Here is where the festival in honor of the fae who saved all our kind is celebrated. In the Morning the path to the festivies is lines with flowers of varying pink, purple, and blue colors known to be associated with the fae, at night with beautiful fae shaped lights in varying pink, purple, and blue colors known to be associated with the fae. On both sides of the park are various treas and drinks all fea themed, as well as games and shops also fea themed, At the back on the park is a place for story telling where people of all kinds come and tell us what they think they know about that time and about faes, is it true? Well Who knows really,

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

In the back of the grand park was the story telling, all races, all ages, all walks of people had gathers to regale others with their version of the Fae. Off to the left of the stage laying in the grass was a man, with a small little flame resting atop his chest. Most would just think him a mage but those who were wise enough would see it as the mage king. The newly risen and elected Monarch of Karst. A man of great ambition and power. Though for some reason he was not in the festivities he was off by himself. This part of the park was quiet and mostly contained children an elderly which only made the mans position more out of place.

This was where Surtr was always found, whenever they held this festival he would come lay in the grass watch the stars all the while listening to the tellings of those who gathered. Surtr was seen as mad when he told others he believed the Fae still existed, though in truth Surtr couldn't care less what the closed minded believed. This was one of the best ways to gather information on the Fae and one of the least inconspicuous ways to do it. He got to enjoy the n** of the night air, the company of Saga and the beautiful stories of the people of this world. All races, all ages, all coming together to share in the greatest wonder they had all ever seen. Surtr intended to pull this creature from myth but with such a powerful elusive being set backs were imminent. Surtr would persevere he would not be deterred by such a small thing. He had arguably devoted 3000 years to finding this creature and he'd easily double it in order to prove the truth behind these fairy tales.

Having only met Surtr once and that being at the dinner, Azela wanted to spend more time with him. The young Queen had gotten a lot bigger since the last time he had saw her. She was waddling a small bit, but was still able to get around of her own free will. Having her shadow, E'Vynaei following her for protection because Xavier was doing what Xavier did. She made her way away from the hustle and bustle of the Ware Kingdom to the Fae Festival.

Wondering around the park in search of the mage king, it took her a moment until she was at the back of the park. This is where stories and fairy tales where being told of the fae and it's existence. Azela didn't really care for stories and myths. Spotting Surtr in a grassy area relaxing, she went over and stood next him looking down. "Do you mind if I join you down there?" She smiled brightly as she kneed down next to him then sat on her bottom. "It's nice to see you again Surtr." She commented as she looked at the people gathered around listening to the current story teller.

The nature of the wild is not the nature of the beast

Fae. A creature of unknown origin who held the key to the universe. Some sought it for power, some for truth, others for hope of preserving their destiny. Alas, all races and factions chose to celebrate in discovery of what legend may hold true. On this day, the beast of men's wilderness embarked upon these lands. Among them; The expecting Queen absent of the King and...the shadow that guarded her domain.

The name Azela bore the blessing of good graces but the curse of the fools. This shadow was not a mere guard of the Queen; It was the embodiment of fear within her soul. Whatever she may doubt, suspect, or become unsettled with; the shadow of her kingdom would answer her call and heed her will; only hers. E'Vynaei was its name and while not feeling the compulsive need to delight in fashion or festivities; The panther woman could manage well even while on duty.

In a short period of walking they stumbled upon the tales of folklore regarding the legend of the Fae. And who better to accompany an audience of such a mystical tale than a Mage? Not just any mage by the amount of pure essence and appearance; But among the very high counsel of those deemed to be wizards. To be named by the Queen must have earned some prestige of some sort. Despite the bit of prejudice she held against mages akin to one she knows of; Today she chose to remain reserve and keep her words free of strife.

E'Vynaei kept her spawned sun burnt eyes observing the environment and gathering enough information about the setting of their current atmosphere. Though it appeared to be serene, jovial, and harmless; the event didn't come without shenanigans and altercations of even trivial matters. The woman would know enough of a sign when things were going to turn ugly and she'd rather keep Azela in a relatively calm state of mind.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

He was laying on the sloped hill allowing it's natural angle to give him a rather comfortable position his hands were interlaced behind his head and his little companion sat atop his chest. Just over his heart actually. The two were intently watching and listening as an old frail woman was telling of a time when she met a Fae as a child. The woman was a dragon and given her appearance she must have been incredulously old. The duo were quite entertained by the tale and so enthralled they didn't even notice the queen approach.

