FloodClan, as it exists in the beginning, is a melting pot of both DuskClan and DawnClan. The former cats of DuskClan are the restless, dissatisfied with a life spent half-underground. They are searching for the freedom of open air and less claustrophobic tunnels. The former cats of DawnClan are angry, frustrated that Stormstar was accepted by StarClan. They do not trust their leadership and tactics, and refuse to live under their leadership.
They also recruit rogues and loners, attempting to garner as much support as possible. They are hoping to have enough warriors to feed themselves through leaf-bare. They also want to train enough warriors to fight so that they can take some of the southern borders of both DuskClan and DawnClan and live outside the abandoned two-leg place.
For now, that is all that their territory is; abandoned two-leg nests as far as the eye can see. They choose one as a temporary camp, sleeping in one that has most of its roof still in tact so that they may avoid the elements. Thankfully, because of how long it seems the two legs have been gone, the abandoned nests are full of prey ripe for the taking.
(As FloodClan currently has no formal camp or territory, for right now all roleplaying for FloodClan will be occurring in this thread. I intend for FloodClan's territory and camp to be established by vote, so once that occurs, maps will be created for these areas and new threads established).

-->It is currently the end of leaf-fall, about to turn leaf-bare. It is late afternoon, on the night of a full moon. This will be the first gathering since the formation of FloodClan, so it has been a moon or less since any of the clan cats left their homes. Lynxstar is getting ready to announce who he'll be taking to the gathering. <--
Lynxstar still was not used to many things. Waking up in a two-leg den was one of the worst. Hunting in between the abandoned structures was not... As bad. Leading his new clan? That was both terrifying and invigorating. On one hand, he enjoyed making the calls, setting patrols, and being the one his cats trusted to lead them. On the other, the lives of so many innocent cats were now in his paws... If he were to fail...
Lynxstar shook his head, hard, to shake the thought away. Failure was not an option. StarClan accepted his leadership, gave his clan a name. This was part of their will. He couldn't just give up now. He roused from his shared nest with Cloverstram quickly, before padding across the room. Nightpaw was still fast asleep, nose tucked under his tail. Lynxstar prodded him awake.
"Mmyeah?" The cat finally mewed, blinking sleepily.
"Come on, Sunshade is going to want to go out with you soon." He replied, before padding over to Skychase and Ripplepool. The brothers had began to stir at the exchange, both nodding in greeting as he approached. "When both of you have woken up more, I want you to head out and check the border, to be safe. When you've finished, try to bring back some fresh kill." The two toms gave their assent, so Lynxstar padded over to his own apprentice to nudge her awake, then waited for her by the door.
After some extensive battle training, Lynxstar felt a little more confident in Leafpaw. She was a talented young cat, which Lynxstar had known since they were in DawnClan. Getting to work with her and test her strength was a privledge he enjoyed. She was nearly perfect, but he wanted her to spend more time in the clan before he gave her her warrior name. Besides, having two apprentices training in his clan would make them look more legitimate. It was going to be the first time he faced DawnClan since leaving, and the first time FloodClan would attend a gathering at all. He hoped StarClan would aid him, somehow.
"Come on, that's enough for today. You're doing very well. Let's get some hunting done and then go home." He decided, shaking himself from his negative thoughts.
Lynxstar brought down a squirrel and a jay, letting Leafpaw hunt on her own and waiting to see what she could catch. If she needed it, he would be there to help her adjust her stance or balance. They padded back to their temporary camp to see how things fared there.
--~--
Woken early by their new leader, Ripplepool and Skychase patrolled along their 'border'. They were too far from the clans' edge to scent who had been by, but there were clear scent marks in the distance. So far, it seemed, the other clans had not noticed where it was the 'rogue' cats had decided to stay.
With that, they got under way hunting, splitting off to cover more ground. Darting between two-leg nests, Skychase followed the scent of a rabbit. The open air ruffled his pelt, and he felt the same satisfaction he'd first enjoyed as he snuck out of the camp for what he knew would be the last time. There were no narrow tunnels here, no suffocating darkness to confuse him. He could navigate with his eyes instead of his nose. To him, this was the way cats were meant to live.
He caught sight of his target, nibbling on some of the remaining grass behind a den. Skychase crouched low, careful that he remained upwind. He prowled carefully to his target, leaping and delivering a killing blow just as it perked to alertness. Pleased, he lifted his catch, padding to where he'd promised to meet Ripplepool; his brother was waiting with two mice and a vole. Together, they padded back to camp, finding themselves having returned before Lynxstar. They both settled off to the side with a mouse each.
--~--
Cloverstream woke to an empty nest and a quiet camp. She sighed softly to herself at the sight. She stood, feeling her belly sway under her as she did. Just that seemed to drain all of her energy, and she couldn't help but feel grateful that soon she would have her kitting. At least then she would be tripping over her kits instead of herself!
She stretched slowly, sinking her claws into the remains of the odd moss that lined the floors of the den. It was pale blue in color, and soft to the touch, but impossible to claw up and use for their own nests. Instead, they had to use the long grasses from outside and the downy fur remains from prey to warm their nests. She padded around slowly, checking the abandoned nests, making sure they were clean. Those that needed it she re-lined with scraps of fur they'd held onto for just such a thing.
When she was finished, the padded just outside the den to sit in a patch of sunshine. She raised her tail in greeting with Skychase and Ripplepool returned, watching them pass with interest. She couldn't help but selfishly hope that they would leave the rabbit. Maybe, when Lynxstar returned, they'd be able to share it.

