But enough about the small talk, the reason you've been called is for a much more dire, pressing situation. You see, a little accident happened a few days ago (the details we won't bother going into detail), and because of that trifling undetailed detail, the entirely library has gone into disarray. Entire collections have been torn apart, pages, chapters missing. Some books are simply a sad cover while others are missing everything but the conclusion. Now, while the library is trivial to some, it also archives some of the most important written documents to any civilization. If the books are not re-archived and filled, if the shelves remain empty, it will unravel the entire existence of this precious library, and this place has quite a lot to hide. After all, how would you discover a secret if the secret ceases to exist?
Anyway, time to get to work, even if you have I assure, extremely commonplace questions. Can I guess you're asking 'what is the library' or maybe 'why is this library so important'? If you're just going to ask why the Library is called the Library, trust me, this was the better choice over 'The LilBarry, a literary collection named after the curator's third grandchild'.

GENERAL RULES:
gaia_crown To participate in the event, PLEASE READ THIS ORP FIRST AND THEN THE RULES ON HOW TO EVENT BELOW
gaia_crown You may participate with up to three characters. These can be of any faction. If you do not have a character in this shop but would like to join, please make a student quest first. For this event, only quest students will be allowed. Quest students will not get rp credit that you can stack, but you can use them to earn extra tickets by participating in the rp events.
gaia_crown For EXISTING AND GUEST STUDENTS are ICly arriving at this event through a part time job request. It promises decent pay, doesn't look too shady, and only requires one portal trip through the Town Hall to get to The Library. For more information as to how to proceed with RP from that point, please read the post below on EVENT HOW TO.
gaia_crown For HORSEMEN are ICly arriving at this event though the detection of high miasma surrounding The Library, after being whisked to this place through a rogue miasma portal. Something is wrong, and it is only through exploring that you will find any answers. For more information as to how to proceed with RP from that point, please read the post below on EVENT HOW TO.
gaia_crown For HUNTERS are ICly arriving at this event due to an open mission request for all divisions. It is an SOS request to locate and rescue several Hunters that have gone missing in the library. For more information as to how to proceed with RP from that point, please read the post below on EVENT HOW TO.
gaia_crown You may claim a max of 25 rp points from this event. By posting over 600 words in any thread related to this event, you will get 2 rp points. You may claim a max of 6 rp points a day through this method.
gaia_crown You may claim a 5 EXTRA RPed raffle tickets a day. By posting over 600 words in any thread related to this event, you will get 1 raffle ticket. So 5 extra + 1 free = 6 max a day.
gaia_crown You CAN give your prize away to a friend if you win it. They must submit an enroll within one month of the win, and they must have submitted at least 5 tickets themselves in the raffle and have rped AT LEAST ONE PRP/SOLO/ OR ORP in the event (proof will be required)
gaia_crown You may use all battle mechanics and Fear abilities. This entirely is up to you (but see below on how to)

HOW TO EVENT IN 5 EASY STEPS:
gaia_crown [ STEP 0 ] Read this orp first! Then while you are digesting it come back here!
gaia_crown [ STEP 1 ] CHOOSE A CHARACTER: You can use a GUEST CHARACTER/HALLOWEEN CITIZEN or Enrolled character. If you are using a guest character you will get no rp points from this event. Otherwise enrolled characters get 2 rp points per 600 word EVENT prp or orp they participate in (they themselves have to write the 600 words cumulatively across posts).
gaia_crown [ STEP 2: ] LOG EVENT RPS IN JOURNAL : - Once you have picked a character (you can have UP TO THREE characters), create a post in your character's journal. You will be logging all the rps there for points later.
gaia_crown [ STEP 3: ] READ THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO RP, POINTS SYSTEM, WHERE TO START, AND SETTING : exclaim RP INFO HERE exclaim

THE LIBRARY EVENT TOOLKIT:(PRP ONLY) BOOK MIMICS:While most of the library-inclined denizens have settled into a middle aged content life of minimum wage and no payment interest property rental, some of them have only gotten more malicious and restless over time. Book Mimics are the of what happens when a forgotten book is left even more forgotten - it wants nothing better than to be memorable and remembered. Those trashy romance books about buff Roman general love, those not-quite fact books about how scintillating it would be to sear your steak for three seconds longer, those are what book mimics used to be. Now they just seek attention and of course, to be loved and popular. And what better way to be popular than to harass and invade anything that gets in their way?
gaia_crown [ Random Book Mimic Encounters! ]: Occasionally, in any of your page filling voyages (PRP ONLY), you may encounter a book mimic spawn. OOCly, this mimic can be summoned by the original creator of the thread by copying and pasting this code below into their post: [center][img]http://zoo.thesporkedken.com/download/library/library_bossencounters.jpg[/img]

