Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!
Evening ladies and gents! Here is a judged contest with three different ponies, and three different ways to win a co-ownership with them. A newbie entry, an olbie entry, and an anyone goes entry!
I have these three ponies, who just stump me when it comes to building them a story. So that's where you come into play! You will create the character as if it was your own. In return, I will give you breeding, and roleplay rights if you win.
Opens: Now! Closes: July 2nd 11:59 pm EST
Rules: 1. Respect otters. 2. No pity parties! 3. The cake is NOT a lie. 4. Proper grammar is appreciated. 5. Editing is allowed, as long as you put at the top that you did so.
This is a user run contest, and does not count as your freebie for June!

Something Old, and Something Blue! This will be a contest for shop oldbies, that only requires plot ideas, and character building. I already know all you lovelies can rp! Co-ownership Soquili is Livius.
This stallion has been around since 2007. He's got 3 kids, 9 grand kids, 12 great-grands, 3 great-great grand kids, and 1 great-great-great grandkid. (A few are adopted along the way.) Plus a brother, and a sister with a family of her own. Just, wow! What a family line. Livius has not met any of his descendants below his own children. He hasn't even met his own father. Most of the years past, were spent traveling with a mare named Aiane, the mother of his kids. Upon returning to his home land, he had the desire for something more in his life. Now, where the story goes from here, is up to you! He needs a story worthy of such a long family tree.

He is at 60% for stats. ❧ You have the option of keeping him with Aiane, but this is not a requirement at all.

Something Borrowed! This will be a contest for shop newbies. I will give you a loose character idea to borrow, and you will use it to complete an rp entry.
The Borrowed Short Story: (You can change this after you win.) Nicolas doesn't know his biological parents. He was a gift to two parents who couldn't have children of their own, and he grew up in a very loving environment. His parents told him the story of how he was gifted to them. This inspired Nicolas! He thrives on making others happy through the power of a well thought out gift.
Rp Prompts: (Choose one to respond to.)
The Ugly Sweater Nicolas receives an Ugly Christmas Sweater with candy canes in the shape of hearts, as a gift from someone he knows. It's not even Christmas?! How does he react? Does he wear the sweater? Or bury it in the backyard?
The Unbirthday Nicolas meets a new friend, and the muse strikes him to gift them a gift! There's no special holiday coming up, nor is it their birthday anytime soon. How does he improvise? What is the gift he gives?
Make Your Own Use your own idea! Make your own roleplay using the borrowed short story to inspire you.Christmas in [strike]July[/strike] June..
User Name: Own less than 5 soquili? Do you have a teepee?
Prompt Title: (This is what the contest will be judged on.) -insert prompt response here- Side Notes: ❧ Less than 5 Soquili is required to enter this contest. ❧ He is not lifemated. ❧ You will get co-own rights that include teepee, full breeding, lifemate/lovemate, and roleplay rights. ❧ He will be yours to do with as you see fit. ❧ Character, story, and personality, are yours to create after the contest.

Something New!The clean slate contest that everyone can enter. You design everything here! ( Itemless)
Brielle is such a pretty mare, with her goldilocks curls kept under a mysterious gold and red hood. For two years, her story has evaded me! Opening her up to all the public, to find her the perfect match for someone to wipe the dust off the clean slate, and give her something to write about. I liked Maths idea of doing what you want for an entry, so I'm going to steal that! You can make a roleplay for her, plot points, personality, or whatever the muse strikes you to create. There is no wrong answer here.Choose Your Own Adventure!
User Name: Do you have a teepee? Do you prefer roleplay, or plotting?[/b
Choose Your Own Entry: (Plot ideas, roleplay, a poem, the reason why you want her, or whatever! You decide what to put here. Again, there is no wrong answer.) -insert response here- Side Notes: ❧ You may enter this contest, and one of the others. You may only win one though. ❧ You will get co-own rights that include teepee, full breeding, mate/lovemate, and roleplay rights. ❧ She is not lifemated. ❧ Never been roleplayed. ❧ Yours to do with as you see fit.

