“Damn!“ Morpheus huffed, staring up at the large LED screen listing times and ratings for the various movies showing at the Destiny Cinema. „Damn damn damn.“
The lone mirror senshi stood at the currently unmanned ticket booth, where a thick wall of glass separated attendant from customer. The front crested in a great orange latticed frame, reminiscent of factory-produced backings for hanging tools and other clippable objects. It lent the theater a very industrial feel despite the large screens overhead depicting their various self-advertisements. The cinema itself spanned a great distance with a slight outward curve, as if it may swallow whole any incoming cars. The evening hues painted the concrete walkway purple in their slow descent toward night. A smattering of recently-planted saplings in great stone pots indicated the theater’s newness in the area while simultaneously limiting any use of cover.
But Morpheus cared very little about cover. In the coming moments, he expected, the double doors framing each side of the ticket booth would burst forth with families, couples, loners and friend groups exiting the scene after a recent show - the very show that Morpheus had hoped to catch. And in his frustration of missing it, Morpheus expected to drain all the ones that had the wherewithal to make the last showing, with a special focus on kids.
But the doors had yet to open, and Morpheus tired of waiting.

The Dark Mirror Senshi of Change peered over the roof of the cinema, sending his mirrorwraith out to collect energy from the mass of people exiting the theater. He froze when he sensed an energy signature, however, his curiosity growing as he realized it was Chaotic in nature. Moreover, it belonged to the Dark Mirror Court, same as his.
Scanning the crowd down below near where he sensed the source of the signature, he quickly spotted a surprisingly familiar figure. Ptolemy remembered that guy and his fancy garb from the Star Wars event at the museum a while back.
He glanced about and waited for the stream of people to die down to a trickle before daring to slip off the roof down the side of the building. Then, calling his wraith back to his shard, he sauntered right up to Morpheus.
"Well whaddya know, it's the nerd!" he announced, grinning and throwing out his arms as if in welcome. "What'cha doing here, princess? Here to encroach on my game?" Ptolemy didn't bother to stop when he was at the boundaries of the other teen's personal space. Oh no - he kept right on going, making as if to fully embrace his fellow senshi in a tight hug.

With the exit of the movie, his wraith flitted around in its own brand of glee to collect heightened spirits. Those chatting excitedly about what they saw noticed nothing of the creature. And, for the most part, the exiting crowds paid little attention to Morpheus himself. Most brushed him off as some kind of cosplayer waiting for his friends, he guessed. For all the stigma surrounding the war going on here, nobody seemed terribly concerned when someone dressed in a crazy fashion came along; did anybody have a clue how to spot the combatants?
When the crowds faded, a voice sounded behind him and his first instinct was to - „Dude, shut the ******** up,“ he started as he whipped around. „There’s still, like, people around here. What if they get all nosy nad s**t?“ He continued to back as the senshi approached, and found no interest in being hugged - let alone by another man.
„If I knew this was where you hung around I’da been on the other end of town, trust me. Look, it’s not like this s**t is all staked out. Next time spraypaint your symbol or something. Then people might know.“ ‚Princess‘ and ‚Nerd‘ he could deal with, but damn if he didn’t walk backwards in a circle to prevent the hug. „I just wanted to get my s**t done quick. Draining people’s kinda weird, you know? I dunno.“ He brushed away the thought - dwelling too hard about it was reserved for the pseudointellectuals.
„If you’re gonna hang around, I’ll split and go somewhere else.“

Morpheus' chastisement was answered with a laugh. "What? I didn't say anything incriminating." He lowered his volume and added, "For all they know, I'm just on the hunt for a good time."
Ptolemaeus waved his hand in a careless gesture, unable to stop grinning with amusement at the other Dark Mirror Senshi's eagerness to evade him. "What's your problem? You're so uptight! Are you a germaphobe or something? Got some trauma about being touched?"
Stopping in his tracks, he crossed his arms over his chest and shifted his weight onto one leg as he cast Morpheus a pitying smirk. "Oh, no. I was just thinking how sad it was to be at the movies without company. This must be fate, so how can I let you leave so soon now? We could have a great time working together!"

