Aptera considered that perhaps her observation yet again upon her arrival here now like weeks before, that this place is some sort of combat training facility, was not merely a repeatedly experienced thought from visual examination. Perhaps, a part of her may realize from distant memory that this was for certain what she thought it was even though a notable part of her present state was still wondering constantly about how all she was now experiencing and has been experiencing with regards to being able to be here in the first place was reality at all.
It was currently a daylight hour from what she was observing as she walked through a hall along the periphery of the fortress she was still just starting to discover bits and pieces of since her first visit. She couldn't pinpoint with confidence if she had been here, at this exact location, during her last visit, but the space she presently traversed bore a resemblance to where she had been during her previous visit here around the same time as now as well. It was during that previous visit that she had paused in the middle of walking as though seemingly struck by surprise by having suddenly felt like she was stepping through a dream. In that dream, as she looked across the expansive landscape and scenery through the windows in availing of the accessible views of this world's nature that was afforded her, she saw that the light of day shifted so what she saw then was instead that which was illuminated by the night for a few moments. She had walked here before, thousands of years ago? That was the question that hit her first, accompanying the feeling that answered seemingly almost right before and even still while she asked her query in a wordless state of awe and puzzlement.
On this visit, she had begun to suspect that she would likely not have a dream-like experience like that aforementioned circumstance during her previous visit.
However, as her gaze fell on a prominent shelf-like area along the wall she traced, a dream pulled her in abruptly like the one during the visit a notable number of days now before this one.
In this visit's dream, she had been walking like she had been outside of her dream state. However, she did not stop at the place along the wall she had noticed before entering said dream. In this dream, she instead walked on and the hall gave way to an open space resembling a balcony as she stepped toward the edge and rested a hand on the surface of the structural part of the architecture of this entire place that guarded against a sharp drop. What she could see were an assortment of areas encompassed here to spectate and to train according to a mysterious source inside her. It was only a brief, scanning but fairly confident look, and then in the dream she did walk toward the corner housing a shelf-like space.
And next, some sort of lantern was pulled closer from where it had been resting and lit before a ring was hung on a part of its handle. And just as abruptly, the dream ended. Aptera found the lantern-like item resting where it had been in the dream and detached the ring she also found hanging on its handle. Upon examination, she noted the ring had a unique and somehow familiar design as she fit it comfortably around her right ring finger before then decidedly keeping it; her feeling at that memorable moment that she had reunited with the ring was stark but no less bewildering.