Age Ain't Nothing But a Number User Name: Kaya Wolf Moon Oldest Soquili Owned: Shadow (link is to his teepee page that has all his info) Own more than 5 soquili? Yes, I own 12 so far. Do you own anyone related to Livius?: No ---------------- Personality: Livius is a devoted mate, loving father, and true friend. He is strongly guided by his conscience and has a keen perception of what is right and wrong. His choices making skills are heavily marked by his lack of role models in his life, which forced him to learn how to make decisions early on. While he does make mistakes, Livius follows his instincts and listens to what his conscience tells him to do. Livius' main character flaws include anger, impulsiveness, and a distinct fear for being a parent. He fears failing his family on any level, feeling that he is ill-prepared and inadequate. Having no role model for comparison often leaves him struggling and hoping for the best outcome. Despite this, Livius would never dream of abandoning his family and friends. His sense of honor is too great. Plot Ideas: I'm not the best at plotting beforehand but I'll give it my best. ❧ My Father's Son- Livius seeks out his father to ask him why he never bothered to get to know him. His father's absence has always gnawed away at him and he can't stand it any longer. He needs to know WHY. ❧ Am I Doing This Right?- It is Livius' second time being a father. He still feels uncertain about his interactions with the little foals. Nobody ever told him how to be a father. So many things can go wrong and, just because he did it once, doesn't mean that he'll get that lucky again. He's certain that he will screw up somehow. ❧ Time Apart- There has been some tension between Livius and Aine. They just can't seem to be able to see eye to eye anymore. The harder the couple tries, the worse things seem to get too and Livius isn't sure they're meant to be together anymore. He suggests that they take some time, part ways and reexamine what exactly it is they each want in the relationship. ❧ A Silver Tongue- After his break up with Aine, Livius is seduced by a rather striking mare. However, everything is not as it seems with her. Livius becomes entwined in a tangled webs of danger and lies. He'll need to tread carefully if he wants to make it out alive. (Note: This would likely span multiple RPs since I think the mare would want to attempt to keep Livius as a sire for foals.) ❧ Only You- Livius returns to Aine after his near deadly encounter. Although he'd rather forget the experience, he has to thank the evil mare for giving him one of the greatest gifts of all- a newfound resolve and clarity. If not for that confrontation, he would never have come to the revelation that Aine was, is, and always will be his one and only.

Choose Your Own Adventure! User Name: belloblossom Do you have a teepee? YesDo you prefer roleplay, or plotting? Both! Usually I do plotting first and if my schedule is clear (between school and work) then I'm totally up for roleplay too! Choose Your Own Entry: Brielle loved clothes. She had ever since she was a filly and it was thanks to her eccentric Auntie Ella (and her namesake, according to her mother.) Auntie Ella, you see, was a trader of respectable goods like seeds and information and the like, so whenever she came to visit, she always had something from her business to give to Brielle! One time, she had gotten her a necklace from a pony who lived in the ocean! Auntie Ella had called the creature a "Mer" and told Brielle that instead of hind legs, it had a fish's tail! Only, Brielle had never seen a fish, not with living out in the desert borders, so she had no idea what it looked like. This didn't prevent her from prancing around with happy chantings of "Murmur-murmur-mur-ma-murmur". Anorther time, when Brielle was getting older (and had started to call herself Brie) Auntie Ella brought her a wonderful head wrap made out of thin, soft fabric that kept her cool in the day and warm at night. It was scarlet and gold in hue and since the day her aunt gave it to her, Brie had never taken it off. However, the best gift was yet to come and it came with her "coming of age" ceremony. The ceremony itself wasn't much, just a little dance at the end of the day and her parents said a few words about how beautiful she grew up to be and how smart and stuff. Then Auntie Ella swooped in with her big announcement: she had no gift of clothing, but instead brought one of travel. She wanted Brie to come travel with her! Her parents were smiling-clearly this had been planned earlier. Of course she said yes nearly a thousand times. They celebrated for a few days together, with Brie promising to visit and then she and her aunt were off. They traveled to the ocean, they saw the swamplands, and they went to a wonderful hot springs too! Auntie Ella continued working, of course, and introduced Brie to some fine Soquili (some who loved clothes even more than she did) ,but it wasn't long before Brie wanted to start traveling independently. She got Auntie Ella's blessing and her trading route if she wanted to visit and then she was off. She's been traveling on her own ever since, wanting to explore everywhere, meet everyone and try everything. That is just what she'lol do too.

