                          Continue from here.

It never occurred to Kaede that Yuno may have had a well-off life being in the possession of Tacks. For some reason, the coon just assumed that his new slave would be used to the bare minimum, probably wallowed in filth and starved for half his life. Slaves are typically treated with humanity, but those that find themselves in the fighting pits tend to not be that fortunate. It just made sense to use and abuse a slave as if they were an animal since their owners saw their fighters as nothing more than savages. So, Kaede didn't think for a second as he led them through the slums that his apartment would be displeasing to his house guest. After all, he had no reason to be self-conscious. Considering the meek income the punk brought in, his apartment was quite nice -- and in a good location, too! The few other Ghost members that have seen the place even complimented it (or rather, how the kid keeps it surprisingly clean).

Thus, as Kaede enters his apartment complex, he doesn't even glance back at Yuno. They ascend the steps because the elevator has had an OUT OF ORDER sign on it probably since the place was built. To be honest, it's likely that there isn't even an elevator in this derelict building, just an empty shaft with naked walls. When Kaede steps onto the fourth floor, he turns and leads the way down the hall. The dull footsteps of the man following keeps him facing forward. Not once does the new master fear his slave slipping away. Why would Yuno run? Where would he even go? The floors and walls of the hallway mimic the same style as the rest of the property -- decrepit and vandalised. Sloppy graffiti, torn wallpaper, exposed drywall, mysterious stains. It looks like something straight out of a psychological horror game. But, Kaede pays no mind, shows no shame or embarrassment. After all, this is the only thing he knows. The thought of living in a place where rotten trash and soggy carpets didn't line the halls is a foreign concept to the coon. So what is there to be embarrassed about?

"Uh....well, this is it," Kaede announces when they stop in front of a door missing its number and sporting quite a few gashes in the wood. He rustles in his jacket pocket before pulling out a lone key with a cute little plastic raccoon charm attached to it. A few moments later and the door opens to reveal one large room vaguely sectioned into a kitchen/dining room, a living room, and a sad excuse for a bedroom. The only room that is formally isolated is the tiny bathroom right next to the front door. Compared to the trashed hallway, this apartment is pristine albeit rough and industrial. The only messes are a few dishes tucked neatly in the sink and a disheveled bed. There is no trash lying around, no dirty clothes on the floor, no holes in the wall. Kaede leads the way in, flicks on the light in the kitchen to illuminate the sparse, worn furniture, and turns to smile at Yuno. "Welcome home?" he offers uneasily. Suddenly being alone in a room with the werewolf is startlingly intimidating. Where the boy had held onto bits of determination in the face of danger while around crowds of other people, he suddenly wants to submit to the obvious alpha. His home no longer feels safe, comforting, warm; it's more like a trap.

"Um, I-I can make us some food..." Kaede squeaks before turning away and walking into the kitchen, needing to put distance between himself and Yuno. Along the way, he unzips his jacket and haphazardly throws it onto a chair. The coon tries to hide his painfully palpable anxiety by focusing on finding food in the cabinets and the refrigerator, but both are quite barren. "A-are you hungry? What-what would you like?"

                          ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

By the time they reached Kaedes home, Yuno was really starting to feel some regrets. As if getting so frightened over some random scrawny guy offering food wasn't embarrassing enough. Picking up Kae and bolting with him (aside from being embarrassing), had strained his shoulder badly; something the ring medic had specifically told him not to do. Turns out, lifting anything with a giant gaping hole in your shoulder is actually pretty bad for it. And on top of that, all of the sudden movement, panic, and running had his head swimming with its injury as well. Dark spots and bright lights swam in and out of his vision, and the headache he had been nursing since his last fight pounded on the inside of his skull with a renewed ferocity. He grumbled as he followed Kae (after he'd finally deemed to set him back on the ground and begrudgingly follow him), cursing that damn gorilla Kakuzu under his breath. The next time he saw that guy in the ring, he was really going to give him hell. Knocking out all of his teeth just didn't feel like enough of a punishment to Yuno. He needed that guy to quake in fear when he saw Yuno coming, to refuse to enter the ring with him. Maybe then he would be satisfied.

To top off his foul mood with everything that had gone on today, Yuno eyed the slums they traveled through with increasing suspicion. It looked suspiciously like they were moving further into the slums, instead of out of them. Yuno hadn't exactly been living in not the slums, but it was in the warehouse district, at least. Or, as Tacks liked to say, the werehouse district. Yuno had developed a hatred of puns. It wasn't a palace, sure, but it beat the streets where he was supposed to have lived before, and it sure beat.... this. Yuno caught himself sending menacing glares to a few shady characters sizing them up as they walked through the ill-maintained streets. The sidewalk was broken every few feet, chunks of concrete jutting up to impede them, riddled with weeds pushing their way through and shaded by tumbleweeds made of old newspapers and candy wrappers.

When they finally turned off of the sidewalks, Yuno didn't feel much more hopeful. It looked like the building that the local cops had the layout memorized for for all the domestic abuse calls they were constantly having to answer to. Twitching his ears, Yuno could already make out the faint, muffled sounds of someone yelling somewhere within the complex. He trudged heavily on the stairs behind Kae, lifting a lip in distaste as he eyed the 'out of order' sign on the elevator. Kae hadn't even glanced at it. Even the door to Kaede's apartment had odd gouges in it. Had the kid been fending off an invasion by gengis kahn with nothing but his door between him and the mongol hoards?? ... how did Yuno know about anything like that, anyway? He didn't think too much about it. When he tried to remember certain things, he got bad headaches, and the one he already had was vicious enough without help from the fuzzy spot in the back of his brain.

He was relieved, at least, when Kaede opened the door. The apartment was... embarrassingly tiny. He understood combining living and dining rooms, but the bed was there too?? He counted himself lucky that the bathroom had a door, at least. But, most importantly, it was at least clean. He had half expected the trend of filth and decay to follow them even into Kaedes private living quarters.
                          Well. Formerly private.
"Uh....well, this is it. Welcome home?" He had said as he opened the door. Compared to how feisty the guy had been back at the rings, Yun was a little surprised at how quickly he went back to being meek and submissive. It almost seemed like this guy had bi polar or something.
"Um, I-I can make us some food...A-are you hungry? What-what would you like?" It would be adorable how demure the vicious kid was suddenly acting, if Yuno wasn't so tired and in such a foul mood. And he was just so damn tired. All Yuno had wanted was to go home like he always did after his fights, stay in his own bed, lick his wounds, and wait for the moon to come. With Tacks, he at least had his own space, his own room (in addition to the lockdown room). It was familiar, and safe. This place was tiny, cramped, strange and foreign. It smelled like someone else, not him. He was so exhausted. With a loud sigh, Yuno limped across the room to the bed, and flopped down onto it face first with a loud Fwump!
"Meat." He said plainly. Any meat would do, he was no longer in the mood to be picky. He just needed some kind of energy. His wounds throbbed, and the bandages wound around his head itched at his scalp.

