Irritability.
It was written on the dark stallion's face as if chiseled in obsidian. He stared at the water beneath him, blinking every once in a while as the clear water shone from the sunlight above, blinding him for a moment. But he held still, his attention trained on what lay below the water. Fish swam around him and past him. He was hungry, very hungry. And fish was normally an exceptionally easy catch.
However, his concentration was not as sharp as he would like - thanks to an annoying raccoon who sat on the bank cackling at him as he tried and failed to catch a meal.
Becoming fed up with the mammal, he let out a loud hiss and glared at Demona with a heated look that silenced her. "Keep laughing, and I'll have you for lunch." He flicked his tail, cascading water about, particularly in the direction of the cackling creature, sending the fire raccoon skittering into the underbrush away from her irritable bonded.
Malice snorted in finality and turned his attention back to the water, his eyes straining to concentrate on his interrupted task. He was becoming more and more irritated as the moments ticked by.
C'mon stupid fish...
His tail flicked angrily. A shimmer in the water... He struck out with his strange mouth, sending water in all directions as he went after the prospective meal. His wings flapped, sending evermore water around him, but he had been successful and in his jaws a red snapper was clutched.
Lunch was served!

Aquila hummed to herself as she skipped along to meadow, idly wondering if there was anything interesting to see or do today. She weaved idly through the blooming wildflowers and breathed heavily, enjoying the mellow scent of the pretty yellow and white blooms. Perhaps she would pick some to take with her for the next few days, she considered, stopping in front a particularly beautiful specimen. It's stalk was a light green, covered in the light white fuzz common in the area. It's center was a deep, ominous brown that was surrounded by a slurry of small yellow petals. It reminded Aquila of a sunflower, but small, and the thought make her giggle as she stuck her nose closer to the flower to examine.
Alas though, she thought, looking down at her bulging leather pack that she had, only recently, started slinging over her flank. It was made from a pleasantly soft leather and had been carefully slung over her back behind her wings, the shiny silver buckles keeping it affixed even when in flight. She had such a bad habit of picking up bits and bobs over the course of her travel that it had only made sense to start carrying something to...well...carry her souvenirs. Perhaps it had only made her collecting tendencies worse though, now that she could actually store her trinkets in something.
She nosed the flower one last time, giving it a good sniff and silent apology. "Perhaps next time, little flower," she said, before taking a hearty chomp on the pretty little thing. The petals felt soft and tangy in her mouth, and her teeth crunched on the seeds in the center, savoring the texture, as she walked onward.
