Grant Park is a large urban park (319 acres or 1.29 km²) in the Loop community area of Chicago. Located in Chicago's central business district, the park's most notable features are Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum Campus. Originally known as Lake Park, and dating from the city's founding, it was renamed in 1901 to honor Ulysses S. Grant. The park's area has been expanded several times through land reclamation, and was the focus of several disputes in the late 19th century and early 20th century over open space use. It is bordered on the north by Randolph Street, on the south by Roosevelt Road and McFetridge Drive, on the west by Michigan Avenue and on the east by Lake Michigan. The park contains performance venues, gardens, art work, sporting, and harbor facilities. It hosts public gatherings, and several large annual events.
The park is often called "Chicago's front yard". It is governed by the Chicago Park District.

Brown curly hair dyed a vibrant red bounced as the female walked along the parks path. It was a bit late into the night, perhaps around mid night? one would thing it was dangerous for one like her to be wondering alone, however it was how she preferred it. Nessa, the young woman, had long since learned to take care of herself. Unless someone was special they didn't stand much of a chance against her.
The silence of a late night stroll was a wonderfully thing. Her thoughts were for her and her alone. No one needed to interrupt her with mindless talking, or flirting. It became a bit of a bore after working in so many bars. At the moment, she didn't have a job. Nessa disliked staying in one place for too long. Because of this it also meant she could never get any decent jobs. Fortunately, she was quite easy on the eye so getting in as a waitress of some sort was fairly easy. Generally, she only worried about working if she needed the money. As of this moment, she had enough to enjoy some 'luxuries' for a week or so.
Although she had only been in Chicago for a few days, the city lived up to its namesake. It was The Windy City all right. Tonight though, the skies were calm.

Charlie had been quite the distance away at a cell phone store. He had seen they where selling out of a new phone so they would likely have lots of money where he could take some of it. The move here left him and his dad short for bills and food. He had figured out how much they would need plus a bit extra just in case the food had gone up in price. It was a clean plan he had even scouted a safe place to escape too. It was a smidgen risky distance wise it leave him out of energy to teleport again but this was the best bet. He knew there where going to be more supers in this big city so he had to make sure to get as far away as possible from the scene. He grabbed what he needed from the till and teleported to his safe spot. He had picked a tree for some immediate coverage. His appearing suddenly in the tree caused the tree to russle way more than the wind normally could. He had to catch himself a bit he hadn't expected the branches to be so steep. His taller lankiness made it a bit more difficult than he had imagined it would when he picked this tree earlier. He steadied himself and dropped from the tree. outfit with hood upAquos Dragoa nah its cool, reply when u can

For being a supposedly quiet day, one of the trees in front of her path rustled more than it was supposed too. Raising and eyebrow the female couldn’t help but wonder what was the cause. It couldn’t have been a squirrel, they were too small to make it move that much. Maybe a cat? Nessa still thought it was a bit small. Curious wasn’t it? She had been walking for a while with it in view although it was indeed dark as it was late in the night, Nessa could still see outlines of figures and objects from some distance thanks to the full moon above. Whatever caused it must have already been up in the tree dormant? Perhaps her approach had wakened or stirred the creature?
Answers to her thoughts and assumptions can quite quickly after the initial rustle. The creature or rather human, leaped down from the tree. What he would fail to notice was her presence smack in front of him just a yard or so away. Blinking she observed his composure, “innocence” was written all over him. Well it was a sarcastic thought. Nessa from his expression could see he was hiding or running from something or someone. She knew… for she has had that same look before on a few occasions. Still, why and how was he up in the tree? Maybe he had been up there for a long time?
“So what could you be in a hurry for?” Nessa asked with a sly like smirk while still pondering the possibilities. “Were you up there all day?” despite asking she was beginning to think the answer as no. It was just something about the way he moved and was dressed and pretty clean that made her think je had just been up there for a fraction of a minute.

'Well s**t" Charlie thought noticing the lady in the dark in front of him. While she had asked if he had been there all day. He had a feeling he was being bullshitted. "Um yea?..." He replied sounding a little like please believe this. He at most had expected a homless person who where more than happy too keep quiet when presented with montary reasons. This lady was too well dressed to follow that category. He could run but he was still unsure of he needed too that and he would only get so far, teleporting drained his stamina. If he could stall a bit he could just teleport away. He hopes she didn't want the money he had, he stole it for a reason outfit with hood upAquos Dragoa XD charlie is the only impatient one lol i can wait

Just as she suspected, he was guilty of something. Why else would have made such an expression after her questions? Smirking, her eyes twinkled mischievously. For some reason she was curious to what it was all about. Crossing her arms over her chest she eyed him up and down taking in every detail. He was holding onto something a bit possessively. "You aren't the best liar you know. You sound out of breathe for someone who had been laying about up in a tree. Also, it wouldn't have rustled as much if you were there laying, even when you dropped down." Nessa probably would have made quite the decent cop if she cared about society. Unfortunately for the world she didn't concern herself with others, especially regular folk. Not after her past. She was good at pretending she did, after all she was outnumbered and depended on stupid humans as a means of profit. "So the question is..." The female continued as she walked closer to him till she was a few inches from his face. "What are you hiding?" Pulling her face back so he could breathe a bit more relaxed she went on. "Oh, I don't particularly care what trouble you've gotten in or whatever is in the bag. I am merely curious. I can be a nosey person."

