Ah, kids. They had so much energy. Sailor Ptolemaeus wasn't fond of children or childish people, but the fact that they were usually so energetic made them an ideal target for sapping energy from. That was how the DMC senshi found himself one afternoon leaning against a tree watching children play on a playground in the park. His usually ever-present grin was nowhere to be found, his annoyance having banished it as he watched the kids run around.
Change would find them soon enough. They'd grow up and learn what it was like to be an adult in the real world, robbing of their carefree natures, and innocence. In the meantime, though, maybe it was best they just learned to settle down. Ptolemy withdrew a mirror shard to summon a mirrorwraith.

It was perhaps early for Oort to be out and powered out, given that normally the red-haired chibi senshi of keys preferred to do his patrols when there was less people around.
Normally...
Normally but not always .
As it happened however he had been sitting up in his tree as Briar and reading in between licks of the ice cream he had picked up as he debated on whether he wanted to for long enough for the park to quieten.. To empty...
Or if he wanted to make the trip home and then sneak back out later.
He wasn't sure at which point he spotted the guy who appeared to be standing there watching the playground or for how long the other had been standing there, but something about the other had had him slipping down the tree as quietly as he could before finding somewhere to power up.
Perhaps it was the clothes, or perhaps the way that he seemed so interested in the playing kids.
Perhaps it was just the clothes, however it hadn't taken too long for him to find somewhere secluded - the dumpster area had been empty and made for a great place - and once he was Oort he was able to sense what Briar had not - a chaotic aura.
It wasn't a Negaverse aura - Oort figured that he was pretty good at telling those now given that he had come across rather a lot of Negaverse auras during his time in Nega space, however nor was it the warmth of an Order aura.
And so he made his way back towards where he had seen the guy last..
A guy who probably knew he was coming, given that sensing auras was a two-way thing.

your start is fine :3 sorry it's taken so long to tag it. Also please lmk if I need to change anything in this tag back and I will get onto it asap
The Dark Mirror senshi looked up sharply upon sensing the sudden emergence of another powered aura. It was someone of the Order and vaguely he wondered how he hadn't noticed anyone new appear around the playground. Maybe it was a cat like Arthur?
When the other aura began rapidly closing in on him, Ptolemaeus stiffened, aware that he very well might have had a fight on his hands. But his lips parted slightly in surprise when the 5'4" stranger at last came into view.
"Wha? They let kids fight their battles for them?" the 6'3" high school remarked in astonishment. "Are you a senshi for real?" This boy must have been around his younger sister's age, and around the same height, too.

As it happened the guy was still where he had last spotted him back when he had still been in the tree as Briar, although he wasn't looking at the playing kids any more.
Instead - and Oort wasn't sure for sure - he appeared to be looking in his direction instead.
He stepped properly into view as he continued to walk over towards the other - who as it turned out was looking in his direction - well at least he was if the kind of stiff way he was standing was anything to go by.
He stiffened himself at the other's comment, his reddish eyes turning annoyed beneath his glasses, because Oort hated being called a kid.
He wasn't a kid - he was thirteen with a super stress on the teen and he was going to be in High School once school started up after the summer holidays.
"Yes I'm a superhero - I'm Chibi Oort and I'm not a kid." he said and his voice was annoyed as his expression as he stared up at the other with folded arms. "Who are you?"
"Right...'chibi', huh?" the Dark Mirror chuckled. "Did you just call yourself a superhero?" He shook his head, his usual grin having found a reason to return to his face. "Name's Sailor Ptolemaeus, Dark Mirror Senshi of Change. Are you here to try to stop me, Superhero 'Chibi' Oort?"
He leaned forward, putting his hands on his knees to address the shorter male with his wicked smile. "I'm not exactly a bad guy, you know. But hey, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing what you've got to throw at me. It's always entertaining fighting other senshi, especially because I don't know what your 'superpower' is yet."

