Queen would find herself in the market place, She spent the previous night at the hot springs, and when she got home her wife got upset a bit that she didn't invite her, so today she went shopping with her, as of the current moment they were separated, mainly so they can get everything they needed faster. Currently she was in front of a meat vender looking at all the meat that was available, she was mainly looking at the prices and the weight for each one, she was curious what they could use for dinners and even her snacks for adventures "hmmmm...If i get the turkey..we can last for a week...and There wont be anything extra for me to take on adventures...but if i get the Ham it would cost more but i will have enough for a few days in a dungeon" she muttered sighing she never knew what choice to make as she sucked at figuring out the money problem, they had a budget but there were days things were cheaper, she was curious when those would be, but clearly not today. "Um....Yea, I think I'll get the Ham this time" she said giving the man coins before putting it in a bag she had. she would then begin to roam around until she would find a place selling bread.

The Archmage could be seen walking through the marketplace. The crowds seemed to part around him as he walked. His wings were tucked and he stood at his normal six foot four. His plumage black as pitch and shimmery in the sunlight coated his form from his waist down. It seemed to periodically rise and fall depending on the mans mood, now was a bit of neutral section it being a nice middle ground for it. He looked about before seeing a pair of ears sticking out in the crowd. The mage smiled softly before walking over and bumping into Queen as if to allow their meeting to be serendipitous.

"Hello Queen, buying some meat I see? You should try the bacon...." He said as the butcher reached down and pulled out a wrapped pound Surtr smirked before taking it and nodding to the man. The butcher seemed to nod in return as if allow their unspoken agreement to be sealed. "So doing some shopping, you should round out that diet of yours. Balance is key when raiding dungeons." He said with a smirk glancing to her as a singular snowflake floated down before plopping itself upon Surtrs nose. He smirked as he watched it melt allowing the subsequent water to evaporate in a moment as well. Seemed the momentary lapse in inclement weather was fleeting.

Not far from both of her parents sight was a young white hair fox girl named Snow. She had come to the market with both of her parents since she obviously could not be at home all alone. The young girl was looking at a rather large and recently killed duck that one of the stalls were selling. The girl's mouth would drool a bit as she imagined how good it would taste once cooked. She would, however, turn her attention away from the stall to look back towards her parents who were underway with their shopping. She would skip her way back to Queen and tug on her hand. Mommy mommy.. I found a big duck!

As Queen mentioned their encounter again Surtr nodded. "Well it's a rather small town." He said defending the point that this was certainly just an accident. He hadn't really meant to stop here but seeing her and remembering he had to pick up the food made him decide now was as good a time as any. He sighed as she heard her mention the family noting that she was rather skimp on things. As she mentioned her wife being her Surtr perked up a bit. "Oh? I've got to meet this woman of legend." Surtr said looking about. Though it was more of just a gesture to add humor to the comment, he was sure he wouldn't be able to pick her out of a crowd especially with her being a mage.

She seemed to mention she couldn't afford the bacon and Surtr rolled his eyes before setting it in her basket. "No you can try it." He said plainly before shaking his head softly. "No I was looking for food for my dau..." His words caught in his throat as a porcelain fox with silvery hair suddenly tugged upon Queens hand and called her mommy. Surtr's eyes widened a bit as a most mischievous smile crept across his lips. "Your wife specialized in potions you say...." Surtr said with a playful smirk before kneeling down so that he could get a good look at the kit (fox pup). "Hello little one... what is your name?" He inquired softly looking to her with his lavender eyes wondering if she would be afraid of him. If she was he wouldn't blame her many of the grown people here were frightened by the archmage so a mere child would be understandable.

Then another newcomer arrived, though Surtr recognized her. He never really cared for such things like paintings but the other professors had pestered him to see "the most beautiful mage in all of Karst" so he finally caved just to shut them up. His gaze shifted to Queen with yet another devious smile and a shake of his head. "My my...." He whispered to Queen before before giving her knee a slight nudge, the gesture was unmistakable clearly he was saying "nice f**king job" by locking down someone of that stature. Surtr would typically rise to say hello properly but right now he was too focused on the child that stood before him.

