving the prison transports just a few days ago. He used to make jokes about corruption, but they weren’t funny as of recent, and he couldn’t blame anyone.

After taking a few a turns in the hallway, he located the room where he and his newly-assigned team would be meeting to discuss the vigilantes whom needed to be brought to justice. He already took the liberty of sorting through documents—a process which took a few hours—to gather any data from the previous investigations that were confirmed to be legitimate. He personally didn’t believe that the previous team was guilty, but safety measures were expected. It was all organized in some folders he stored in his binder.

When he peered inside, he realized it was empty; he was the first to arrive. As soon as he closed the door behind him, he selected a chair from the oval table, set his briefcase, and walked over to the nearby Keurig for Italian Roast. It was quiet for the most part, and he habitually gazed at his wristwatch rather than the clock to check the time; he was five minutes early.

Tony was arriving to work in his normal too preky about everything demeanor sure they had a huge thing as of late of a few rotten agents but they where gone and he was on a new team with some other agents. One of them, Agent Reed, Tony had come to know well the guy was fun and hey they got the job done too. Like the little spanish girl in those old taco shell commercials wanted. Thay can have both. He arrived in the room carring a coffee in one hand a folder in the other and a croissant in his mouth. "ellwo" he greeted with a full mouth. He set the folder down and was able to take the baked good from his mouth. It looked like he had been the second to arive, he contemated seeing how well these chairs spun.

One task after another, but that was how his life usually played out. He was not the only person there that worked with Forensics, but more often then not, he was usually out with the others on various cases riddled around the large city of Chicago. That was what he was called about in terms of operating with another team of SIA. Fortunately, he could wrap up one case and that kept his mind at bay about other situations, his hand slightly shaking. Maybe it had him still shaken up about the past few days. Either that or it was just the complete and total lack of caffeine that made him slightly anxious, but he was fortunate to have a chilled coffee waiting on him inside of his personal fridge. He took it and left his own office, arriving behind a very busy body by the name of Tony. He had worked with the male before, briefly, in terms of a case that instantly went cold from a certain traitor in their organization now forever locked away.

"Hey," he simply said, loudly, though clearly a bit nervous. Not everyone gave him the same look anymore after that incident, so most of his confidence was slightly down the drain at the moment.

“Longing, rusted, furnace, daybreak, seventeen, benign, nine, homecoming, one, freight car,” said Janey, sifting through the list of words on her crossword puzzle. It seemed she was done, and her wristwatch beeped shortly thereafter to remind her she needed to go. After closing the puzzle book, she got out and made her way into the building, waving at all the people she had gotten close to and then eventually arriving at the room to meet with her fellow agents.

“Evening, Tony, David, Azijn,” she greeted, closing the door behind her, grabbing the nearest chair and turning it to face the table. It was a bit depressing she couldn’t focus solely on Dwight Goodwin’s case, but her sources had been quiet recently, so she needed to contribute a different way. In this case, catching some super-vigilantes. Ready to work, she gazed over at Agent Reed. “Do you want to start us off, or should I?”

As soon as Tony arrived, he didn’t hesitate to walk forward and give the man a proper handshake with his right hand and a pat on the shoulder with his left. “You’re just the man I wanted to see! We’ll be needing you for this especially. It’s a pleasure to work with you again.” Probably some of the best news he received was having the fellow around. The agent was no novice in the line of work, and with confronting supers, he was easily one of the SIA’s most valued members. “Azijn, Janey,” he acknowledged, gesturing towards the table.

Like he anticipated, Janey started them off on the right track. “I’ve got it,” he answered, pulling two folders out and onto the table. “I went ahead and sorted the information. I’ve only confirmed this much, but I’m still sorting out the rest. In the meantime, I figured we could look at these.” After he opened a folder, there were photos of gruesome murders, all done by hand, with webbing located at the site. When the bodies were examined—provided they could even identify some of the bodies—they had criminal records: murderers, rapists, drug dealers, gangsters. It seemed there were traces of identical lethal poisons in many of them, too, though the killer finished them long before the poison ever did. While some were casually battered to death, plenty had their limbs torn off and even signs of being brutally bashed against walls. It was hard to say whether it was a crime of passion, because the killer seemed to really want the people dead.

“We have no pictures of the guy, but local law enforcers who’ve encountered him claim he’s been fighting around in some black and white costume, and calls himself a silk spider or something, but this spider guy’s no joke; all the evidence paints him responsible for these deaths, and he’s been doing this for a few years now. It’s more than an oversight on our part, and since he was brushed off as a vigilante, he hasn’t received as much focus to be captured.” He looked back at the pictures, then to his companions, as if to remind them just how serious it was. In fact, the vigilante killed more people over the course. “And this isn’t even the worst of it,” he said, turning to the lady of their group to say her bit.

Tony shook Reed's hand once a hand was free. "Always a man of the our any hour. He said with his usual joking reply. Janey and Azijn arrived and took thier seat with Tony greeting as chipper. Even he kinda felt bad for Azijn, the guy was taking it prety hard. Tony was careful not to engage in any stares of obvious over noticing of him. He my be silly but he was at least respectful.