Being the oblivious nitwit that he is, Kaede somehow doesn't take notice of Yuno's rather obvious discomfort. The way the werewolf tries to hide his limp, fights to keep focused and awake, glances around warily, it all goes completely over the teen's head. After all, how could he realise his new slave's uneasiness around his own growing nerves? By now, the sad excuse for an apartment must be filled with the scent of the coon's fear. Even if Yuno couldn't smell it, the panic is clear in the way Kaede all but shakes as he grabs for the cabinet doors and digs through their sparse inhabitants. The raven-headed boy even drops a box of macaroni and cheese and flinches at the sudden noise of it crashing to the ground. He looks up with wide eyes, expecting some aggravated quip from his guest before quickly looking away with a muttered apology.

Where has all the fire gone? All that tenacity and pride? This Kaede is nothing like the one that brazenly bet against some slimelord at the illegal fighting ring, and then proceeded to show off that arrogance in trying to stand up to the slave he won. Something about having such an intimidating character -- a predator, rather -- in the most precious, safe place to him...well, it's ******** terrifying. This just shatters any sense of comfort and ease these four walls once possessed. Not even here can he relax for a mere second. So, when Yuno exhales loudly before collapsing onto Kaede's bed, the boy is startled by the noise and cowers instinctively. After realising that he isn't in harm's way, tentative grey eyes look over to where the werewolf now lies carelessly on his bed. Immediately, the coon's fright dissipates and is replaced by annoyance. How dare that slave lie on his bed!

"Hey, hey, hey! That is my bed," Kaede speaks up, his voice no longer quiet and mousey. There's that reckless confidence again as he steps the few feet over to the bed and frowns down at Yuno. "You get the couch until I can get you a futon tomorrow. You don't get my bed." His tone sounds actually angry, a stark contrast to the timidness he has displayed since coming home. Seeing the werewolf so easily take over his space...it's infuriating. Kaede has worked hard for this apartment, for that bed. He won't give it up so easily. Before Yuno can respond, the coon is leaning forward and reaches a hand out to give a demanding push to the other male's unbandaged arm. What a stupid decision.

However, before Kaede's hand can make contact with Yuno's arm, he stops -- but not because he values his life. No, he senses that something is off about the werewolf. He pulls his hand back, his scowl turning into lips pressed together worriedly. "Um, are you okay? You don't...don't look so good," the coon comments in a low, concerned tone. He kneels next to the bed and keeps a respectful distance as to not disturb the other male. "I don't know much about medicine and s**t, but I do have a first aid kit. I've had to stitch myself up before." At that statement, the teen glances down at the exposed scars on his wrists and quickly turns his palms downwards to hide them. "I also have some wicked painkillers if you think you need any." Taking care of others isn't a foreign act to Kaede. He spent many of his younger years tending to his newest sibling, changing diapers, feeding them, bathing, cleaning their scrapes and kissing their bruises. This is oddly nostalgic, and it feels kind of nice. But he would never say that.

Battered, bruised, and desperately in need of some food and some sleep, Yuno was in no mood for any more of this hot and cold game Kaede was playing. So when the smaller male decided to try and put on his boss voice again when Yuno was just starting to get comfortable, he felt a growl rumbling in the back of his throat, albeit mostly muffled by the blankets on the bed. He frowned against the bed as Kae, annoyingly, stated to berate him.
"Hey, hey, hey! That is my bed! You get the couch until I can get you a futon tomorrow. You don't get my bed." He sounded downright furious, and for once, Yuno couldn't really blame him. Plopping yourself right down in someone elses comfortable, private space is generally a no-no, particularly amongst instinct-driven, animalistic races like themselves. (Was Kaede an animalistic race?? Yuno still wasn't exactly sure. But he felt like it.) But, as with most things today, Yuno just couldn't find it in himself to give a flying ********. He felt Kae move across the room, closer to him. He tensed his muscles (which they did not appreciate, and his nerve endings made it a point of communicating that displeasure) at the impending touch.

"I swear if he touches me..."
But the push or shove never came. He could feel Kaes body heat, very close, but not quite touching. Was he just standing over him? Was he frightened out of his attempt? He didn't smell the fear, at least not like he had before.

"Um, are you okay? You don't...don't look so good. I don't know much about medicine and s**t, but I do have a first aid kit. I've had to stitch myself up before."
Yuno turned his head slightly to one side, eyeing Kaede from the corner of one exposed eye. He watched Kae give him a little more space and kneel close by. This wasn't a fear response, it was... something else. Yuno couldn't quite place exactly what it was. It vaguely reminded him of Abel, and that gave Yuno a pang of sadness, and then guilt. That may have just been the head trauma though. The head trauma did not prevent Yuno from catching the subtle movement of Kaedes hands as he spoke about stitching himself up. "I also have some wicked painkillers if you think you need any."
Yuno sniffed, turning his eyes away. As expected, the bed just reeked of Kaedes smell. It still felt very foreign to Yuno, but he supposed that he would get used to it soon enough. After a short silence, he pushed himself up with his good arm and turned. He was still, rather deliberately, sitting on the bed, but upright now, and facing Kaede.

"Your bed, huh? Well, my bed is sitting under a warehouse in the southeast district somewhere with the rest of Tacks' stuff, so come off it." Yuno had meant it to sound vicious and commanding, challenging him to argue, but it just came out... tired, and kind of sad. He was still thinking about how the look Kaede was giving him reminded him of Abel, for some reason. He sighed heavily again, pushing his dreadlocks out of his face doing his best to mind the bandages. "But yeah, I'm ok. Just have a cracked skull and a hole in my shoulder. You did actually watch the fight with the gorilla, right? Yuno leveled his eyes on Kaede, but then looked away again. Something about that look in his eyes made him uncomfortable. He liked it better when the kid was arguing with him. This gaze made Yuno squirm. He lowered his voice, practically mumbling. It didn't feel right to keep growling sarcastically at him when he was making that face at him. "So, yeah... you know, pain killers would be good. Medic already stitched it up,so... yeah."