Snow would shake her head as her mommy used her hands to determine the size of the large duck she had seen. Being as small as she was the girl was not all great on sizing things so she stretched both arms as far as she could. No it was this big!! She stated. In her eyes, it was a very large one but to others, it would be been average. Her eyes went to Surtr who knelt down before her and ask for her name. The pup would reply with. Snow She would give the large male a smile before her attention went to her other mother.

She would smile up at Misty before taking the apple to nibble on. I is good mommy She replied, before nibbling on the tasty apple she was given. She would forget about everything else and focused on the apple.

When queen mentioned the size Surtr nodded. "Also easy to protect." Surtr said adding in the main reason for its size. Surtr had designed it intentionally in this way. He place the city along this jagged string of mountains constantly battered by winds in blizzards so that any potential assault would make it so attackers would have everything against them. Surtr had made his little home nigh impregnable and anytime someone would complain of Karst or speak of its merits he would remind them of the true reason. It was designed this way for their own protection.

When she questioned the bacon Surtr nodded softly. "Compensation for you accompanying me to this dungeon." He said without hesitation. It would come out perfectly as if the line was natural and flowed smoothly. Though in truth Surtr just didn't like the idea of her not having the means to afford such a delicious thing, he couldn't in good conscious allow her to be deprived of that sweet sweet delicacy. When Queen seemed to be ignorant of his intention he chuckled. "It isn't important...." He said pushing the question off the table for now. It wasn't a big deal he could press such issues later.

The kit before him gave just a single word with a big smile. "My what a lovely name, and so appropriate." He said softly looking upon her. Snowy hair and a complexion to match she was a irresistibly cute child one Surtr would gladly play with given the opportunity. Her bright large smile only caused his own to mimic, as if some odd force compelled him. As she focused on the apple she was given he chuckled softly before rising to see address the final newcomer.

As she addressed him Surtr frowned a bit, a momentary break in his playful disposition. "Surtr will suffice, formalities really aren't needed." He said gently batting his hand as if to brush such things away. He did not like being called archmage or excellence or any derivations of those preferring just his name so that he could be inherently taken as an equal. As she made her quip Surtr smirked enjoying the way she worded such things. "To the contrary, my job is to ensure the protection and progression of magic. Exploring is paramount for both of those." Surtr said with a playful smile happily countering that tease. "As for the paintings, well it seemed every professor in the college wouldn't rest until I saw one insisting I didn't know true art until I had." Surtr said combatting the second part of the statement. In truth he would have likely remained ignorant to that if possible. Though he was nagged constantly by his colleagues and daughter so finally he accepted so that the ceaseless claims would come to an end.

She asked about the weather and a light amount of snow began to fall. The sky still seemed clear but little flurries were dancing in the small gust of wind. For Karst it was still a magnificent day and the little bits of snow only served to add some flavor. "I am, and yourself? I heard from your wife potions is your game, quite a rare discipline to specialize in. If your current "work" isn't too time consuming there is a rather pivotal position that I need filled." Surtr said softly putting emphasis on the word work to return the tease she had given him earlier. He was a very playful man as she'd remember and if she didn't wish to unleash it she shouldn't have opened the box.

Surtr wondered if she'd be interested, it was a rather vague statement but if her wit was as sharp as her looks he'd have no doubt she'd be able to discern the position was no joke. Surtr had something he had been working on and he needed someone who appreciated it to lead the project. A person specializing in potions was just the person for such a role. A very serendipitous day it was.

Snow gave the three a toothy smile before nibbling on her apple. She loved getting compliments from others, always made her smile and seem very special. She knew she was special but loved hearing others agree on it. The little pup listened as the three conversed about matters she did not understand nor really seem to care about. The girl's ears, however, did perk when they said mages. Mages means magic and magic means pretty. The little pup loved magic of any kind. Mage.. me wanna see the cool magic! She cheered the words in the hope someone would perform pretty magic.
