Vengeance of Night Captain

June 9, 2015 0636 hours
The morning was cold, misty of sort. The sky loomed as if it was a grey wall that blocked the natural blue from the daylight. Sitting near a plane fueling recession, a halted private aircraft could be seen in the middle of Gotham's airport. The jet-plane's entrance manifold propped open to the wet cement. The Gotham breeze seeped into the cabin, filling the passengers and pilots the polluted air of the dark city. Three passengers were on board: eccentric billionaire Bruce Wayne, his loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, and another passenger that may seem out of place, a twenty year old girl named Ariadne Talia Marcos. Former ward and daughter of critically acclaimed musical artist Gino Marcos, who was killed during an attempt to rescue his adopted daughter a few months ago. Now, the trio had returned to Gotham after long travels to numerous varying countries.
Bruce's life long friend Alfred was friends with the girl's legal father, he would soon accidentally persuade Bruce to travel with the girl through the means of the Wayne Foundation. Finding her experimented on in captivity by a threatening scientist; Bruce's alter ego rescued her from the clutches of the burning building she was held in. From the help of Tim Drake AKA the Red Robin, this was the particular case the two detectives rivaled and argued upon. In the case of what happened Bruce decided it was best to nurture the girl and surround her to different cultures and perhaps find a way of peace during their travels. They've went to countries such as Iceland, India, Holland, China, Japan, Spain, Nepal, the Philippines, Egypt, Italy, Greece... the list goes on. In the time being in those countries, she has learned to be acutely multilingual, learning different styles of martial arts that had helped teach her to find and exercise her inner peace and as well as learning the ways of zen. Bruce had allowed her to choose whatever courses she'd like to study in the most prestigious universities and cultural colleges while abroad. Telling her she didn't have to spend a single penny of her father's inheritance. In his mind the best course of action was to expose her to have a better sense of the world. Due to her troubled upbringing and concerning recent events the powers that had been embedded into her would pose a potentially serious threat if she were to go down a more darker sinister road like the person that had killed her father. Right now, Bruce will just have to rely that her perspectives on life has changed and that she has more to bring to the world than heavy anger and vengeance.
"Master Bruce, your secretary Ms. Skylark had informed me to have you call her regarding urgent business that requires your attention with Wayne Enterprise." Standing from his seat within his cabin, he looked at his butler already prepared to head out with Ms. Marcos's luggage. Bruce smiled at him, telling that he will call her later during the ride. Alfred, nodded quick witted,"Very good, sir. The limousine should be arriving shortly." Turning away, he walked down the spacey passage of the jet's interior and turned left to exit onto the downward stairwell. Bruce would slightly adjust his tie, dressing ever so pristinely; ready to hit a formal party or business meeting. Looking toward the opposite end of the aisle, adjacent to where he faced a body taking residence laying down on a leather sturdy couch was Ariadne; sleeping soundly in her current position. From the constant traveling of the aircraft taking off and on she was just too used to the feeling, so someone would have to manually tell her to wake up. Bruce pitied who would, her sudden outcries to leave her alone would be unpleasant to encounter. Usually Alfred would do it, but supposedly he didn't want to for this particular time. "Ariadne, we're back home- in Gotham." Sleepy eyes opened and turned to face the handsome man, she stretched and removed the blanket off her body and proceeded to put on her shoes nearby. Bruce, stepping away he waited for her to get ready till they both walked alongside to the exit. First one to step out between the two was Ariadne, looking as if she were taking it all in- that they were finally home.