As her soft words broke Surtr from his concentration his eyes darted to her and a soft smile crossed his lips. "Azela..... Yes of course please have a seat." He said softly tilting his head next to her. She kneels down before rocking back to her bottom which caused a soft chuckle to slip through his lips. "I see the young pup is doing quite well. My what wondrous news." He said looking to her with a very cheerful look. Surtr loved kids and he loved the miracle of pregnancy. The ability for two things to come together and create life it was a fantastic thing one that Surtr was envious of actually. He would never experience that and a small tinge of sadness would be noted if someone was bothering to pay attention.

"What brings the were queen to such a humble section of the festivities?" He inquired softly almost in a whisper. The trio were far enough away that their conversation wouldn't interrupt the story. The woman was just saying how she fell into a raging river and the Fae was what pulled her out. Surtr had unfortunately heard the tale before so he was happy to get to know Azela in the mean time.

His fiery eyes would glance up to spot the dark sun kissed skin of a were standing by the now seated queen. His eyes would scrupulously scan her for a few moments while the little ball of fire atop Surtrs chest watched Azela. "Hmmm, seems all weres are cursed with beauty." He said softly with a rather playful tone as he shifted his focus to the queen. "Why not ask her to sit? I used to be a royal guard myself, such dreadful work. Though I imagine your company is far superior to the king and lords I served." Surtr said with a softy smile having already formulated a rough outline of the woman. She seemed stoic and reserved. Intent on remaining a sentry, reminiscent of Androk really. Going off that Surtr would surmise that an offering he gave would fall on deaf ears. He believed she only really listened to one leader here and it was the Queen.

The stars would continue their dance and the cool n** of the night air would be felt with the soft breezes that swept by. Laughter and shouting heard in the distance as the group was gathered around a more lax part of the festival. "If you get cold you're welcome to my jacket...." Surtr said as his eyes looked to both women in his company. Though in actuality he knew there was only a chance for one to accept. Surtr would carry the feint smell of ash a rather obvious trait given the small orb of fire that rested atop his extended form. The king was in a very good mood this evening. With talk of the Fae and the company of two beautiful women it was setting up to be quite the night.

Azela glowed as Surtr spoke of the growing child inside of her. "It is amazing to have life." She spoke softly. When the mage king, asked of what brought her heard, the young queen smiled. "I wish to acquire more information about the best friend of my mate. Plus I grew tried of being cooped up in the palace. So this is my day out." Azela was not interested in the tales of the fae. Her own race had it's own myths and legends she heard growing up. She had come with the sole purpose of getting to know Surtr.

Azela chuckled as Surtr seemed to be adoring E'Vynaei. "E'Vynaei is a very professional and reserved. She wishes to not interfere to inter-mingles with royals. She likes to stay in the background. That is why I call her my shadow She is out of sight, but I know she is there. I also love her warrior spirit." Looking back at E'Vynaei, her eyes soften. "Please sit my dear. I am sure nothing will happen to me. Surtr seems to be more calm and gentle than Xavier." Azela was sure that if anything was to happen Surtr would indeed protect her for she was carrying his friends child. Or at least she hoped.

As the sun sat. the cold of the night nipped at the young queen. Not being able to shift do to expecting, she was start to rub her arms. Not wanting to take away from Surtr's warmth, she took down her braid. Repositioning her headband so no hair was in her face, she used her hair as a shield from the cold of the night. She laid back on the hill and stared up at the stars.

The nature of the wild is not the nature of the beast

If only they could be so grossly incandescent was the impression of this grand wizard. He was definitely saturated. Not just solely of magic, but of charm and spirit. The way he spoke, precisely his casual wording and splendor tone, carried itself in a promiscuous manner. If not for the ancient dragon kin telling the tale of the Fae; Who knows what little mind tricks he could pull? E'Vynaei was curious enough to know that this mage was also related to the very one who claimed their kingdom. The panther snarled a bit and pretended to listen closely to the rest of the tale without getting too sidetracked by their conversation.

The telling of the Faerie's blessings upon the land was told in a brief sense that explained the evolution of magic and harnessing of new habitats yet to be explored. Maybe it presented the chance to learn more about these said lands and undiscovered wonders of the world. But E'Vynaei shrugged as she didn't have any reliable partners nor anyone willing to prepare her for the journey. She also had yet to show the latent potential of her own power not just as a guard of the kingdom, but an individual among the dangerous wild.

