It was quiet in this particular part of the city, the quiet a stark contrast to the daytime when the shops bustled with passing trade.
However despite the quiet the streets weren't completely empty, even if the current occupant appeared to be a small cat trotting about its business..
Business that appeared to include nosing through some of the discarded junk.
And whilst on first glimpse the small tabby bobtail appeared to be ordinary enough, someone taking a closer look might have have noticed the jade green star set on its forehead or the way that the street lights glinted off jewellery worn on both tail and one of its front paws.xxKitomyx Hope this works as a start Kitomyx, lmk know if anything needs changing.

A certain Dark Mirror Senshi was wandering about the streets, looking for people for his mirrorwraith to gather some energy from, when he saw the gray tabby cat walking around on its own. This alone might not have piqued his interest, but the sight of the jade star on its forehead combined with its metallic jewelry - quite extravagant for any cat, even a domestic one - was enough to capture his full attention.
Ptolemaeus stepped out of the shadows and into the light of the street lamps himself so as to intercept the bold feline. He put his hands on his hips and leaned down to address it, beaming. "Hey there, kitty. Where are you off to at this hour? Isn't your owner worried about you?" he added, catching sight of the collar about the cat's neck.litian ((^_^ It's great! Thanks so much!))

Liryn paused as a set of sandalled feet stepped into direct view, although his purplish eyes didn't appear to be particularly surprised as he glanced up to take in the figure in front of him.
As it was Liryn wasn't particularly surprised - because he had caught the flare of chaotic aura - and had recognised it as belonging to a dark mirror senshi...
And whilst the small tabby mauvian wasn't generally really the fondest of chaos, the few dealings that he had had with those from the dark mirror court had always been okay.
Tantalus was a dark mirror senshi and Chariklo and Navi had both previously been part of the court and given that the other seemed to know that he was a mauvian there didn't seem much point in trying to play cat-cat.
"I don't have an owner per se" he said cheerfully, his voice friendly enough, because whilst he had friends and a roof to go home to - that wasn't enough to make him an 'owned' cat "And I guess you can say that I'm out on patrol."

"You don't? That's a fancy collar for a cat without an owner," Ptolemy mused. "I guess it's enough to keep you from being picked up as a stray, though."
Tilting his head, he asked, "On patrol? For what? Negaverse?" The senshi scratched his head. "If you found one, how would you deal with it?" He knelt down beside the cat to address him better. "Er...unless you're a Negaverse cat? Is that even a thing?"litian ((Sorry it's so short. XP))

"Hmm?" It was more sound of query than word. "I guess, although I've always had it."
Well at least he had ever since awakening to himself as a mauvian.
Liryn continued, the cheerfulness still in his voice "And I have a home" because he did have one, even if currently he was only really popping in to check on Lola.
He continued at the Dark Mirror's next question "Oh I have my ways of dealing with the Negaverse, but as it happens I'm on patrol for all sorts of things actually." Liryn didn't elaborate however and he didn't have any real plan too either...
And then Liryn found his eyes narrowing the other's next question, conveying just how deeply unimpressed he was in the form of the flat stare that he levelled at the other.
"Yes the Negaverse does have cats" he said, voice as flat as his stare "And whilst I know that we mauvians don't have much of an aura, my aura is nothing like a Negaverse aura."
If Ptolemaeus focused then he might have caught the small spark of aura that was Liryn's own - the aura small as it was unmistakably one of Order.
"Your aura is actually closer to that of the Negaverse - although it isn't exactly the same given that you're a Dark Mirror senshi."Kitomyx no need to apologise - have a huffy Liryn tag cat_smile

