The Summer had been both kind and unkind to Leucite. Kind in that he had finally found a place in the Negaverse in which he felt that he would be doing the most good. Unkind in that it had cost him a position in the Negaverse that he had held for so long it had felt like a second skin. But, he was past that now, even thinking about the Special Operations meeting no longer raised the fire in his blood. Looking back, it had been a boon as much as it had been a punishment.

But that mattered little now. Already he was scouting an area that would suit his needs for his plans later that week. Plans that would require a bit of logistics to carry off, but he knew would result in only betterment for the Negaverse. He would take no prey himself that night, this was purely a scouting venture. Still, he was a beacon in the night, and he made not attempts to be anything but.

If the White Moon wanted to interrupt him - so be it - all the better to know one of their ilk patrolled the area. If a fellow Negaverse Officer wanted to speak with him... Well he was amiable to a friendly discussion as he worked.

I’m going to die in this. Arseno thought to himself as he continued to look through the area for someone to drain energy from. The long-coat really wasn’t helping to keep him cool at all and currently was quite jealous of any officer that had lighter clothing on. Luckily he had a water bottle with him, but that wouldn’t help him to get any cooler.

He wasn’t sure if he could take the coat off or not either. If a higher officer found him without it would he get in trouble? He didn’t know, but he would have to ask. This was ridiculous.

Him being so heated was causing him to have a hard time finding a target and so he decided to rest a bit. But no sooner had he moved to a hidden spot that he detected what seemed to be a General Negavers officer’s aura. Interesting, he wondered if it was his own that recruited him and so followed the aura until he could see the other. Definitely not Benitoite. He thought to himself as he looked at the other man. He wondered what the general was doing, though he didn’t dare yell out to the man.

Arseno would not need to yell. No sooner had Leucite picked up the Aura of the Lieutenant, he slowed in his movements, down to a speed that the Lieutenant would find easy to follow. Then he stopped, and turned in the rough direction of Arseno, when he reached a rooftop that seemed more than empty enough of any air conditioner units that would be spitting out hot hair from their vents, or anything that might block a breeze by its bulk.

The General too, was wearing a long coat, though if the heat bothered him he didn't seem to be showing any signs of it. The man fell into an easy stance, something that resembled parade rest - hands behind his back and feet shoulder width apart.

It seemed, surprisingly, like he was waiting for Arseno to join him. A silent, but open invitation to approach.

Arseno was surprised that the man seemed to be waiting for him. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of the situation, but clearly the general was stopping for him, and so Arseno figured that he might be in the mood to talk.

He managed to jump onto the same rooftop as the general and made sure he didn’t trip over something that would make him look incompetent. He looked back at the man and… well, he wasn’t sure what to do now. How did other officers greet generals? Salutes? A wave? A ‘hello how are you?’

He definitely should have asked Benitoite about this sort of stuff. It was a bit nerve-wracking now knowing what to do but also not wanting to make a fool of himself. Hopefully the general wouldn’t take any offense to the silence.

As the other man landed, Leucite remained where he stood, and let the silence stew for a few more moments before finally he inhaled and let out a long, slow sigh.

"It's awfully warm out tonight? Isn't it?" He asked, and with little fanfare, slid the coat off of his own shoulders and folded it over his arm, leaving himself in his (still long sleeved) Blue jacket. "Why don't you shrug off that coat and get a little bit more comfortable? Won't do us any good if you pass out."

"General Leucite," He said, before motioning back to Arseno. "And by what name do I call you, Lieutenant?"

General Leucite seemed quite, well, Arseno didn’t really know how to put it, but he was quite impressed with the him. Leucite helped him feel a bit more at ease at least, though Arseno was still wary.

He nodded his head toward the man and took off his jacket, almost sighing a bit as he felt some of the warmth lift off of him, but decided against doing so. He folded the jacked up as much as he could and held it over his arm, like the general. He was still wearing a black long-sleeved shirt. “Yes it’s very warm. Though I still like the warmth better than the cold.” Growing up in California he didn’t have to worry too much about snow and so wasn’t quite accustomed to it.

“Err… I’m Lieutenant Arsenopyrite.” He said, responding to the general’s inquiry.

"Arsenopyrite..." Leucite said, taking his time with the word. "How long have you been with us, Arsenopyrite?"

The General did not move from where he stood, nor did he shift his feet overly much from how they had been before. The coat remained draped over his arm, and his gaze was running over Arseno, measuring the other man as he asked his questions.

"You can relax," He added, with a bit of humor in his voice. "I promise I don't bite."

Though, he wouldn't tell the man that was the biggest lie ever.

He had been told to relax, but he couldn’t fully in the presence of a negaverse general that he didn’t know. But at least he could relax his shoulders.

“I’ve been in the Negaverse for about 5 months.” He said in reply, trying to make sure his responses weren’t stuttered. He wasn’t exactly sure what to do now, he felt it out of place for him to speak first.

Five months was not a very long time, which was fine, the Negaverse needed fresh blood, nobody would herald that fact harder than Leucite. He continued to watch the other man, and as he finished his reply the General smiled.

"Five months? Have you taken a starseed yet?" His question was quick an dto the point, cutting away at any sense of formality.

"Hmmm, another question, before you answer that," He added, raising his free hand as if to dissuade the other man from a quick reply. "What do you think of our enemy, the White Moon? Also... What do you think of us, the Negaverse, I'm curious what new eyes see..."

