Welcome to The Showcase

Here are a few brief rules and guidelines to keep in mind before using this forum:

1. Always obey the gaiaonline.com Terms of Service and site rules.

Rules are meant to keep things safe and fun for everyone, so please do your part to ensure fun times.

2. This sub forum is for item/color guides and avatar construction threads only.

Please refrain from posting about anything other than the designated subject matter. Misplaced threads will be moved by crew to the appropriate forums or deleted. If you are ever in doubt as to whether or not something is permissible in this sub forum, simply ask a member of our wonderful crew for assistance.

3. Be considerate of other's ideas and designs.

Even if you do not like an avatar or item guide someone has posted, please refrain from making distasteful or hurtful comments. You would not want someone to belittle your work, so do not do that to others.

4. Only ONE thread per item/color scheme.

Multiple threads for the same color scheme or item topic are not necessary and only cause clutter. This rule also applies to avatar building threads in so much as each person is allowed to make ONE thread for avi ghosting requests.

5. Have fun.

The members of BFAA want you to have fun introducing others to Gaia's crazy colors schemes, cosplay sets, and avatar possibilities. As long as you follow the rules of both the site and the thread creators, we can all have fun. Now go get creative!

Helpful Tips for Item and Color Guides

If you are new to item and color guide creation, or have simply been out of practice for a while, here are some helpful tips that will make your guides more user-friendly and organized.

1. Try organizing your items by: Gold Shop, Cash Shop, Chance Items, Monthly Collectibles, Evolving Items, Bundles, User Recolors, Animal (Paw), Lake Kindred, Un-tagged older items

2. Provide the item name along with the item image.

3. Link item images to the Marketplace. Users often like to try the items on in the Marketplace dress up before buying.

4. Be consistent in your font size and color.

5. If you wish to avoid mixing the guide posts themselves with comment posts, try taking up all 15 posts on page one and then deleting the extra posts you will not need. This will keep only the items on the first page. Your guide will look much nicer that way.

6. Provide a "quote me" code for those who wish to make item suggestions for your thread.

7. Make any rules for your guide thread very clear so there is not room for mistaken interpretation. If you do not want people to post in your thread, say so in the rules right up front.