"Huh. Sorry, guess I still don't really know all that much about you guardian cats other than that you talk and probably know a lot more than I do about this whole cosmic war thing going on," he explained, chuckling sheepishly. "Seems like you felines like to keep it that way, though; acting all mysterious."
The cat's abrupt change in tone from cheerful to flat caused Ptolemaeus to blink in surprise before grinning. So even the guardians could lose their cool. He hadn't even realized he'd said anything that the cat could have taken as being offensive. Maybe he had been offended by the senshi's mere ignorance?
"Alright, alright, calm down," the teen suggested, putting up his palms in a display of surrender as he continued to grin. "Man, you guys really hate them don't you?" Perhaps the guardian had been insulted that he might even have been mistaken for being on his enemy's side. "Other than your aura, though, is there any way to tell the difference from Order cats and Negaverse ones?"
He smirked at being informed about his own chaotic aura and waved a hand dismissively. "I know, I know. I get a lot of flack about that from Order senshi and knights. The way I see it, though, Dark Mirror Chaos is like Chaotic Neutral while Negaverse is like Chaotic Evil. Because they've been corrupted and brainwashed by Metallia, of course; not because it's their own fault." He tilted his head at the cat. "I don't think anyone's pure evil - do you?
"Oh, I'm Sailor Ptolemaeus, by the way - Ptolemy for short. Dark Mirror Senshi of Change, at your service."

"Likening me as being part of the same organisation as the member that dared to stick their hand in my bonded's chest is not only insulting but also offensive" Liryn said as his purplish eyes continued to stare flatly at the Dark Mirror senshi. "Especially as members of that self-same organisation have hurt people important to me."
He continued to look up at the other before sighing as he added "And yes - just as senshi from the Negaverse and the Dark Mirror Court tend towards the darker colours, so do Negaverse mauvians - you can tell from the star."
Some of his huffiness faded slightly as the other continued to speak and for a moment there was a thoughtful look in his purplish eyes "I believe that there is the potential for good in everyone" he said at last. "But I am also well aware that there are people that do evil things - terrible things - and that they deliberately make the decision to do those things."
He paused to listen as the Dark Mirror senshi introduced himself before continuing "And I'm Liryn."
Whilst he generally follow up with a 'nice to meet you', Liryn was still reserving judgement on whether it really was.Kitomyx I should hopefully get a gdocs tag up for you later today :3

"Oh. Okay, well I can see why that might be upsetting to you," Ptolemaeus conceded, "but how was I supposed to know that? Also, you're being pretty broad by generalizing whole organizations by the actions of a single individual or two. Don't you think that's a little unfair?" He gestured vaguely with a hand. "Not that I doubt they have a main goal as whole, but there are always exceptions in the group. Some might even be nice."
He looked intrigued at the mention of darker colors. "Cool. I wonder how dark their colors have to be to be to qualify as a Negaverse. Like if there's a certain shade and anything darker than that counts. Or if the darkness of their color indicates how loyal they are to their alignment. Hm...wonder why the Dark Mirror Court doesn't have any Guardians."
The senshi raised his brows at the feline's statement that he believed there was the potential for good in everyone, but they dropped again when the cat continued. "Fair enough," Ptolemy answered, nodding. "Not that I've ever seen it happen, which is probably why I don't harbor the hostility toward them that you do, but maybe I will someday." Sighing, he got up and went over to sit on the edge of the sidewalk.
"Is your 'bonded' part of the Negaverse now, then?" he asked. "Or did you free them? If they were corrupted, wouldn't you be, too?"litian ((No rush~ Take your time. ^_^ <3))

Liryn's purplish eyes followed as the Dark Mirror senshi moved to sit on the edge of the sidewalk, however he didn't immediately respond to Ptolemaeus' questions instead opting to ask a question of his own.
"How long have you been a part of this Ptolemaeus?"
Because whilst the other had the aura of a basic senshi, Liryn knew that didn't necessarily mean that the other senshi was actually new.
"My first real skirmish with the Negaverse was when they decided to team up with some of Order in order to attack your Court" his purplish eyes were serious "My next was when I caught one of that organisation with their hand in my bonded's chest - it was part of a wider operation - which involved shutting down the city's power. That was followed up by them trying to invade a Knight's Wonder and that was followed up by them kidnapping a whole bunch of Order members and torturing them and worse."
His voice was flat as he continued "None of them were the actions of - as you put it - just an individual or two."
A pause "Although I'm not saying that Order has always been entirely blameless" because there was the mentioned attack on the Dark Mirror Court for starters and that without getting into the time where Prince Castor went and murdered a bunch of Negaverse Lieutenants.
"Nice Negaverse agents seem to be few and far between however" because Liryn certainly hadn't come across many "And no my bonded has always been part of Order, although I have come across those who were once Negaverse just as I know of those who were once of the Dark Mirror."
It was something that went both ways, although Liryn didn't think that he had to mention the last part.