 floodclαn αpprєntícє ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Lynxstar ᴏᴏᴄxx First post! And gah, I do not like coding in guilds, it is so picky and dumb >.< xxx◢ Leafpaw batted the paw that prodded her side by reflex, rolling away from the offending cat that dared wake her at this ungodly hour. But when the paw didn't relent she cracked one eye open, a snappy reply on the tip of her little tongue. Oh, it was Lynxstar... It was Lynxstar! The sight of her leader and brand new mentor caused her to jump to her feet suddenly, but in her haste misjudged her footing and the top of her head collided squarely with Lynxstar's jaw. "Yowch!" The smaller-than-average she cat held a up a paw to rub her head, before bowing it apologetically. "Sorry, Lynxstar." Her ears drooped slightly and she tensed subconsciously for the verbal abuse she'd learned to expect from her previous mentor, Stormstar. What's he waiting for?
But his response surprised her, and she was quickly ready and at his heels for whatever he had in mind for her today. When he mentioned battle training she stiffened slightly as she couldn't help but remember her very first lesson with Stormstar and the pounding she'd taken from him both physically and verbally. He's not him. she chided herself softly, wanting to show her new leader that she was worthy member of his new clan. Taking a wide stance, Leafpaw kept her centre of gravity low to the ground. At the very least, training with Stormstar had helped her learn how to take on cats many times her size. Which to be honest was most cats because she was so tiny, but that was beside the point. She stood on her hind legs and got a few good boxes at his ears before she was pinned to the floor of the old Twoleg nest. Going limp for a second she was able to escape his hold and managed to get a successful jab at her mentor's side before the surprise of her own success allowed him an opportunity to knock her off her paws. It knocked the wind out of her, but instead of continuing like Stormstar would have Lynxstar kindly offered a respite and asked if she'd like to go hunting instead.
The little she-cat much preferred this aspect of warrior life, and soon returned with a plump vole. She couldn't help but notice her mentor's mind seem to wander, but she could imagine he had a lot on his mind. Leafpaw dropped her vole onto the top of the fresh kill pile and perched herself near the entrance to wait for a certain goofy golden warrior to appear with her fellow apprentice. Leafpaw was glad there was another apprentice besides her, though she didn't know much about him. When the two returned, Leafpaw decided to ask Nightpaw if he'd share a piece of fresh kill with her, hoping they could be friends.
  floodclαn wαrrior ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Nightpaw ᴏᴏᴄxx ... xxx◢ Sunshade opened his eyes to the early light from fitful dreams of rebellion. His own, to be exact. That night was burned into his memory, for two reasons. The first was that for the first time in his life he found himself on an opposite side than his brother's. He and Stormstar and fought as a team their entire lives, it almost felt wrong to stand against him now. Though he knew in his heart it was even more wrong to let his brother do what he planned on doing. The second reason that night was so important was much more painful. The way her scent had washed over him and her voice had reached his ears for the first time in moons. Bluefoot the name of his former mate still pricked his heart with pain, but he noticed over time the pain had dulled somewhat. Still, he was glad she'd been one from StarClan to warn him about Stormstar's plan to kill Lynxstar when he was still Lynxfire, before he could receive his nine lives at Moonstream. Sunshade had gathered a patrol and faced his brother before he could strike the deathblow to the new leader.
Shivering from the memory, Sunshade sat up and looked around the camp. Well, 'camp' may have been a little generous considering it was still just an enclosed clearing strewn with haphazardly made nests. But it was sheltered and FloodClan would make it work. This is home now Stretching, the long-haired tom kneaded the ground with his long claws to work the stiffness from his body before starting a day's work. Padding over to where his apprentice had just been prodded awake by Lynxstar, Sunshade dipped his head in respect to his departing leader before addressing the dark furred apprentice. "'Morning Nightpaw. I think you and I should work on making this place a place a bit more homey. We can start by building some more enclosed dens. This place is sheltered but with leaf bare coming we'll be happy for the extra padding on the walls." Sunshade would recruit some other cats when more of the clan had begun to stir. "'Elders and Queens get priority, they need to stay warm and dry the most." He looked at the young cat who Lynxstar had accepted into Floodclan despite his non-clan origins. Stormstar would have never let any cat like Nighpaw into DawnClan, but from what Sunshade had seen he was a upstanding apprentice who had a good chance of being a talented warrior someday. Guess you aren't right about everything after all, brother.
Sunshade and his apprentice set to work gathering materials to build dens, beginning with a large den to house both elders and queens until they could get to work on building more. Sunshade went to collect a thick branch he'd just cut at the edge of the forest when movement caught the corner of his eye. Curious, Sunshade dropped to a hunter's crouch and stalked up to a corner of the clearing. Please be a starling, please be a starling. The rustling stilled for a moment and the tom froze midstep as a bushy tail emerged from the foliage and a pair of sassy brown eyes met his, followed by a high-pitched chitter. SQUIRREL!!!! All caution to the wind the tom pounced into the bushes. This was followed by a series of loud crashes and breaking branches and an angry yowl of "I hate you and your attitude!"
Several moments later Sunshade emerged from the bushes, a disgruntled-looking squirrel hanging limp from his maw. Nightpaw couldn't have possibly missed that but Sunshade was too triumphant over his nemesis to mind what his apprentice thought of that display. The tom just didn't like squirrels for some reason. The two made their way back inside and Sunshade added the fresh-kill to the pile in the center of the camp just in time to hear a familiar tiny she-cat ask his apprentice if he wanted to share a meal with her. "Hi there Leafpaw. And go ahead if you want to Nightpaw, you've earned a break." It was true, he and Nighpaw had managed to build a makeshift den for Cloverstream. It could use some reinforcement, but the basic structure was there and ready to be lined with soft things for the new queen and her kits.

Lynxstar could not stop the 'mrow' of laughter that bubbled out of his throat at his apprentice's reaction to being woken up. As much as he should probably be annoyed that his chin was now sore, he couldn't help but be amused at how fast she had tried to respond to him waking her.
"Are you alright, Leafpaw? No need to apologize, it seems I'm the one that startled you, after all. Come on, let's get going." Outside in the morning sunshine, Lynxstar got a good chance to see what Leafpaw had learned with Stormstar. She came at him ruthlessly, battering his ears thuroughly before he could work through his surprise enough to pin her to the ground. Still, she managed to squirm away and give him another swift jab. It put him more on his guard, keeping him moving while hje waited for his chance. He found it eventually, managing to finally knock his apprentice off her feet.
