Seashel talks in #83AF9B / Emerald talks in #CDAF95

((If you'd like to rp for funsies, quote me and I'll reply when I have a minute.))

Seashell had reluctantly allowed Emerald to come along, but seeing the crowd already starting to gather he decides it was a good idea after all. After all, he'd be loath to leave any treasure he might procure behind, all because he had refused her request to come. Besides, she had helped get their area set up. He wasn't weak by any means, but it did help to have someone steady the logs while he pushed them.

He'd set up their area to be mostly encircled by logs, large stones keeping them in place. It wouldn't really stop a thief, but it did make him feel more secure, and anyway most would be more interested in the tokens he's got to offer. The front of their clearing has a gap large enough to fit a few bucks, the back and one side surrounded by thick bushes, the other side facing booths across the path. Along the buck lined sides are turtle shells, some full of tokens to trade, others empty and waiting for treasure. Emerald pacing circles in her excitement to see it all, sorting arena resorting the tokens restlessly.

Seashell sits in the entrance, watching everyone pass by, calling to any who come near, "Bring a pretty, get a token! As easy as that! Got a stone with an interesting pattern? Or a feather from a serpent? Maybe a rare flower? I'll take it all, and give a token in return!"

((Easy remembering for me of what they've got.))

Seashell's stash
White feather long & pristine --from Silent Secrets
Glittering stone from an abandoned magpie nest --from Colorblind
Colorful glittering shell --from Obscure Truth
Golden cicada shell --from Lizard Kisses

How it works.

Feel free to ask if I have confused you.

Once a day your kin can bring Seashell a trinket, either draw it or RP finding it & bringing it to him (please include a description of it) in 150 words minimum. The 150 word minimum can not all or mostly be trinket description, there needs to be a good portion of it going to finding and giving said trinket. As a side note, if you want to do more than 150 words feel free, but please try not to write a full novel. XD

-Every trinket given to Seashell gets 1 token. No extras. Seashell will gladly take more than 1 trinket for 1 token though. XD
-Limit to 1 per person per day.
-Art does not need to be amazing top quality, but please put some effort into it.
-Art does need to be drawn by you.

Trinket restrictions
-Keep the trinkets world appropriate. Natural items like stones, shells, seeds, feathers, etc, and things a kin can craft with such are all fine.
-He does not accept food or pets, only shiny or interesting things.
-He will not accept the same thing from the same kin. If your kin brings him a black feather one day, that is the only day he will accept a black feather from that kin. If your kin brings him a black feather one day, that kin can bring a different colored feather another day.
-Two different kin (kin not owners) can bring him the same item, as long as the art or rp is different.

Optional
If you want to get a chance at a second token, you can try to get Emerald away from Seashell long enough for her to also trade with you. To succeed you need both a successful dice roll and another 150 words RP or bit of art (tbh you can do the rp and art, but the 150 word minimum is only for no art, for Seashell as well).
-Once a day, roll two 100 sided dice, in the post trading with Seashell.
-If the first number is even you get Emerald away from Seashell.
-If the first number is odd, Seashell keeps Emerald close by his side.
-If the second number is 42 you succeed in trading a trinket to her and receive 1 extra token.
-Post with art of the extra trinket or a 150 word minimum of you giving it to Emerald. Be sure to describe the trinket.
-If you do not roll a 42 on the second die, then Seashell sees you and shoos you away.
-Seashell's trinket restrictions apply to Emerald as well.

Trinket ideas (if you are stuck)
Bones & skeletons, especially of the more rare familiars
Feathers (esp. feathered serpent & gryphon), insect wings (esp. giant moth/wasp/mantis/dragonfly)
Turtles shells of every size and color
Flowers (live or dried) or seeds
Rocks, gems, river stones
Shells, especially from the ocean
Pearls
Animal pelts & skins (not well preserved/treated obviously, unless you are a legendary with paws that can work it)
Egg shells
Pretty much anything that sparkles in the sun and/or is unique in some way.

Silent Secrets searches the forest floor around here. Digging with her hooves, looking for anything that might look of value or interest. She had seen two other kin sitting in an area, with logs and moss surrounding them. They had asked her to find something useful but pretty to bring back to them. Silent Secrets wasn't entirely sure why, and she didn't think it was polite to ask.

She scraped an area gently with her hoof, moving some dirt and leaves. Under the leaves she found a very white, very pristine feather. The feather looked like it had fallen from the heavens above. It was a long feather, soft to the touch, almost like feeling the warmth of sunshine on your face. Oddly there was no dirt on the feather. It looked as if it had been purposely hidden there, just waiting to be found.

"I wonder if those strange kin would like something like this? It's so pretty, and shiny despite where it was found. I think I will take this to them and hope they like it!" Silent Secrets said to herself.

She gently picked up the feather, trying her hardest not to cause any damage to it. She started to tiptoe back to the kin that where waiting. Hoping they'd like the gift she had found for them.

'I wish I had feathers like this. They'd make me feel so soft, and look so bright.' she thought to herself.

Silent Secrets stepped closer to the two kin and gently placed the brilliant feather on the ground next to them. She back up and bowed her head at them.

"I hope you like it. It was the best I could find on the forest floor." she whispered.

Emerald smiles at the doe, clearly pleased by the feather. Seashell gives a hint of a smile before hiding it away, he too is pleased by it, but refuses to show how much he might value it. "This will do, thank you." he says, passing over a token for Silent Secrets.

Colorblind approached the ring of logs with her treasure carefully toted to trade. She offered up her glittering crystal shard to the sun-warmed buck, smiling before telling its story. "I found this gem in the trove of a magpie. The nest seemed long abandoned, however this beauty was left behind. I hope it catches your eye as much as it catches the winter sunlight."

