She hadn't wanted to leave Zena. Riya had grown used to the cold temperatures and she enjoyed the company of a certain Ice boy. Still, her family was traveling and it was highly unlikely they were going to leave her alone again. At least for a while.
With her perzi walking along beside her, on the side away from her brother, she sighed. The poor beast had to wear a coat made just for it in the low climate but she was hoping that it would be warm enough in sauti to take it off. "Poor Hugs." She cooed at her Perzi as she reached down and pet his head. Glancing toward her brother she gave him a smile. "Are you excited to be going back to Sauti?" Riya had almost asked him if it was Li he was happy to be going back to but decided against it. Uli didn't need to be teased just yet.

While, his sister was upset about leaving her new little male friend. Uli on the other hand was glad to get outta his Mother's stuffy hometown. On the surface it seemed as if everything was okay and nothing was out of sorts...nope. Uli had the sinking feeling that things were bad and hybrids weren't as accepted as his Mother would of liked to lead them to believe. He had seen many stares at his Aunts and Uncles, part of him wanted to just ask his Grandmother's to move. He got the feeling that wasn't an option.... Glancing to his sister as they walked. Not far from the caravan, of course. He chuckled. "Of course! Li's back there and the Inn with all its lively music and such..." Li was back there....wait he already mentioned that. He blushed a little for some odd reason before he looked at her. "Gunna miss, Ergon?" he asked.

She loved the Inn as well. It was home. More or less. Still, Riya glanced over her shoulder and back toward Zena when her brother mentioned Ergon. "Yes. I wish he could come with us." She didn't like that her family lived in Sauti most of the time. Then again she had also promised her brother and her best friend that she would always protect them and the Inn. Could she ask Ergon to come with her if he didn't want to leave Zena? Iriyana frowned and looked forward. "This sucks, Uli. I really wanted to spend more time with him." There was a soft sigh that left her and she rubbed Hugs' head as he bumped into her leg.

Uli smiled at his sister. "Maybe you could talk Mom into letting you live in Zena with Granmama and the others.." the last time they left them he heard that his Grandmother wasn't sticking around the Inn as much as she used to. Something about her not liking their Dad. He hummed as Polaris nudged him. The youth chuckling as he reached back to stroke the beasts side. "It could work...Granmama said that most of our Aunts and Uncles were leaving the Inn for their own paths...not that building a adjoining hut to just help with the workload for their own trades is exactly moving on..."

She made a face at his suggestion. "Not after what Grandmother gave me." Riya wasn't too fond of the stomach pain she had endured. "I'd rather stay with Dad's family." Which was saying something since their grandma on that side liked to put her in dresses.
Riya shook her head then and sighed. "Besides, I promised you and Li that I would protect you and the Inn." She grinned at her twin and moved closer so that she could bump into him on purpose. "You know I was practicing my archery skills." Something she was proud of.

Uli made to dispute that then he just sighed. "That's not Granmama and you know it." he would defend their kinder grandparent. She after all was the magical one and therefore where he got his talents from. He glanced to his sister. "Hmm, just like I've been practicing my magic...fantastic. Mom will be pleased."

Even if it was only one of them she still didn't want to be in the same house. Iriyana sighed. Instead she fell quiet for a moment before she reached out and looped her arm with her brother's. "I was gonna practice that day too. To blow off some steam." Mostly everyone had stopped asking her all the time if she remembered, which was a good thing, and it gave her time to think. Riya chewed on her cheek for a moment. "Hey.. Uli.. when we were in Zena.. no one tried to talk to you did they? Like.. a strange guy?" She wanted to know if the same man had approached her brother. If he had then she would skip talking to him and go right to their parents.

Uli blinked. "No...no one weird or odd has come up to bother me. While back in Zena you mean?" he tilted his head. As the pair walked on, Uli pulled her to a stop. "Riya...who talked to you? Why? What do you remember?" He was getting scared.