With Yuno in this subdued and almost pathetic state, Kaede is finally able to soak in all those little details about the man before him that he was too terrified to notice before. Like the way the werewolf is constantly sniffing the air -- probably something he does out of instinct to get a better reading on his surroundings. Or how ungraceful the other male's movements are as he tries to not disturb his multiple wounds, yet he still tries to come off as guarded and pugnacious. Kaede had missed the fight that caused that nasty gash on Yuno's back, but he was unlucky enough to witness it gush blood after Kakuzu reopened the wound. How stupid of the teen to not be more sympathetic after seeing the brawler get the s**t beaten out of him. Nevertheless, seeing the taller male so beaten is kind of relaxing in a weird way. It makes Yuno feel more relatable, more human, more vulnerable, more than just this hulking mass of muscle and aggression. But, again, Kaede would never voice any of that. Not in a million years. Especially since he's under the assumption that his slave is an ignorant gay-hater, and saying anything remotely emotional like that would make the coon seem gay. Which he certainly is not.

So, instead, Kaede remains silent and watches with a concerned frown while Yuno moves to sit up. That quip about the bed was probably supposed to be angry, but it just sounds...bitter and sad. The teen actually feels a pang of guilt, forced to see this situation from the werewolf's perspective. Here he is, in a strange place, with a strange boy, after having fought in the illegal arena all night, suffering from several severe wounds. It really ******** sucks, and Kaede looks away shamefully. How could he be so damned insensitive? Oh, right, because they're two macho men that have their prides to uphold or some bullshit. When Yuno speaks again, the coon raises his gaze to make eye contact with pupils that keep shifting away. The mumble that comes from the werewolf is so uncharacteristic that it only causes more unease in the raven-headed boy. Still, he gives an understanding nod.

"O-okay," Kaede replies quietly. He awkwardly stands upright, pauses for a moment, turns away, stops, turns back around, before finally rushing off to the bathroom a few feet away. The sound of the medicine cabinet opening, a silent curse from the boy, and then pill bottles crashing to the floor echo through the apartment. When the teen returns, he has a pill bottle in each hand and glances between the two as they rattle with every step. "I have some Oxycontin and Vicodin. They both might be expired...but they'll still be better than nothing," Kaede offers with a small smile as he approaches Yuno. He holds out the two half-empty bottles for the werewolf to choose, and once a bottle is taken, he lowers his hands and just stands there. He shifts nervously, bringing a hand up to rub at the back of his neck. "Also...I don't think I have any meat. Well, none that isn't freezer-burnt." Kaede looks away with an apologetic frown. "I can salvage what I can and try to make you something to eat. So...you can just...um, I don't know, rest. For a bit-- if you want."

Yuno nodded, grateful that Kaede was being cooperative now, even if it was giving him a weird vibe. He was still trying to figure out why he was reminded of Abel. This kid was Abels polar opposite in every way. Where Abel had been a hulking mountain of a man, Kae was lean and slight. Where Abel was as steadfast as a mountain, Kae seemed fickle as the wind. Abel was stern, commanding, and intimidating. Kae was.... well, nothing like that. So why did that look remind him so much of the older werewolf? He grunted in approval as Kae scurried off to the bathroom, listening to the ruckus and even grinning just a little bit at the sound of the bottles crashing to the floor and Kaes swearing.
                          "Heh. What a ditz..."
When he came back, Yuno offhandedly took one of the bottles - he didn't pay much attention to which - and dumped several pills into his palm. He knocked them back and swallowed them dry, cringing as he did. The wound had been a nasty cut, but clean and manageable. At least it had been, until Kakuzu dug his big greasy fingers into it, and turned it from a cut into a hole. He hoped that if the pills were expired, they weren't too far gone. Who the hell kept expired pills around anyways? Was this kid some kind of junkie? It would explain that vague chemical smell he'd picked up earlier.

He raised his eyes again to find his master just kinda.... standing there, awkwardly. Yuno blinked slowly at him. Was he leading up to something or...?
"Also...I don't think I have any meat. Well, none that isn't freezer-burnt. I can salvage what I can and try to make you something to eat. So...you can just...um, I don't know, rest. For a bit-- if you want." Yuno sighed. His earlier suspicions had been confirmed, it seemed. Kae was the kind of guy who subsisted off of junk.

"Right. Expired pills and freezer burnt food. Got it. So, we're going grocery shopping tomorrow. I dunno this neighborhood, so, you'll have to show me where tha closest one is. Water?" He waved a hand out, motioning for Kae to get him a glass while he continued speaking. "I don't eat junk, it slows me down. You shouldn't either; you'll get fat the moment you turn twenty-three. How old are you anyways? Well nevermind, I guess it doesn't matter. Point is, if I'm gonna keep fighting, I've got to keep up with my habits, you know? I should heal up in a couple weeks, but the moon comes before then, and that always slows things down. Speakin' a' which, you do have some kind of lockroom for the moon, right?"
Yuno stared at Kaede levelly, expecting him to have some half-baked idea that he would need to correct. But surely the kid hadn't dived in completely blind. He had to have some idea about his plans for a werewolf fighter slave other than 'name it fluffy and feed it stale dog biscuits,' right?

"As long as the door is sturdy and there aren't any windows, it should be fi--- woooah, oof," Yuno had started to rise from where he was sitting on the bed, but as he did he got a terrible headrush, and the sore on the back of his skull jammed at his nerved. He staggered, teetering dangerously as though he might fall over, placing one hand on the side of his head. He held his other hand out, managing to steady himself, and then slowly lower himself back into a sitting position on the couch. He kept his hands held up, waiting for the spots in his vision and the vertigo to subside. After a short silence, he exhaled, lowering his hands.
"Okay.... yeah, resting. Sounds like a plan. Groceries tomorrow. For now just.... staying still." Backlash like this was one of the many reasons Yuno hated having multiple fights in a night. Slowly, he laid back on his back, feet dangling off the edge of the bed. The exhaustion was really starting to hit him, and he was having increasing difficulty staying awake. He muttered,
"So.... ya got alla that.... right? What's tha plan...?"

Seeing Yuno grab carelessly for the Oxycontin bottle is a bit worrying to Kaede, and he watches with wary eyes as the werewolf downs more than he probably should have. Well, those pills are more than likely expired anyway. And he's not a normal human. So taking like five of those should be fine, right? Still, the coon can't help but to worry. This situation has triggered some dormant instinct inside of the boy, some innate urge to help and comfort and sympathise. He usually thinks about himself first, his survival being top priority, but now being tasked with the care and life of another person, he's reminded of his days back in the original coon hovel with his ragtag family. However, Yuno is far from looking like any of his siblings or invoking any image of someone needing assistance. So, why does Kaede feel so inclined to fret over him? It's obvious that the other male is more than capable to fend for himself. Even his voice is more steady contrasted against the teen's uncertain tone. For a moment, he ponders just how old his new slave is. He can't be that old. Maybe like thirty?

