Altair sat on the pillows lining the inside of his window, watching the day pass him by. He had just experience a week that had to be produced by a very angry member of the Nine. There was no other way to describe the week he was experiencing. Alshain was sick with something frightful, and Altair had been in two life-threatening altercations in a matter of days. As much as Altair wanted to believe that he was solitary, a lone-wolf who was self-efficient and needed no one ... had he become dependent on Alshain? His twin had always been there, since day one ... was Altair being too cruel to him?
No, that couldn't be it. Alshain was born to serve him. It was a relationship the two had establish a long time ago. But ... what if it was for some strange reason ... always intended to be the other way around? What if in some twisted way Alshain being Altair's stepping stool all these years was truly a sign of some greater purpose?
Altair had to snort at that. He was just lonely, and his mind was wandering, and coming up with crazy, ridiculous realities that were entirely fabricated. Alshain ... the true mastermind. How ridiculous!
Although ... what would a world without Alshain even be like? Darker, maybe. Certainly a lot more difficult. Perhaps Altair should consider being nicer to his twin ... then again, Alshain almost seemed pleased by all the attention. Alshain seemed to thrive off being needed ...
Did Altair need Alshain?
It was something to think about.
Shifting slightly, Altair decided to focus more on his future. Maybe he would become an excellent scientist, or a famous movie star ... Altair was excited to face adulthood head on.