The Dark Mirror Senshi took a few moments to consider the question he was asked. "A few months now," he said. "Around the end of April, I think, so not that long ago, I guess. I've met at least one Negaverse Lieutenant, though, and we're on good terms." Good enough that they'd accidentally revealed their true identities to each other, but the cat didn't need to know that.
"He said he got a hand stuck through his chest, too, and that it was painful. I can't seem him willingly doing that to anyone else, though." He paused. "Why? How long have you been a part of this?" He wondered silently how cats got awakened since he doubted it was in the same fashion as humans, but he thought it might have been too invasive to just ask right there and then.
"...What?" The Negaverse had teamed up with the Order? And to attack the Dark Mirror Court, no less? He didn't think he'd heard of this. Remarque had mentioned that there'd been an alliance between the Negaverse and DMC before, but he didn't remember hearing that the other two groups had teamed up against them. "Why?"
Invading, kidnapping, torturing...these were the terms Remarque had used before, the ones that had given Ptolemaeus the sense that it was some kind of war that was going on, but he still hadn't seen anything of the sort, so it was difficult for him to relate those things to reality.
However, if Liryn had seen it first-hand, of course it made sense he'd have such strong feelings against the other side. "I see." It astonished the Dark Mirror Senshi to hear the cat say his own alliance wasn't completely blameless, either. So, he wasn't completely one-sided about this whole thing.
"...You have?" Of all the surprising things he'd heard today, this had been, by far, the most surprising. "...You can change from being Negaverse or Dark Mirror? Remarque had told me something about us needing to convert White Moon Senshi to our side, but I didn't know we could change, too. Or that the Negaverse could be changed. Does it have to be by choice?"

"Maybe your Lieutenant is the exception." It was something that Liryn was dubious about, however given that he didn't know the Nega-Agent in question it was something that he had to acknowledge a possibility.
"But opting to go the hand in the chest route is a thing that a lot of them appear to have no problems with doing." Well at least not from his experience.
"And it's been three years or so for me" and whilst it was more than Ptolemaeus' self-confessed few months, Liryn was aware that some mauvians had been doing it for longer... Had awakened to themselves sooner.
The seriousness was still in purplish eyes when the other queried why the Negaverse had attacked the Dark Mirror, but some of the flatness had faded as he admitted "I don't know." It was something that he had never been able to find out...
Although it was perhaps not surprising given that he had been one of the Order members that had fought against the Negaverse and thus against some of their own.
But he had felt like he had to - because the whole thing hadn't been right.
"And yes people can change - it's called purification when people go to Order - but they have to be willing."
At least that was his take on it from what he'd seen. For a moment his thoughts drifted to a corruption he'd witnessed - of a Squire being turned to a Negaverse Captain.
"But whilst I can't speak for the Dark Mirror, I can tell you that the Negaverse can and do take people against their will."