Kaede blinks when he realises that Yuno is practically ordering his master around. That defiant annoyance resurfaces in the teen, slogging its way through the haze of nurturing urges clouding his mind. That's right. This werewolf isn't some abandoned, lost puppy. He's a rude, volatile, arrogant p***k that is seemingly incapable of expressing any emotions that aren't negative. Did Yuno even thank Kaede for those painkillers? What an a*****e. Still, the boy can't stop himself from turning around and walking the few feet to the kitchen to fetch a glass of water for his demanding slave. There's a look of frustration on the coon's face with his brows furrowed and his lips pressing into a disapproving line. Shouldn't this be the other way around? Well, maybe he can be a bit lenient. After all, Yuno is injured and in a strange place and he is probably exhausted-- wait, no, stop feeling so concerned for that douche. He deserves absolutely no sympathy.

When Kaede returns, another emotion comes over him: that instinctual fear. He stops dead in his tracks just close enough to hand out the glass of water, his feet paralysed with realisation. Yuno mentioning the full moon and his fights reminds his master just what he is, and a sickeningly thick dread sinks into the boy's stomach. s**t. How could he so easily forget just what this man is? He's a predator, a brawler, an animal. And here Kaede is feeling bad for the jerk. The teen is about to stutter out some shitty solution when he watches Yuno try to stand and instead stumble wearily. Instantly, he juts out his free hand as if he could catch or even support the tower of muscle. "U-um, just-- just lie down, okay?" The words sound urgent and laced with panic, but not a scared kind. Kaede just can't seem to suppress the impulse to nurture and care for someone in need, especially when this someone is supposed to be his new property...or something like that. His fingers barely brush Yuno's arm as he retreats to the bed. Just that whisper of a touch sends shivers through Kaede, the skin-on-skin contact triggering his haptic senses. He brings his hand back quickly as if he had been burnt, and tries to hide the reaction with a displeased frown. He certainly can't let all of that crap the other male spewed go without acknowledgement.

"First of all, don't insult my eating habits. You make do with what you have," Kaede speaks up, his tone more timid than he had wanted. It's hard to act defensive when it's actually pretty sad that he's so poor and has to chose between having food or electricity almost every month. "Secondly..." he trails off a bit, looking away and shifting as he stands at the bedside. "You don't...you don't have to continue fighting...if you don't want to. I don't want-- you shouldn't be forced to do something you don't like." Okay, that sounded pretty ******** gay. The teen tenses and looks at Yuno with wide, fearful eyes. "I-I mean...y-you're your own person. Like, technically you are my slave, but you are a living person with rights and s**t. I can't tell you how to live your life," the boy scrambles to clarify his statement, trying his hardest not to sound so sappy. He runs a hand through his messy hair and slowly turns away to begin walking back to the kitchen. "And about the full moon..." Kaede goes quiet, a thoughtful look to his face as he begins grabbing foodstuffs to make something edible for Yuno. "This building has a basement. It's supposed to be off-limits to residents, but I have a way with locks." He flashes a cocky grin at the werewolf before returning to the stove and the ingredients he has spread over the counter. "There is a secluded room down there. It has these thick concrete walls and a wicked metal door. Actually, it may have been built at some point for a werewolf." The teen shrugs, surprising himself with the revelation. Before Yuno, he never gave the room much thought when he had stumbled upon it. But now, it does make a lot of sense that the concrete room's purpose is as a saferoom for werewolves on the full moon.

Kaede goes silent as he works in the kitchen, the sound of food sizzling in a pan filling the void. It's not long before the entire apartment is filled with the scent of cooked beef and...is that tomato? A few minutes later and the teen is bringing two mismatched plates over to the bed where Yuno has sprawling himself out on. When Kaede had gotten that bed, he thought it was huge. He never had a mattress before, and all he could afford was a twin, and it looked just the right size, big even. But with the werewolf there on it, the bed looks so tiny, as if it belongs to a child. It's kind of-- okay no stop there. "Bon appétit?" Kaede offers with an uneasy smile, holding a plate out for Yuno. The food could roughly be called spaghetti. It has noodles (which are shells), a thick tomato-like sauce (made from tomato paste, water, and miscellaneous spices), and an abundance of ground beef that looks like it was supposed to be meatballs (but Kaede doesn't know how to make those, so he thought that making ball shapes out of the beef would work and it obviously didn't). To top it all off, he sprinkled some grated cheddar over it. After Yuno has taken his plate, Kaede takes a seat on the floor next to the bed and begins digging into his considerably smaller portion. Honestly, this is probably the best thing he has eaten in weeks, and it is definitely the first true meal he has made at home in...years? So, his opinion is a bit biased. Still, he can't help feeling uneasy, hoping that his guest feels the same. The teen glances up between bites as he tries to gauge the werewolf's response.

Yuno had noticed the very slight, fleeting touch, even if it was only for half an instant as he was laying back down. Kaede acted like he was some kind of pit viper. That reaction was plenty pleasing, when it came from someone he was going to fight. But from Kae it was just... a little off putting. Yuno was half tempted to inform Kaede that he would only bite him if he asked nicely. But as he laid back on the bed, that heavy weariness swept over him, and he found his eyelids drooping. Even as Kae angrily told him not to knock his food choices, he could feel his consciousness slipping. He nodded as Kae spoke, but only vaguely caught his making mention of not fighting anymore. Not.... fighting? His mind, rapidly shutting down, tried feebly to process what he was saying. What an idiot, slaves didn't have rights... But then everything was dark.

Yuno was the master of catnapping. He did it all of the time between fights and training. He could slip into a deep sleep for all of five minutes, and then wake right back up again. And in times like these, when he really needed it, he slept hard. And during this five minute catnap, he dreamed. He was in the ring again. There was blood everywhere. The smell filled his nostrils, and he smiled. But the ring was empty now, and the crowds were silent. He turned, slowly. It was like the entire world was submerged in murky water; everything was blurry and slowed down. The strong smell of incense was close by, but he couldn't tell where it was coming from. Was it behind him? Yes, it definitely was. But as he turned around, painfully slowly, it must have moved too, because it was still behind him, no matter how far he turned. He started to get angry. Why couldn't he catch it?? He needed to know what that smell was! As he turned and turned, the world went blurry, and suddenly he was crying. He was lost. He was alone, so alone. It was cold, and he just wanted to go home. He knew he shouldn't have run. If he said he was sorry, would it let him catch it? The incense smell got further and further away. He desperately clawed at the air in front of him, trying to go after it. But it was disappearing too quickly, replaced by what smelled like.... pasta?

