My father's been in the Army since before my older sister was born, and he still is! Needless to say I'm used to moving around. Don't be surprised if you see me talking about moving again because my family is in constant motion.
I was diagnosed with social anxiety and general anxiety a few years back. I'm currently on medication for it, but haven't seen a psychologist in a long while. My anxiety does tend to get the better of me when it comes to online communication. I tend to overcompensate or hesitate to respond to things. I'm really sorry. Please don't pressure me, but feel free to give me a nudge if a week has gone by.
I currently am still living with my parents. I graduated college in May of 2015 but with a degree that I wasn't so stoked for after my anxiety diagnosis (print journalism). I'm now taking some community college classes to pad my graphic design side. I would love to be a desktop publisher or photo journalist.

Character Backstory: Meredith grew up amongst their kind with two fathers. Their life was filled with music even from a young age. The songs their kind sang were magic to Meredith even when they were simply for music. Sometimes it felt like Meredith heard music where others didn't. They could hear melodies in the current of the water and the creatures that swam beside them. When Meredith entered the Academy they were introduced to the Nine by friends. They didn't think much of all but one; Mnemosyne seemed to call to them and explained the world they knew. Meredith's friends expected them to honor the goddess through their voice, but Meredith felt it came too easy since it was a natural-born talent. They felt Mnemosyne would prefer if Meredith learned a new musical outlet through practice. It took a lot of searching but one day they found a lute in a music classroom. After giving it a strum, they knew this was their destiny guided by Mnemosyne.
Meredith brought their music home with them and continued to practice during breaks. While their fathers could not understand their child's devotion to any of the Nine, they loved them and respected Meredith's determination and talent enough not to shame their child for their new religion. (Their fathers do completely support Meredith in their goals, though. They even bought Meredith a lute a celebration of their graduation from Grendel.) Meredith decided to play on the streets of a city nearby their home. They played for coin to save up for their ultimate dream to be able to purchase a storefront and start the career they felt would best honor Mnemosyne. Meredith also liked playing on the streets to spread the love of music.
Where are they now? Meredith dedicated their life to Mnemosyne completely. Eventually, they were able to earn enough to open a music shop where they sell instruments of all sorts and even provide lessons. Through their time working on the streets, Meredith made a lot of musical friends that now work for them in the shop. If Meredith doesn't know how to play the requested instrument, one of their friends will. It is still a habit for them to go out to the streets on their day's off and play just for the sake of music. Anything earned during these sessions is donated straight to a temple of Mnemosyne. Thanks to these easily accessed demonstrations, Meredith's shop is well known and well liked by their local community. In recent time Meredith has also introduced a section to buy music crystals so those that insist they don't have any talent can still enjoy music. Some patrons have asked about a cafe being included to have a place to listen to the music and chill, but Meredith wants to keep the shop focused on music¬. Maybe one day they will cave in but this is what feels right currently. The very first lute they ever owned has a place before an altar for a statue of Mnemosyne. Whenever a new student comes in Meredith says a prayer to Mnemosyne in the student's honor to ask for her help in gaining new skills. Meredith tries to make it whenever they hear a student is going to have a performance. While it was never something they wanted, seeing a student perform gives them a sense of pride. Meredith's talents in playing were never that great, but their ear for pitch and to seek out talent is non-surpassed.

[✔] brave - Nikita is not one to shy away from something scary. Some might even call her stupidly brave. She'd stare down the barrel of a gun and think only of how to subdue her attacker.
[✔] funny - Her sense of humor might not be everyone's cup of tea, but she does like to tell jokes. She also teases and makes light of any situation. Nikita especially loves dark humor.
[✔] determined - When Nikita has a goal in mind, she will find a way to it. There will be no stopping her.
[✔] ambitious - It is good that she has determination because Nikita has a lot of goals in mind. She may not always reach them or keep them once she accepts they aren't realistic, but it won't be long before she comes up with a new goal to take the old one's place.
[✔] cheerful - There is hardly a thing that keeps Nikita down. Even when her father died she still was able to get right back to it.
[✔] affectionate - If Nikita likes you, you will know it. She is 100% down for showing her love and has a big heart to hold it all in.
[✔] compassionate - Nikita can sometimes come off as only caring about herself or her family, but she does feel the pliet of the less fortunate. She actually would never hurt anyone that can't defend themselves and doesn't allow her family to bully those already down. Nikita donates what she can when she can.
[✔] loyal - If you are a part of her father's gang, then you are Nikita's family. No ifs ands or buts. She would die for her family and anyone else she cares about.
[✔] confident - Nikita believes in herself and her family. She doesn't think there is a thing that could stand in their way.
[✘] cunning - Nikita and her underlings percieve this as a possitive thing, but most on the other side would belive this is negative. Nikita could easily convince a poor man of his coat despite having one on herself.
[✘] impulsive - Nikita will do many a thing without thinking. Or, if she does think, it'll be only to determine that her first thought was the best.
[✘] self-indulgent - She does not shy away from enjoying the things she likes. If Nikita sees someone cute, she will become obsessed with hanging out with them. If she wants a cake, she'll get herself cake. There is no denying herself.
Nikita was a Cache orphan that was lucky enough to be adopted by an older Imp who wanted desperately to have someone to pass his business on to. He looked through the stones and found his eye drawn to the red one. Red like passion. Red like strength. Red like blood. That one would do perfectly.
The Imp’s store provides charms and enchantments of protection. It usually sells to local stores but welcomes customers from all over if it is found. The store's "products" are well praised and always in high demand by the locals. Of course that's mainly because the streets around it are known to be the roaming grounds of two gangs; one that started in the gutter of those very streets and one that came crawling in trying to take over.
The local gang actually hasn't been that bad since their leader grew up. It was said it was started when he was just a kid who didn't like his family so he went around causing all kinds of chaos with his friends. This kid was very alluring so he ended up creating a rather large following of fellow childhood outcasts. They roamed the streets for years, long into their teenage years.They even made some money once they realized they could extort the business owners by promising not to break the windows in exchange for payments.
Then he grew up. He suddenly went into the shadows and stopped terrorizing the local stores himself. People said he was running for his life.
Because as news spread about this gang that thought they were bigger than life, another gang came in who wanted to usurp the leader and take over the stomping grounds. However, while the local's leader had gone into hiding, his gang had not. The gang managed to hold it's own and protect what was theirs.
That still didn't save the local stores from being broken into or harassment in the middle of the day. A lot of people were excited to see the Imp's charms & protections store open up in what had been an empty front for so long.
The local customers were shocked to see who was behind the counter but also knew better than to say anything. After all, he was protecting them from more than one gang now.
Nikita was raised to take over for her father when he finally steps down in to retirement. He is tired of fake smiles and commanding so much. Nikita is young and rearing to go. Her father was her favorite person in the world as he had raised her with love. And while he had never had a mate, Nikita had a huge family that helped raise her and teach her. She was even well loved by the community as she shined with cheerfulness and compassion. The young grimm had also been trained in many fighting skills and how to use the protection magic and make charms with it.
Nikita was ready to protect herself, her family, and her community.
but Goblins pretending to be good workers makes me think an Elf might embude with a Goblin out of developed feelings after the Goblin worked for their family but then the Patriarch of the Elf family is all "what the hell?" about Cheri's existance. Eventually she ends up "banished" to teh Academy where she grows up learning to love herself and ends up more intuned with the creative Goblin side of herself. (I don't think I ever came up with a job idea for her. xD She loves music and writing, that's all I got.)