Stopping before the exit door, he would pull out his phone that was digitally wired to the BatComputer in the Cave. Pressing and pulling different programs that applied the current and past happenings that occurred over Gotham while he was away. Seeing an encrypted message from d**k, it read that he had encountered Scarecrow and Poison Ivy while Bruce was gone. Telling him about how he rescued this girl in the Gotham cemetery and was transported to the Botanical Gardens. He also told about how Crane went missing from where he was last detained and never being shipped at Arkham. Strange. He thought to himself, Ivy turning over a new leaf? Scarecrow cutting through the bat-rope material and have escaped? Putting the phone away he took on a tan trench coat draped onto a headrest of a nearby chair, the captain that entered into the cabin sought to shake Bruce's hand before the billionaire stepped out into the cold. Once out he would see the view of an already parked limousine with the door idly open with Alfred standing by it. "Come on, Bruce! It's freezing!" Ariadne would yell, he agreed and hurried down the steps to the sturdy yet somewhat slippery cement. Each step feeling like he could lose footing from how the soles of his dress shoes were designed. "Bruce!" She would yell, already in the limo with her head poking out to look at him. "I'm coming, I'm coming." He muttered to himself, to think she was the one that was late just minutes before. He took to a hasty jog to his limousine and entered facing across from her. The door would close shortly after, with Alfred taking hold of the wheel. The expandable car would momentarily begin to move, out of the airport, and into the somewhat busy freeway. The sky seemed to crack open with a view of the rising morning sun in wind of the smoggy atmosphere.

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura had been adapting to city life well in Gotham. While in Japan she lived in the countryside she had traveled to the cities all across the country for various missions and training. The League of Assassins rarely ever gave her missions outside of her homeland but a times in the past she had been ordered to go to places in America, places like Gotham.
Gotham caught her eye because it was a city filled with activity. Something always seemed to be going on in Gotham which she liked. Finding work in Gotham though wasn't the easiest thing in the though. Azura was an expert in fighting and killing but those exactly helpful qualities on a resume. Lucky for her she had gone through her family's own version of home schooling which consisted of hiring private teachers from around the world to teach her various languages, math skills, writing skills, etc. Due to her teachings Azura was pretty smart and was eventually hired by Wayne Enterprises.
Wayne Enterprises delt with multiple different things in the city of Gotham, and it was the fact that it had so many branches that Azura became interested in it. Since Wayne Enterprises was connected to so many aspects of the city Azura figured she could find out whatever she wanted to know about the area by hacking into their system, not just that but by working for a company with so many branches Azura has more options to choose from work. Right now she works as the secretary for Bruce Wayne, but she has had thoughts about going into either the tech branch, the steel branch, or the research institute branch. Currently she's pretty content with her job though and sge doesn't plan to make a switch until later in life. She will admit though, reaching Bruce Wayne was a problem at times, especially at night. He always seemed to be busy when the sun went down, doing what though Azura doesn't know.
As Azura walked out of a local coffee shop with a fresh cup of black coffee in her hand she dialed Bruce Wayne's number again. "Mr. Wayne is it you? We really need to start discussing the next charity event that's supposed to be sponsored by the Wayne Foundation. The charity organizations that you're partnered with are becoming very insistent on knowing all the details of the event so we need to organize it and send out the information as soon as possible." As Azura spoke she was careful to dodge the crowd without spilling her coffee. Considering that she has had to dodge knives and bullets this was easy for her.
Since Azura had a new identity in Gotham she made sure to look different when she wasn't being Blue Shadow. Her hair was completely black when she was being Azura and she wore dark brown contacts which made her look more Japanese. You'd be surprised with how much a little hair and eye change can make a difference. When working Azura typically wore her hair tied back in a low ponytail, as she was now, and wore a blazer with a nice shirt and dress pants. Her work style was very professional and clean which was the opposite of her usual style which was more edgy and sexy even.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason had driven into Gotham earlier that morning. Driving his motorcycle up to the gate. He parked a few feet off, fighting internally with himself. He wanted to confront Bruce and for once he was actually scared. Standing outside just looked at the manor, helmet tucked underneath his arm. Looking to the ground shaking his head he climbed onto his bike. Driving off he drove down some new coffee shop. He parked and slid off, kicking himself for not confronting Bruce. As he was about to head in he bumped into a girl. "Oh I am so sorry. I didn't look where I was going." He gave the girl a kind smile and stuck out his hand. "Hi, I'm Jason."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura saw the man in front of her about to bump into her, but there were people on both of her sides so she had no where to turn. She ended up halting in the hopes that he would see her but before she could tell him to watch out the man bumped into her, causing her to nearly drop her phone but with her quick reflexes Azura managed to catch it.