                          Yunos eyes snapped open again.
                          "Bon appétit?"
He sat up, just a little too quickly, and winced, but turned to see the plate of food Kae was offering him. Some kind of makeshift pasta concoction. It was sloppy at best, and the meat was kinda sloppily clumped up here and there. But Yuno couldn't help but feel happy as he nodded and took the plate. Honestly, he was kind of surprised he'd actually made food for him. Sure, he'd kinda bossed him into it, and he'd even offered to make it for him, but it wasn't something Yuno was used to. Tacks had taught him how to cook when he was fairly young. The fairy had since taken charge of bringing him food and ingredients to work with, but Yuno had always been in charge of cooking for himself (and Abel, sometimes). He couldn't remember the last time someone had cooked anything for him.

"Oh, uh.... yeah, thanks. This'll do."

Since he had only ever dined alone or with Abel, Yuno was blissfully aware that his eating habits were.... maybe a little off-putting. Taking a fork in one hand and the plate in the other, he started shoveling the food into his mouth, swallowing it in gulps and barely chewing. Oh hell, he was hungrier than he'd realized. He wolfed down the pasta in a flash of teeth, and in less than two minutes the plate was clean. Startlingly, despite the display of savagery when eating, Yuno hadn't gotten so much as a drop of tomato sauce on himself. He licked his lips and stood, slowly this time, avoiding the headrush. The nap had helped as well.

"Thanks, that hit the spot. Now, what was I saying before I fell asleep...? Oh, right, groceries. Yeah, the whole 'make do with what you have' s**t isn't gonna fly. Gimme $20, and I can feed us both for a week, and it won't just be junk. Crap like this is just easier, it's not cheaper." He lectured Kaede as he crossed the room, gently depositing the dirtied dishes in the sink. With his good hand, he turned on the water and started rinsing them off. Even though he was trying to be the boss of this guy, he did these things out of sheer habit for taking care of himself. He hated messed, and the little insects that were attracted by dirty dishes sitting in the sinks. "You buy staples and work from those. Meat is the most expensive, but discount works fine, and that farm fish crap is pretty cheap. And forget the frozen vegetables, that crap is terrible. As long as you get the stuff that's on sale, you can get fresh veggies at a really reasonable rate. And there's always a sale on something, it's pretty easy to stay stocked. Rice, lentils, and stock. We'll start with those. Next time you have a little extra cash, we can invest in some spices. That s**t'll take those staples a lot further. You'll probably have more income come in after the next fight-" Yuno paused in his dishwashing, seeming to remember something suddenly. He turned his head, dreadlocks falling from one shoulder as he did so. "Hey, did you say I didn't hafta fight anymore, or did I dream that?"

i wanna ℓσѵє ץσυ, but something's ρυℓℓιɳɢ ɱє αωαץ from you..

As oblivious as Kaede is, it's no wonder that he didn't notice when Yuno all but passed out on his bed. If it isn't food, money, or video games, the teen tends to not care much about anything. And yet, here he is, making food for this a*****e, letting said a*****e lie on his bed, and even letting the a*****e boss him around -- as if he's some ******** doting housewife. It's...really weird and demeaning. And Kaede wishes that all of this would stop being so damn uncomfortable. This whole thing should be going a lot smoother. But, here they are, with the teen standing by quietly as his slave awakens from what appears to have been a fitful rest. If that had been anyone else on his bed, the coon would surely be offended by being ignored. There's a mumble of gratitude from the werewolf that the boy can only blink in surprise at. He falters, in shock and unsure how to respond before closing his mouth with a quick nod and sitting on the floor to eat his meal without a word.

Any annoyance Kaede feels is subdued by his eagerness to see Yuno's response to the food. To say that the boy has a sort of praise fetish is an understatement -- and also something he is vehemently unaware of. He expects the other male to find the whole thing displeasing and disgusting and throw it on the ground in a fit of anger, especially after his earlier quips about inferior 'junk' food. However, that never happens. The boy is taken aback and stares just a little too long as he watches his guest fervently scarf down the food without even breathing. It's kind of funny to watch, and a small amused smile curls Kaede's lips. When Yuno finishes, the teen quickly looks down at his own half-finished plate to avoid being caught staring. Well, the food seems to have been satisfactory, and that thought makes Kaede happier than he would care to admit. The sound of the werewolf standing draws the coon's attention and his eyes follow the other male's back as he walks to the kitchen. Hearing that demanding tone again elicits a reluctant groan from Kaede, and he rolls his eyes in exasperation. He had hoped that making food for Yuno would make him shut up about how sub-par these living conditions are. It's really annoying to have his lifestyle and all the things he has worked hard for and sacrificed so much for insulted like this. He would probably make an angry retort if he wasn't so tired himself.

Still, Kaede can't help admitting that Yuno is making some good points. What would be the harm in allowing the werewolf to buy groceries and make the meals? Isn't that what slaves are supposed to do? "Okay, fine. I have enough money to buy food tomorrow. We'll go out, you pick out whatever, and you can make...whatever." the coon replies in a begrudgingly agreeable tone. He's about to shoot an irritated frown at the other male, but stops when those piercing eyes are suddenly on him.

"Hey, did you say I didn't hafta fight anymore, or did I dream that?" The question isn't accusatory or upset, just curious. Still, Kaede swallows hard before opening his mouth to reply, "Y-yes. I said you can do what you want. You don't have to fight." His words are cautious, scared that maybe his suggestion will come off as offensive somehow. But, who in their right mind actually enjoys hurting others and getting the s**t beaten out of them? The thought of constantly healing from one wound or another churns the boy's stomach, and he carefully places his plate on the floor. "Do you...like fighting?" he asks quietly, not making eye contact. "I mean...doesn't it suck? Being forced to hurt other people...for the entertainment of others. It seems kind of belittling. I just don't want to see you-- " get hurt. Kaede stops, wraps his arms around himself and shakes his head. "Sorry, I don't know where I was going with that," he mumbles as his cheeks blossom with colour. He must be extremely tired. That, or his social ineptness is really showing tonight.

                          ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Yuno kept his sharp eyes trained on his new master as he fumbled for an explanation.
"You can do what you want. You don't have to fight." Huh. That was.... interesting. Yuno turned back to the sink, polishing off the plate and turning off the hot water as Kaede continued to stammer out his logic. That it's demeaning, to be forced to rip people to shreds so assholes like Tacks can get a laugh and a few quick bucks. That was true, he supposed, but the truth was that Yuno had never even considered an alternative.
"I just don't want to see you-- " Yuno paused, not turning back to face him, but stiffened, waiting for the words. He held very still, as if he might miss it if he moved too loudly. But the words never came. "Sorry, I don't know where I was going with that," Yuno slumped his good shoulder and sighed. Silly was it was, Yuno had really hoped to hear those words said. I don't want to see you get hurt. No one had ever said it to him before, but he knew that they must be on someones mind. Why never about him? He turned around to face Kae again, his face not betraying any of the disappointment he felt.