The doe stepped back to let the two examine the gem, her eyes twinkling not unlike her gift.

This time Seashell does smile at the offering, he can't help it, sparkling things are by far his favorite. "Wonderful! And here's your token." he passes over a token.

Emerald quietly plucks up the stone and carefully puts it into a shell.

Obscure Truth treads lightly through the forest, while looking around at all the her surroundings. She's on a mission. She needs to find it. Find what she does not know. Yet.
She starts digging lightly at the forest floor, nudging dirt this way and that. She looked next to where she was digging and noticed a bunch of scattered rocks. Thinking nothing of it she starts shifting the rocks around. Nothing seemed pretty spectacular. She was just about to give up looking but just as she was about to turn she seen it. A multi coloured shell. It was glorious. The shine on it was magnificent, the hues of colours just oozed from it. It seemed to glitter in certain lights.

"Such a beautiful shell." Obscure Truth whisper to no one.

She gently picks up the shell and carries it back to the two kin she had seen sitting there when she first arrived at the forest. She placed the shell in front of the two kin and backed away. Obscure Truth wasn't sure why she felt the need to bring the shell to them, but it was a forceful pull.

She quickly turned and jumped away without saying a word.

Lizard Kisses nodded as she gazed at the booth from afar. So they wanted treasures, yes? Gifts from the swamp? That was fine. She could go find them something! Trundling off, she kept her eyes to the trees, looking for something particular. Finally, one caught her eye- a delicate cicada shell, gold in the light, its occupant long gone. It was clinging to a branch by one spiny leg. Gingerly and carefully, she pulled it down, not wanting to crush it. Cicada shells were so very pretty, and you could never have enough of them. Gently, she placed it before the treasure hunters. "It's a cicada shell. Hold it up to the light; it glimmers and sparkles. It's very thin and delicate, but tough at the same time."

Okay is Wonderful was probably cheating a bit, with this one. Another doe had already asked her for this - but it wasn't like this was the only shell she'd found.

It was a very pretty shell, too! A lovely iridescent seashell that glimmered in the light. Would it be shiny enough? Oh, maybe not - she'd picked the nicer one for the other doe. There was a little scratch there. Maybe, she thought, looking over at the pair. Maybe...she perched the shell on a log and gave it quite a few licks, from every angle. Now it was extremely shiny. She picked it up in a leaf and trotted it over to the pair. "What do you think of this?" she asked, looking quite merry. "It took me a lot of searching, but I think it catches the light well - don't you?"

They wouldn't mind the saliva, she consoled herself. Kin didn't have paws or anything - she hardly could've carried it over in a hoof! Right? Besides, it didn't matter where a trinket came from if it did its job, which was to please the eye.

Blood Magic was a glittery fellow himself, so his natural affinity for bits of shiny rock was understandable. He had with him a great deal of mica and quartz that he was handing out as gifts, so when he came across a buck collecting treasures, he figured that a quartz point would be as good a treasure as any.

A treasure? As though his presence wasn't enough of a treasure on its own?

Rather disgruntled, Endeavor still wasn't one to back down from a challenge, though he found it awfully strange that he had to procure something else. Still, he supposed it wouldn't be very fair to any other bucks - or does - who didn't have the blessing of beauty the swamp had given him, so he decided to play along. He was fair, of course, even if it was technically two treasures he'd be granting!

After a bit of hunting, the rather impatient buck found something he fancied, and decided to bring it back on offer. It was an old spider's web - with no spider attached - woven perfectly between two twigs on a branch. He was careful as he broke the thing from the dying tree he'd found it on, and managed to return it in one piece.

"It may not last long, if you're not careful," he sighed dramatically, "but if well kept I think it's quite lovely."

As she went from booth to booth with her gar scales, Real Big Fish found a pair to present her present to. "This is the scale of a gar," she said, "an ancient fish whose scales are more like bony plates than what you'd find on most any other fish. You can use them for all sorts of purposes; sharpen up the edge and you can cut fruit, or use it to hold spices."

Gift giving! Now that was something that Sunchoke could get behind. She loved all manner of trinkets and shiny baubles - the brighter the better! - and considered herself quite good at finding them. She immediately took to nosing around, searching for something to offer - and hoping to find several things, perhaps, in case there were others with similar booths!

In the end her gift for this one in particular was a long, spiraling snail shell; it was banded in many colors, its inhabitant long since deceased, and took only a bit of rinsing in a pool to make a lovely looking thing. She was almost loathe to give it up - but such was the name of the game, right?

"I hope you like it!" she declared happily as she offered her precious find.

Sun-Bleached was new to the winter market - still relatively new to the world, in truth - but he'd come to the gathering like so many others to see what games and events were taking place. The first thing he found was a gift giving stall; wasn't that a bit funny? Making a 'game' to get something for oneself? Still, upon explanation that he'd get some kind of token in return, he decided to participate.

The young buck didn't put a terribly large amount of effort into his gift finding... In truth, he simply happened upon an interesting looking bush as he idled about hoping something would jump out at him. He broke off one of the branches, on it several dried seed pods - the seeds long gone but the odd looking husks still remaining - and brought it back. He didn't offer words, simply waiting expectantly until his gift was received before wandering off to see what else he could see.

Low Tide was excited to visit the gathering of kin, and even before arriving had gone out of her way to gather several things the might make good gifts, as she'd heard that it was popular to exchange trinkets and baubles during the event. She was glad to know her efforts would not go unrewarded, particularly after the difficulty she'd had making a crude basket out of two turtle shells and a fair amount of clay in order to carry her finds.

For this particular instance she offered something she considered quite pretty: a small, rough pearl, marked with several bumps and pocks but still quite beautifully iridescent. It took her a moment to shake it out of the makeshift pouch, and even then she did spill out a few other things, but in the end she was able to offer it happily.
