Gemstone: Clear Quartz Gem Location: Solar Plexus (Between chest and naval)
Appearance: Gem has a chipped piece missing on the right side. Skinny, shorter than a pearl. His body is white and light grey, with limbs that end in transparency starting at the elbows and knees. His hair is grey and his eyes never seem to really focus on anything, causing him to look ghostly to most humans. His physical form "glitches" when he experiences extreme emotions, such as extreme embarrassment, nervousness, or anger, but this isn't painful or harmful for him. Also, he's really bad at masking his emotions. His voice is also grainy and monotone (Think of what an electrolarynx sounds like), leaving him unable to whisper or shout, and unable to verbally express emotions, however he does so through body language. (Or, refer to the temporary image on the right drawn by me, lol)
Personality: Despite his (to some) unnerving appearance, Clear is actually a very open, loyal, and friendly gem. He worries a lot about those he cares about and is terrible at hiding his emotions, no matter how hard he tries. He's easy to get along with and eager to meet new gems and humans alike.
Alignment: Rose's Rebellion (or any rebellion really)
Abilities (if applicable): -Essence Sight; He can see into the emotions and personalities of sentient creatures around him, essentially being able to "read" them. Doing this too much hurts his head, due to being damaged, so he only does it when he feels someone is hiding something.
-Essence Drain; he can "drain" negative emotions out of an ally through a touch, calming them down. He doesn't use this unless he feels it's absolutely necessary because it exhausts him, sometimes to the point of poofing.
-Strength; he's no Jasper due to being chipped, however he did retain some of his Quartz strength.
-Fusion; Like all gems, he is capable of fusion, but it's difficult for him. He has to really trust the other gem and it often takes several attempts to stay in a fusion as due to his chip, sometimes a fusion with him in it will simply fall apart for no obvious reason as it strains him.
-Shapeshifting; he has very limited shapeshifting. The most he can really do is change his outfit.
Weapon: Spiked flail, which he can augment the size and length of at will. (however, the longer the chain/bigger the weapon, the more cumbersome and harder it becomes to control)
Bio/History: Clear was once a proud, powerful warrior who served Pink Diamond during the Rebellion and Gem War. He became involved in the war along with a squad of other gems, including a Stibnite who he was in charge of protecting, until he was poofed and his gem was chipped in battle. Rose Quartz found his mostly-intact gem and, feeling bad for him, used her tears to heal him. In gratitude, Clear switched sides and served her in the rebellion. Like most gems, he was once a "she", when he started to project a smaller, more compact version of his physical form, he changed his gender identity, feeling it made him look and feel closer to what he used to be and also breaking away from the mold imposed by the Diamonds. (Note; I made Clear's backstory rather vague so I could tailor it to my RP partners and accommodate for new canon info)
Dance Style: Tap dancing.
Extra: -He's incapable of laughing or sobbing because of his voice. It was the best grip he could ever get on his voice without his speech being reversed or garbled to the point of incomprehensibility. He's very self-conscious about it.
-Clear is based on a piece of clear quartz I own IRL and use for metaphysical stuff, named Jay, who is shaped like Clear's gem. (I'll probs post a picture eventually)
-He has a thing for pearls, and he's REALLY bad at hiding it. (yes, I am open to the idea of shipping him!)
-Due to at one point being a very large, very powerful soldier, he used to laugh at and look down on gems smaller than himself. (usually in only a teasing fashion, though some took it personally) Now he doesn't even dream of it.
-When meeting new humans, he habitually explains his voice by saying he used to be a smoker and got throat cancer. It's easier than explaining that his gem is broken which affects his physical form, how he had to cut corners to put energy where it counts, ect.