"Yeah, I get it. No one likes their stuff getting broken." As he crossed the room, back towards him again, He saw that the boys cheeks were reddened. He looked like some blushing highschool girl. At least, that was what Yuno assumed blushing highschool girls looked like. He'd never actually seen any himself. But he looked down again, kneeling in front of Kae for a moment, so close that the boy could likely feel his body heat - werewolves tended to run pretty hot, he'd been told - but all he did was reach down, scoop up Kaes dishes off the floor, and stand and return to the sink.
"But do I like fighting....? Huh. Never really thought about it. As he walked back to the sink, he set the dishes in it and started up the water again, contemplating as he did so. What he said was true - he hadn't ever contemplated the possibility of not being a ring fighter. He had long ago accepted his fate - he would fight as often as Tacks could pit him, struggle and scrap to survive, and eventually be pit in a match that he wouldn't walk away from and die in the ring, like Abel had. The possibility of a different ending, of not dying in the fights, had never even crossed his mind. It had been an infallible truth. So where did that leave Yuno now? To consider.

So consider he did. He started with Kaes previous question - did he enjoy fighting? He mulled it over. He hated losing, that was for sure. He hated feeling someone else lording their power over him, and he certainly hadn't liked the feeling of being tossed against the wall earlier like a rag doll. But would he be unhappy if he stopped, never set foot in the ring again? He thought about his adrenaline pumping, his feet pushing against the dirt floors, the feel of his opponents weight beneath him, the satisfying crunch of bone beneath his fists. Did he want to give those up, to be safe? Ad if he did, what would he do with himself? He didn't like the idea of being cut down to a dishwasher and food-prepper. What did Kaede even want with a slave? He supposed it didn't matter. As he finished rinsing Kaedes dish, he turned the water off and turned once more, leaning the small of his back against the counter. He would have crossed his arms, but with his right arm in the sling, he settled for shoving his left in his pocket.

"Yeah, I'll keep fighting." He decided as he said it. "They say to stick to what you're good at, right? 'Sides, it's a good source of extra income. And you've seen how I am in the ring. Won't be able to get in it again till the beginning of next month probably, between the shoulder and the full moon in a couple days. Three days, actually. So you know, I'm not gonna be good for anything next week. I'm just gonna sleep." Yuno narrowed his eyes suddenly, all the force of a dangerous predator suddenly back. "And when I'm sleeping after the moon, DO. NOT. Wake me up. No matter what. Got it?" It was partly Yuno being stubborn; he hated being woken up. But, partly, Yuno asserted this ule so strongly for Kaes sake. After the full moon, Yuno was in near-constant pain for three days, and when disturbed in that state he tended to react with violence. Even Abel, who knew the dangers of disturbing another werewolf, had almost lost an eye.

With the distance between the two, Yuno is a mere blur in Kaede's s**t vision, making any of the former's responses indecipherable. Thus, the smaller boy keeps his head bowed, staring intently at the wood grain of the floor. He doesn't want to risk making eye contact after that embarrassing little slip. And with how poor his eyesight is, he can't quite gauge whether or not the werewolf was able to interpret his words. It's so frustrating. Kaede had imagined this all going a lot differently. Acquiring his first slave isn't supposed to feel so humiliating and peculiar. He should be experiencing nothing but excitement and accomplishment. Instead, here the coon sits, cross-legged and hunched over with burning cheeks and a fluttery chest. Damn feelings.

But, what is so wrong with having emotions, and caring, and being kind? Oh, yea, that's right. Those are signs of weakness. Compassion is a one-way ticket to inevitable pain and eventually death. In this world, there is no room to stop and help someone in need. Kaede has to focus on his own survival. That was why he wanted a slave to begin with. Being at the bottom of the food-chain, the boy has been nothing but a punching bag, prey for the stronger urchins of the slums. Not a day goes by where he doesn't come home with new bruises, a busted lip, a black eye, a cut along his forearm that will probably get infected. In this world, Yuno is his slave, his new body guard, and nothing more. There can't be anything more.

"Yeah, I get it. No one likes their stuff getting broken."

Kaede stiffens at those words, hears the bitterness lined with...disappointment? No, that isn't what he meant at all. But, maybe it's better this way. Yuno would surely make fun of his master for being so soft. The sound of heavy footsteps causes the coon to whip his head up, eyes round and still a bit anxious. He's hit with an overwhelming heat and blinks in surprise as his vision adjusts to the sight of Yuno kneeling so close. Something musky, earthy, with a hint of cinnamon envelops the teen. He's paralysed, unmoving, only staring up at the man with his majestic mane of dreadlocks. Why is he so close? Why are his eyes so intense? And just like that, the spell is broken, and the warmth and comforting aroma dissipate along with Yuno's retreating back. It takes a moment for Kaede to close his mouth, turn his ruddy face away, and rub the awe from his eyes. He's tired, he has to be exhausted, that would explain all of this odd behaviour.

With Yuno back in the kitchen, Kaede pivots his body and leans his torso across his mattress, arms sprawled and cheek resting on his crumbled sheets while his hair spreads out like a black halo. He listens sleepily to the sound of dishes clinking, finally realising that the big burly werewolf is washing the dishes. The thought makes the younger male smile in amusement, and he wishes that he could actually see the action. But, he ultimately decides that it would be awkward to just hover by the sink, watching with a smirk while his new slave cleans. Yuno would definitely reward Kaede with an annoyed remark, or even a displeased shove. Something about that interaction feels nice, almost a bit too nice. Before the boy can dwell on his inability to interact with other people, a yawn cracks his jaw and reminds him that he is running almost on E. His internal clock tells him that the sun will probably rise soon.

Before his eyes can drift shut, Kaede hears Yuno's voice. He stirs groggily, moving just enough to peer at the werewolf from his comfortable position leaning against the bed. That declaration to continue fighting would have sounded valiant, cool even, if the boy had been more coherent. But in his sleepy state, the coon can only give a half-assed nod and a small smile. "Sounds good...to me," he mutters before yawning again. Kaede wills himself to sit up fully, stretching his arms over his head and letting out a quiet groan when his back cracks satisfyingly. Yuno's order to not be disturbed after the full moon elicits a giggle from the younger male, completely oblivious to the sharp warning. "Aw, you big ol' grumpy puss," Kaede teases sleepily. He giggles some more before finally looking at Yuno (or rather, the hazy shape of Yuno) and waving a hand dismissively. "'Tis fine. I don't like to be woken up either." He opens his lips, but another yawn cuts him off, and he brings a hand up to cover his mouth. "Goddamnit...I'm ******** tired," he mumbles, moving to lie his head on the bed again. "Aren't you tired? You were fighting all night. You beat...so many." The teen's eyes are shut, his hands resting limply in his lap. "You're strong...really ******** strong." Kaede's words get quieter and quieter as his exhaustion begins to suck him into unconsciousness. When did he get so tired? It's not that late, is it? Maybe it was from all of the excitement. "You'll...keep me...safe," he sighs, finally succumbing to his weariness.