Age Ain't Nothing But a Number User Name: AstoriaFallen Oldest Soquili Owned: DarkHeartOwn more than 5 soquili? Yes I do smile Do you own anyone related to Livius?: No ---------------- Personality: Livius has always been a wanderer at heart and his life until this point has reflected that. He's done almost a decade of traveling and has collected a multitude of tales and experiences to share with his family. While he may be done discovering the world around him,he's not done discovering his family. As boring as it may seem, he wants to rekindle his familial relationships. He wants to meet his grand kids and his great grand kids (and ect) and share with them the tales of his youth and the adventures he and his beloved have shared over the past decade. While he may have never told her throughout their travels together he trusts her with his very life and wouldn't want to share his life with anyone else at this point. Plot Ideas: (Looking for story and character building here. This is what the base of the entry will be judged upon.) ❧ Livius is going to tell Aiane that he needs to take some time on his own to do a little bit of soul searching. Not because he doesn't know what he wants, but because he wants to be be sure what he's feeling and deciding to do is exactly what he feels in his heart and soul to be true. ❧ During his single travels I'd like him to run into another mare perhaps, one that is flirtacious towards him and isn't afraid to make advances at him. It will be his test to see how he truly feels about Aiane. I feel as though it may make him feel awkward as he's not used to another besides Aiane being attracted to him. He will ultimately decline her affections and continue on his way. ❧ I feel as though at some point he's going to run into a medicine man/witch doctor sort of character and drink something they give him that makes him experience a sort of "trip" of sorts. It will lead to him realizing his place in the lands and he will go and search out Aiane. ❧ As Livius returns from his soul searching he's going to confide in her his true feelings about her. He's going to tell her that she may be the mother to their children but she is also much more than that. She's his confidant and truest friend. He wouldn't want to spend the rest of his life with anyone else and the two of them have already accomplished so much together so why not continue out the rest of their lives together and create new memories with their family. ❧ Livius is going to retire from his adventures across the Kawani and start the adventure of tracking down his family. He's going to tell them his tales while learning about theirs in return. ❧ I definitely want him to either start a herd with Aiane or even join one with her. It could even just be the two of them traveling locally ( no more long travels for adventure) to help out those that need it or even giving advice or telling stories. ❧ Just because I think this will be fun (and I'm mean to my characters and like drama) he will become cursed and Aiane charms him and he thinks he's become some sort of monster. During this time either Aiane will stay with him or leave him (if she leaves him I think it would just cause him to do a downward spiral). If that does happen he'd likely disappear from his families lives and become a solitary wanderer until he runs into someone who will love him for the way he is. If Aiane stays then he will do the best he can to make his change work and show his family that he is still the same as he was before.

Choose Your Own Adventure! User Name: Zaikt. Do you have a teepee? I do, but I haven't updated it recently due to RL. ; v; [ here's the link! ]Do you prefer roleplay, or plotting? Plotting, but I'm just as down for RP! Choose Your Own Entry: Dawn comes slowly on quiet breezes, the soft light of the morning sun painting dew-drenched hills and flowers with the muted tones of its brush; shell pinks intermingled with gentle golds, washing over the landscape like watercolor across a canvas. Everything around her slumbers yet, still undisturbed even as the day begins to rise. It's her favorite time, really. In the early hours of the morning, it feels as though she has the whole world to herself, a private audience with the sky above and the earth below. She loves the bustle of daytime and the experience of dancing on the edges of so many other lives with stories yet untold, but Brielle knows where her heart lies. The dawn is a new door opening, possibilities unfurling like a blooming flower bathed in the rising light--it's a fresh opportunity, a pristine chapter waiting to be written. When she breathes in the first gasp of air touched by sunrise, it feels as if her entire being sparks to life. It's invigorating and enthralling all at once, and she always winds up with the biggest grin on her face. To her, there's no better sensation; it's the simplest form of perfection, and she's always chased it. Brielle is a child of the dawn, without a doubt. Her father taught her the importance of living each day to the fullest, and she's always held that advice close to heart, even when her desire to see and know more took her further and further from her family. With a soul born to roam and the curiosity to drive her wanderlust, it had been clear from the start that Brielle wouldn't linger for long in the place she'd called home. The fact was one he'd accepted years ago, and Father had seen fit to prepare her for the world she was destined to explore instead of trying to cling too tightly in an effort to keep her around. She'd been thankful for that when she'd finally grown wise enough to understand--and without Father's easy guidance, she doubted she'd be standing here with such a clear conscience. Delicate hooves left stark tracks in the grass, the dew shaken free from where she'd stepped; the base of the hill that she now climbed was still chilled and slick with condensation, crystalline beads that adorned the wildflowers sprouting amid the foliage she did her best not to trample. Brielle hadn't stayed in this area for more than a few days, but she'd quickly discovered that this hill had, without a doubt, the absolute best view of the sunrise she could find. Her hood protected her from the colder breezes that ran their fingers through her mane, and she tosses her head to adjust the cloth to a better position after a particularly bracing wind. All part of the experience, she thought to herself--so what if it was a little chilly? She wouldn't have it any other way. A quick glance upward proves that the sky is beginning to come alive with color, and she quickens her pace to get to her spot before she misses much more. The top of the hill was crowned with a bright halo of daybreak befitting royalty, and she grins at the sight, wasting no time before breaking into a gallop in order to crest the hill at the perfect moment. The view spread out before her is a gilded panorama, the valley below stretching out as far as the eye can see cast in glittering tones that very well could have been plucked from a dragon's hoard. The first few notes of birdsong drift through the air, heralding the symphony of life yet to come--for now, it plays for only her and the wind, and Brielle's never heard music more beautiful. She watches wide-eyed in wonder as the sun rises, and the golden hues shift and change with each passing moment in a dance that will never again be played precisely how she sees it now. It's as if everything's to begin anew, reborn in sunlight and calmly set into its proper place. The day's just beginning, and the world awaits.

