Who were the Negaverse? Why did they fight? Erytheia was pondering this as he was out again on patrol. He had met a few beings of Chaos now, but they mostly used words just so that they could lure him into a false sense of security. He had tried to question one once before, but the answer he got wasn't straightforward at all. It was as if some didn't have motives at all other than to kill and destroy. But that couldn't be right. He shook his head as he sensed a faint dark aura in the distance. He would be more cautious this time. ✪

Arseno sighed as he climbed back onto the rooftop after draining his victim. This was starting to get tedious and annoying. He may have just been a lieutenant but didn’t they realize that they had lives outside the negaverse? How was he supposed to study for his classes when he had the dumb quota to meet?
He sighed, hoping to be able to get back to his apartment quickly and study for a quiz he had tomorrow in one of his classes. It was at that moment though he felt the presence of one of those knights and sighed. Another battle once again. Honestly would this be repeated every time he drained someone? He tried looking in the direction of where he felt the aura coming from, but could see no one so far.

Erytheia could see the man now. Certainly of the Negaverse. Would they have to fight though? He pondered this as he got within range. He wouldn't attack first. That being as it was, he would not be without his weapon. It sounded gently in his hands. ✪

Arseno had a hard time trying to spot where the aura was emanating from, but decided to take a guess as to which direction he would find the page. He wasn’t planning on fighting, at least if he didn’t have to. Usually that led to him leaving the fight with more wounds than his opponent.
He couldn’t wait for that weapon upgrade.
He had moved for just a little bit when he managed to spot someone, and it seemed the aura was coming from them. Arseno stopped, wondering what the other’s first move would be.

Erytheia had been fooled once before. He had been attacked while talking during what he thought would be a friendly encounter with a member of the Negaverse. Perhaps he would have to attack, even though he didn't want to. But he couldn't risk the man harming anyone else. Swinging his incense burner, he hoped to just blind him and scare him off. He didn't want a battle, but knew he couldn't just do nothing either. ✪

Arseno wondered if he should get closer to the person even though their aura was telling him that he would be in for a fight. He was still trying to decide when the person started to swing… something around. He couldn’t really tell, but he doubted it was a friendly gesture.
But something was going on. Was it this foggy before? He wondered to himself, as the area seemed to get a bit denser and more opaque. It was a bit hard to even see the other’s figure now, though he wondered if it was just because it was so dark and his eyes hadn’t adjusted yet.

The man wasn't leaving. Erytheia would have to do something. "I would prefer not to fight." The page of Cosmos made himself visible now to the officer. "But I can also not allow you to collect energy here."Now he had done it. He had made the first move. Erytheia couldn't get himself out of it now no matter how much he wanted to. ✪

This ‘not wanting to fight’ thing seemed to be a theme with all of these knights and white moon senshi he ran into. Out of all of his fights so far, he had only managed to find two that actually were willing to attack, though with the squire it seemed to be an out of character thing to do so.
And he knew he had to collect some energy tonight, even if he hadn’t seen anyone around yet that would have made a good target. It seemed though that the strategy of knights and senshi was persuading one to just leave for the night, hoping that they would give up on collecting any energy.
However, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to fight that well considering he couldn’t see more than a couple of inches in front of him. So should he run to another area? The page though would probably just follow his aura and he wouldn’t be able to power down.
No, he would have to fight this guy, win or lose. “I would prefer not to fight either, but I doubt you would give up so easily if I just left. So unfortunately we’re going to have to settle this somehow.” Arseno replied as he summoned his weapon.

Erytheia watched as the lieutenant summoned his weapon. It would be much like his own. No magic, but that didn't mean it couldn't be used. Magic or not, these were still weapons. "I wish you wouldn't have come here." There was some part of him that still wanted to talk this thing out. Somehow avoid a fight. Yet, as the page twirled his incense burner on its chain in the man's direction in warning, he knew he couldn't just avoid every battle. It was his duty to protect innocent civilians and it was foolish to think he could do so without sacrificing anything in return. ✪

Well at this point I’m wishing I hadn’t come here either. Arseno thought to himself as the two continued to stand there, waiting for the other to make the first move. “I can’t help it. It must be done, I have a quota to meet and even if I don’t totally agree with it, I must drain energy. It’s just… not possible to stop.”
He would be punished if he did not do his duty of draining the energy of civilians and others who were against the negaverse. And he wouldn’t be able to escape that punishment either. Even if he managed to avoid anyone in the negaverse for a while, they would be able to track him down eventually.