Yuno wasn't accustomed to.... being giggled at. He arched an eyebrow at Kaede as he did so. Clearly, the boy was just too sleepy to appreciate the deep rumble in Yunos voice, the stern growl, the clear threat in his tone. Otherwise, there was no way the boy would have smiled so dully, nodding along agreeably without a hint of fear or reprehension at the words. And the werewolf was certainly not used to being called a... a...
"...Grumpy puss??" He muttered, staring at Kaede in open confusion at this light treatment, as his new master continued to let lazy words tumble out of his mouth between yawns, clearly struggling to stay awake.
"'Tis fine. I don't like to be woken up either."
Yuno kept his eyes on the younger man as he continued to mutter, falling asleep even as he spoke. "Aren't you tired? You were fighting all night. You beat...so many."
"Only four." Yuno responded gruffly, correcting Kae, although he was pretty sure the boy didn't catch what he said. He listened intently at his last muttering before he succumbed to sleep.
"You're strong...really ******** strong. You'll...keep me...safe." And just like that, Yuno decided that the words were true. Kae drifted off into sleep, leaving Yuno alone with his thoughts in the foreign apartment.

It was what Abel had taught him. It was the boss' job to keep everyone else safe. That was the way real wolves did it. He remembered, clearly, when Abel told him about the way wolf packs moved when they traveled. "They walk in a line, and who do you think is in the front of it?" He'd asked him. Stupidly, Yuno had blurted out that the alphas did, naturally, which had earned him a reprimanding smack on the head. "No, ya idiot." The bigger werewolf had growled. "The elderly do. If the strong ones lead and set the pace, the weaker ones get left behind, and that ain't how things work. Wolves look after each other, get it?" He'd nodded, pouting and rubbing his head. "So the elderly are at the front, and then the pups and then the able-bodied after them, protecting their rear and the weak. The alphas don't come 'till the very end of the line. You know why, Yuno-pup?" He'd shook his head. "'Coz from the back they can see everyone in front of 'em. They can see the ones they've gotta protect, guard them, and direct them, bring up the rear and make sure no one gets left. That's the boss' job." And Yuno had leapt up then, saying he'd stay at the back then, and be the boss, and Abel had smacked him again, saying "Idiot, no you're not, that's me. I'm the one protecting you."

But Abel wasn't here anymore. Abel was dead. And even if it wasn't much of a wolf pack, Yuno and this scrawny kid, he was still the boss, whether Kaede liked it or not. That meant it would be his job to watch Kaes back. So he would. Watching him asleep and helpless, breathing quietly with his torso splayed on the bed, Yuno vowed that no harm would come to him as long as he was alive. He'd rip to pieces anyone who thought they would touch him or take what was his. Yuno would unleash all hell, all savagery, all of his righteous fury and hate and wrath on them and rip them asunder, but never Kae. No one was allowed to touch him anymore. After watching him for a few moments, Yuno sighed.
"Yeah, sure, fall asleep. I know where everything is." He grumbled, pouting at being left to his own devices. The werewolf tried to stifle a yawn, and failed. Watching Kae yawn over and over and drift off to sleep had made Yuno really sleepy as well. He looked back and fourth, wondering if there were any spare clothes laying around that he could use. But the apartment was clean, and even if there were any, there was no way that anything of Kaes would fit Yuno. He'd already lost his shirt, so Yuno shrugged, minding his sling as he undid his pants and pulled his heels out of his shoes. He peeled himself out of his pants and kicked the shoes to one side, laying the pants across the arm of the couch - he wasn't sure where else to put them. With his good arm he reached up and untied his hair, letting his long dreads fall loosely over his shoulders and down his back. In nothing but his boxers then, Yuno knelt next to Kae again, carefully scooping him up in his one available arm, cradling him carefully against his muscled chest, and laid him down in the bed properly, even going so far as to tug the blankets over him. He was the boss. It was his job to look after the ones weaker than him.

But damn, he was tired. So, with another little yawn, Yuno clambered over Kaes sleeping form and plopped down onto the bed next to him. It wasn't really a bed made for two, so Yuno positioned himself right against Kae; he was so sound asleep, he wouldn't mind. He pushed one arm under the pillows under Kaes head, keeping the arm in his sling positioned carefully on his chest, and wiggled his feet under the blankets. He sighed, staring up at the ceiling. He lived here now, he supposed. With one last yawn and the feel of Kaes body pressed against him, his eyes fluttered and he let himself drift off into deep sleep, grinning just a little as he thought,
"Dumb kid didn't even change clothes."

Everything is warm and fuzzy and wonderful, and Kaede possesses not a single care in the world. He's grinning ear to ear, or rather, he thinks he is. His pupils are blown wide with excitement, yet he has no ******** idea where he is. He feels so light and bubbly, as if he could easily float away into the dazzling nothingness of whatever this bizarre place is. It's nice, so ******** nice, and somewhere underneath the warmth Kaede can feel trepidation begin to swirl. Where is he? But, it hasn't quite broken the surface yet. So he'll continue to relish the bright unexplainable happiness that blankets him and try not to acknowledge his anxiety in this lovely purgatory.

Kaede remains blissfully ignorant, merely stretching his limbs out and lying in the nothingness. He stares up at the blinding brilliance above him and tries not to think about the eerie lack of direction in this place. However, the apprehension continues to creep upon him. It's not long before the boy can feel his body begin to tense, his eyes shift around trying to pinpoint some object to ground himself. But there is just nothing. The gentle warmth is no longer soothing, and instead he starts to wonder if he has somehow ended up on the surface of the sun or in the pit of a volcano. His skin suddenly feels too hot and sticky, like it's melting off of his skeleton. Kaede squirms a bit as desperation sets in. He needs to get out here -- wherever here is. If he doesn't, he'll surely turn into a puddle of flesh and blood. After jerking about for a while to no avail, the boy feels a whimper bubbling in the back of his throat. Is he dead? No, no, he can't be. This isn't the end, he's still alive, he can hear his pulse in his ears. But wait, he can feel another pulse. It's muffled, but definitely there and definitely not his own. So whose--?

