After finishing up his masters in music education, his bachelors in literature, and working a few years as a substitute teacher... Huxtable decided that- no, the usual sort of life just wasn't for him. So, at age 26, he sold all his belongings aside from his guitar and a couple articles of clothing, and he set off on the adventure he hoped would last him a lifetime. Hitch-hiking, train-hopping, couch-surfing, begging, playing music on the street. Anything that would get him from Point A to Point B. He's a pleasure-seeker through and through, with a penchant for finding himself in the right place at the right time when it came time for him to get moving somewhere else.
A "man of the people" as he would say, Hux happily introduced himself to as many people along the way as he could- making friends in all the nooks and crannies of the states; as well as a few in various places throughout the U.K. when he happened to find himself selling merch and carrying equipment for a particularly well-off band.

Hux had to end his aimless travel rather abruptly when his sister discovered the onset of early stage leukemia. Being a single mother, living from paycheck-to-paycheck, and raising three children all by herself; it was very apparent, even if she wasn't so inclined to admit it, that she would need help. Knowing she had no one to turn to but her only remaining family member, she asked Huxtable to stay with her and her children for an indefinite amount of time so she could focus on fighting the good fight.
While he's fairly good with children, Hux is in no way a good role model- and he barely has an idea as to how exactly to function like your average 32 year old man. He's doing his best to learn as he goes and offer as much support to his sister as he can- but he's just not so sure he's cut out for the job, and the stress of the situation makes it even harder for him to stay focused. Still, he's determined to be there for Margaery- even if it means making some sacrifices along the way.
