It was night and a golden frame moved amidst the moonlight.

It was Erytheia's first patrol on the streets of Destiny City. And the page of Cosmos was understandably nervous.

It was an understatement to say he had never done anything quite like this before. He was alone and it was dark and he was walking in shadows. It felt strange to hear nothing but the sound the golden chain sometimes made as it clanged like a bell against the incense burner he held.

Despite knowing his purpose tonight - to protect the city, or so he had be told - he was surprised when a figure moved like a phantom in the distance.

Erytheia could not make out its form at first. But he soon learned why. The thing he had found was not of a shape he had ever seen and it was not entirely corporal for that matter. The beast had a hulking frame that shed itself like mist as it moved in and out of the light.

So this is a youma?, the boy thought.

This was just the type of thing he was tasked to destroy. It was a being of pure Chaos. He was one bound to Cosmos. Even though he knew this to be fact now, it didn't prevent him from hesitating. Must he kill it? It could be harmless, after all.

The youma, however, had no such reservations.

Caught off guard in his musings, Alphonse held his weapon close as he braced for the worst.