"Well done! You learned quite a bit with Stormstar. You're already quite the fighter, you even surprised me with your strength." He complimented as they took a break. When he was sure she had caught her breath, he lead her to hunt, and when they finished he let her return to camp, trailing not far behind and depositing his kill after she did. Seeing Sunshade return with Nightpaw, he nodded at the two in greeting before Nightpaw scampered off with Leafpaw.
"You and Nightpaw got quite a lot done today. Thank you. It's starting to look a little more homey in here with an actual den prepared." Lynxstar couldn't help but purr, relieved their home was starting to look more like they were actually building something here. "Don't forget to get some fresh kill for yourself. We'll all need our energy for the gathering tonight." With that said, he padded back over to the fresh-kill pile, plucking up the rabbit he could almost smell his mate longing for and carrying it over to her.
"Now that's the way to greet me!" Cloverstream teased, rubbing her cheek against Lynxstar's and purring. The two settled down together, sharing the rabbit and discussing Leafpaw's training. As much as Lynxstar hated to admit it, Stormstar had trained her well; Leafpaw would be a challenging warrior to face. She needed a little improvement, but Stormstar was already certain it wouldn't be long before he gave her her warrior name.
~~~
"Good morning, Sunshade. That sounds cool!" Nightpaw mewed, bouncing on his toes to wake himself more. 'How do you build a den, though?' he wondered. He'd really only ever slept where he could find a dry spot - even the concept of a nest was still pretty new to him. Dens? He supposed he was going to learn.
Learn he did, helping Sunshade to twine brambles, sticks, and long pieces of grass, until they had made a dome in one of the dryer corners of the two-leg nest. Nightpaw was honestly impressed. Cats, building nicer looking homes then even two-legs could! Pleased with the structure e'd helped to build, he followed Sunshade outside once more, pausing when he saw his mentor drop into a crouch. He watched, flinching slightly at all the noise his mentor made in the chase, and purring at his silly remark in regards to his prey's behavior.
"Wow! Nice catch, Sunshade! It sounded like it gave you trouble, but it didn't stand a chance, huh?" Nightpaw asked as they padded back to camp. He nodded his thanks at Sunshade's dismissal once inside, waving his tail politely at Lynxstar before padding over to join his fellow apprentice.
"Thanks Leafpaw!" He mewed, sitting alongside her, "How'd your day go?"
 floodclαn αpprєntícє ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Nightpaw ᴏᴏᴄxx ... xxx◢ Leafpaw watched her mentor take a fat rabbit to his very pregnant mate with a soft purr. Everyone here was so kind to one another, it was almost like the very air they breathed was different than the air at DawnClan. I love this place already she thought as she curled her tail around her paws. Her poise was broken with a loud rumble of her stomach. Nggg, where are they? Leafpaw's green eyes scanned the entrance for a familiar golden coat. Finally she caught sight her former DawnClan but now FloodClan clanmate and his dark furred apprentice. "Hiya Sunshade!" The big tom had always been friendly towards her, and never treated her like she was different like her other clanmates and ex-mentor did. But that said she didn't know about him since he was kinda goofy for a warrior-- she was glad Lynxstar had chosen her to be his apprentice instead.
"Nightpaw, hi! I was just gunna grab some fresh kill, want to share with me?" She tried to play the question off casually, but the hopeful look in her eye was hard to miss. She hardly had any friends in DawnClan, and none of them were ever around her age. The other apprentices all treated her like she was below their level, not worth their time. When Nightpaw agreed to share a meal with her she didn't seem to hear him, speaking quickly. "ButIgetthatyourtiredIcanjusteatbymyself... Wait, did you just say yes?" The she-cat's expression was almost heartbreakingly surprised he'd agreed, but the switch was instant. "...Oh! Okay awesome! How do you feel about squirrel?"
Sometime later the two apprentices were settled in a sunny spot taking turns biting off a piece of the squirrel Sunshade had added to the pile earlier. "--And then I ducked down like this." The little she-cat reenacted the scene of this morning's training session for her one cat audience, speaking around a mouthful of food. "But then he saw me coming and dodged and I lost my balance. So that's when he swept my legs out and I fell... like this!" She threw herself down dramatically on a soft pile of moss, her mrrow of laughter loud enough to disturb some elders nearby. "Hehehe, sorry! But anyways Nightpaw, what did you and Sunshade do all day?"
The she-cat shook the moss from her pelt and settled back down beside her newest friend, finishing her part of the squirrel and licking her paws clean while he shared his day with her. "Do you think Lynxstar's going to take us to the Gathering tonight?" The little cat's eyes were as big a saucers at the mention of the Gathering. She had never been permitted to attend one but maybe as a FloodClan cat she'd get her chance.
  floodclαn wαrrior ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Nightpaw ᴏᴏᴄxx ... xxx◢ Sunshade noticed the blank look that crossed his apprentice's face when he mentioned building a den. It was understandable, given the apprentice's background not involving clan life whatsoever. But he kept his reaction to himself, not wanting to treat Nightpaw any different than the two DawnClan apprentices he'd trained previously. "See, the only problem here Nightpaw is I'm getting pretty old." The tom was actually still quite young and spry, but he played up his stiffness for the benefit of the younger cat. "So I'm going to have to remind myself of the basics of building dens." The tom led his apprentice over a thick bramble bush. "I want the dens to be strong but we need to weave branches so they have to be flexible, too." The cat waved his thick tail at a patch of thin brambles that were hardly taller than he was. "What about these ones?" The tom accepted the apprentice's dissent with a thoughtful nod. "You're right, they're no good. Why don't you try and see if you can pick something out?"