And now he's taking a fancy to her eh? E'vynaei ignored most of his words and again, remained observant mostly to the story. Should she take that as a compliment or an insult? Whatever she mumbled and kept attentive. The Queen may be fond of such company; The guard chose to place duty over mingling. Even if she were off duty by any chance; the woman didn't see it fit for either of them to know each other outside of business. "If you get cold you're welcome to my jacket"...Oh boy. The panther blinked a few times in a shock manner though kept to herself as she could only imagine it as a very sly way of flirting with Azela. IF the Queen did require anything; E'Vynaei would be very welcomed to seek cover or even create some warmth for her manually.

Rhetoric. It was amazing to have life; but perhaps this new life she bore inside was meant to be more than she was. Maybe. It was great for E'Vynaei to join the Queen on her day out as much as it was to know this Surtr character. How fitting of the Queen to describe her accordingly and it was, without word, accurate. Her ears did twitch a hair with the name of "Xavier" when being compared, but there was more to be truly seen with this mage. As offered and requested; E'Vynaei lowered down to the ground and took her seat. Odd. The Queen was getting comfortable around this other guy and E'Vynaei herself hasn't even established a proper analysis of his character. Though she'd agree to depart from the world of "politics" such as these; the woman felt uneasy about this scene.

Perhaps if she waited on a cue to focus more on the tales of the faerie; Then she'd be able to get more interested in it. It was hard enough to not gossip about this; though she'd like to keep things confidential. The woman sat posed up with a leg knelled up and her elbows supporting her position up. Surtr, as she called him, appeared to be genuine, but she would always remain neutral, especially of the race closest to mankind and of its motives.

As she spoked to her motives Surtr chuckled softly. "Very well, I'll answer one question for each you answer. You may go first of course" Surtr said with a smirk his eyes still on the story telling while his little fiery orb watched the duo sitting next to him. Chivalry was not dead, at least not yet. Surtr would happily allow her a glimpse of him if she so wished. He would contest he was far more complex than Xavier. Though honestly that was likely why Surtr was the one without a queen. The thought caused the man to smile softly enjoying the irony in the situation. "In addition if you ever wish to escape that little palace I would happily take you on an adventure. The were queen and E'Vynaei her shadow would be quite a force to reckon with I imagine." Surtr said glancing to the duo. He would address her by name, finding it a bit disrespectful to merely refer to her as a shadow. Especially with him being an outsider to their relationship.

As she spoke about E'Vynaei Surtr nodded before sitting up. "Hmmm, one who prefers to observe rather than speak? I imagine she is quite lethal." Surtr said softly complimenting the woman. It wasn't common to meet someone like that. Surtr himself was capable of such behavior but he enjoyed the quick pace of interaction so often time he would abstain from such things. Though he would note this characteristic being sure to keep a rather close eye on this one. Azela rubbed her arms and seemed to implicitly decline his offer though Surtr in a smooth motion would remove his coat draping it over her. "If I let you catch cold that tail of your husbands would likely come out." Surtr said softly before grimacing. It was quite apparent he hated that thing and he made no effort to hide it.

After giving her his coat he would lay back down against the hillside. He rolled up his sleeves before returning his hands behind his head. Those perceptive enough would note a myriad of scars running up his forearms and into his sleeves before they were obscured by Surtrs form. A small huff blew any extraneous strands of blond hair from his eyes allowing him a clear view of the next tale.

The guard sat down maintaining a rather rigid but dutiful stand next to her queen. Surtr smirked to himself at this, having been in the position she was it seemed she was far more suited for the role than he. She was vigilant and watchful Surtr relied on his own ability to make up for lacking in those areas. Though he never lacked in perception he never really cared for playing the part. It seemed this woman enjoyed it or at least was skilled at masking any distaste. "So E'Vynaei, what do you think of your new king?" He inquired a playful gaze wandering her way. It was obvious he was being a bit teasing perhaps a rather cruel statement when she was unlike to have the freedom to express her true opinion but Surtr was a rather playful man and he could not help himself.

Azela looked over at Surtr. "I am not a woman of 20 questions. I just wish to talk." A sparkle came into Azela eyes as he said he'd take her on one of him and Xavier's infamous adventures. "I am one for sure that loves to explore and venture out. I would be honored." Azela was a free spirit that was tied down to the throne. She enjoyed serving her people, but that made her free time short to almost non-existence. The young queen chuckled for she herself was indeed a force to be reckon with. A woman that lives by the sword, but knew that peace was the only way to exist.