With a quick sigh of relief Azura brought the phone back to her face and said, "Mr. Wayne I got to go. Just call me back when you have a time when we can meet." Azura said before hanging up the phone.
After hanging up Azura took a brief second to compose herself again and to look up at the stranger. He was tall, well built, and had dark hair. She found it interesting that he had a white strip in his hair did, but right now Azura was wearing a black wig to hide her highlight. As she quickly evaluated the man she replied, "Don't worry, no harm was done. I caught my phone and the grip I had on my coffee was strong enough to keep it still. Anyway I'm Azura Skylark. In a rush Jason or were you just lost in thought?" Azura asked with a smirk.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason nodded to Azura, partly taking a double take. Funding her attractive in her own right as he looked her over. "I was lost in thought and now at a loss for words and thought for this beautiful woman standing before me." He knew he was flirting, he actually wanted to flirt a bit. In the back of his mind though he was finishing his internal debate. He ended with the conclusion that Bruce had betrayed him, left him to Jokers torture that ultimately killed him. He gave her a charming smile. "Nice catch, most secretaries are not that fast." He kept looking her over, moving slightly to let others out. "Would Mr. Wayne let you go out on a date, let's say Friday night, here works?" He wanted to use her knowledge to get Bruce's schedule. He figured he would remove the criminals then remove Bruce. He figured what better way then with the crime families. "So dinner or coffee Friday?"

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• "And how do you know if I'm Bruce Wayne's secretary? I could be a wealthy business partner." Azura said in a playful sort of time, but she figured that she even close to wealthy in the casual business clothes she had on. She did however come from a wealthy family, but when she left home she didn't take much money with her.
Azura wanted to build her own fortune, not live off the money of her dead father, who wasn't even really her dad. To be honest one of Azura's goals was to find her biological father. Her mother spoke vaguely of him but she mentioned that he was a good man who fought for justice, and since Gotham has a lot of crime, some of which she takes part in, she figured that looking here first was the right move.
"You are right though. I am just a secretary, for now." Azura said with an air of confidence around her before Jason invited her out on a date. "Are you this bold with all women? As for if Mr. Wayne would allow me to go on a date, that is not my concern. He may be my boss but i don't wait on him hand and foot. That's in his butler's job description, not mine. He always seems busy during the night anyway so i doubt he'd need me. I'll shoot him an email." Azura replied with a grin before tilting her cup back and taking a small sip of her coffee. "You're lucky that you caught me at this time Jason. I usually don't keep strange men up on such requests but I've been rather bored lately. Hope you know how to show a girl a good time. I could always show you one if needed." Azura said with a wink.