The tomcat continued subversively teaching his apprentice lessons like this in an effort to build his confidence and knowledge of clan life without embarrassment. And then when the squirrel interrupted their lesson he accepted the younger cat's mixed praise on his hunting style when it came to these pesky rodents. "Squirrels are the worst. I can't stand their sass." he said with clear disdain before a slight chuckle broke his feigned stoniness. When the two arrived back at camp he dipped his head in greeting to his leader. "Thanks Lynxstar, it was like an itch I couldn't scratch to know Cloverstream and the Elders were sleeping out in the open. She's doing the heavy lifting around here anyway, making sure FloodClan's first kits are happy and healthy." The long haired warrior made sure his apprentice was settled with a shared piece of fresh kill before collecting a mouse for himself. His paws felt tired from his day's work but his thoughts were far away, wondering how his brother and former clanmates were faring.
Lynxstar enjoyed his meal with his mate slowly, closing his eyes for a moment and trying to pretend that all was well. That they were far beyond this stage - that FloodClan was strong and steady, an un-shakeable force in the wild. That they were respected, their ranks and bellies full.
In reality, that time was far off. But when he opened his eyes and looked over the cats that were his new clan, he had hope that perhaps such a time was closer then he feared. Still, there was something he had to tend to. He glanced over at Sunshade, feeling a pang of guilt that the other tom looked so exhausted. He hoped he was not asking too much too soon, especially with his plan for tonight. Lynxstar gathered the remains of his meal, running the remains outside to the dirtplace so that they would not stink up their current camp. When finished, he padded up to Sunshade.
"Sunshade, come with me a moment? There's something I would like to discuss with you, privately." Lynxstar mewed softly, leading the way back outside the den, heading a few tail lengths away to avoid them being overheard. He sat down, trying to relax even as Sunshade did join him outside.
"Tonight, before the gathering, I would like to name FloodClan's deputy to the rest of the clan. I've thought long and hard about it, and the only cat I can even think to ask is you, Sunshade. You have proven loyal, gracious to every cat in the clan, and you have limitless initiative. Would you be willing to take on the position?" Lynxstar felt he owed the tom at least some warning, before springing the news on to him. If Sunshade refused, he would find another cat, though sadly the rest of his options were woefully unqualified. He waited for his clan mate's answer while trying not to look as anxious as he felt.
~~~
Nightpaw was happy to share the squirrel with Leafpaw, savoring every bite. So much better then the skinny mice he used to catch for himself, and definitely more tempting then the hard pellets he used to eat back in he two-leg den. He purred as she told her story, watching as she finally flopped onto her side as she finished.
"Battle training sounds like so much fun! I can't wait until I can really get into that with Sunshade! That's really cool you held your own against Lynxstar for a while!" Nightpaw mewed, ignoring the elder's protests for now.
"Sunshade and I built the den for the queens and elders today! It was actually pretty fun, and Sunshade was really nice about taking his time to teach me how to find the best stuff to built them out of. It's just... I don't know, you're probably used to it, but I just think it's so cool that the clans learned how to build stuff! I would have never thought of that on my own. I guess that sounds kinda dumb-kittypet though, huh?" Nightpaw replied, ears folding down a little. To a cat who had done this her whole life, it had to seem silly, right? He couldn't help but be kind of embarassed that building a den was what had him so excited, especially when Leafpaw had such a cool story about her day training with Lynxstar. Shaking his head to clear it from his self-deprecating tangent, he tried to think. The gathering had been the talk of the clan for a few days now. He could still hardly believe there were two more clans in the forest, and that they would all be gathering in one place tonight!
"I don't know if he'll want to take me, but I'm sure he's going to want to show off his apprentice to all of the clans, so you'll probably go!" He finally replied, not wanting her to feel discouraged, with as obvious as it was that going meant something to her. Nightpaw couldn't help but hope that one day he would get to go to a gathering as well. "And I mean, if only one of us gets to go, at least we'll be able to come back and tell each other what happened, right?"

 floodclαn αpprєntícє ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Nightpaw ᴏᴏᴄxx ... xxx◢ Leafpaw flashed a toothy grin at her clanmate's praise. "Thanks Nightpaw! Sunshade doesn't seem like it but he's actually a pretty good fighter. But you can tell he doesn't like it. He's pac... paci.... He doesn't like fighting." she finished, not remembering the word for it. She knew her friend was in good paws though, as even Sunshade knew that sometimes fighting was necessary. Though to be honest, Leafpaw could understand his aversion to it, as she herself had been whipped into shape by Stormstar and hardly had a good time of it.
"To be honest, you probably know more stuff about that then me now" Leafpaw admitted about Nightpaw's lesson in den building. "See, by the time I was born DawnClan had all their cushy dens made and ready to sleep in already-- I've never done anything like that before" Leafpaw swiveled around to look at the shelter her fellow apprentice had built. "Great job Nightpaw, I bet Cloverstream's pretty happy she'll have a warm place to sleep tonight" The she-cat purred, proud her clanmates were helping each other.
Her lighthearted mood broke slightly when he mentioned Lynxstar wanting to take her to the Gathering. "Uh, I dunno... Maybe it's better if I just stay here." She suddenly found a rock on the ground very interesting. She'd dreamed of attending a Gathering as a warrior someday, but being told all her life she was never going to be good enough didn't make her feel worthy of being shown off to anyone. "I hope if one of us goes it's you, Nighpaw. You're going to be a way better warrior than me." She said it without any kind of bitterness, just with a resignation and a deep longing that filled her small frame.
  Flσσdclαn wαrrior Dєputч ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Lynxstar ᴏᴏᴄxx ... xxx◢ Sunshade had hardly tasted his meal, his mind so wrapped around DawnClan in light of the Gathering tonight. Part of him wanted to go and see his old clanmates, but another, slightly more rational part of him knew that Stormstar would use any opportunity presented to him to hurt FloodClan at this Gathering. Sunshade knew his presence would magnify this effect by several orders of magnitude. And am I really so proud to think that my being there could protect FloodClan from anything he'd do to hurt us? Wanting to protect the new clan was important to him, and if he could do that by being absent then perhaps that was the right thing to do.