Azela nodded as Surtr spoke of E'Vynaei. "That is ever much her style. Lethal indeed. Ask Xavier about her the next time you two meet up." Azela replays that little scene in her head every once in a while and thought of how Xavier was about to be malted. She doesn't tease him about it, but it definitely funny now unlike it was then. As her internal laugher died down, she found herself being covered by Surtr's coat. Looking over at him, she gave a small smile. "Thank you." She pulled the coat around her tighter trying to absorb all it warmth. "Yes I understand your dilemma for I am not used to just a giant scorpion at all." She chuckled at seeing Surtr's clear discomfort with the creature.

Stilling getting lost in the stars, Azela turned on her senses. To hear the night creatures, and get lost n her own world of nature. She didn't even know that Surtr had asked E'Vynaei a question for she was far gone by then.

The nature of the wild is not the nature of the beast

Wasn't this how trouble started? Someone comes up with a fantastic idea to rescue girls from a castle and try to take on the world full of big adventures of a lifetime. Chivalrous as it may seem; Surtr was too warm a man. He sought comfort by affection and expressed himself in a way that caters to softness in a refinement of his own persona. E'Vynaei knew without a doubt that mages harbored powerful magics and mastery over the span of humane fighting styles; But Surtr's specialty seemed to categorize as illusions. Illusions as in he was fantasizing how his delusions of fun times were always going to be in his favor.

The cocoa skinned panther could only imagine how Xavier would take hearing all of this. But who knows? They were probably so close they'd have a good drink to this and show off more because of it. If there was something she'd commend him on; It'd be his sense of understanding. Yes she was lethal. Yes she did observe. And he would do best to soon realize she was no fool either. The topaz eyes would slowly lurk upon the two once the Mage Royal placed his jacket across her Queen. Just faintly did her hand loosen and a bit of her natural muscle flex with a dense breeze. The signs of scarring along his arms only ensured her that he'd been involved in labor of some kind, yet nothing to make certain of. But to address her directly using her name was...unsettling. Maybe out of courtesy she'd start telling people to call her by family name and add the prefix of Miss or something.

Now she was faced with a gut wrenching, nerve breaking, question beyond what she'd been allowed to ever utter again. To address him as a King and put her in the same sentence as her was like mixing together a cure with a toxin. These words were only going to be said politely and without any bias she may possess..hopefully. "He is a man of modesty and . Forever loyal to the Queen; True to himself. Tis all...." she said facing away and rolling her eyes as she focused back on the storytelling. Obviously this was suppose to be where things got interesting. But what's the point of answering questions in her case? Was there something he could do? Could he give her a raise, a vacation, or health benefits? If only she could really say something like "I'll tell you when Mages can howl" but even that was a bad joke for her.

E'vynaei didn't know what the man sought to get out of her; But perhaps he'd already known enough. Azela knew this and despite her attempt to avoid what was said; the were panther could already tell she'd tell him anyway. As long as the Queen was at peace; The woman sought to be at peace as well.

Azela seemed to sass Surtr a surprising turn which only brought a very playful grin to his lips. A soft chuckle escape them before his eyes widened visibly caught of guard by the phrases "My My, seems there is fire in you my queen. Good I'm sure that same fire is needed to keep Xavier in line." He said his smile now softening. It seemed the more he got to know her the more he understood how she was able to separate the pair. She had broken up the longest standing pair in Karsts history and while they were only loved on another Like brothers a woman had never been able to achieve such a thing. Though Surtr was beginning to see just how it was done.

She agreed to their little outing and Surtr sat up knocking the little ball of fire down onto his lap. It would roll before glaring up at Surtr possibly frustrated with its master. "Wonderful! You tell me where and what kind of adventure you seek and we shall go." Surtr said with an exuberant smile. For a moment the talk of the Fae faded from his mind this was a rare treat and Surtr would not soon forget her words. He looked forward to being able to see just what the two could do. Getting to study weres in battle especially a queen and royal guard were not such a common thing.

She mentioned the two meeting up and talk of the scorpion as Surtr laid back down looking up at the night sky. Allowing Azelas words come through one ear and stories of the Fae through the other. "I am a practitioner of that death discipline as well. Though I'm afraid I have a far better eye for life." He said with a sigh. He was openly admitting a weak point a flaw. Surtr could not use death despite being attuned to it. Though there was a reason for such a thing he would not part with that secret so easily. "The scorpion and the tail are..... unsettling, and perhaps Xavier's tendency to use them to stir up trouble is what started this aversion." He said with a soft chuckle remembering many of the shenanigans the two pulled.

