D&D Format that we are using.
This role-play with be in a different format than the others that we have done in the past. It will be more of a rough D&D style format with dice rolls.

Name: Marcus 'Marc' Snowden Age: 21 Weapons: Currently none Apparel: Hoodie with a t-shirt underneath, jeans, backpack. Bio: Nick and Marcus Were hanging out in Nick's apartment and decided to grab a bite to eat. They decide to head to Jimmy John's. Nick and Marcus were sitting in Jimmy John's, their usual lunch spot near Nick's apartment in downtown Triton. They were in the apartment earlier playing some video games before they got hungry. Marcus got his usual BLT and was sitting with Nick at a table against the wall.
Besides the staff, the only other people in the restaurant were a mother and child. The mom looked like she could've been late 30s, early 40s and her son looked like he was maybe seven or eight years old. They were a few tables down from Nick and Marcus, more towards the door. Marcus looked up and saw the boy standing up and looking out the window. There were a few cars that were stopped outside and it didn't look like their drivers were in them. Marc didn't really think much of it. He just kept enjoying his sandwich.

As Nick takes his sub out of the paper wrapping he notices a slight concerned look on Marcus's face as he looked over Nick's shoulder. Nick quickly turned his head around to see the kid looking out of the store front glass window with his hands on the glass watching the traffic and pedestrians. He looked a bit closer and noticed the vacant cars that were stopped on the street amongst the traffic. Nick turned back to Marcus and asked,
"Why are people out of their cars right now? Some road rage going on?"

Marcus looked back out the window to try to get a better view of what was going on. "I'm not sure, it didn't look bad when we walked in. Plus there's usually not a lot of traffic downtown at this time. Maybe there's an event or something." Marcus wanted to be a little more concerned with his sandwich than what was going on outside, but he couldn't help but to think about investigating. It's just his nature. He got up and walked towards the door, passing the family of two on his way. He got to the door and looked out of the window to see what was going on. He looked down the road to his left and saw quite a few cars headed their way, as well as some people on their feet. He looked towards the direction that they were running in and didn't see anything of interest. Marcus returned to his seat, eager to eat his sandwich and talk to Nick. "There's a bunch of cars headed down the road, and they're going kinda fast. Plus there's some people on foot going in the same direction. It's a little weird that no one's going in the opposite direction though. It's not like this is a oneway road or anything."

"I'm sure it's nothing." Nick was really hungry so he just wanted to zone into eating his sub before he concerned himself any farther. He took a few bites before one of the employees began coughing loudly and moaning. Nick peaked his head over the counter and noticed the second employee trying to comfort the other making sure and asking if he was alright. The man then fell to the ground and his co-worker yelled loudly this time "Hey man what's wrong are you good!?" Nick and Marcus both stood up and asked if they needed to call 9-11. The woman grabbed her child and kept her distance still near the front of the store.

Marcus reached into his pocket to grab his phone and call 911. When the operator picked up, she said that they had been receiving calls nonstop for the past few hours, all of reports of people attacking each other. She said that the proper authorities would be headed in Marcus' direction. "Wait what? I have a person here who just collapsed and needs medical help!" The line dropped. She must've hung up. Maybe she got another call. "They said that help's on the way! But just to be sure, give them a call yourself, hopefully they'll get here quicker" Marcus told the employees. He turned to Nick and said "hey man something's wrong. The 911 operator said that they've been getting reports all day of people attacking each other in the streets. And they said it's everywhere. That's probably what's going on outside!"
Marcus looked over towards the counter and heard the employee that was still standing start shouting. "He's not breathing! He stopped breathing!" He saw the mother begin to panic.
He turned back to Nick. "What do we do?"

Nick went into a panic never having to deal with a situation like this before.
"Uhh.. Hey do you know CPR at all!?" Nick asked the employee to which he shook his head no. Nick turned over to the woman to ask her if she could help but she was still huddled with her son in the corner trying to calm him down. He didn't want to freak them out anymore than they were.
"Marcus we need to get back behind the counter and help hi--" Nick was interrupted by the employee who collapsed lunged at the other that was helping him. The other man started screaming at him to get off and to relax. "We thought you were dead! You weren't breathing! Get off!" Nick tried to jump over the counter to save the employee. *Acrobat roll - 3* (3-4 Slight success, 5-6 = complete success)
Nick boots himself up onto the counter but his foot slips on the glass display. He regains his balance on top of the display and jumps down on top of the raging employee knocking him off of the other. Nick backs away looking at Marcus in surprise and shock of what he just did. "Marcus meet us in the back room!" Nick and the man rush to the back area and close the door.

Marcus looked at the lady with her child and looked back to the counter. 'They'll be fine,' he thought to himself. He figured if the disgruntled employee went after them, they could just leave. He ran to the back and opened the door to meet them. When he opened the door, he saw Nick and the other employee, plus a few objects in the room. He figured that he should find something to defend himself after seeing how violent the other guy got. He looked around the room to find something. *Rolled a 6, 1-2 fail, 3-4 finds butter knife, 5-6 finds sharpened knife.* He spotted a sharp knife on a table and grabbed it. It looked like it would've been capable of being used for self defense. He turned to everyone in the room. "What're we gonna do?"

Nick looked down at Marcus's hand and noticed that he had picked up the knife. He was nervous but felt like it might be a good idea to arm ourselves. He also looked around the room frantically after helping the man get into a chair and calm down. *Search roll - 6* Nick grabbed another large sharpened knife from the same rack that Marcus grabbed his from. He looked over to the man who was attacked.
"Hey man are you alright what's happening?"
The man was grabbing his arm firmly and Nick noticed a small tear in his sleeve.
"Did he hurt you? What's wrong with your arm?"
The man removed his hand to reveal a very small bite mark on his arm.
"I'll be fine but he's gone totally crazy, what did the police say?" The man asked Marcus.

Marcus turned to the guy and told him what happened. "Honestly, I couldn't even get to the police. The operator hung up on me, I think something might've happened to her, maybe even the same thing that's happening to us. She told me that this is happening everywhere, there's nonstop reports of random violence. She said that authorities are going everywhere, but they should've been here by now. Maybe something big is happening out there." Marcus gripped his knife tighter. "Whatever it is, we gotta go somewhere safe. Nick you think we can hold up at your place until this stuff dies down?"

Nick nodded to Marcus.
"Yeah that's probably the best idea, we can just hold out up there until the police figure this out... Right now we have to deal with what's in front of us though, that guy out there might hurt the woman and her kid." Nick walked over to the door connecting the back room to the area behind the counter where the man still was. Nick heard the woman and her child start screaming and a loud crash.
"Marcus we need to get out there now! You need to stay here and patch up that bite." Nick said while grasping the door knob and looking at the employee.
Marcus and Nick stood next to the door and then charged through.
Nick saw the man still stuck behind the counter trying to reach at the woman and her kid, the front window was also crashed into by a car. The driver was being attacked by two "people" from either side of the car. The entire scene just chaos. Nick ran at the man behind the counter. *Attack roll - 1* In his clouded judgement he didn't focus enough on footing and what was in front of him. He slipped and fell to the ground dropping his knife at the feet of the man. The man reached down and grabbed Nick.

Marcus behind Nick, saw that he dropped his knife and was grabbed by the attacker. Without thinking, he quickly charged at him. *Attack roll - 4* Marcus was able to push the attacker off of Nick, but he unfortunately when he tried to stab him with his knife, he missed. "We gotta get out of here man!" Marcus turned to the mother and child in the corner. "You two need to get out of here!" Marcus turned to Nick and asked, "How are we getting out? What's the fastest way back to your place? We'll need to avoid people too."