It was a relief to know that no one had approached her brother. When Hulis pulled her to a stop though she looked at their parents then at him. "Most of it? All of it?" Her shoulders lifted slightly.
"It was someone that Mom knows." Riya looked at their mother then, feeling a bit off. "He said that.. I should have been his daughter. So.. I'm wondering if maybe mom was sleeping with him too. I mean.. is dad really our dad?" She might not like her dad sometimes but he was still the one she called her dad. Did he know if their mother was sleeping with someone else? Would it matter to him considering how he had been? She pressed her lips together and glared at the ground. "I don't know.. he seemed angry that mom chose dad over him."

Every instinct in Hulis' body went off at once. Was his sister doubting their parents?! Sure she always had odds with their Dad...but...this...this level of doubt had him stopping to stare at her. A large part of him wanting to confront her about that, then the other just telling him to scale it back. Don't overreact. He took a soft breathe before he spoke. "Riya...I'm going to ask you to think very carefully on that. Mom always told us their story as a means to put us to sleep." He calmed himself a bit more. "She said...Dad was her first. We were proof of faith in love." he felt a little upset but disregarded it. "That...jerk...whoever he was. Was not family. Why take his word as anything more than just words? Why listen to him and give doubt?"

A frown formed on her lips. "I know, I know Uli. It's just.." Riya thought back to the expression the man wore as he told her those things. "He seemed really angry. It was scary." Even more so since she happened to have remembered in a dream that woke her up. Which would account for her screaming nightmare the other night. Iriyana sighed and looked at her twin. "Sorry. I was just really worried. He seemed serious and... and he said he'd go after you too."
Riya pressed her lips tightly together then and looked down as her perzi rubbed up against her leg. He was asking for attention since they weren't walking anymore so she reached down and scratched his ears.

Uli felt his spine snap into place. Their roles were reversed here. Usually Riya was the brave one. Whoever this guy was...he was going to get it. "If he comes after me, he comes after me. And you know what. He'll have to deal with Polaris! Who, we both know, was trained to protect thanks to Mom!" Speaking of Polaris the Janarim was standing between the twins. A look to his eyes that neither would of ever had seen before. The Large albino head of the beast leaned down to nudge Riya. His bestial mind clicking as it recalled such a male to have threatened his Trainer in the past. There was a low growl that had Uli jumping in shock as the beast lightly clasped his jaw around Riya's shoulder. Letting go to lick where he had his teeth moments ago. They would know that as his signal of reassurance. Of the promise to return harm they suffered. Uli lost his voice for a moment...

"He kicked me in the face to make me fall off a cliff Uli.. what if he does worse to you?" Riya worried about her brother like that. She was just lucky that there had been fresh snow the night before to make her landing softer. Otherwise she wouldn't be standing there with him now.
When Polaris began to act strange she looked at him with an odd expression before half stumbling at being nudged. "Polaris.." Then came the "bite" and she just looked at him. "Silly beast, you just protect Uli."
Hugs, on the other hand, was none too pleased with the teeth being put on his person. So he hissed and spittled and arched his back at the janarim even though he would clearly lose a fight against him. Riya looked down at the perzi and chuckled. "It's alright Hugs. I'm okay." The young teen bent down and collected her pet so that she could bring him close for cuddling. He sought out her warmth and kept his eyes on Polaris. "On the bright side.. at least now we know my dress was ripped for a different reason. So no worries there." Iriyana was trying to find the silver lining to the whole thing.

There was a long pause from her brother. Hulis sighed as he turned to watch Hugs. "You. Play nice. Polaris has been protecting her way longer than you." yes he was a bit more snippy than he should of been, but it was true. Polaris on the other hand loomed over Riya with a low growl to the tinier beast. The twins were apart of his pack. Hugs had yet to prove himself as a valid packmate. Hulis started walking again. "Right. At least there's that." his tone was flat.

Riya watched her brother for a moment. He really didn't like her perzi. But it was more than that. It was his flat tone when he spoke just before walking again. She stood there for a moment, watching, before she started to follow. Iriyana sighed but otherwise remained silent. Maybe she shouldn't have told her brother that she remembered? Slowly she took a deep breath and looked at Hugs as he seemed content in her arms. Well at least someone was happy with her.