"Like hell am I a germophobe… They're called boundaries, dude, stop ********' crossing the line." Sure, Ptolemaeus was taller, but that spared him no excuse for overstepping bounds. This senshi drained the good mood right out of him at a moment's notice, and Morpheus wanted to escape his uniquely awful ability.
Unfortunately, the senshi left him nowhere to go by virtue of simply excusing himself. Did Morpheus need to use his magic on this a*****e? Would it even work? Or did that s**t only work on youma and civilians that got close enough to piss him off? He never tried, but Ptolemaeus was looking like a better and better target by the second. He kept insisting on working together, and each word that came from his face hole confirmed more sarcasm than genuine want to help. Briefly Morpheus thought the guy phrased himself in such a way so that Morpheus would look like an idiot if he tried to report this to anyone. Yeah, some a*****e Dark Mirror senshi kept trying to touch me and drain energy with me, and he was being a total jerkoff while doing it. That sounds ********' believable.
"You want a movie, you mouthy ********? I'll give you a movie…" As Morpheus approached the other senshi, he brushed some dust from his sash and cupped the debris into his hand. Once he was close enough, he blew the dust toward the eyes of the offending party - height be damned.
"There's your ********' movie, you nard." Morpheus excused himself shortly thereafter.
Sailor Scout Attack: Morpheus' Cinders
Range: 6~-8', dependent on wind conditions Duration: 30 seconds Use Count: Useable 3x without energy replenishment. Miss Chance: Morpheus' attack can miss based on wind blowing the dust in the wrong direction, a character jumping out of the way, or shutting their eyes / shielding the face. Effect: Morpheus can either wipe his forehead or touch the dust-laden ribbon of his uniform to summon a handful of soot. He then throws it toward the target (hence the variability on range), and if it strikes them in the eyes or face, the attack will take hold. It does not sting the eyes as one would expect of soot. From then on, the afflicted character will interpret the world with blended elements of stream of consciousness / dreaming. These elements are entirely up to the player - for example, they may see someone's face taper into a trombone, or watch a battle taking place upon a lake that's dripping upward onto the clouds, or that Destiny City has become a sphere encasing the entire battle, and looking upward reveals the rooftops of buildings on the other side. Any blended elements are free reign here - sights, sounds, tastes, feelings, and smells are all viably manipulable components in Morpheus' attack.
However, this magic can only augment parts of people - it cannot change the whole.

With a heavy sigh of suspiciously unconvincing disappointment, Ptolemy dropped his arms from his chest. He was about to say something and opened his mouth to do so, but Morpheus acted and spoke first. Instead of continuing his attempts to evade him, the other Dark Mirror Senshi actually reversed his trajectory and walked right up to him instead.
This in itself should have been an indicator of something bad to come and the words that followed were only confirmation, but Ptolemaeus couldn't bring himself to step away. Whether out of shock or curiosity, he stood his ground and watched as Morpheus brushed something off his sash into his cupped palm upon his approach.
Whatever that dust was meant to do, though, Ptolemy's interest in finding out was hindered by his dislike of the idea of having that stuff blown into his eyes. Magic or not, he couldn't have imagined it would have been pleasant. He flung out his arm to counter the attack with his own, a net of light cast from his multiple mood rings to intercept and melt into the cloud of soot headed straight for him.

Sailor Scout Attack: Change of Subject
Range: 3', single target within range of hitting Ptolemaeus Duration: Net lasts 10 seconds before fading or before melting into a magic attack it comes into contact with; whichever comes first. If it manages to affect the magic attack it comes into contact with, its effect lasts as long as the duration of the affected attack. Use Count: x3 per battle Miss Chance: Useless if used before another's magic attack, if used on a physical attack, or if used on its own due to its effects being dependent on another's magic. Also won't affect magic ranking higher than its user. Effect: Ptolemaeus flings out his hand as if casting a net over the area of focus. Colorful strings of light shoot forth from the mood rings on his fingers to create a vivid, luminous net meant to ambush a targeted magic attack.
If successful, the net will wrap about any visible aspects of the attack (depending on the form the targeted attack takes) or the attacker themselves. Then the threads of light making up the net melt into bright blue pools of light that cover the target (whether astral projection, magical projectile, or the attacker themselves) completely before fading out.
The player of the attacker whose attack is affected can interpret the reversal ofthe attack and how it affects their magic as they see fit. An example would be 'an attack that makes all Order Senshi happy'; the reversal of that attack could be something like 'makes all Order-aligned characters sad' OR the reversal could manifest itself as 'makes all Chaos-aligned characters happy' instead depending on what the player of the attacker decides.