Oort blinked as the other guy revealed his name, because it was a long name.
A seriously long name.
A part of him felt sorry for the guy having such a crazy long name, enough so for him to not be as annoyed as he could have been at the other's reaction to his mention of being a superhero...
Besides Ptoley-of the very long name wasn't the first Dark Mirror senshi that Oort had come across - that had been Namaka and Namaka had been pretty cool.
And so he folded his arms and gave the taller senshi a serious look from beneath his glasses as he said "Depends" adding "Are you planning to something bad or creepy?"
A glance at his face would suggest that he was being completely serious about the question.
Kitomyx
No worries :3 Apologies for taking so long to tag back myself - RL at me for the longest while
"...Why do all you Order people ask me that?" Ptolemaeus laughed, shaking his head. "You act like everything's black and white and it's so easy to separate what's considered 'good' and 'evil'. That's why I was never fond of superheros. What about the in-between?"
He straightened up once more. "Everything is subjective. What might be considered 'bad' or 'creepy' to you might not fit my definition of those words, so what good would it do to ask me? In those stories of superheroes and supervillians, don't the heroes break the law sometimes? Do the villains not have any good intentions at all? If a thief steals to feed his starving family, does that make him a 'good guy' or a 'bad guy'?"
The Dark Mirror senshi sighed heavily. "Just because you don't understand a person's motivations doesn't make their actions evil. Everything can be seen from an alternate perspective. Children, however, are too self-centered to see that; too egotistical to think anything could be viewed differently than how they themselves perceive it."
He continued to grin, raising a brow at Oort as if to challenge him to refute his reasoning. "That's what makes you a child. If you weren't, you wouldn't have asked me that question assuming I knew exactly what your idea of those terms meant."
litian
((I completely understand. XP Same thing just happened to me.))

Oort had thought it a pretty valid question himself, even if by creepy he had been thinking more along the lines of the creepy hand trick - because that remained pretty much the creepiest thing he had ever seen.
Hands weren't supposed to be able to go into chests. Ever.
He hadn't been expecting a lecture back, although it was probably fair to say that he didn't listen to much of it with his reddish eyes starting to glaze over the more the taller guy droned on.
And whilst the other Dark Mirror senshi he had met - Namaka - had been pretty cool. Ptoley-of the very long name was coming coming across as anything but - particularly as he continued to drone on and on...
Perhaps he was one of those 'like the sound of his own voice' types.
Perhaps, but either way apart from the other's earlier seeming fixation on the playground he didn't seem like he was doing anything and whilst the droning on was kind of annoying, Oort did have actual superhero things that he could be getting on with.
It was with that in mind that had him calling on his magic, because whilst it didn't do that much, Oort reckoned that the speed boost would come in handy - at least in helping him put some distance between 'mister drone on a lot,' calling on his magic as he called out "Key Up!"
Quote:
Key Up! Oort calls on his magic while chanting the name of this attack and the magic forms into a small ethereal-looking ornate key. By standing in front of an ally and turning the key as if in an invisible lock Oort can use this this to give an ally either a strength boost or a speed boost (one or the other and he doesn't get to choose which) of about 15%. Alternatively Oort can use it on himself, but he will only get the speed boost. Duration: Oort has 15 seconds to use the 'key' otherwise the key will disappear. The boost will last for 10 seconds once Oort has used the 'key'
xKitomyx
Oort register the whole of Ptoley's speech as pretty much - blah, blah - I like to talk - blah, blah, blah. Hope this post works for you wink
Ptolemy hadn't realized the kid's attention span had been slipping during what he himself considered a relatively brief explanation, but he guessed he shouldn't have assumed the boy could appreciate an intellectual conversation, either.
"Whoa, hey, that's playing dirty!" he called upon hearing the other shout his attack, though he grinned at Oort's taking initiative. "Attacking without warning? If you didn't want an actual answer to your question, you shouldn't have asked. But fine, if you're so eager to play - Change of Subject!"
The Dark Mirror Senshi flung out his hand and threads of bright blue light flew from the mood rings on each of his fingers. The threads wove together to form a luminescent net that headed straight for the magically-manifested key that Oort had summoned.
litian
((Hahaha, it's perfectly fine, thanks. XD
Regarding the full details of Ptolemaeus' attack, they're here, but basically if his attack was successful, his net would wrap around Oort's key and then melt into bright blue pools of light that would envelop the key completely before the light faded out.
'Change of Subject's' effect causes an attempted ally/enemy magic attack to continue without hindrance, but with its effects completely reversed. You, as the player of Oort, can interpret the reversal of the attack and how it affects her magic as you see fit!))

