His sapphire eyes blinked slowly to adjust to the sun's light that began to peek through the entrance to the cave. His ears swivel at the sounds of birds flying by the entrance. He rose to his paws, stretching out, and shaking off the dusty from his night of sleep. Walking proud towards the valley below his home, the black wolf was in search of his breakfast. The leaves flew gracefully towards the ground as summer was beginning to descend into fall. "Seems the cold days are coming..." Speaking in almost a whisper as if someone was listening to him. Making his way towards the creek near his more, the wolf began to drank in silence.

Kachina had risen earlier then normal and was trotting through the trees to her secret place. She was anxious to get there, she had held back her voice for too long and she felt ready to burst. Luckily a few days earlier she came across a small glen where the flowers bloomed beautifully. She wanted to sing for them before they hid for the winter. She finally arrived to the glen and glanced around to make sure there wasnt anyone around. She bent down in a bow to the lone tree that provided some shade on the far side of the glen and whispered, " I promised Id come sing for you, I always keep my promises." She smiled as she came up from her bow and then shook her hooves to make sure her bells were in place.

She stood silent for a moment, her eyes closed until a light breeze played in her hair and her small bells started to sing. She took a leap moving more into the sun and began to dance gracefully amongst the flowers, her bells accompanying her. After a short time of dancing she let the song from her heart loose.
"My life goes on in endless song
Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation."

She danced to her hearts content and smiled brightly to her flower friends as she entered her own world, where there was no pain and suffering and everyone was happy. She completely lost herself in her song as the wind danced with her and her bells sang.
"Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?

Moro heard the birds begin to fly off from their foraging close by. He bared his fangs in case a traveling skin walker had found it's way into his territory. He sniffed the blowing breeze to find a pleasant scent floating through his nostrils. It wasn't anything like that of an evil being. It was soft like roses and kind as if there were butterflies. His black ears swiveled to the sound of bells along the breeze. His sapphire eyes gave a gleam of curiosity as he began to flow the sound in silent steps. His paws touched the ground as if a feather was falling. Softly and silently. His large black tail swished, side to side with every step.

Moro had stopped not far from what sounded to be singing along the winds. He would think the harpies had sent a siren to capture him. His strength was something they would want in their bloodline. He moved close enough to see the singing had been coming from a smallish mare of blue and pink. He tilted his head slightly to the left as he was slightly entranced in her song. He could feel the flowers from under his toes. "Such a lovely voice..." Speaking aloud, even if it was loud enough for the mare to hear.

The winds died, the rustling in the tress silenced. Someone was nearing the glen, but she continued to dance on while she hummed her melody. She lept through the air her bells rejoicing as her dance slowed. She twirled around and stopped facing the entrance of the glen but her eyes were shut. It wasnt until words drifted to her ears as she finished her dance in a bow and kneeling down. Her eyes snapped open and she saw a black stallion at the entrance of the glen.

She was frozen for a few seconds and she stood quickly, her bells ringing echoing her frantic movements. She started to back up as she spoke still spooked. "How long have you been there??", she started and looked around her to confirm her surroundings. She looked at him longer and saw he looked a little ominous, especially with his tail and wait Paws? She would never judge on looks alone but she'd only heard of purewalkers that had paws. She almost panicked, but instead she took a few steps closer. She saw something else in his piercing eyes.....and it wasnt evil. "You are not a walker.....definitely not evil.", she said more to herself then him.

She continued towards him calmly now that her heart calmed. She gave a soft smile, "Do forgive me Sir, I was startled. I didnt realize I was near someones home, do forgive me disturbing you. Forgive my manners, my name is Kachina." She stopped a few feet from him and gave a small bow to him.

The mare's dance and the sound of the bells had the wolf in a trance as if she had charmed the beast within him. He got close enough to the entrance to the glen as he watched her. He became entranced by the color of her eyes after she had finished her dance.

Becoming slightly startled when she spoke to him. He blinked in confusion as she began to look around at her surroundings. His mind clicked into a thought that she might of seen him as a threat. "You need not be afraid, young miss." Speaking in his soft spoken voice, but it was gentle to the ears. "I have been here long enough to watch you sing and dance to your heart's content." Answering the question honestly with no hint of lie in his tone of voice nor his sapphire eyes. He gave a low bow out of respect to the young mare. "Nay not need to apologize for enjoying yourself in the home of mother Gaia. Please, you may address me as Moro." He spoke with such respect it would seem that he was royalty. "Kachina... What a lovely name to match a joyous soul." He said with a little grin.

"You are welcome here anytime you wish to sing to Mother Gaia. My lands are free to those who are of light and love. Those who are born of hate and evil will be chased out. Need not fear of those around here." Moro tried to reassure the mare, Kachina. He wanted those who entered his territory to feel welcomed. He looked over his shoulder towards the creek then back to the mare. "You must be parched. May I escort you to the creek for a refreshment?" Asking as he moved slightly closer to her.

When the stallion spoke it took her a back slightly for his voice was much softer and gentler then one would expect. She smiled softly as he spoke and couldnt help but blush and moved dirt under her hoof just a bit embarrassed. "Your words are very kind, I thank you for them. You are very kind Moro and now that you mention it, water sounds like heaven.", she said with a gentle laugh. She was happy to have met this kind stallion, and he proved true to the saying 'you cant judge a soul based on looks alone'. She may not have encountered true evil, but she could tell by his eyes that he was good.