Honestly Azura didn't much for most guys, and she already had some feelings for Red Hood. In her life the men she knew were abusive, cruel, and self-absorbed. The only men she viewed as different were Ra's Al Ghul and Red Hood, but as said before Azura was bored. She needed some sort of entertainment when she wasn't The Blue Shadow. Even if Jason turned out to be a perverted @sshole or a tool Azura figured she'd have fun beating the cr@p out of him.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason chuckled a little. "The coffee, the phone call, you look like the girl who would rather do the work than let others do it." Smiling as she said she would show him a good time. He hadn't had a good time in some time. He wouldn't have mind going to bed with her, even if it meant right then. "I think I'll take you up on that offer for a good time. As to my boldness..." He had always been bold in a fight and he figured with his dating history he was. "...only with girls I want to get to know better." Moving more to the side as people kept leaving the shop. He had an idea and his smile showed it. "Do you think Mr. Wayne would mind if you played hooky today?" He always remembered Bruce doing fine without a Secretary till it came to setting up meetings. "Because I have a motorcycle and a seat that calls for a beautiful such as yourself." Giving a charming smile to her. He knew people were staring and expressing their frustrations about them being in the way. "What do you say? Some adventure now? Take a early morning risk."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• "If you want something done right you got to do it yourself, right?" Azura replied to Jason's comment about her and work. "I wouldn't say I'm a workaholic but I like keeping busy usually." Azura said before Jason suggested playing hooky. When he mentioned having a motorcycle Azura instantly became interested. Usually she couldn't leave her job, she was trained to always finish the task at hand, but since Bruce Wayne hadn't responded to her yet she figured he had no need for her at the moment. "A motorcycle you say? I've been thinking about getting one for myself. Alright then, I'll humor you Jason. Let's go." Azura said as she took off her blazer and tied it around her waist. She'd feel weird sitting on a motorcycle while looking like some snobby lawyer.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason smiled when she said she would join him. "So true. It's better to do things by yourself, than not done right at all." Part of him accepted the distraction. Finding her attractive not just in looks but if she was going to manage Bruce she had to be smart. "If you care to follow me." Walking the few feet to his Yamaha FZ-10. Climbing on he patted the back for her, pulling out a helmet for her as he slapped his on. "I like to drive fast but having mind to what goes on is very well needed." Smiling under his helmet he started the bike up. "You look better without the jacket by the way." He knew he was flirting, he wanted to flirt. "Now you'll want to hold on tight, she'll have some kick to her. So you'll have to be very close to me."

Within the limousine, Bruce's phone would suddenly vibrate. Drawing it from his pocket the caller ID would show up as Azura Skylark- his secretary. Answering it briefly, he would put it against his ear. "Hello, Azura." "Mr. Wayne is it you? We really need to start discussing the next charity event that's supposed to be sponsored by the Wayne Foundation. The charity organizations that you're partnered with are becoming very insistent on knowing all the details of the event so we need to organize it and send out the information as soon as possible." In the other end of the line Bruce would grin over her profound hurried sense of wit. "Just getting back and you're already hitting me with work. Alright, I'm heading my way to Wayne Tower now." In the other end of the line he would hear commotion, and someone talking. "Mr. Wayne I got to go. Just call me back when you have a time when we can meet." His face would alter in a curious way, but was certainly not all that interested. He ran a background check on her weeks before when she would apply to his company, finding her change of name interesting to say the least. He knew about her background, but with him gone her profile would get even more interesting when two new vigilantes appeared before Gotham. Not relying on hunches, he would have to investigate further for leads from the two.
Looking across from him he'd look at Ariadne, she was half asleep but managed to stay up looking out into the developing sky. He thinks about the trip, and how she mostly did things on her own while he would be elsewhere. League business, he thought. In those months while abroad, he would occasionally check up on her as well as giving her new objectives of where and who to talk to while visiting the various countries. During the beginning of their trip, she was very hesitant about it and insisted on staying here-in Gotham. Bruce and Alfred would convince her otherwise, that her father would want more for her than to stay and anguish over the darkness of what this city had brought her. Many people would know about their travels, only to satisfy those who were sticking their noses and looking. From all they know he's been traveling abroad, visiting the different sub branches of the company located around the globe as well chauffeuring Ms. Marcos through the means of the Wayne Foundation. He would be taking her places every now and then but he was mostly absent for several of the meetings and with Ariadne. Noticing that Bruce was looking over at her, she'd look at him as if she were saying 'what is it'. He'd smile, and look over his shoulder to see the car was approaching his company building.
A short time passed until the car would go to a stop in the front entrance curb. Alfred would swoop around the car and open the door for the two. Ariadne, would stay inside as Bruce stepped out. Seeing several kinds of suits looking at him and murmuring over who he is. Pulling off his coat and handing it to Alfred he would page Azura to see if she was already in the building as he walked through the entrance. Walking past the main lobby, he would take the elevator to his office.

