Moving is rough and expensive, leaving 16 yr old Charlie to go try and steal the money his family need. Knowing he could get caught by a super instead of just the cops, Charlie finds a place that losing the money he needs won't hurt the business to badly and decides it worth the risk.

Charlie was all set up for this latest run. He knew it was risky but they needed to get the electricity paid and his dad's job had cut hours. Charlie teleported in and quickly stuck the magnet on the alarm system he had seen when scouting earlier. He hated this place had so many windows but it was a fancy place and they could afford to lose a few hundred without going under. He didn't want to hurt the business where he was the reason they failed. He would have to work fast the register could be seen from the window. He popped the register and quickly started counting what he would need, he figured out the cost of the electric bill with the late payment fee and only wanted to take that much, it would be more if the electricity got shut off.

It would have seemed like the perfect act of theft, were it not for the fact that he had been expected. In fact, a hand would soon find itself on his shoulder, but not to pull him aside or scream at him. Her grasp was gentle, unprovoked. “You’re better than this,” the stranger said calmly. He would turn and find she wasn’t a cop or an ordinary stranger, but she made no effort to announce herself as anything other than someone. In fact, she wasn’t even in costume, dressed in her civilian attire. If it weren’t for the fact that she was a household name, someone could almost forget she could cripple mountains and pierce the skies. It seemed planned, though really she had only managed to find him on a hunch, given his recent progress. He wasn’t some petty crook feeding his greed; she knew that.

Charlie half jumped out of his skin when he felt a hand on his shoulder and heard a voice. 'Sh*t, this is not good...' He thought when he turned to see Olympia. Of all the supers to get caught by he gets freaking Olympia! She wasn't in costume though she was dressed up normal clothes. Was she expecting him? If so then if she was doing it to try to arrest him she would have done it already and there would be cops by now. Plus she seemed to want to talk. If he were to try and teleport away she would end up coming with him. He was admittedly a loss for words mostly from the shock of surprise and the situation he was now in. "Um..uh...what do you mean?..." He managed to sputter out. This was truly an odd situation.

“If enough places are robbed, someone’s going to notice, especially when they are robbed modestly.” It was to confirm she was aware of what he was trying to do. However, despite how easy it would have been to knock him unconscious and leave him to the police, she didn’t. In her youth, she likely would have, but with age came insight, one that the world wasn’t so black and white. “There’s more to this than just money, isn’t there?” she responded, raising a brow in curiosity. Amusingly, she didn’t appear angry, and her composure suggested a willingness to listen to him. He robbed locations, but didn’t take as much as he clearly could have; she wanted to know why, and not from the speculation of a detective.

Had she been here waiting for him? She seemed to know a lot about how he worked, yet she didn't try to detain him. She could easily beat him, but she wasn't. This confused Charlie, perhaps she didn't see him as a just a crook. She confirmed this by asking if there was more to it than the stealing. Well, she seemed like she might care. Not many people did to be honest, she was a hero. They're the good guys right? "I wish I could do it another way....." He said his body language showing he was kinda sad. "...But I'm not allowed to...." If his dad would let him get a work permit he would work for the money, but they couldn't wait the two years till he was 18 to pay bills and have food. He understood his dad wanted him to good in school so he could get better than his dead-end job but that wasn't going to help them now...

“If there’s another way, we can find it together. You don’t have to steal.” She let that thought settle before gazing at the door. “Let’s talk somewhere else, before someone other than me gets the wrong idea, yeah? Are you hungry?” As much as she wanted to hear him out, the location wasn’t the wisest place to stay and chat. Regardless of his response, she headed towards the door, because there was no use sticking around, otherwise he would be in trouble with someone like an officer. Fortunately, no one had noticed her face yet, because she’d only recently gotten out of her vehicle, and had moved swiftly enough to avoid the otherwise inevitable publicity. Her car was already outside, readily parked. It was one of many, though it was more so to allow her some privacy, since driving in the same car would make it far too easy to recognize.

Well, what harm could be done hearing her out. He could still escape if things went south. If she had been tracking him she likely already knew what his power was, or at least that he had them. Heck, she may already know who he was, but he had to agree any talking should be done elsewhere. "Alright...." Charlie said sounding more unsure this time. If he could get money in a less dangerous way he would. Lawn mowing kind of jobs wasn't going to cut it, pun not intended. He put back what he had already taken out and shut the drawer. She asked if he was hungry, and thinking on it food did sound good. He had skipped dinner to plan this out. "Yeah. Food would be good..." He would follow her out but grabbed the magnet carefully. It had been used to trick the cash register alarm and now it wouldn't know it was opened at all. She seemed to have driven here which struck him as odd, didn't she fly? Perhaps she wasn't leading him on. It was a weird thing for him to trust people, he had more reasons not to trust people than to trust people. Thing was she was showing trust to him, he could have easily just teleported away making her efforts in vain but she seemed to believe when she came here that he wouldn't. Did he just need someone to understand? She was rich right? Maybe she could help out? He knew to find out he have do join her in her car so he did. He wasn't ready yet to take the mask off yet he was still a bit paranoid.

As soon as they were inside, she carefully drove in the direction of the Isley Building. “What are you hungry for?” she asked him. If they ate out at some public restaurant, she would have minimal privacy to speak, so the next best thing was to have something prepared ahead of time. She didn’t think him the type to complain greatly, but she was still considerate of what he preferred to eat. Food was a nice medium where they could ease up. She didn’t bring up the would-be robbery for the time being, since there was time to relax.