Choose Your Own Adventure! User Name: Uta Do you have a teepee? Yes HereDo you prefer roleplay, or plotting? I prefer to role-play, but I will confess that I'm slow. Very slow. Between running stuff behind the scenes, coloring, and my day job, there can be serious delays. I plot when I can't RP, but prefer to write when able. Choose Your Own Entry: This mare just inspired me . . . . ~ ~ ~ ~ "So you want to know a story, do you?" The older mare laughed, her blue eyes bright with delight. "Well, young one, let me tell you -- I'm not sure you're going to want to hear it." She laughed again as the young foals looked up at her, pleading Brielle that it certainly wasn't true.
"Tell us, tell us a story!" A particularly dark coated foal stamped his hoof, but a reprimanding snort from his lounging mother reminded him of his manners. "Please." The young one gave his mother a look, before turning his little nose back up to the brown and mottled colored mare before him.
Ah, to be young again. Brielle was an older mare -- laugh lines etched her eyes, and her smile was rarely missing from her muzzle. Her blue eyes were always full of wonder about the world, but age had worn down a bit of their brightness. Her coat was almost always dusty, her hooves frequently chipped, and even her beloved gold and red scarf was frayed and stained. She was a mare that did not linger long in one place -- instead, she traveled and entertained those that she met with her stories.
Ah, and such stories! Sometimes they were completely fabricated from her imagination, yet told in such a way as those who listened were certain of their truth. Other times she spoke of personal stories, but wove them in such a whimsical way that they were often mistaken as fiction. But that was what the mare wanted, wasn't it? She had always dreamed of an extraordinary life, but reality wasn't quite so kind. . . .
So, if the mare was not meant for greatness, she would instead tell stories about those that were! Her mother had never thought much of her talkative daughter -- she had often laughed and told her sweetling that all her yapping wouldn't get her anywhere. And maybe, just maybe, the mare mused, that was true -- what had Brielle accomplished but years of travel and weaving tales for a bit of drink or a spot of protection?
But then again, that was her livelihood. She used her voice, her words, her thoughts, to tell stories of great battles, of lessons learned, of heartaches healing, and rainbows after the storm. She could use her mistakes -- for the mare did have many mistakes and regrets that haunted her -- to craft a better tale, or better yet, try to teach the young.
Many enjoyed the storyteller's company -- and while she had been offered homes in many herds or approval to linger upon foreign lands -- Brielle could not keep her hooves still. She was getting along in years, but she had not yet crafted the perfect story -- her own. No, there was no rest for this mare -- not when there was still so much to see, so much to do, and so much to share with the world.
"Well now... I'll tell you, but only if you promise not to get too scared," she laughed, giving an idle flick of her ear as the little foal puffed out his chest.
"I'm not scared of anything," he assured the mare, reaching out to give her leg a little assuring nuzzle. One of his young companions giggled at his obvious lie, while a small filly didn't look entirely sure she wanted to hear such a frightening tale.
Thankfully, Brielle knew that the tale she had picked out to tell the foals had a happy ending. "Well then -- it all began during the height of summer, moons ago, in a little pasture just like this one..." And with that, the mare began to weave a tale of friendship, heartache, loss, and redemption. It was not a story that she had lived -- but it was a story whose ending she much preferred . This particular tale held snippets of her life, but it did not hold the entire picture. No, her own story she kept close to her heart . . . and everyday woke up, hoping that maybe, just maybe, she might find that elusive happily ever after.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
So. . . This mare simply inspired a story-teller muse. I don't see her as a younger mare, but one that's just a bit older, a bit more grey. Not out of her prime fully, but definitely heading towards maturity. The cloak holds as much mystery as many of the tales she weaves, but she keeps it close -- it's a treasure far greater to her than anything.
I sort of see her travelling to weave her tales. . . . but forever restless. She likes to tell stories because her own story has some heartache and pain -- Ii'm not sure yet what it could be -- but it colors her life with every step she takes.
I could see her simply travelling and telling tales to herds or soquili young and old that she meets-- sometimes to entertain, sometimes to warn, other times to teach. I could see her finding a companion that might wish to roam with her -- someone who can get her to unravel her own story and to find out what tales are fact and which are fiction. I feel like she sometimes thinks she's too old for that happily-ever-after, which is why she clings to her stories -- but perhaps this wouldn't be the case.
Thanks for the opportunity!