"The ********?" Morpheus watched in confusion while Ptolemaeus summoned his own magic to meet Morpheus'. The dust sent toward the boy's eyes glowed an ugly-a** aqua for a moment before disappearing, and Morpheus was left wondering what the hell just happened. He couldn't exactly ask about it, either; that would put himself beneath Ptolemaeus in a situation like this.
"Fine. ******** you. Whatever." Morpheus threw his hands up in his abandonment of the altercation. Ptolemaeus, he decided, just wasn't worth his time, no matter what he did to Morpheus' magic. He didn't need to know what Ptolemaeus' attack did, he didn't need to know what Ptolemaeus might say next, and he didn't need to go bitching him out any further because Morpheus was 100% Done With This s**t. Just no. It ain't happening anymore.
So instead of waiting around to watch the effects of his magic, however augmented they might have been, Morpheus turned on his heel and started toward the adjacent building. Hopping the great gap between the parapets proved no great feat, and proffered liberal distance between the two. With people like Ptolemaeus, he decided, ignoring them worked a helluva lot better than punching them out. Giving them that kind of attention only seemed to encourage them, though opting for that strategy gave credence to what his moth told him on occasion, and he wasn't much appreciative of that. Still, it's not like he needed to tell her that he took her advice.
"See ya, loser," Morpheus grumbled under his breath. Droppping down, he approached the theatre with every intention of finishing his draining project that evening.

reversal can be that instead of seeing new additions to the environment, Ptolemaeus' senses are sharpened toward reality. Loud things get louder, bright things get brighter, tastes get more pronounced, et cetera!

Even if Morpheus had asked what had happened, Ptolemaeus wouldn't have been able to give him an answer, because he didn't know, either. That was the tricky thing about his magic when using it on a stranger's. Not that Morpheus was a complete stranger, but enough of one that he didn't know what his magic would have done normally. Without even knowing that, he had absolutely no clue what effect it would have had on him after his magical alteration of it.
"What were you the senshi of, again...?" he asked, but Morpheus had already gave his parting words and taken off. But even as he spoke and watched him, he found his usual sensory perception to be remarkably keen. It was overwhelming at first and took a couple of minutes for him to adjust, causing him to blink and reach up to cup his hands around his ears. As he gradually began to realize what had happened, though, Ptolemy's grin returned more broad than ever and he launched himself after his fellow Dark Mirror senshi with a delighted laugh.
"Morpheus! Morpheus, you have to try this! It's amazing!"

Morpheus heaved a great sigh, dropping his shoulders heavily, as he heard his least favorite Dark Mirror approaching once more. "Dude, I know," Morpheus returned without looking at Ptolemaeus, "s**t gets all trippy when I use my magic. Half the ********' world told me about that s**t. Like hell am I gonna dump dust into my ********' eyes just to see for myself." Didn't this dude get the hint that he best be stepping? Did Morpheus have to spell that s**t out for him? He thought he made it damned clear that he wasn't interested in any further conversation. That didn't seem to matter, however. How ********' annoying was that?
Morpheus turned to walk backward while he addressed his incessant parasite of a peer. As he did so, Morpheus adopted the sweeping gesticulations of his rap idols. "If you didn't get the hint already, I'm trying to leave. As in I don't wanna talk to your b***h a** anymore. As in you were supposed to stay the ******** over there and I am supposed to go the ******** over here. Capiche? Cuz there ain't no way I can tell it to you better, Homie. You do you, I'll do me, and never the two shall meet." He felt pretty proud of himself for that last line - like it could come outta a pretty decent rap song. Yeah, maybe when he took it up again, he'd use it in some lyrics.
"Look, unless whatever you did was some badass tactical s**t, you can keep it to yourself."