His thoughts were interrupted as his leader approached him. "Of course Lynxstar, I was just finishing up anyway." Taking a second to polish off his meal and clean his paws he followed his leader. Despite himself, he couldn't help but quickly skim through a running mental list of all the things he could have done now. No, that was a while ago... Nah, that wasn't that bad, and it was a complete accident... Hmmm, he couldn't have found out about that already, could he? The tom's attention snapped back to his leader when he mentioned naming him as FloodClan's deputy. WHAT? Me? His thoughts trailed off as the other tom met his gaze evenly. He had defended him from his own brother, and he trusted his judgement. He wouldn't question Lynxstar's decisions now, his own self doubt aside. Sunshade dipped his head to him respectfully. "Thank you, Lynxstar. You and this clan are my family now, my kin. I will do my best to become a deputy worthy of FloodClan."
Lynxstar had made the decision for him. He was going to the Gathering, as a deputy no less. But part of him was relieved that the decision was made, like StarClan itself had willed him to face his brother again, under the light of a full moon. Whether or not Stormstar would respect the truce the entire night however, was something not even StarClan could know.

M O O N P O O L ⇡⇡ F L O O D C L A N ⇣⇣ M E D I C I N E C A T ⇡⇡ F E M A L E Moonpool started awake, her fur ruffled in agitation. Once again her sleep had been invaded by nightmares. They didn't feel like anything sent by starclan though. Just brought about by her own anxieties and stress. Shaking herself off the she-cat listened to the sound of her clan moving around outside her den. One set of footsteps slowly grew closer and a purr grew in her throat. She could tell by the pawsteps who it was even before she smelled the tom's scent. "Hello Moonpool" Sharptalon meowed as he pushed his way into the alcove she had chosen for her den "I hope I didn't wake you. I just wanted to come by and see if you needed any help" he offered, padding over to the blind cat and placing his tail on her flank to let her know where he was. Sharptalon had been even more protective of her since they moved and honestly she was a bit grateful. In the Dawnclan camp she could get around easily even without her sight. Here however everything was new and she was still learning how to navigate. "Hello Sharptalon. You didn't wake me at all. I was actually just about to head over to the nursery to check on Cloverstream and Blossom if you wouldn't mind helping me over there?". "Of course" he replied, Standing and putting his tail on her shoulder
The pair exited the den and with Sharptalon's help Moonpool made it over to what they were calling the Nursery in no time "Thanks sharptalon. I should be fine now" She mewed, purring her thanks before making her way over to the queens. She could smell Blossom still inside the den but it seemed Cloverstream was out and had already eaten "Hello Cloverstream, how are you feeling this morning?" she asked, smiling and sniffing the air. She smelled only the healthy scent of queen and the faint smell of their leader. Lynxstar must have come by earlier. Not surprising in the slightest.

However he respected her strange customs about not taking a mate and satisfied himself in making sure she was taken care of and safe in this new camp. It had to be hard, especially with her blindness.
Rolling his shoulders Sharptalon took a small vole and padded off to where Riplepool and Skychase were laying eating their meal. "Morning Skychase, Ripplepool. Looks like you did well on your early morning hunt." He said, setteling next to them "So how do you think the gathering tonight is going to go?" he asked, taking a large bite of his vole

With a screech he woke, scrambling to get out from underneath her. Owlpaw rolled off, laughing even as she was tackled "You stinker, I could flay you!" He growled. Owlpaw laughed and slipped out from beneath his paws "Only if you caught me first!" She darted out of the apprentice's den
Hawkpaw quickly tackled her, sending the pair into a mock fight outside the den that only finished once both were covered in dust and panting heavily. Purring they headed over to the freshkill pile, grabbing a squirrel to share and joining Leafpaw and Nightpaw.

His sister teased, flicking him with her tail "Sit down Hawkpaw, you know there is no fighting allowed at the gathering and with that kind of attitude I highly doubt Lynxstar would want you coming at all" she finished, rolling her eyes and taking another bite. Hawkpaw grumbled but lay back down, starting to groom his agitated fur.

But Rosepaw was thrilled to do it because not once as she worked did any of the elders tell her how Foxstar used to do this every day or that Windrunner had been able to get ticks off without any discomfort. Finally after removing the last tick Rosepaw pulled away, purring ."Done!" She mewed happily "Is there anything else you need?" she asked praying she could just go wash her paws. She was lucky and the elders seemed to sense her discomfort and let her go.
She grabbed the gross pile of moss, dropping it back off in Moonpools den before darting out of the camp to a near by stream. She raised her tail in greeting to Ripplepool and Skychaser as she passed, however she didn't stop. Soon she was standing almost belly deep in water, her claws sinking into the mud as she let the water clean her fur. She even dipped her muzzle in, letting the water run over it for a minute. Once she could run her tongue over her fur without tasting anything she was satisfied and made her way back to camp.
She wasn't hungry, the taste of mouse bile to fresh on her tongue but she did feel like socializing. She noticed nightpaw and the other apprentices all sitting around chatting so she made her way over, purring a greeting "Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind if I join you" she mewed, sitting down and beginning to groom her still soaking fur. It was uncomfortable and wet but better than mouse bile

A R T E M I S ⇡⇡ R O G U E ⇣⇣ W A R R I O R ⇡⇡ F E M A L E Artemis looked out through the window of the upper story of the house her small group had claimed as it's own. She was watching the other cats mill around underneath in the street below. They were a strange bunch. All feral and wild. They seemed pleasant enough though. After a somewhat rocky start the two groups had been living rather peacefully. She could see the appeal of having a group of cats that large you could depend on and trust. However it seemed too good to be true, and there were too many rules
Hopping down from the windowsill Artemis made her way downstairs, nodding to Her brother and his mate as she passed. On he lower level she found Ghost and Spirit play fighting amused, she watched for a minute before flicking her tail "Come on you two, lets go do some hunting." The two eagerly hopped up and followed her outside.