Next came the shadow she spoke concisely with each word being intentional and deliberate in nature. When she finished Surtr quickly brought a hand to his mouth as he sat up yet again this time leaning and farther forward to look to her now. His had was stifling the cacophony of laughter that wished to burst from his lips though thankfully Surtr was better at control and swallowed such thing. "Indubitably accurate..." He said in a tone that was easily seen through. Seemed she would not be divulging her opinion so willingly. A smart one too it would appear and not easily goaded? She was quite fearful a woman. He smirked as his smoldering gold eyes looked to her now as he decided to send some thoughts her way. Her mind was guarded and as such he was unable to dive into it like her normally could. Though that didn't mean he could send her a thought. "I think we both know what you meant...." The words would ring in her head for a moment as if Surtr had whispered them into her very ear. If she chose to think back her would hear and if she merely kept her mind closed he wouldn't. Still the words had been "said" and Surtr knew she would have heard them. He had noticed her arm move before, his perishable picking up on the subtle movement. She appeared to be a masterpiece the ideal guard, quick mentally and physically, alluring to distract from the queen, focused on what her goal was, and perhaps the most intimidating unwavering in her duty.

His gaze lingered upon her for a moment before he leaned back. His returning to the sky he smiled softly watching the stars. "I imagine you have a wonderful medical staff in your kingdom? I am rather gifted in the healing arts. If you ever want me to take a look at the child all you must do is ask." He said nonchalantly as if the words were of little consequence. Surtr was speaking objectively now. He believed himself to be one of the best if not the best healer in all the world and as such if he didn't offer his services Surtr would see it as an insult. In addition the child she carried was the closest thing to a nephew or niece Surtr would ever see so he made sure she knew he was at her disposal when it came to this matter.

Looking back at Surtr, Azela chuckled. He noticed her sparkle, but she would keep it concealed. She just shrugged. "It comes and goes." she said in a nonchalant manner. She was still staring off into the distance. The young looked over at Surtr as he seemed excited about their adventure to come. "Well let's just make sure I am not carrying a little one before we get carried away. When the time is right, I will without a doubt seek you out." Azela agreed that Xavier used his scorpion to cause trouble, but when wasn't he causing trouble. She wouldn't comment on it thought for her mind was wondering again.

Seeing the shadow go silent Surtr seemed a bit disappointed. He enjoyed having the juxtaposition of the two, though it mattered little he would merely focus his attention to the queen. "Hmmm, intriguing. I'm afraid what you see is what you get with me. I am not nearly as complex as yourself." He said with a smirk looking over to her now and allowing a long sigh to escape his lips. She requested their venture not begin until after she gave birth and Surtr nodded with a soft smile. "But of course my queen. I would never wish to put your child in danger." He said with a tone of sincerity before before looking upon her.

She was quite beautiful there was no denying that. Seemed like she was strong willed and kind, a rather fantastical pairing when added together. She seemed like the perfect woman for him and Surtr was pleased to learn his friend had found something so special. He laid back in the grass nodding to himself as if mentally approving of the marriage. He wasn't one to limit such things but he found that right now it was appropriate in his eyes. He would tell Xavier the next time they met that Surtr approved of Azela

Again coming back from the distance, Azela smiled softly. "I am a noble, that married into royalty. Of course I am multi-layered. I grow up as a tom-boy that my mom had to force me to wear dresses, to being put in a situation I have no choice, but to wear a gown. Trust me when I say they had a hard time getting me into a gown unless I approved of it." She chuckled remembering her days as a princess. Azela face twisted up for a second as the baby moved. She took Surtr's hand and gently placed it on her stomach so he could feel the child. It was sudden, but she was calm and it was her doing so no problem.

Azela trusted him for some reason. Nothing about him screamed uneasy or dangerous. She noticed the cute little flame as well, but kept all her thoughts about it to herself. She liked his sense of humor and how he was laid back. Azela figured she could get used to him.

Surtr chuckled softly. "A tom boy? Wonderful, girls who were climbing trees and fighting as children are better leaders than those who pretended to be the damsel." Surtr said softly with a rather entertained smile. The more he learned of her the more he approved. She was deeper than he imagined, far more than just a pretty face. "I was a rather obstreperous boy.... The women who raised me often spoke of how difficult I could be." He said sharing that he too was a rambunctious child.

As she scrunched her face and took his hand the little ball of fire turned a bright pink. Surtr felt it kick and his jaw dropped before growing into an ear to ear smile. His eyes looked to her before back down at her stomach. "Amazing..." He whispered as he scooted closer to her his hand still atop her stomach looking to her now. "May I? This will allow me to inspect the child and see its health" He asked as his free hand began to glow white. He would not touch her without her permission but he couldn't see why she would turn the offer down.

...and to the dust we shall return...