"Wow...three years..." The teen tried to process all the information and store it carefully, reminding himself that even though this guardian was, as a guardian, probably more knowledgeable than most powered beings, there was still a great deal even he didn't know. Ptolemaeus supposed there was always the possibility that the cat was just choosing not to tell him things, but he couldn't see a reason why he wouldn't. Anyway, if the guardians also had sides, it wasn't as if one could be expected to know everything about all the factions.
"One of the older Dark Mirror members told me that our court doesn't take people against their will," Ptolemy stated. "He made it sound like only the Negaverse were able and willing to do that because of Metallia's brainwashing and corruption. He said if we wanted to convince others to join us, it would have to be their choice. So, at least in that way, we're different from the Negaverse." Maybe that wasn't something he should have so easily divulged, but after Liryn had told him so much about what he knew, it seemed only fair to return the favor as best he could. Not that he suspected there was much he knew that Liryn didn't.
"...I was told that the Dark Mirror Court is trying to do its best to protect the White Moon Court and their Knights from Metallia," he continued slowly. "but that we're not supposed to be so obvious about it lest the Negaverse notice and choose to eradicate us first since we're such a small faction compared to yours. I guess our court's idea of doing what's right is different from the White Moon, too, since the one I talked to said he thought Earth was pretty much doomed and the only hope we had of survival was to find some solution in Mirrorspace. Some other world where we could exist or something. But it sounded like the White Moon Court isn't willing to give up on Earth just yet. That right?"

Whilst Liryn had been pretty open in sharing some things with Ptolemaeus, there were - as it happened - some things that he had opted not to tell the Dark Mirror senshi.
However those things were things that were Order specific and as such meant that Ptolemaeus was wearing the wrong colours and bearing the wrong aura...
Because whilst Liryn's dealings with the Dark Mirror Court had been okay, his loyalties was primarily to Order.
Primarily - because not even his loyalties would stop the tabby mauvian from doing what he thought right - even if it did on occasion mean having to give those on his own side a good sharp n**.
Purplish eyes considered Ptolemaeus thoughtfully as the other mentioned that the DMC did not take those against their will before saying at last "That's good to hear."
And whilst he wasn't sure whether or not it was true, if it was true then it was good to hear.
His purplish eyes remained solemn as he continued to listen to Ptolemaeus as a part of him wondered if the Dark Mirror Court member that the other had mentioned had heard anything about the future that was not now.
It was a passing curiosity however and a question that remained unvoiced as he said "Well I'm not willing to give up on the Earth" in a voice that whilst having regained some of its cheeriness was still firm.

The senshi's dark brown eyes studied the cat's purplish ones when he heard the tone of his voice revert somewhat to the way it was before. He smiled at that.
"I'm glad to have met a guardian who isn't of the mindset that their faction is faultless and all others are bad. I mean with how long you've been doing things and as much as you've seen, I know you must realize people can change, whether in beliefs and ideas, factions, or both.
"But I've met others - an Order super senshi, in example - who was actually more adamant against those not in his faction because of what he'd seen and experienced, so I understand it's not a guaranteed thing." He shrugged. "I mean I guess he didn't even seem to realize that us Dark Mirror Senshi were different from the Negaverse, but the fact that he'd reached such a level and not bothered to learn the difference just goes to show how little he cared about factions other than his own, in my opinion. At least until I helped enlighten him."
Ptolemaeus crouched down to better address the feline. "You seem like you have and follow your own sense of morals rather than letting anyone or any group of people tell you what's right or wrong. I respect that." Craning his head back to the sky, he murmured, "Maybe if there are enough beings in all factions as open-minded as you, there's a chance they can all come to some mutual understanding someday and there won't be any more reason for these wars."litian ((Sorry for the delay! "Oh my loyalty is to Order" Liryn said - because when it came to it at the end of the day he was an Order cat. "But I won't let being part of Order stop me from doing what I think right."
And Liryn had rather firm personal notions on what he thought right.
He also knew that not everyone on the Order side thought the same way - just as he also knew that the secret war could take its toll on those involved.
But without knowing who the mentioned Super senshi was it was hard to know where he fit in to the myriad differences of opinion that made up the Order side.
And so Liryn gave Ptolemaeus a cat smile "Perhaps" adding "Although it's getting late and so I should probably be heading off for the evening."
Because he didn't want the make the twins he was staying with worry about him by coming back tooo late.