"Is - is that what's supposed to happen?" That might have been fun to try out too, provided he didn't do anything stupid while magically affected. But this was something else entirely. That might have explained why the attack had been altered the way it had, however.
Morpheus' comment about dumping dust in his eyes only elicited more laughter from the other teen. "People have done worse than dump dust in their eyes to get high. But that's not what happens when it's combined with my magic." If Ptolemaeus managed to sense that the other Dark Mirror Senshi wanted him to get lost, he gave no indication. He seemed intent on remaining purposefully oblivious to the notion.
"Aw, Morph, why you gotta be like that? We're just barely getting to know each other. How can you already be so adverse to my company?" In spite of his words, he continued to grin because he knew very well how that could be. Ptolemy had recognized such enmity toward him in dozens of people before within much shorter spans of time than he'd known the purple-haired sailor scout. Of course, that didn't mean he was about to step off. If Morpheus wanted to get rid of him, he was going to have to try harder than that.
"It could be badass tactical s**t," the black-haired male answered. "Listen; my magic changes others' magic, but I don't usually know what it's going to do. It tends to have an opposite effect in one way or another. In this case, I think it sharpens your senses, like beyond human capacity. You've gotta try it at least once. Please?" He attempted to give Morpheus his best pleading look which may have turned out a bit odd since it wasn't something Ptolemy almost ever found himself doing. "I just want to see your reaction and then I'll be out of your hair for the rest of the day. Promise."

"Dude, you're just — you're ******** weird, okay? Like 'never got out much' weird. Like 'I don't take social cues because I was raised under a ********' rock' weird. That's the kinda weird you are. I don't want to get to know you, dude. No offense, but you're real good at makin' s**t wird between us, too, so I'm gonna go and you're gonna stay here and if we see each other again we might try this s**t on our allies. If we… actually have any." Morpheus wasn't entirely convinced that the court was anything beyond a collection of mismatched, unwanted loners. He could've gone for something better, he was sure.
"But I'm not using my magic on myself no matter what you say. Especially if you're the one saying it. You might be lying outta your a** right now and it actually does some awful s**t to you. Ain't nobody got time for that s**t." As one who wasn't entirely sure of the effects of his magic, he felt even less inclined to know its changes under Ptolemaeus' magic. And no amount of explaining this to Ptolemaeus was going to get him to ******** off for the night, so Morpheus decided that he would just have to march his a** back into the movie theatre, find one of their restrooms, and crawl through whatever primping mirror they had in the ladies' bathroom area. Morpheus was pretty damn sure Ptolemaeus couldn't follow him home. And if he could…
Then that's s**t. Then this a*****e knew where he lived.
But Morpheus was going to take that chance, because Jabber Jaws here kept trying to play alpha here by completely ignoring his insistence that Ptolemaeus leave him the ******** alone. And Morpheus wasn't into being beta to anyone, unless it was a really hot chick. Ptolemaeus definitely wasn't that.
"Aight, I'm out. Deuces." And don't follow me, dude. Morpheus waited for no reply, having already decided he would have No More of This s**t. He knew the movie theatre itself well enough from his own personal ventures that finding the way to the bathroom was a matter of walking down the main long hallway and turning left into the alcove flagged for males and females. And once he touched one of those mirrors, he'd be hella gone.

At Morpheus' opinionated description of him, Ptolemy's countenance relaxed into a resigned sort of smile. He knew exactly the kind of weird he was, even if it had nothing to do with how often he went out. Regardless of the purple-haired senshi's misdiagnosis, however, Ptolemy couldn't blame him for his repulsion. If the taller teen had been an average member of society, he probably would have been wary of himself, too, but just because he was aware of what made him unnerving didn't mean he was about to change for the sake of others. He was perfectly pleased with who he currently was in spite of his lack of fans and that was all that mattered to him.
As the senshi of change, the black-haired teen believed nothing was set in stone. Perhaps in the future, he would choose to become more amiable or he would maybe even end up growing on Morpheus. For now, though, it seemed best for them to go their separate ways.
"None taken," he assured his senshi peer. "I'll admit I enjoyed stirring up that 'weird s**t' between us just to tease, since, no offense, but you seem so easy to mess with. I couldn't resist. Didn't mean anything serious by it, though."
He put two fingers to his forehead and cast them away in a casual salute accompanied by a crooked smirk. "So long, Sugar." Once Morpehus was out of sight, Ptolemaeus returned his attention to his mirrorwraith and the crowds it continued to gather energy from.