No worries ^^

Arseno was quite surprised that the general would ask such a question so quickly, though perhaps it was to be expected of lieutenants. He was about to say that he had, once so far, but perhaps that wouldn’t have been enough for the other. Luckily for him though, the general decided he wanted another question answered first. Though the second question was much harder than the first, at least for Arseno.

Sure, he had taken a starseed at this point, but it seemed to be more in a slight fit of anger than anything and not because the senshi whom he had taken it from deserved it. But had that really changed his mind about the ‘White Moon’ senshi? He would have to think about what to say, especially because saying the wrong thing could bring about punishment from the general.

Should he be honest in his reply? Perhaps the general would be able to tell when he was lying and it wouldn’t be good to lie to the general. Arseno tried to phrase his response in the most truthful way possible, hopefully without consequences. “I… really don’t see the point of the White Moon. Though I haven’t had much interaction with them to be able to tell what their goal is.

“The Negaverse…” Really, how should he phrase this? “I can’t say I’ve been here long enough to tell and I can’t say I’m the type of agent the Negaverse usually recruits. I think some go to extremes, but that’s true for both sides, it’s a battle if not a war after all.” Well, that was the best he could do. Now to wait and see what the general did. Hopefully it wouldn’t be too painful.

Lecuite listened silently as Arseno spoke, his face a mask of contemplation. When Arseno finished speaking, Leucite removed his coat from his forearm and hung it over the nearby roof ledge. Turning to Arseno then, he nodded his head.

"You are right about one thing, this is a war. A war for this planet. Do you love this planet Aresonpyrite? Do you love and cherish your family, your friends?" Leucite spoke with a well practiced tone, one that resonated with earnest feelings.

"The senshi and knights are our enemy, the knights only because they have been lead astray by the cunning lies of the White Moon. The Negaverse truly cares about this planet, the youma have come to our aid, to protect this planet... Queen Metallia has granted us a portion of her endless power so that we may purge this world of the corruption of the senshi and bring those lost back into the fold." Leucite's voice grew more forceful as he spoke. He turned fully toward Arseno, his eyes locking squarely onto the other man.

"We must bring all under the power of the Negaverse if there is any hope of saving this world, Arsenopyrite... If we are to truly survive. The White Moon is our enemy, but an enemy we must convert... kill if we must... but convert to our ways if we can."

Leucite took a long breath and bowed his head. "Does that help you understand our place in this war, Arsenopyrite? We are Righteous in our cause... We must for the Greater Good, bring those who would do harm to this planet under our heel."

Arseno held back a sigh of relief. Seems Leucite wasn’t in the mood to go around punishing lowly peons tonight. He did however listen carefully to the other and was quite surprised at what he heard.

Even when he had been recruited he hadn’t exactly been told what the negaverse was fighting for. He only knew that the White Moon was the enemy and that some had felt very strong loyalty towards the negaverse, but never the true purpose.

He contemplated carefully; of course he was worried for his family and for the planet. For a while he had lost all optimism that the planet could even be saved. Too many people and too many of those people were greedily destroying the planet without a care in the world as to any consequences it might have for the future. And from what he had seen, senshi were only here to protect those humans who would rid the planet of all life with their greed.

He slowly nodded at the general. “I understand. If it’s for my family and for the planet I would do anything I could to save them. But, if I may ask… what about the civilians? The White Moon seems to be protecting them. What is their role for the negaverse?” At this point he was starting to care less and less about civilians. Through his energy drains and trying to target only those who deserved it, he had seen more evil than he wanted and a squire had even tried to come to the aid of one of those he had drained! And it was a drug dealer! It made him annoyed at first, but the more he thought about it the angrier he became.

"You are right, they seem to be protecting them, but the truth is that they only care as far as to stop us from pulling energy, or punishing those who the law will not punish." Leucite said, watching the other man. "We are the ones truly protecting the civilians. That protection comes at a cost. A little energy here or there won't hurt anyone. I personally pull starseeds from the dregs of society. The Drug dealers, the gang members. Those who would only harm their community. If that is not serving the Greater Good... Well... What is then?"

"They do not understand that the law refuses to punish some, and so here we are, granted power by Queen Metallia, to do service in her name." The way Leucite spoke Metallia's name was almost... reverent, bordering on the utterance of a saint or a god.

"So in Righteousness we must gird ourselves and strike against the wicked and profane. Those who would harm our world and our loved ones." Leucite added, his words taking on an almost brimstone like fire. "I can teach you... If you want to learn?"

Arseno huffed a bit in his mind. He didn’t really care for protecting civilians, but if that was they only way to get energy, might as well keep them around for that reason. But he did agree with the other. Those who caused harm to society should be eliminated… right? He wasn’t sure, did he use to think like that or was he only just now agreeing with that. He… didn’t know anymore.

But it felt right agreeing with the general and his sentiments. What good would it be to keep those who harmed others alive? The least those who were innocent could do was give a little energy.

Staring head on back at the general he nodded once again. “Yes, I would like to learn. I think I’ve been kept in the dark about all of this for too long and you are the first one who has told me what all of this is about in detail.” He respected Benitoite and would serve him first. But if he had to get the information from another, he would do it.

Leucite nodded and heading back to his coat, he pulled it up from the ledge, and then reached inside to one of the inner pockets. Pulling out a piece of paper and a pen, he quickly scribbled some directions and then handed Arseno the paper.

"So then, is there anything else you'd like to know?"