As it happened sneak attacks had not been topmost in Oort's mind, instead he had been planning to put as much distance between the two of them as possible and get some actual superhero stuff down - like looking around to see if there was any monsters about.
His attention wasn't on the mister drone-a-lot, although perhaps it should have been, instead raising the key that had manifested with the intention of using it on himself...
At least up until the point when a 'net' made up of what appeared to be coloured strings of light wrapped around the key in his hand and melted into a pool of blue light that moved to cover the key before fading away.
Reddish eyes glanced at the key in his hand with a mixture of puzzlement and suspicion before looking towards the Dark Mirror senshi.
The Dark Mirror senshi who had a grin on his face.
It was too much - coming after all the droning on from the other - and whilst Oort had been planning to use the key on himself, the smug, irritating looking grin on the dark mirror senshi's face made him suspicious and annoyed...
And so instead he closed some of the distance between him and Ptoley-of the very long stupid name instead before pointing the key at the other and trying to turn it as in an invisible lock.
Kitomyx
Hope this is okay. I figure that an attack reversal in this case would either make Ptolemaeus feel weaker (strength drain) or slower (speed drain) - your choice on whether it works or not and if it does which one Ptolemaeus ends up getting
Ptolemaeus was surprised when the kid seemed to catch on. Most others he'd used his attack against hardly even realized he'd done anything to change theirs, but this chibi senshi looked suspicious even before he'd used his own magic. Of course the teen had no idea what Oort's attack did, but judging by the way he changed his magic key's direction, he doubted whatever it was meant anything good for him. At least not after Change of Subject.
Oort seemed to have guessed that too and was taking a risk even though he didn't seem sure what had been done to his key. Even as the boy turned it in an invisible lock, Ptolemy felt some of his strength suddenly drain from him. He raised his brows in surprise, his grin faltering for a moment. "Clever," he muttered, casting the White Moon Senshi another smile, though this one held admiration. "Quick thinking. And you've got more guts than I thought."
Though his strength was no longer at full capacity, Ptolemy walked toward his opponent and crouched down before him to meet his eye. "Are you going to beat me up, now?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
litian
((Oh, it's perfectly fine! Sounds great to me! For effect, I rolled a die to see which he got; odd = strength, even = speed. Turned out to be a 3, so weaker strength it was!))