Erytheia knew he had to make the first move. He was the one who wanted the man to leave, after all. Spinning the incense burner for some leverage, he threw it at the officer while gripping the end of the chain so as not to lose it. For an attack, it all seemed too delicate. "How can you hurt someone if you are not sure of what you are doing?"The question almost seemed partly to himself as to the man he was trying to ward off. ✪

Arseno barely managed to dodge the burner once he realized that it was being thrown his way, and took a jump back to get out of range, just in case there would be a follow up, attack.
Well, it was time to fight now it seemed. He would have to make sure that the burner didn’t get wrapped around his cane, or else he would probably lose it. He tried to look through the fog to be able to get an idea of where the man was, but he still could not see the stranger. He tried moving farther out to the sides and moving in a circle to see if he could see the stranger better at some other location.
“There are plenty of ways they convince you to hurt others for their cause. Usually it doesn’t end well for you.” Here we go again Arseno thought to himself as he continued to move. Practically every white moon knight or senshi he went up against told him that he could leave the negaverse.
It just wasn’t that easy! He was starting to miss that smaller senshi who just attacked him because he was a ‘bad guy’. At least that kid just got to the point quickly.

The smoke from his burner was running out. Soon Erytheia would be fighting face-to-face with an agent of the Negaverse for the first time on even ground. "What convinced you?"There was no more time to buy now. He recalled the other lieutenant he had faced. That person had been a knight like himself before turning to the other side. He had a story that involved love. This man's story seemed to suggest less noble means. ✪

Arseno could only sigh. “You mean besides the obvious of beating you up? Knowing what…” He couldn’t totally reveal the plan could he? “Knowing what they have in store for those who are go against their wishes?” But he knew that he hadn’t been totally convinced by the threat of beatings or how powerful the Negaverse really was. “Or… the fact that they want to at least protect this planet and are perfectly fine and willing to use those who would like to destroy this planet for their own selfish desires.” Perhaps the Negaverse was just as bad in that respect, but they at least had a goal in mind as to HOW to save the planet.
All the white moon did was protect the humans. “I have no love for those who protect humans. Yes, many are innocent, but I’m too tired of waiting and watching and doing the little I can to try to save the death spiral this world is in. I want to do MORE. And if that means I have to help the Negaverse to do so then I WILL. If joining the Negaverse to get that power to make a change is what I have to do then… I will stay.”
Something was definitely changing. He had never been like this before. Sure, he still didn’t believe that the white moon was that bad and sure, the Negaverse really didn’t have the nicest of people within it but he was tired of people defending the ‘innocent’ humans. He was done watching and waiting for everyone to change. If he had to hurt a few to be able to make that change then he was perfectly willing to do so at this point. He was starting to get a bit more worked up at this point, and was thinking that perhaps he might run away now. Adrenaline wasn't a good thing in a fight and he wasn't able to properly channel anger at this point either.
His mind had been changing in the past few months. He hadn’t really wanted to be with the Negaverse and had gathered energy out of fear at first, afraid of his family and what may happen to him if he decided to go against them. But now it wasn’t so bad and he found himself starting to agree with them!

Erytheia was surprised. The agent of the Negaverse that stood in front of him seemed to be rationalizing his position as he stood there. The page of Cosmos saw, if a bit briefly, a version of himself when he first joined and accepted himself as a knight. Questions and answers given by someone else and the failing hope of understanding them. He had never met anyone on the chaos side of the dichotomy that was even willing to rationalize it the way this man was. "The world... What is happening to it? What is this death spiral? How can you be willing to hurt the innocent to save it?"✪