[b]Special effect: [/b] Book mimics have the power of [b]forced narration[/b]. Every "turn" (that is after everyone in the prp has attacked or 8 hours has passed between attacks), the book mimic will force an absolutely nonsensical narration to everyone in the party. Unfortunately, everyone there will have to obey it [i]to any degree[/i]. They are not life-threatening by any degree, but they are annoying. Some examples could be like "Book suddenly calls upon pots and pans to be washed" or "Book mimic demands suddenly everyone speak only in rhyme". These CUMULATIVE effects last until THE MIMIC IS KILLED in the thread only. The GM of the thread (the thread owner who summoned it) gets to make up one per turn until the book mimic is defeated. Make sure to always post the boss's remaining HP in your post so people know! gaia_crown Book Mimics may use an ability called "forced narration" that forces the characters (rpers) in the book to do extremely mundane requests. These tasks must be fulfilled by at least one character before the book mimic can be defeated. When it is, everyone in the thread will pick up a page see below). Archive your page wins in your character's actual journal (make a post for this in your character's journal). PAGES:Pages are the "currency" of this event for IC happenings. Please make a post in your character's journal to log the collection of all pages you have earned. At the end of the event you will be able to tally them all! You can get pages one of three ways:
gaia_crown By defeating Book Mimics (see above), you will get a page
gaia_crown By participating in GM orps, you will get a page at the end of the ORP of a certain amount.
gaia_crown By writing 600 words or more CUMULATIVE between all prp players in an orp, you will get a page.
At the end of the event, you will be able to use your pages to check out books permanently. This basically means that any prp you create in this event your character can ICly in person revisit again any time simply by opening the book and jumping into it! It means you can continue any AU narration and the likes. You are also allowed to invite other characters to it.
- If you would like to "check out" a prp a friend has created, and you have their permission you may also do this. Both of you will receive copies. Having two copies simply means that you guys can rp separately without needing one or the other person.
- In your character journal, make room for a post called LIBRARY COLLECTION. This will feature all the books that you have rped in (link the prp to them) so that you can easily refer to their setting if you would like to turn them in for a permanent collection book. You can worldbuild as much as you like in that book, as it is an entirely fictional AU for you to play around with.

SEVEN QUILLS:
gaia_crown Quill of Destruction: This allows the user to immediately destroy any book mimic they encounter. This can only be used in 1 thread a day.
gaia_crown Quill of Pride: This allows the user to get 2 pages per day instead of one for being a part of a prp over the 600 word limit. The more the merrier!
gaia_crown Quill of Knowledge: This bizarre quill allows the user to, in a book, be able to read the minds of other characters. Since mind reading is a tricky trait, they must voice the question first by icly rping it, and then see the result of what the other characters think versus what they say. This can only be used once per day.
gaia_crown Quill of Reflection: This quill allows the user to clone themselves. While sometimes this is absolutely bizarre and weird, sometimes it is absolutely normal in that narrative setting. The clone has the same traits as the original user but only lasts in book form till the end of the prp/opr.
gaia_crown Quill of Grief: This quill influences the emotions of other players. Using this quill will immediately cause other characters to notice your character, but in the tragic hero/heroine sort of situation where they can't help but feel bad and sorry for you. This can only be used once per rp per day.
gaia_crown Quill of Protection: This quill will protect you from the narrative hijinks of any book mimic. This effect lasts one per rp per day.
gaia_crown Quill of Revenge: This quill will almost immediately turn any hapless character in the thread into your archnemesis. Just uh, don't blame us for what happens... This effect lasts once per rp per day.

gaia_crown You can just claim one raffle point just by posting in the raffle thread using the DAILY FREE RAFFLE form.
gaia_crown For additional tickets, whenever you participate in any event rp and post over 600 words cumulatively in it you are eligible for a raffle point! You can claim up to 5 a day.

FAQ: gaia_crown So what happens when I make an rp?
- First you should pick if you want a prp or orp. Then follow the general guidelines here
gaia_crown Okay I posted an rp and posted 600 words. What next?
- Now you will be able to claim three things. Make sure you log this post in your student/hunter/horsemen journal (if you haven't no journal use your character's QUESTING thread). For each 600 words posted you get +2 rp points, +1 raffle ticket to be redeemed here and +1 BOOK PAGE (read the above post on pages)
gaia_crown My friends abandoned me in the rp. What now?
- No worries, you can start another one or join another prp or orp. You can even use the same setting or if you make a new rp, use the same continuation of the storyline you were using.
gaia_crown Help?? How do I fanfic??
- Instead of having your character write a fanfic, it is more that they are a part of it. Have them ICly take part in that world as if it were an alternate universe. An AU is basically a reality where your character exists as part of that world, for example, if this were Pokemon they would think they were a pokemon trainer.
gaia_crown Do a combination of ORPS count for the 600 daily words? Or daily writing promps? Or ORP and PRPS? Or GM event ORPS, PRPS and my own ORPS?

gaia_crown I want to do an AU setting that isn't a literary book (ie: a tv movie) is that okay.
As long as you can KEEP IT PG 13 OR BELOW THAT IS FINE.

Two questions:
1: Are quills only for this event or can they be used in other TIH roleplays?
2: For perma linked books, does that mean at any time we can start a rp in the book world and if so, is it in our journal only? Add to that, can we only go into our perma books with people who earned that book too, or can we bring friends. (invite them to read with us)