Leading them away from the houses now occupied by cats Artemis took them to one of the most run down building that was always full of fat mice and rats. It wasn't long before they had enough kills to feed their family. Artemis began to turn away but Ghost called out for her to wait. She turned, confused "We need to hunt a bit more" He mewed. Dropping her plump rat and mouse she tilted her head "Why, we have enough food for the day. We can hunt more tomorrow. We don't want it spoiling" She went to pick her kill back up but Ghost stood his ground. " No".
A P O L L O ⇡⇡ R O G U E ⇣⇣ W A R R I O R ⇡⇡ M A L E Apollo had woken when he heard Artemis moving around in the other room. He looked up as she passed and raised his tail in greeting to her. She just purred and nuzzled against him "You were sleeping right along with me, don't try and deny it." She purred. In response he only continued to groom her fur. This was thwarted however when Blossom stood and stretched "I'm going to go see Cloverstream and talk with her for a while" She mewed "Why don't you go make yourself useful and see if you can hunt down some more blankets for our bedding" He grumbled but a swat on the nose with her tail sent the tom scurrying playfully away, her laughter ringing in his ears as he went off to search for more soft blankets.
B L O S S O M ⇡⇡ R O G U E ⇣⇣ Q U E E N ⇡⇡ F E M A L E Blossom watched her mate bounce away, purring affectionately. Once he was out of sight she made her way slowly and uncomfortably downstairs. It took a while but was worth it as she felt the fresh breeze ruffle her fur. Looking around she easily spotted Cloverstream and Moonpool. Perking her ears she awkwardly made her way over. Purring a greeting "Good afternoon Cloverstream, Moonpool. I hope you both are well today." She mewed, letting out a huff as she laid down next to the other queen. This was her third kitting so she wasn't worried, but to be honest with how much Cloverstream raved about medicine cats she was certainly happy to have the blind she car around to help when the time came .
S P I R I T ⇡⇡ R O G U E ⇣⇣ A P P R E N T I C E ⇡⇡ F E M A L E Spirit watched tensely as her brother and Artemis stared each other down. She knew Artemis would never hurt them. She loved them more than anything but she also knew the she cat could be a bit testy sometimes. She eyed her brother, wondering what was going on in his head "No?" Artemis asked, her lips curling back slightly. Spirit tensed but Ghost looked unruffled "The clan cats say you need to get enough food to feed not only your kin but your clan. We don't have enough yet" Spirit's ears folded back but Artemis relaxed, rolling her eyes. "Ghost they aren't our clan. They are just cats we are living near for the moment. We are your clan, not them" Ghost drooped a bit but continued staring her down "Yea well... they are helping mom with her kitting, and they have been helping us learn to hunt better..we owe them something" Spirit fully disagreed of course. They didn't owe these strange cats anything. They came into their territory and took over some of it. It was enough they weren't chasing them off. Artemis seemed to mull over Ghost's words though and sighed "I suppose you are right" Spirit hissed but Artemis raised her tail "They have helped us, the least we can do is return the favor. We will hunt for a bit longer" Ghost instantly jumped up, mewing with delight and racing off while Spirit followed after him, a little more grumpy.
G H O S T ⇡⇡ R O G U E ⇣⇣ A P P R E N T I C E ⇡⇡ M A L E Ghost was thrilled, not only had Artemis listened to him, she had agreed. He couldn't stop purring as he made his way back to their hunting grounds. He could tell by her posture Spirit was less than pleased but that was just because she hadn't seen all the other cats had to offer and what they had done for them yet.
The young tom threw himself into hunting, managing to catch two more mice by the time he was finished bringing his total to four. Spirit, though not eager to participate, had caught a dove that had been fluttering around outside. She was in a much better mood now after her kill and how proud Artemis had been of it.
The trio returned, their jaws heavy with prey. Ghost noticed the eyes on them as they passed the other clan cats but as clan code said, you take care of your clan before all else. The cats dropped their kills off in the house they chose as their own before sorting through them. They decided that Apollo and Blossom could share the plump squirrel Artemis had caught, Spirit and Ghost would have a mouse each and Artemis would have the rat. With that sorted they left their small pile in the house and brought the other three mice and dove back outside. Ghost didn't flinch under the curious looks and instead, placed the kills on the pile. "Wait here, I am going to go talk to Lynxstar" Artemis meowed before making her way over to where the tom was talking to another cat Ghost recognized as Sunsomething? Shade maybe. These cats all had such weird names.
He and spirit moved a bit away from the pile, sitting with their tails curled around them and looking at the clan. Ghost couldn't help but watch the small group of cats that looked about his age all talking together.

Nightpaw nodded along as Leafpaw spoke. "I'm sure when he thinks I'm ready he'll be a great teacher!" He couldn't imagine what it would be like to be properly trained how to fight, but Leafpaw made it sound like the sessions were physically taxing without being too bad. Hopefully he would get the hang of it quickly.
"Well, there will be plenty of time to practice, right? I can show you what Sunshade showed me!" Nightpaw replied in regards to the den building. He couldn't help but be a little pleased with himself, possibly knowing something Leafpaw didn't. Not because he thought it made him any better then her, but because it meant for once he had something to show off that she might not have seen before. It made him feel a little more like a clan cat. His mood fell, however, at her comments for the gathering.
"I don't wanna be better then you though. I wanna be just as good as you, maybe. You're already so talented and fast and know so much - trying to pass that would be impossible; it'll be hard enough to get to the same level!" Nightpaw mewed, before trying to give her cheek and affectionate rub with his own, "Besides every great warrior needs another great warrior's help all the time! Wasn't that the point about the Elder's stories about all those cool cats from the past?" He was distracted when Owlpaw and Hawkpaw came over, offering them a friendly mew in greeting.