Time for the case. They were seeking a Spiderman wannabe but of a more deadly variety. "Woo someone has anger issues." He said taking his turn looking at the notes and photos. Prehaps this guy had a reason to be so brutal? Mabye he had experinced crime close to home? If he had been raised in it he likely not be trying to be heroic. But they would need much more than gruesome photo evidence to draw motive. Reed handed off to Janey who apparently knew the worst part. Tony looked at her interested in what she would have to say.

As her fellow agent spoke, she nodded along up until it was her turn to speak. “He’s actually been less of a problem as of recent. We’re not entirely sure why, but his recent companion appeared shortly before the killings came to a stop. I’m guessing she’s just diffused his temper. He’s still accountable for the homicides, but the bigger problem on our hand is a female vigilante whose supposedly been preying on anyone with a criminal record. When we asked one of the traumatized victims what they knew of her, he kept repeating the word agony, and given how he failed his vocabulary tests, odds are that's what we’ll call her for the time being.” While there were more, these two were the most apparent as of recent, and they had something in common: a certain loop in the city that served as the site for their vigilantism.

It would take her a minute, but she pulled the screen down behind her and turned on the projector to display a map of the city with the locations of kills marked down. “It’s all here in our central business district: burglary, larceny, theft, motor vehicle theft, arson, shoplifting, vandalism. It’s just the place to go hunting for petty crooks, and frankly, they get there long before the cops do.” While she wasn’t so much against the idea of less criminals in the streets, there was a certain right to due process that was violated each time some vigilante decided to paint the streets in their blood. “If we can catch at least one of them, we’ll have done our jobs. Of course, how we go about this is in our hands. If you have any ideas, now’s the time,” she said.

He nodded when Reed acknowledged and shook Janey's hand when the situation had come for it. Of course, he was already familiar with Tony given their failed attempt at tracking down a killer before. The trail had gone cold and this religious nutjob was still up in the air who knew where, but this one seemed to be a bit more concrete, something evidence could not properly hide. He began looking through the files, his mind mentally looking past some of the gruesome deaths. He's seen much worse in this career, so his weak stomach had become strong through the years. That being said, he pulled out a small notebook, jotting down a few details with his pen.

"Gee, anger is right, but I doubt I have a Ph.D in Psychology to try to psychoanalyze his motives. In short, you're right in that he gets there before the police can arrive. If he's like this spider he sets himself up to be, chances are he's set up a web and his prey unknowingly pulls on it."

He made his way over to one of the large boards, pulling the large map down of the city with the string it was attached to. He reached into his coat pocket for a red marker -he never left his office without one-, marking down each location of the victims. He stopped when he was certain he had every detail,
leaving a huge space in the center of their deaths. One problem was solved.
The next was now properly triangulating just where the likeliness these figures usually roosted at. Not a problem at all. The X's marked their deaths,
the Lines linked the location and the large Circle he marked gave a possible accurate location of where their perpetrators liked to roost.

"The center of it all is usually the obvious, though I'm sure most probably already knew that," he explained. "Going in so harshly would be a bit unwarranted, but maybe a small group with the grace to call for a strike should suffice. No need to harm innocents or cause them to get spooked after all. Question is how soon should we go?"

“Well, judging from the reports, we can expect both will be active tomorrow night. It shouldn’t be too hard to make a few phone calls for our vigilante hunt; get a team together and set up at the district.” Usually, their agency didn’t have the pleasure to prepare perfectly well; most issues with supers were often sudden, and the sort of trouble that came with figuring out how to take down a super—whose abilities they may or may not have known for certain—was chaotic. However, this time, they had an opportunity to prepare properly, so it was best not to rush anything. “We’re going to need to be a little clever here. We’ve got the spiders and then this other woman. We don’t even know if she’s a super for sure, but she’s stumped the police, so I’m not sure where to begin with taking her down. I’m a little more worried about the spider. He’s not alone, for one, not anymore, and his handiwork suggests he has a degree of superhuman physical attributes, not to mention the webbing we’ve found. Apparently, he’s skilled in acrobatics, and the police haven’t been able to land a single shot on him. We can only assume the same for his partner.”

Tony examined the information they had taking in the information that was being told. "Well I doubt a bug bomb going to fix this. But if we're making a team to go in I can likely level the playing feild. But I feel like we're going to have to bait and trap them. Surprise them so they dont scurry away. " Tony said once they decided the plan of action. His perticular power got him placed on the raid teams alot. Pretty much to the point that he usully just volenteered. It looked better to be proactive expecilly when he knew he would get those lovely orders on his desk.

It must have been nice being capable of either temporarily stealing powers or disabling them altogether. “Well, the way I see it, one trap could involve getting them to rescue you. It wouldn’t have worked a while back when he was killing people left and right, but since the spider guy has calmed down on that, it may just be the easiest way to capture him and his partner. We just need two volunteers—preferably two or more bulky-looking men—to try and mug you once we realize they’re nearby.” It was just one way to go about it; she would have happily tried something else if someone had a better idea. However, if they followed through with hers, it could have been as simple as having lookouts and timing the fake mugging correctly to draw the vigilantes in. If their powers were disabled right then, a stun gun would have sufficed to take them out, hopefully.