Charlie was admittedly unsure how to approach this situation. She had gotten fairly close to him trying to be intimidating, and it did partly work. Having grown up in quite the opposition to the law he had a decent idea to how cops work even the undercover ones, and she certainly didn't fit the bill. She was way too well dressed for the park to be her home. He decided to literally be honest and tell her perhaps the absurdity would confuse or distract her. "Well i was collecting some money and used the tree to hide my escape." He said matter of factly. He had already pulled up the goggles before he had exited the tree, he only used them to obscure his eyes for security camera but he still had his lower mask on. Besides he was new here and he mostly blended in with the rest of his high school it not like she be like omg it you, if she did he likely recognise her too. outfit with hood up

Her techniques worked, but then again he was but what a teen? He probably wasn't very familiar or comfortable around girls yet. Not that she was flirting with him, but it was always easier to get the uncomfortable ones to talk faster. "Collecting..." She repeated after him, her eyebrow raising obviously knowing what he meant instead, after all it was followed by the word escape. Shrugging it off as if it was something completely normal or what any one should be doing she spoke again. "It's a hard world. Sometimes people have it coming to them." She had little sympathy to how things work. Society and rules tended to be a pain. People were corrupt anyways so what was the point of it all? People who stayed clean and did as they were told only ended up getting used in the end.

Wait she wasnt going to demand part of it or try turning him in? Charlie didnt trust this. There had to be a catch, there always was. She didnt seem the press the matter of his sudden appearance in the tree. This also made him suspicious. She was taking it quite well. Prehaps he was being overly paranoid bit being that way has saved his hide in similar situations. He was determined to figure out what was up "So....did you have any other questions?" Charlie said trying to sound more confident. He was rested up enough at this point that he could teleport away but he didn't nessasrally want to use it in front of her. Perhaps she had noticed less than he thought. outfit with hood upAquos Dragoa how bought we have something near by blow up and they help out it be like a apprtment for older people for extra sympathy factor. Unless of course you plan nessa to become a villian. I plan for charlie to be more of the anti hero variety. If your down for than feel free to post that happening.

Now that Nessa had her answer she was quite frankly, a bit bored. She was aware of others, who like jer had powers, but this kid if he had any did not reveal them easily. However, perhaps it was best she did not get to involved or reveal her own strengths. After all, one never knew when a self proclaimed protector of main kind would come waltzing deeming others without the same code as “villians”. Just the thought of it made her mentally role her eyes every time. It was as if they were living in some comic book. Alas, life as much more complex. There is not just black and white but a lot of greys in the middle. Just as she had about made her mind to go on her merry way and leave him to his own devices, whatever those may be, a loud explosion was heard at the outskirts of the park. The force of it was enough to shake the ground where they stood. Bright colored flames light the background of the trees behind the boy. Now what in the world had just happened?
Her first instinct was to leave in the opposite direction. She somehow had a habit of getting blamed for any sort of explosion if she ever got near one. People were observant ungrateful little worms. Of she ever came out unscathed, fingers always ended up at her as the cause.

They were about to part ways when from behind Charlie had heard an explosion. Not exactly something you hear this time of night in this part of town. He turned to look and moved so he could see it was a hotel. Confused as to what in the hell could have cause a hotel like that one to explode Charlie suspected it might have been deliberate. Thing was though it blocked a lot of floors off for people to get out. Part of him just wanted to leave before the cops got there considering he was toting a small duffle bag with stolen money an buglry tools. But there was likely kids and older people in there, ones that would have trouble leaving. This was also in an area that be hard for fire trucks to get a good angle. "We should try and help if we can. Other wise the cops are going the be suspicious of us they usully are of anyone so close to a scene. We can have the cover of one of those random good Samaritans. Plus I dont want them to see whats in my bag" He said. He had a sense that this lady was like him in not being normal like everyone else. He took the bag off and tossed it into the tree where it could only be seen if you knew it was there. "If you dont mind black I got a spare mask." He said digging in to his pocket and grabbing his folded back up mask. outfit with hood up
