Welcome To Kahikina!
Opening Event
Welcome everyone to Kahikina! We are so excited to have you here with us for our Grand Opening Event! There are a lot of faces we've seen in the past week, both new and old, and we can't wait to see where you go in the shop!
This Grand Opening Event will consist of multiple events, some running throughout the entire event and some being half of the event. Some are prompt focused for us to see how you picture premade characters in personality and history. Others are raffles, both paid and for advertising, to allow you a chance to easily enter and win some awesome kids. And our biggest events are two semi-custom Apprentice characters, where you get to decide how they're colored and styled!
We can't wait to celebrate our opening with you. There are three events starting RIGHT NOW, so please check them out in events subforum! If you have any questions, feel free to contact our staff or quote the mule.
This is only the beginning, and we can't wait to continue to share our ideas and shop events with you!

More About Kahikina!As we work to prep for the raffle, we wanted to take a moment to further explain the setting of Kahikina. We've noticed quite a few people roleplayed their characters using terms like 'running' or 'walking' in their event entries. Kahikina is a world that is covered with nearly 90% water, and the creatures of this world cannot go out of the water for a long period of time. The maximum amount of time a creature can leave the water is 30 minutes, and they often will not do so unless they are working. They live, breathe, and exist within the waters; why else would they be born with gills? We understand that as you get used to the setting you will explore the world, but we wanted to take the time to explain as people begin to RP. In general, any traveling, interactions, and even sleeping occurs under water. Also, rivers, lakes, and streams are MUCH bigger in this world than our own. Some rivers can be as wide as 5 miles! Feel free to explore that type of setting and have fun! Our world map does include a guide for you see both the distance between settlements as well as the distance of the rivers/lakes themselves! If you have any questions about the setting, please feel free to ask in our FAQ or poke the mule/staff!

The World Is Changing!
Hapuna and Moakai Event The world of Kahikina has been faced with nonstop rain. Now that the clouds have let up and the drought is over, the world has opened up to the long lost neighbors of the Kaha’iko and Menehune: The salt water races! Pale’iko’s rivers have overflown with the monsoon and finally refilled their long-dry river beds. The people of Kahikina can finally meet each other face to face, and there sure is a lot to learn from each other.

Staff Update
We are sad to announce that Peppermint Coffee has resigned as an artist from our shop. Since the start of Kahikina, Fee has been a supportive artist and an amazing team member, helping us build up our dream shop. We are so sad to see her go, but know that she is following her heart and will always have a home here at Kahikina.

Best of Both Worlds!
Hapuna/Moakai Hybrid Quests Now Open!
We hope everyone enjoyed our most recent events! To celebrate our first hybrid, we have opened up hybrid customs for the Hapuna/Moakai! Because of their longstanding friendship and interactions, you can quest for a saltwater child!
At this time, the Kaha'iko and Menehune are still getting used to their new neighbors, so they aren't ready to be quested at this time.
Check out the availability below to familiarize you with what you can and cannot quest:

This is only the beginning, and as the world continues to merge and grow, I'm sure we will see more hybrids become available for quest! As always, this is only for questing - hybrids produced by breeding are available for any race.