Christmas in July June.. User Name: Dea andf #Teddy# Own less than 5 soquili? yes, 3.5 Do you have a teepee? Yes, though still pretty bare and still need the boys in there. HerePrompt Title: Make Your OwnA little red and white Usidia was beaming happily as he trotted around his family's meadow, making sure everything was ready. Today was Nicolas's birthday and he had talked his adopted parents into letting him throw a party. He knew they had wanted to do so, but he said that he had something special in mind for all of them. He had set everything up, now he was just waiting on everyone to show up, so he could start the party. He sent his parents off to grab a little more food, though it was just an excuse, so it would be a surprise for them too. He made sure to tell those coming that he did not want them to bring any gifts and he would explain why when everyone got there. It wasn't long before his parents came back with some apples they had collected, his mother gasping at how much work he had done to decorate their meadow. Nicolas had hung some streamers, he had wrapped some presents, he had gotten a picnic blanket laid out with an assortment of goodies on it. Nicolas stood there smiling as he saw how happy his parents seemed to be. That feeling intensified as he saw his friends and other family members starting to arrive, the sense of wonder in each of their eyes priceless to him. He escorted each of them to where he wanted to be, a present marking each plate. "I want to thank all of you for coming to my party. I know many of you wanted to give me gifts, since it is traditional. However, I felt that it would be more fitting for me if I gave all of you a gift. As many of you know, my parents couldn't have children of their own, so I was a gift to them. They have made my life so wonderful, as have all of you who are gathered here. I am not sure I could ever repay you all for everything you have done, but these presents are a small start. Thank you so much,"he smiled, sure he saw tears in his mother's eyes after his speech. Nicolas's green eyes sparkled as each of his family members and his friends opened the gifts he got them, seeing how excited they were. He had given them each something he knew they had really wanted. For his mother, he got her a red hair ribbon that he knew she had been longing for. For his father, he had managed to obtain hunting knife. Once everyone had opened their presents, he encouraged them all to dig into the apples, sugar cubes, carrots, pastries and other goodies. He spent the party talking to everyone, having them say how much they appreciated their gifts. Of course, he was told he didn't have to, considering it was his birthday, but he waved these thoughts away. He told them that seeing all of them happy, that was the best birthday present he could ask for. He also told them it would now be a tradition on his birthday, that he would give gifts instead of receiving them. In his mind, there were plenty of other days for him to receive gifts. For his birthday, he wanted to see others be given gifts instead.

Choose Your Own Adventure! User Name: Dea and #Teddy# Do you have a teepee? Yes (link is in my mini entry) Do you prefer roleplay, or plotting? I love RPing. It has always been a favorite thing of mine to do since joining Gaia in 2004. Choose Your Own Entry: Alright, so I have been reading the Lunar Chronicles lately (which is fairy tales meet sci-fi) and it (along with normal fairy tales/fantasy) has given me inspiration for this mare. -Brielle is secretly a princess who has been in hiding from an evil sorcerer since she was a little girl. The sorcerer has come to rule over her family's herd, though she is the true ruler. - The red and gold hood was a present from her grandmother, before she was killed. Brielle uses it to hide her trade mark golden locks, so she will not be easily spotted. - The sorcerer will send out three stallions to try and kill Brielle. One of them will be too nice, ending up getting hurt. One of them will be too mean. The last one will be just right and secretly a prince who had been trying to find her. The two of them will fall in love. - Brielle and her prince will travel all over, trying to keep away from the evil sorcerer. They will help many Soquili on their journeys. - I can see some of the others that the pair save being versions of other fairy tales, which will all join together to form their own herd. - Eventually this new herd will face off against the sorcerer, killing him/her or sending him fleeing. - Afterwards, Brielle puts someone else in charge of her old herd and travels around with her new herd. They have many adventures, helping to right wrongs and thwart evil.