She thought back to some of his earlier words and a frown came to her face thinking to stories her father told her, not only of skinwalkers but also 'the flock' as they were referred to. " 'Those born of hate and evil', have you any encounters with any? And I must confess upon first glance seeing your paws I almost mistook for one such as that, but I can see I was very wrong. I still must apologize for that, even if they were my thoughts alone." She knew it may not amount to much, but she prided herself on being honest with others, she didnt believe in holding any falsehoods, especially when she saw one such as Moro who had kind eyes, though something else lingered in his gaze. Was it loneliness? Either way something pulled her to him and she hoped they could be friends and wished that nothing would taint that possibility.

"Right this way, M'lady Kachina." Moro said as if his words were like silk; soft and smooth. He began to walk towards back the creek he drinks from when he wakes and before he rests his eyes. He was slightly larger than Kachina, but must darker in comparison. He was taken back slightly from the fair mare's question. He looked away with an expression of sadness and hurt. "The worst kind of hate and evil... I had been separated from my twin brother when we were only foals. I was captured by what are called skin walkers. Beings of true evil that cover their bodies with a second skin..." He spoke with a twinge of fear and sorrow in his voice. He looked back at the mare when she talked about his paws. He had always had a deep feeling of that others had paws, claws, or hooves.

"Nay not need to apologize for something you haven't seen before. I may look as if I am a monster, but I assure you that I would never harm you. I may have paws and sharp teeth, but they are for fighting off danger and evil." Moro spoke as he kept the memory of the skin walker from resurfacing. "Though I appreciate your honest, M'lady Kachina. It is a rare trait to find these days." He added with a smile.

"What brings you out to the glen of the mountains?" The black wolf asked as he stopped by the creek. He began to drink for he still needed a refreshment after her performance.

She listened to his story, skin walkers she had heard many tails but had lucked out in not crossing paths with one in her travels. She could hear the pain and sorrow as he spoke of his past. She had many siblings herself and couldnt imagine being seperated from them, though one older brother was taken from them, but it was before she was born so she cant truly feel the loss herself.

Her own eyes grew sad the more she listened but he thought himself a monster?! No that wasnt right! She didnt interupt him but after hearing him see himself as such, the rest of his words were muffled in her ears. He had such a bright soul, even through the turmoil in darkness.....she trotted in front of him suddenly moments after he stopped speaking. Her eyes were watery at thought of the loneliness and heartache he had been through from such a young age and she couldnt hold back.

"Monster?! Dont say such things about yourself, that couldnt be further from the truth! You dont look like a monster at all, dont do that to yourself. Dont leave yourself in the darkness, its not fair to yourself......", stray tears flowed down her cheeks. She wasnt sure why she let it affect her so, but she couldnt stand for him being so sad and thinking he may always be seen as a monster. She lowered her head and turned around not wanting to face him. She looked back her eyes downcast and quietly spoke again. "Im sorry, that was out of line. I got away from myself. As for your question, I travel a lot. I love learning about different cultures and their histories and Im always looking to learn lore and new songs and dances where I go." She still had her eyes downcast and was blushing again but tried to give a small smile.

Moro was completely taken back by the words she spoke. His eyes went wide as she spoke about darkness. It was as if she were in his paws. It was an odd thought of meeting someone with the same views as himself. Being alone was something he had learned to find comfort in after being separated by his twin brother, Ashitaka. He shook the thought from his mind, but because frozen when he noticed tears form in the young mare's eyes.

Once she turned back to face him, Moro draped his large fur cloak upon her shoulders. "Nor is it fair to a young maiden to put her heart into the darkness of others..." Speaking as he used his tail to wipe away any stray tears. "There is no need to cry... Even in darkness, there is always a light that will never go out." He told Kachina with a fanged smile.

"You are free to stay as long as you wish to learn more about the lands here. The birds and the wind shall teach you their ways, just listen." Moro spoke as a little blue humming bird began to dart from flower to flower with such grace and speed. "You are free to ask more about myself or these lands, M'lady Kachina." He added to show that there was nothing to be afraid of.

She blushed as he wiped the tears that escaped her eyes and lightly fell down her cheeks. He spoke true, light would always be there. She also knew there couldn't be light without darkness. She smiled back at him and couldnt help but think he was cute with his fangs when he smiled. Of coarse she wouldn't say that out loud.

Now that she was calm again she took a deep breath and moved to his side so he could continue on leading her. She stayed silent for just a moment longer before clearing her throat. "I appreciate your kindness and I shall explore these lands thoroughly. I can be very studious at times.", she said with a bright smile. Her more chipper self had returned, so much that she trotted ahead of him and started to slowly walk backwards so she could see him better whilst talking.

"So, your brother....Is he your only sibling? What is his name and from your foalhood what was he like, does he look a lot like you? I just thought that I could keep an eye out for one meeting his description and maybe help find him and tell him where you are. Its a terrible thing for families to be separated. What about your parents? If you were separated as foals.....never mind you dont have to answer that....im too...." She was unable to finish her sentence as she suddenly found herself landing with an *Ahh-THUD* on her rump in the dirt. Walking backwards wasnt the best idea in the forest as there are stray logs ripe for tripping over.