Charlie was a bit suprised she was asking what he wanted to eat. He was admittedly unsure how to take this kindness to be honest. "I'm not too picky, though I like spicy food...." He awnsered timidly. Speaking of heat, he was admittedly getting warm with his mask on. He debated if he needed it now. She had found him and didn't arrest him. Even if he where to poof away she could likely just find him again and that time would be less friendly. It was already quite possible she knew who he was. Mabye she did have helping him in mind. Oh what the hell, he didn't have much to lose at this point other than the heat that was building on his face. He knocked the hood back and took the googles off. He pushed the part covering his lower face down by his neck. If she didn't know who he was she would at least know he was some hispanic kid now. He was still unsure so he more looked out the window to see if he could get a heads up on where they where going. That and he felt eye contact at the moment may be a bit awkward.

As he unveiled his face, she made no commotion, merely appreciating his honesty. While she wasn’t one to shy away from eye contact, she was driving. He expressed an interest in spicy food, so she ordered some for him, briefly asking him as she ordered on what would interest him. When the order was made, she merely continued her drive towards the building. It took slightly longer than her usual route, but that was because she didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable if they passed a police station.

When they arrived, she casually parked her vehicle and led him through the front doors, where they were immediately greeted by the receptionist, a woman who didn’t seem to question his presence at all. It was likely because she regularly witnessed heroes walking through the doors, especially now that they were in a league of their own. It wasn’t long before they were seated at an oval table, the food he requested set before him, while she sat opposite of him. Her side consisted only of lemonade, but that was because she intended to just make dinner at home for herself and her daughter.

She had asked when ordering if he had any preference. "Haven't had curry in ages..." He replied. She didn't drive by anywhere that raised any of his alarms, in fact she seemed to be going out her way to make sure they didn't pass anything remotely police or law enforcement. This gained a few points in his book. They pulled up to a large building that seemed familiar. it was in the nicer part of town, the part charlie would likely never go. she got out and he followed taking note of his surroundings and even nodding in greeting to the receptionist. no need to look as uncomfortable and as nervous as he felt. he was willing to toss a bit more trust Olympia's way, she was being very trusting that he was actually following her and not just running or just poofing away. She led him to a meeting like room that already had food ready on one side and a drink on the other. the smell reminded his stomach that he was in fact hungry. He poked the food a minute before eating it, his hunger winning out over his nervousness and paranoia. he knew she wanted to talk, but about what exactly? he had a rough idea but not knowing what she knew was leaving it up to chance on what she would ask. He had finally decided to just be honest about the situation. Perhaps she understand why he stole while knowing it was wrong. Perhaps it was a side job to take wayward teens and fix them. he was more concerned with helping his family then himself.

Her tone was deliberately made to sound as calm as possible, so she wouldn’t give any cause for him to feel he was being interrogated. “If you don’t mind me asking, what’s brought you to steal, and why stealing specifically? You said you weren’t allowed to do it any other way. I’m just curious why.” While she did want to know his name, she knew a situation like this felt more secure if names weren’t brought into the equation. If he were truly ready, he would introduce himself at his own accord. He surely could understand how unusual it sounded for him to proclaim stealing was his only option; she just wanted him to explain.

"Well my dad works hard but he can only do so much, not many jobs want him, the only jobs he can get are real crappy ones." He said still eating but not interrupting himself to take a bite. "He's missing part of his leg from his military days and it gives him issues sometimes when he stands too long. Before we moved here cause his job required him to, we lived in the lower income section of my old town an now where in the low income Hispanic neighborhoods." He knew there needed to be some back story. "My dad works all the time it never enough to live on. He doesn't know I look at the bills and see them all past due or soon to be turned off." He was poking a piece of chicken at this point "I tried to get him to sign off on me getting a work permit to try and help out but he tells me not to worry and work on school so I can get better jobs than he gets." It kinda felt good to tell someone. Hopefully, someone who understands. "I always see the gangs in my neighborhood flaunt money the had from what they stole. Trying to do jobs for people in my neighborhood got me $20 if I was lucky, and no one else wanted to hire some Mexican kid from the wrong side of town." It was rough explaining what led him to this point but it needed to be said, if she wanted to know why then she would have to hear all about him and his life. "I don't like taking from people that also need money that why I make sure they can handle me taking what we need. I even return what I don't use and make sure not to go the same places. People already expect me to be that shady kid, might as well make it worth it and get what we need to survive...." he paused having hopefully answered the question. Hopefully, she understand that this had his last resort.

As he spoke, she listened intently, trying to reflect on the scope of his problems. “I can understand the frustration, and given your situation—your gift included—it’s a logical solution, especially if you’re trying to get by. However, just because it’s easy, doesn’t mean it’s right. You can do so much more with your power than steal, but I know it’s hard to think of helping others when you must first help the people you love.” He knew that, though, but with very few options, there was no need to scold him about it. “I may be able to help you, if you’re willing to stop stealing.” While she could’ve presented the possible solution right then and there, she needed to know he would be willing to put it all behind him. While he wasn’t a hardcore thief, he was walking an unsavory path, and not by a desire to do so. It was a shame to think that others like him tried so hard to get by, but were running out of options. In the early days of career, she would’ve seen someone like him arrested without a second thought, but with age came understanding, and a realization that not every criminal was scum underneath. He wasn’t just a thief, he was a young man looking out for his family, a noble cause with not so noble means.