"Oh, right! That really mean cat all you guys left is gonna be there, huh? Stormstar? Oh now I really wanna go! I bet he's gonna have a great look on his face when he sees how great the FloodClan cats are doing without him!" Nightpaw replied, trying to imagine what the tom looked like for the hundredth time. Would he be big? Would he look anything like his mentor? Did he have long, razor sharp teeth like a dog?
"Hey Rosepaw! We were just talking about the gathering! What about you, do you wanna go?" Nightpaw asked the other she-cat padded up.
--~--
Lynxstar purred when Sunshade agreed to taking the position, half-relieved and half-thrilled. With the tom at his side, he felt like he would definitely be more comfortable. It was going to be a hard gathering, with the other two clans staring them down. He could only hope the truce would hold.
"That clan doesn't need you to be any cat but yourself, you've already proven yourself multiple times. Thank you, for accepting. I know what I am asking of you is a lot, especially on such unsure footing." Lynxtar replied slowly. He wished he could find the words to truly express the level of gratitude he felt for Sunshade. He owed him so much, already. He only hoped the other's commitment would be worth it in the long run.
"So, for your first duty as Deputy - who do you think we should bring to the gathering? I want to bring Leafpaw and Nightpaw. Leafpaw has been working hard, and I honestly don't recall her ever being allowed to attend a gathering before. And I think the experience would be a good lesson for Nightpaw on how inter-clan relationships work. I'd like to bring Moonpool as well, so she can have a chance to convene with the other medicine cats. And Ripplepool and Rosepaw. I think the others will be able to keep camp safe, but I'm hoping to look strong to the other leaders. What are your thoughts?" He knew it was a loaded question. It was hard, especially now, with the weight of one heavily pregnant queen waiting within, and knowing another lived nearby. He wished he had more cats to leave behind, though he did have faith that the ones he hadn't named would fight tooth and claw to defend the camp if need be. He was relying, for the moment, on the fact that the clans did not know where they were, though after tonight there would be no such luck. And that was ignoring weather or not the full-moon truce would hold at the gathering itself - Did he have enough cats for them to defend themselves, if need be?
"Artemis, good to see you. I saw your cats brought in some extra prey, thank you." Lynxstar greeted the rogue leader with a dip of his head, trying to be polite. In reality, the she-cat's entrance was a welcome reprieve from the maelstrom of his current thoughts.
--~--
Skychase and Ripplepool both waved their tails in greeting as Sharptalon joined them. "We did have a good morning. We're lucky the prey runs well here." Skychase commented, "How did your day go?"
"The gathering ought to be a good one, I think. I'm a little nervous to go myself - Foxstar might flay me alive when he finds out this is where Rosepaw and I have been." Ripplepool added.
"You're more afraid Owlflight will see you and drag you around by the scruff like a kit."
"You never made her mad, Skychase! I think I'm more nervous about seeing her then Stormstar - at least we already know he hates us, that won't be as weird!" Ripplepool huffed, pouting as he finished his mouth, "No matter what, it's sure to be an interesting night, and definitely a story for whomever gets left behind."
--~--
Cloverstream purred as Moonpool came into the den. She had already liked the cat in DawnClan - attentive and gentle, as far as Cloverstream was concerned, she was a natural medicine cat. She was glad that now her clan mate was allowed to put those skills to good use.
"I'm well, Moonpool, thank you for asking. I'm starting to feel like a lazy lump of fur though. I'm looking forward to kitting so I can at least walk again!" Cloverstream spoke in an amused tone, still pleased that her kits were so close to being here, despite her complaining.
"Hello Blossom! I'm doing good. Yourself? Aside from making me feel better that I'm not the only cat around here getting spoiled?" She added as a tease. The rogue queen was excellent company, as far as she was concerned. And she had such good advice it helped Cloverstream feel a little more at ease. At least there was still a she cat in her life who had done this before, and was willing to have not only a second but a third litter.

"Really? I'd love that! And then I can show you some of the sweet moves Lynxstar's been teaching me." The she cat found the other apprentice's enthusiasm for clan life wildly contagious, but more than anything she just loved the feeling of belonging somewhere. "Aw, gee. I'm not so great." She curled her tail over her paws bashfully at his compliments, letting out a purr as he rubbed her cheek and thanked him by licking his shoulder for his encouragement. "You're right, it's not a competition. By the time Lynxstar and Sunshade are done with us, FloodClan will have two unstoppable warriors on their side!"
Leafpaw raised her tail in greeting to Hawkpaw and Owlpaw when the sibligns joined them for their meal. She let out a mrrow of laughter at their playful banter with each other, but got suddenly quiet at the mention of Stormstar. "H-he's more like a force than a real cat. Like the wind or the hail, he doesn't care about who you are, he'll knock you down until you can't get up anymore." The she-cat spoke with a strange sort of reverence, because despite the horrible treatment she'd gotten from him all her life she couldn't deny his power. She could see why some of her former clanmates would follow him to Silverpelt if he'd asked them to. And although she loved her new life at FloodClan, part of the little wide-eyed apprentice inside of her still wished she'd been good enough to have been accepted by him.
Leafpaw was knocked out of her reverie when the rogues returned, adding a swell of fresh kill to the pile inside the camp clearing. Her big green eyes took them in, they were strange and different but she liked them. They'd sheltered FloodClan and been kind to them and now they even hunted for them. She wouldn't easily forget any of that. She watched the two light-coloured siblings collect their share of fresh kill before heading off to eat them. The male of the two, Ghost was it? He seemed to sense her staring and looked up and they awkwardly locked gazes. But true to form instead of politely averting her gaze Leafpaw stood, addressing him with a friendly mew. "I-I'm Leafpaw! Prey tastes better when you eat it with friends... Why don't you join us?" The apprentice had gone and shot her mouth off again. She hoped he and his sister would join them though, she was curious about the rogues and wanted to get to know them better.