It had hit Oort after he turned the 'key' that was his magic that it had perhaps been a mistake to use it on Ptoley-of the very long name...
But the weird net light thing hadn't come from him and the other had had that stupid grin that had made him think of some of the school playground bullies - and it had come most of all on top of all the annoying droning - the really annoying droning.
And besides he had already used his magic and it wasn't like he could just unstop it... At least Oort didn't think he could unstop it.
It didn't stop him from squaring slim shoulders slightly however, because at the end of the day he was a superhero when he was like this and superheroes weren't supposed to back down - although Oort was pretty sure that superheroes weren't supposed to stand there listening to people drone on either.
It seemed however by the other's expression that perhaps he had been right to use the key on the Dark Mirror though as the other's stupid smug grin suddenly faltered.
And perhaps maybe, just maybe that meant that he could go do his superhero stuff now.
Or at least that had been Oort's plan, up until the point where the other had decided to close the remaining distance between them, annoyance flickering in his reddish eyes at the other's 'guts' comment.
"I told you I'm a superhero" he huffed - the same annoyance reflected in his voice - unaware that the other had been perhaps trying to offer a compliment, although annoyance faded into a frown at the other's follow up question.
"No" he said at last, "You're annoying and you drone on a lot - but I can't beat you up for that. And I can't beat you up for having a long stupid name."
Because Oort was pretty sure that he was only supposed to be beating up the bad guys and the monsters.
He stepped back before aiming a kick at the Dark Mirror senshi's shins, as he added "But you're really, really annoying."
And regardless of whether the kick connected or not and despite it not really being superhero behaviour, it didn't stop it from being kind of satisfying to get it off his chest.
Oort turned after he finished speaking, fully intent on leaving - because he had actual superhero things to be getting on with and he had delayed doing them for long enough.
Kitomyx
I kind of feel that I should apologise for Oort. You can also feel free to take this as a fin if you want as he will continue to disappear off unless Ptolemaeus tries to stop him.
"Superheroes aren't the only clever or brave ones," Ptolemaeus sighed, growing somewhat tired of the whole superhero thing. To him, they had always been pretty overrated. "Ever heard of an anti-hero? They can do good things, too."
He blinked before laughing aloud at Oort's response regarding his being annoying, droning on a lot, and having a long, stupid name. He knew that he could be aggravating; that he had annoyed a great many others in the past, but he hadn't often just been told so outright like this. Kids really were brutally honest. He had a grudging admiration for that aspect of them as well, even if they just didn't know any better.
That honesty was so unlike him; he who was so used to wearing the same old mask of an expression, grinning and bearing it no matter what he felt inside. Showing emotion, he felt, was a sign of weakness, but kids evidently didn't care. They didn't seem to think to show anything other than exactly what they felt; something which he both envied and despised them for.
"Ouch." Whether he was referring to being called annoying or the physical pain from the kick was unclear, but his grin broadened into something wicked again. He grit his teeth against the pain in his shins but retaliated at the same time by reaching out for the boy with both arms. While he was still crouched down, it seemed for all the world that Ptolemaeus was attempting to pull Oort into a full-on hug.
litian
((Oh, no, please don't apologize! XD My characters are constantly causing trouble for others and being annoying so if you feel you have to apologize, I'd have to do that too, only a thousand times over. Hehehe, they're just characters, so I don't take anything they say or do personally. heart And I hope you don't mind, but Ptolemy's decided he's not done with Oort yet~))

"Yes" Oort said, in answer to the question about antiheroes. "I do."
Because as it happened Namaka had told him about them last year.
She'd called herself an anti-hero to his superhero and Oort hadn't really been sure what one was, but Namaka had explained it to him and had been pretty cool about it when the closest thing that he could come up with had been Mirage from the Incredibles.
To be fair though he'd been younger then - well okay he'd been twelve - but twelve was still younger than now and a whole year had passed since then.
Oort had been focused on finally getting on with superhero stuff and so he hadn't really been paying attention to Ptoley-of the very long name...
Because as far as he was concerned he had already said everything he was going to say - and whilst he wasn't sorry about the kick to the shins - he'd really meant it when he said that he wasn't planning to beat the other up.
He therefore wasn't expecting the arms that reached out towards him or the hand that latched onto his trailing arm.
The dark mirror senshi used the grip he'd managed to catch Oort with to pull the boy into a full, tight embrace.
"You're pretty awesome," he spoke softly into his ear as he hugged him. "It's great that you're doing what you think is right." It was so strange...this chibi senshi was reminding him so much of his little sister. She wouldn't accept him, didn't fully trust him...but didn't distrust him enough to completely reject or shut him out, either.
That was another thing about children he admired. Young as they were, so many things were still changeable and possible for them. They were still open-minded enough to try to understand others' perspectives if they thought to listen because they weren't set in their ways like adults.
Ptolemaeus released Oort, but held him at arms' length, his hands on his shoulders. "I may be the senshi of change...but as you grow, I hope you don't change what's in here." Lifting his right hand, he pointed at Oort's heart with his index finger.
