A tawny-haired young woman in formal attire, glasses, and high heels entered the museum promptly at 6:45pm on February 14, 2017. The note she had received in the mail had mentioned when the museum would open its doors ‘for the birds that like to be early’ implying that the time was earlier than most people were expected. However, since Tress always liked to be on time and there was no other exact time indicated on the card, she decided to go ahead and be one of the early birds.
Once she was inside, the bespectacled woman immediately searched for the painting she was supposed to be meeting someone at. Tempus Fugit - ‘time flies’ in Latin. It was an intriguing choice for a painting to rendezvous at and though Tress wasn’t a very big fan of paintings, she found herself curious about what this one must have looked like. She found it relatively quickly and looked it over a few minutes as she tried to seem inconspicuous.
Tress wasn’t much of a people-person, but she hoped that this little event would maybe help her learn to be more sociable. By the information on the card, this person seemed she was supposed to be meeting seemed shy; perhaps even sensitive, which she wasn’t very good at dealing with. However, she wasn’t one to back down from a challenge and if she could keep this person from going home in tears because of her, she would consider her endeavor to have been successful. It sounded so simple in her head...so why was she feeling so nervous?