Aria looked over, tired and worn out from all the travel but was trying very hard to stay awake now. It was the car rides that made her sleepy, it seemed her body tried to go to sleep when she was in a car or a plane now. It was getting difficult to sleep when she WASN'T in a car or plan these days. She slid her red eyes over to Bruce as she felt him stare at her. They were here at his business. Damn... she .. kinda didn't want to leave his side now. With her father gone... she was just ..lonely. Bruce had been so kind to her, it was just a deeply languishing moment to realize she would eventually have to be alone now that she was back in Gotham. Wasn't as if she could live with him or be his shadow or something. She looked back to the door as it was opened by Alfred. She smiled but didn't get out. Aria understood that he was his own man and the boss of a very large business.. but... she wished they had actually spent some time together... he was always off somewhere... she never got to know him really well. At least she got to spend time with Mr. Alfred.... It brought a small smile to her lips at the memories of hearing stories of her father and Alfred from back in the old days. So many things she hadn't known -all in good taste. She felt like she had only gotten a taste of what was there though.... that connection... that feeling of belonging. Sure she had learned an plethora of things, looking back at herself and feeling as if she was a little girl when she started these trips on Mr. Wayne's favor... now she felt like... she had evolved somehow. Grown out from a shadow that had been over her. The shadow of a great man like her father... and then there was the shadow of a dark monster who had changed her beyond human. Aria looked down to her hands... she supposed she should get out. Did this mean she wouldn't see them again? Like a world tour just to shut up the need to look good to the public but after that she was forgotten? For some reason unknown to her, Ariadne couldn't get out of the car to follow Mr. Wayne... she wanted to cling to them... to someone... hell, almost anyone she could trust. But look at where trust had gotten her.

Alfred taking a keen notice to Ariadne's expression with her in the car, he would give her a warm smile from out the door looking inside. "Right. I suppose we should be taking you home to your father's residence. Shall we, Ms. Aria?" His smile would linger, keeping a positive vibration. During their trip along the way she would tell Alfred to just call her by her nickname, but from his manner he would always add the 'Miss' to it. Alas, it would be pointless from the way her face pouted- realizing that their journey had ended. He would shut the door firmly, still seeing her brilliant red eyes through the dark tinted window pointing inward to the glass pane entrance of the building. Watching as Master Bruce walk into an elevator with waving arms to receptionists and employees alike, redirecting the same gratitude to when they saw him- perhaps more. Alfred would sigh, walking around the car once again and opening the door as he sat in the driver's seat. Pulling the small retractable window located on the right of his shoulder, he would pull it to make it easier to communicate with Ms. Marcos in the back. Adjusting his rearview mirror, from where she would sit she would be able to see Alfred's old eyes looking back. Turning the ignition, and shifting the stick to drive he would look to his rearview if he was clear to merge. Then they were off, the interior of both sides of the car was quiet; leaving Ms. Marcos the option to speak to him if she so pleases.

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura took the helmet in her hands with a cocky grin on her face. "I think I can handle it." She said with confidence as she threw out her coffee cup and hopped on the back of the motorcycle. "Let's see what shes got Jason." Azura said, obviously referring to the motorcycle by "she" as Jason had.
Just as she slipped the helmet on she received a message that Bruce Wayne was in his office building. "Cr@p." She thought. "That guy spends hours ignoring my calls then the moment I'm busy he's free." Azura then came up with an idea that would both be fun and beneficial to her job. "Hey Jason, know where Wayne Enterprises is? How about you take me to their main building? Mr. Wayne has finally decided to grace me with hus presence." Azura asked, saying that last sentence sarcastically.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason knew all to well where Bruce's main shop was. Before his death he had visited the place many times. The memory causing a dull pain with a flair of anger. He turned to look at Azura. "I know roughly where it is. But it will cost you." He thought about what he had missed the most before dying. So many things popped to mind from dinner to money, even to sexual needs. He shook his head before coming up with an idea. It was something he wanted to do with her as soon as they met. "It'll cost a kiss." Beginning his burn out he sped into traffic. Avoiding accidents, tolls, and just trying to simply impress her. He was enjoying her arms around his chest but pushed them lower for her benefit and his.