And just like that, Kaede's eyes snap open. The first thing he notices is an overwhelming aroma of musk and cinnamon that encompasses his entire body. It's a faintly familiar scent, but in his half-awake state, the boy can't quite comprehend what it belongs to. Then, he becomes discernibly aware of how revoltingly sweaty he is. He lets out a distressed whimper, absolutely despising the sensation of being overheated and having his clothes stick to his skin. Speaking of which...he fell asleep fully-clothed. Kaede frowns in annoyance as he moves to sit up and free himself from his shirt. However, as he jostles about, he quickly becomes conscious of the firm thing behind him. He instantly freezes, his heartbeat faltering and his breath hitching nervously in his chest. As the boy stills himself, he realises that said thing is actually a living person. And like a switch turning on a lightbulb, he comes to a foggy realisation.

Just a wee frantic, Kaede rolls himself off the bed and makes a painfully loud thud as he hits the floor. He scrambles to put distance between himself and his bedmate, flopping around onto his a** just to confirm exactly who is in his bed. And who else would it be other than Yuno, the gruff werewolf he brought home from the fighting rings the night before. The events of the fights and bet all seem like a blur, a hazy fever dream or hallucination that didn't actually happen because objectively good things like this didn't happen to him. But the fact that the man in question slumbers peacefully on his bed right there confirms that, yes, last night did indeed happen and Kaede is now the proud owner of this intimidating brawler. Nevertheless, the boy is still frazzled, his cheeks flushed a bright pink as his chest heaves with uneasy breaths. Why exactly is Yuno in his bed? There's a perfectly good couch right there! Why did Yuno decide to squeeze onto the small mattress with his master instead of sleeping on the couch or moving the smaller boy over there? It just doesn't make any sense!

"Why...why are...WHY ARE YOU IN MY BED??!" Kaede forces out, desperate confusion disrupting his rational train of thought; Yuno's threats from last night clearly fell on deaf ears. The boy groans and buries his flustered face in his hands, fingers sliding across his sweaty face. He feels so gross and uncomfortable and this is the worst morning ever. Kaede peeks through his fingers and finds his eyes drawn to the werewolf's...exposed skin. The darker flesh is a map of scars and the outline of defined muscles dusted with black hair. He stares just a bit too long, his eyes lingering...there. Some kind of inhuman squeak escapes Kaede's throat as he retreats behind his hands once more. He had felt something pressing against his backside, but didn't give it much thought at the time. However, seeing Yuno there in only his boxers, the teen quickly puts two and two together. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Yuno was dreaming again. This time, he wasn't in a fighting ring. He was in that old room Tacks used to keep him in. It was dark and dingy, wallpaper brittle and peeling from the walls, scoured by deep gouges everywhere. He was small and weak. He pulled his knees up to his chest. Everything hurt. He heard someone enter into the room behind him. "Look at me." Yuno shook his head and buried his face in his knees. He couldn't look. He knew that if he looked, he would lose everything all over again. The eyes would take everything from him and he was sure he would cease to be. "Look!" He could feel them coming closer, they were right behind him, standing over him, staring at him. But Yuno wouldn't look. He wouldn't, he couldn't. He wouldn't see those eyes and that cheshire smile. "Look at me, boy. Look!" Yuno opened his mouth to speak, but the voice that came out wasn't his.
"I just don't want to see you-- " but the rest of the words died in his throat. As if he'd said a mantra to cast out a demon, the presence behind him was suddenly no longer menacing. He turned and looked, and it was Abel standing over him, scarred face and grizzled expression full of concern masked by annoyance. But he reached down with that big hand and patted him on the head, not a reproachful smack like usual. Yuno practically purred, leaning into the touch.
"I miss you." This time it was his own voice that left his lips, and the apparition of Abel nodded solemnly. He leaned down and hugged him. He felt safe and warm, and he knew that everything was going to be okay. And then, in the odd manner of dreams, without moving, he was suddenly the one doing the embracing, rather than being embraced. So warm and small and soft. Everything would be all right. He would make sure of it. But then there was a tugging, a squirming. Yuno furrowed his eyebrows. And suddenly, the warmth was yanked away. As he reached out after it, Yunos consciousness vaguely started to bubble back up to reality, back to being awake. Ugh, but he was so comfortable! He didn't open his eyes, even as he heard Kae fall off the bed with a loud thump, instead pushing his face further into the pillows. Mmm, no nice and soft and warm, yes.
"Why...why are...WHY ARE YOU IN MY BED??!"

Yuno winced at the loud noise hitting his sensitive ears, pulling a pillow over his head with a throaty snarl and pushing it over his ears. God, why did he hafta be so loud and obnoxious first thing in the.... what was it now, afternoon? Who knew. Yuno was thoroughly agitated, growling to himself as he wiggled a little deeper into the bed, hoping his tiny master would take the damn hint that he still wanted to sleep, not seeing the boys eyes lingering over his form, or zeroing in on a particular ******** style="color: #142652">"Oh MY ******** shut the ******** UP!"
Yuno snarled, sitting up suddenly and smacking Kae in the face with a projectile pillow. He growled as he rubbed his eyes hazily, glaring at the young man being so obnoxiously loud. Yuno continued to growl and swear to himself as he swung his long legs over the edge of the bed and stood, wincing as he moved his wounded shoulder for the first time that morning. Damn, it was sore. But his head didn't hurt so badly, so that was good at least. He glowered down at Kaede, making his distaste known, not even realizing that the typical, morning stiffness pressing against his boxers would be in any way uncomfortable for the smaller man. He turned away, lumbering towards the bathroom with another growl of malcontent, overwhelmed with the need to urinate. He was just grateful that the apartment was so small he couldn't forget where the bathroom was.

He went in and slammed the door behind him, quickly making short work of his business and relieving himself, still grumbling as he put a hand on the wall to lean over the toilet. When he was done, he thoroughly washed his hands, and splashed water over his face, accidentally making the bandages still wound around his head soggy. With a groan of agitation, he yanked them off of his head with a wince, reaching his good hand back to feel at the back of his skull. It had already scabbed over, so he decided to let it be. The real thing to worry about was the hole in his back. Damn that gorilla, if he'd just let it be a cut, it would heal so much faster and cleaner. He glanced across the counter and realized that, oh yeah, literally none of his stuff was here. So that meant he couldn't brush his teeth, or floss, and he had no idea what the kids idea of breakfast was. Probably some sugary cereal. Bluh. Yuno pulled his hairband on his wrist and started to tie his dreadlocks back, but quickly realized that he wouldn't be able to with only one arm. He growled again leaving the bad in its place and his long hair down as he exited the bathroom again.

"I need you to tie my hair back. I can't do it with one hand." He declared bluntly, crossing the room stiffly and taking a seat on the couch, still unaware that there would be any issue with Yuno walking around in nothing but his boxers.