  Flσσdclαn Dєputч ᴡʜᴇʀᴇxx FloodClan camp ᴡɪᴛʜxx Lynxstar, Artemis ᴏᴏᴄxx ... xxx◢ Sunshade saw his leader visibly relax when he accepted the position, and although he was glad to take some of the burden off of the clan leader's shoulders he desperately hoped Lynxstar's faith in him wasn't misplaced. The golden tom's face scowled slightly in thought as he considered his first act as deputy carefully. "Ripplepool and Rosepaw are good choices so DuskClan can see that their cats left by choice and are happy and healthy where they are. I'd have suggested Nightpaw if you hadn't already, he's come a long way in a short time and I'd like him to feel more a part of clan life. Also Moonpool should get a chance to declare herself in front of the other Medicine cats. As for Leafpaw..." To be honest, Sunshade hadn't really considered her as a candidate. This surprised him, as he'd never realized she'd never come to a Gathering before until Lynxstar pointed it out just then. "She's in desparate need of being given a chance. I'm glad you chose her." Yet another way Lynxstar was differentiating himself as a leader from Stormstar. He was quickly earning even more of Sunshade's respect.
"It's a good mix, that makes three warriors and three apprentices plus Moonpool." Sunshade had included himself and Lynxstar in the count under warriors, he hoped his leader would have interpreted his meaning. "My only thoughts are concerning how the other two clans will react. They may not even honour the truce with us since DawnClan for sure won't accept us as a real clan. Not sure how Foxstar will feel though." Sunshade had met the DuskClan leader only at Gatherings, and even then he'd only seen him speak and never actually spoken with him personally. "The worst case scenario would be an attack, and although I don't want one we should plan for one anyway..." The new deputy considered their options, until he decided their greatest asset would be that no cat outside of FloodClan knew the exact location of their camp. "We could try crossing the stream and rolling in some herbs to hide our scent of Twoleg nest. That way we can approach the Gathering from a different direction and hopefully if we have to leave suddenly we can lead our pursuers on a merry chase and away from camp." He said it lightheartedly but deep down he really hoped it wouldn't come to this. He wasn't particularly looking forward to facing cats he'd once shared a den and fresh kill with in battle. "It will mean that we should leave earlier to leave a false scent trail and then disguise our real one. I will personally make sure Moonpool's journey is as easy as possible." The tom had a lot of respect for the blind she-cat, but if he could make her life any easier then he wouldn't deny her his help.
Sunshade saw the rogues they currently shared territory with enter the Twoleg nest in the corner of his eye. He looked up as one of them approached himself and Lynxstar, he was pretty sure her name was Artemis. These cats had some odd-sounding names, but they were a strangely cohesive family unit despite never having been part of a clan. They had let FloodClan stay and seemed to be friendly enough so he had no reason to dislike any of them. He was unsure of who the leader of the group was, whether it was this cat or her brother Apollo. But either way Artemis seemed to be speaking on behalf of the group, and he gave her his full attention.

Soon, she could tell the she cat was ready and the kits would come along any time now. "I kno this is a pointless question as your mate is more doting than any tom I have ever seen but you got enough prey and water today correct? if not I can send one of the apprentices to go fetch you some soaked moss" She mewed
Moonpool heard Blossom before she scented her, the queen didn't have the grace of the clan cats and her pawsteps were heavy with kits. She let the two queens chatter idly getting a quick verbal permission before checking Blossom as well. The rogue queen was also incredibly close to her kitting, though having had two sets of kits before she seemed a little more at ease. During a pause in the queens chatter Moonpool quickly interjected. "You both are looking healthy and ready to bear your kits with no complications. As the two brothers began bickering about the upcoming gathering Sharptalon just purred and continued eating, listening to their banter. He was so afraid when Stormstar took over that he would lose this. His clan this new sense of purpose and family. Owlpaw had learned there were just some cats that couldn't be reasoned with so you needed to learn to live with them. Maybe over time they could come to agreements. But everyone was too hurt, the wounds too fresh to think logically. No one wanted to listen to any one else's side so for now, there could be nothing but bloodshed in their future. And by starclan she swore not a drop of it would be her brothers. Her ears flattened and her claws sunk into the ground at the though. Hearing Nightpaw's question she folded her ears back, ducking her head a bit ."Well actually, I am kind of hoping I am one of the cats left behind tonight" She mewed flicking her tail uneasily "I know my bro- Foxstar is going to be furious and I don't think having me there will make it any better. Once Lynxstar spoke to her and thanked her for the additional kills she nodded her head in acceptance "Ghost brought up a good point I couldn't refute. Your cats have helped our family so we owe you a kindness in turn....however." her eyes flashed dangerously and though her posture didn't change it was obvious she was quite angry "I couldn't help overhearing some of your conversation. She rolled back to a more comfortable position when Moonpool was done and reporting her findings. Ghost was very clever and if he thought there was something to be gained from talking to these strange cats she would trust him...for now.

We actually all wait and eat as a family together but we would still enjoy coming and joining your group". he mewed, nudging spirit and heading over to where the other cats were seated. He stayed a bit off to the side, not wanting to invade in their group too much but close enough to be a part of it. " I'm Ghost, and this is my sister Spirit". Spirit eyed him but nodded her head at the others, her eyes sharp and her body tense " What are your names?". he asked
Ghost had to be honest, he did have a bit of curiosity about these clan cats. Their way of life interested them. But he wasn't going to let his guard down for a second. He may look relaxed and pleasant but he was ready to fight back at a seconds notice. He wouldn't hesitate to fight any of these cats to protect his sister. But he also knew it was a good idea to know as much as you could about another cat, be them enemy or ally. He was very clever, always thinking. Not as strong as his sister he tended to use his charm to get his way more than his brawn. His mother said he could charm a bird from it's nest then charm the rest of it's family after he had eaten the first. No one was safe from his lopsided grin and sparkling eyes, except Spirit of course. He was never anything but purely honest with her
